Shark Week

When scientist Archie 'Solo' Fjord unwittingly releases an unknown species of algae into the Antarctic Ocean, it brings about a devastating chain of events that turn the seas into a battleground for human survival.
Mutated by the algae, formerly harmless sharks of all varieties begin to kill any human that dares to set out on water.
Driven by guilt, Archie and his team must race against the clock to stop their own extinction.

Move over Jaws.
This novel was sheer magnificence.
I have always been a fan of creature feature books; rats, slugs, et al, and I find that like most of my fellow creature feature fans, I look forward to the scenes of utter annihilation the most, where the villain-animals of the book have some fun and cause some carnage, with the rest of the novels merely being a vehicle to string these scenes of carnage together.
In SHARK WEEK however, Lolly Sparrow not only provides countless kill chapters with nearly every type of person being destroyed by one (and often more) of the shark species, she also provides an amazing plot that despite its science background did not leave me floundering in the slightest.
I honestly cannot praise this gore-fest up enough, and I am sat with my fingers crossed hoping for a sequel.
A solid and very easy five stars

Archie is a researcher at the facility monitoring sharks when the team happens across a mystery substance hidden within the ice. An algae, not any old ordinary algae either. What ensues is a careful race for survival.
This book is highly researched, places, sharks, science and ecology all laid bare in this horrifying sci-fi horror.
This one would make an awesome movie I could see it in my mind directed by the likes of Peter Jackson. I now have a new favourite book written by the Queen - Lolly Sparrow!

Overall the book was great!! Love all the honourable mentions to the people that support the indie authors. I think the book was a bit too long for me to keep myself focused and concentrating but that could just be me being neurodivergent!
Loved all the fort details and all the bloody deaths!! There were so many!! Everyone should read this master piece
Thank you Lolly for including both me and mum in the story we both loved it I literally nearly screamed at 2am as I read our names!! Thank you so much Lolly!

An enjoyable mix of horror and science, with perhaps the highest death count I’ve encountered this year!

Jaws + Deep Blue Sea + Evolution + 28 days later + The Thing = Shark Week By: Lolly Sparrow
Seriously, all these blended together is the best I can quickly describe and get you interested! I read this in a day and hated putting it down.
A scientific anomaly and one of a kind discovery of a strange organism is found by Archie deep between frigid seas and sheets of ice. Buried and waiting for it's opportunity, it's extraction and a accident while traveling to further research just what he's found, send the world and all it's people into new dark waters as it starts to do strange and terrifying things to the shark population. As the earth's shores become the ultimate killing grounds of sacrifice and mayhem, scientists are against the clock for a cure. That, or kill all the sharks and reap the consequences after the imbalance of the food chain. These things are never that easy. Death comes for us all and in many forms in this entry that will have you treading water or beached. With these sharks, nothing is safe! Maybe you have green gills and need to learn how to swim, but it would be better if you just STAY OUT OF THE WATER!

I received an arc from the author for my honest review/opinion.

Well that's it IM NEVER EVER GOING INTO THE SEA AGAIN!!!!

The author has done so much research and you can honestly tell the details on the sharks are amazing. This book is terrifying and gory. The shark attacks even though horrible they are also amazing, who'd of thought I'd actually be more scared now of tiny sharks then the big ones 🫣. Archie was a great character you really felt his heartbreak on what was happening and how he was determined to save the sharks brilliant. Arhies team was brilliant too esp Ben 😭 he really hit me hard.

I really enjoyed at the end of the book Lolly has included the names and descriptions etc of all the sharks (who knew there are so many types) and the vessels names and details I thought it added more to what I've just read.

ARC READER REVIEW - I want to rate this 6 stars!!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The level of detail and imagery in this story is insane! I loved every single page, loved the chapter titles and the end pages with glossary and indexes.... I can see myself reading this one again and again - could definitely see this as an incredible film idea too! Just genius, pure graphic genius! Run, don't walk to get your copy on release day!

Carnage! Chaos! Chomps! So many sharks! Who knew!? It’s an action-packed, terrifying adventure on both land, sea and ship! Mans race to stop the mutations. The sharks race against extinction. With a high death toll, plenty of gore, and sharks galore, it’s definitely not a safe beach read but it is a fun one! After all, they are just “sea puppies..”
