Heaven & Hennessy: Blaque Brothers Book 1

Rate this book
Heaven Domino has spent most of her life taking care of everyone else.

As a pediatric oncology nurse, being strong for others comes naturally. But when betrayal brings her long-term relationship to an abrupt end, Heaven decides it’s finally time to choose herself. Love is the last thing on her mind, and she has no interest in giving another man the opportunity to break her heart.

Hennessy Blaque isn’t looking for love either.

Successful, devoted, and fiercely protective of the people he loves, his entire world revolves around being a father. With his young son battling an illness no parent should have to face, Hennessy doesn’t have room in his life for anything that could distract him from what matters most.

Then he meets Heaven.

What begins as a connection formed through his son slowly becomes something neither of them expected. Beyond the walls of the hospital, conversations turn into comfort, comfort turns into attraction, and before long, staying away from each other becomes harder than either of them anticipated.

But falling in love is easy compared to everything waiting on the other side of it.

As Hennessy faces the kind of loss that can change a man forever, Heaven finds herself doing the one thing she swore she wouldn’ opening her heart. Because sometimes love doesn’t arrive when life is perfect. Sometimes it finds you in the middle of the heartbreak, sits beside you through the grief, and reminds you that even after losing a piece of yourself, there may still be room for something beautiful.

Just What I Needed

This was a palate cleanser I didn't know I needed. Strictly two people brought together by a young beautiful, innocent soul, loved by both, by so many and gone too soon. Everyone is dealing with trying to live without King but most definitely not forgetting him. Kavana, his mother is taking it hardest and on a dangerous path without help. Heaven is putting her life together after betrayal by her ex and her sister. Navigating if it's cool for her to actually feel for Hennessy. Hennessy is going to do whatever it takes to get Heaven to accept his love for her. With the support of both families, they find it and it's beautiful. They're very cute together.

Heaven & Hennessy

This is a beautiful story. Sad but beautiful. No parent wants to bury his or her child, but sometimes they have too. Losing King brought Heaven into Hennessy's life. He needed her because she let him be him. She didn't try to change how he grieved or tell him everything was going to be alright. She sat with him, talked when needed, and stayed quiet when necessary.

Heaven and Hennessy's love is pure and healing.

Living and Loving again

This is the first time reading a book by Queen Rae. I really enjoyed. Losing a child is very difficult for the one let behind. Talking to some one is very important when you are drowning, especially when you have other children. Heaven and Hennessey's relationship wasn't a triditional one. In spite of all sad moments, there were great memories. I am excitedly waiting for the other two Blaque Brothers.

okay

This is the first book. I have read by this author and it was cool. I do think it became a little repetitive/to drag after a while though.

Hennessy and Heaven are very likable. Henny was cute. After everything they’ve been through separately I’m glad that they got each other.

I am interested in seeing what the other Blaque brothers will have going on.

This was a good story and great opener to introduce the Blaque Brothers!! Watching Hennessy navigate life after losing his son was all the feels!! He gave my Heaven hell those first two encounters they had! It was only right for them to end up together! I cant wait to read about Crown whats really going on!! I would like to see Kavana get herself together in the other books!

Less than 24 hours

This was such a good read. I was worried at first because of the length. HOWEVER I was surprised. But why didn’t she tell her brother about what Jamal did. And he and the brother just disappeared from the story.

What A Ride

An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. I loved how the grief experienced by both characters, in two different ways, ultimately blossomed into a beautiful love story. The storytelling was wonderful! 🔥

Wow

This book broke my heart. Heaven and Hennessy's love was so beautiful. It's truly sometimes through pain that you learn who's going to be there for you. Many times it's a stranger that will be there for you the most.

Great Read

I really enjoyed this read. Their love story was beautiful despite the heaviness. We all want someone to make us feel more at peace like they did.
