Christian Historical Romance - Due to some sensitive issues about abuse the age for readers should be 14 and up.
Great storyline and love all the characters, but needs better proofreading. Used Whittaker instead of Whittlan, uses past for passed, there for their, etc. Also commas left out and 'he' used instead of 'she' a couple of times. Also used the wrong name for a character besides the one above. I stopped counting the wrong homonyms after eight on this book. This interrupts the flow and in some cases, I had to go back and read the same sentence more than once to get back on track. Author is self-published so that may be the main problem. No editor to catch all the little mistakes. Thus far, every book I've read from 1-4 have the same problem to a certain degree, which is a shame because the storylines/plots are great! I'd suggest getting someone to proofread the actual book and not use autospell on it because autospell and spellcheck will not catch homonym mistakes, nor punctuation mistakes.
Mini-Series worthy! Outstanding characters and stories.
This is your fourth book I’ve read and not had a boring moment. The story lines are not predictable or repetitive. The variety of characters with each their own history and interaction are all amazing. Each has depth and believability. Settings and activities give us historical knowledge as we share the emotions of hardships, successes, happiness and tragedy. All in all, I couldn’t put them down, but when completed, jumped right into the next book. Leah, you are a wonderful and talented writer. (Please use a competent proofreader and the books would be perfect.)
To find an author with the amazing talent to write a smoothly flowing and complex blending of many stories is an unending delight. The converse is that midst all this good there are words used that are totally wrong for the context, too many misplaced commas and misused pronouns, factual errors (there is no wild peppermint or spearmint in the Pacific Northwest), missed chances ( picking arnica which has awesome medicinal use and is not then used in the lab). Still, I shall continue to read because of my love of the characters portrayed.
This is book #4 in the Wildflowers series and was written by Leah Banicki. This fourth tale is filled with love and sorrow, excitement and adventure. Violets after is finally exposed for abusing his now grown daughter until she ran away from their home at fifteen. He is judged harshly by the entire town and is given the most harsh punishment available to them. Ted and Angie are finally married and the Sparks family finally arrived at their new home. You will greatly enjoy this book and will look forward to the next episode.
Great characters, Leah puts you right there in the story.
This series has wonderful characters and the descriptions of the areas are spot-on. You will laugh out loud and sniffle with a tissue at the stories and situations which are so real. Life was very hard for those willing to make the sacrifice to go west. The lack of medical care and the healing use of plants and herbs is interesting to me.
This book covers some harsh aspects of life, where males do not treat females as God intended. It was really well done, how the abuse was dealt with in a Scriptural way. It was really encouraging, how the whole community addressed the wrong in a balanced and just way. (If only that were true in the 'real' world!!). A really good book in the continuing epic saga. Looking forward to the rest.
This iIs The Most Outstanding Christian Fiction I Have Ever Read
Astounding Story—Which I Never Wanted To End, it left my heart opened to want Christ as deeply as everyone in Oregon City. I would love every book I read to leave me eager to read the next in the series as this one. Characters in this book are so real, I admired and loved them so much. Thank you Miss Linda. Sincerely, Betty Burdette
This western romance on the frontier series is excellent
The storyline is excellent and the series is peopled with believable and distinctive characters. However, this series would be vastly improved if someone took over the proofing. There are missing words, poor grammar and many words spelled wrong. It somewhat spoils the reading pleasure. I'm not trying to be critical, but sincerely want the books to improve
I love Leah Banicki's writing. The books are full of history, the characters come alive and the story keeps you reading. I feel that her books are inspirational and she uses her gift as a ministry to reach the reader for Christ and to inspire to live a more Godly life. I highly recommend these books.
Intriguing characters, great novel. It is so wonderful to read books that are not filled foul language! I appreciate how you weave the characters together through hard times and good times; how they each faced their own struggles with the support of one another.
I want to say foremost that I love reading this series. I realize there are grammatical errors, but the characters and their stories push through them.
Although there are many "featured characters," each one has special and unique characteristics that blend into the story beautifully. Benicia weaves them in and out of the story with great skill.
I've enjoyed reading this story, The Watermill, a story in the series, Wildflowers. The story is well told and written by the author, you will enjoy reading of the adventures of the characters.
Another wonderful book in the Wildflowers series! This was a very heavy book though, major trigger warnings for abuse! I rooted for Violet the whole book! And I was so happy Dolly came back safe and sound. I’m excited to read the next book!
I have no words on how wonderful this book is…the truth of the stories, is excellent this series of books have left me laughing, crying sobs, Every character is there for a reason I am loving this series..
Very heart warming at the end of the book. The beginning and middle had me feeling angry and hurting for Violet. She has been so wonderful and uplifting through all that happened to her. I enjoyed the scriptures also.
I have all four in the series and plan on reading the rest. I have one complaint, this is a Christian book; the Bible or Holy Bible is to be capitalized . I look forward to the next six books.
Continuing the stories of the people who moved West and their trials and tribulations. Very well done, I loved watching the characters grow.Would recommend this book.
Many of the relationships become more apparent while new relationships are introduced. Never a dull moment In this book. This book is not really a stand alone.
Another great addition to a wonderful series. A continuation of the amazing women that went West and their trials and successes. I highly recommend this series.
