When the cover model who’s every man’s fantasy…

By most people standards, Ryker is considered odd. As the only child of a notorious conman, he understandably has a few trust issues. Most men are willing to overlook his parentage and strange personality since these days he’s better known as one of the hottest cover models around. Ryker knows his appearance pays the bills, but it’s also brought grief, stalkers, and one gorgeous cop into his life. There’s one tiny problem with his new-found obsession, Grady—other than being a part of organized law enforcement—he also happens to be straight.

Meets a cop who’s unlike any other man…

Grady knows exactly what he wants in life. He has the career he’s always dreamed of, and plays the field, catching every woman he sets his sights on. That is until he meets Ryker. Something about the more-damaged-than-not cover model brings out Grady’s protective side. Ryker also does something else to Grady. He makes him burn. The last thing Grady expected was to fall for another man, but no one makes him feel the way Ryker does. He can’t get enough. Unfortunately, he’s not the only one.

Their passion will blow everyone away.

When Ryker’s ex threatens their newfound love, Grady will stop at nothing to hang onto the man he never knew he wanted, and the bond he’d die to keep.

Ugh! What was this book? No character development, no deep discussions. It was more like a movie, with no time to explore anything in depth. Everything was fast-paced (and not in a good way), with a small number of good bits thrown in.

I was done with this book at 10%, but kept on reading with the hope that maybe something would be made clear near the end.

Alas, no! Total time wastage!

A little too much insta-lovey, just like the first book, but the sex was hot. Especially the angry sex. Bummer is that all the BDSM was off page. I have a feeling the BDSM is gonna get hot and heavy in the third book.

Lincoln and Shayne did yet their HEA in this one, along with Ryker and Grady. Poor Henley... I hope book three is good!

I like this book better than the first one. We know everyone better now and can relate to how they interact with each other. This story was darker and more intense. Still, the writing was a little choppy but since these are short stories they get to the point and move on quickly. I'm interested to see how these stories progress because Charity Parkerson has a very inventive mind and her stories are always interesting.

New to me author. This is a mm contemporary story set in USA. I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by a women, wrong just wrong. There is instant love and not believable timelines. A straight to guy guy without any questions. It’s a no from me.

I was actually really liking this one until the shit started with Henley. Grady and Ryker were definitely hot together, but the way Grady treated Henley was shitty. It really threw me out of the story and rooting for Henly instead of the two MC's. By the end I was hoping that Grady would get kicked to the curb. I thought it was appalling the way he treated his supposed best friend. It took away the love I was feeling for the GFY storyline and left a really bad taste in my mouth. Also, a real Dom would never have treated Henley the way Grady treated him. These stories are great ideas but I don't think the short novels format is doing them or the author justice. Too much plot not enough story.

The setup for this one was amazing in the 1st book. I mean I could feel the sexual tension. It oozed and I was like breathing heavily when Ryker and Grady were in the same room at the same time.

So...then I have to tell you about the time that the chapter header of "six months later" turned out to be the point in the book where things go all upside down cray cray with icing on top. This one started out strong and the characters took a complete 180 and acted like assholes. And I was like "what????" Things are going swimmingly, if a bit too much insta-love (though I do buy insta-lust which is what they had really at first and it was HOT) and a bit too much of the GFY having like a hot minute to be "came to terms with" but I was like ok. It's good. UST and then hot sex. I'm lovin' it. Then: The Header and....wow. It fell flat like my hair in a dry climate and that was that. I finished but just barely and I felt awful that this couple who I really LOVED acted like douches to each other in such a jerky way. I didn't like either of them after that. And then there were other strange things happened, which I was willing to overlook you know on account of the UST and the sex and the general "these guys are great together" thing -- things like when . So yeah. 2 stars.

Yes, it was too short.
Yes, it is lacking any kind of serious character development.
Yes, it was full of manly men, over-the-top dudes.
Yes, I stayed completely intrigued in tandem with reading entire series back-to-back.
Yes, next please.

The author is really going with the insta-love path. This is a bit better than the first book. The main characters were given more background but still not enough. It is a novella I know but maybe a little more wouldn't hurt the purpose.

The tension between the MCs is really hot. Again, I wanted hotter sex but it was better than the first. Same with the first, the drama shoud have been delved deeper by the author. For me, that would have been good. More explanation between the thing between Henley and Grady was lacking.

Hope the next one will be better.

I especially didn't like the way Grady treated Henley, he was suppose to be one of his best friends and still he couldn't face him and tell him the truth?? Worse he treated him so bad that i really started to dislike Grady and i really didn't care if he got his HEA.

This story clearly wasn't for me.

I just can't stop...

Every time one of these characters does something that pisses me off.....I'm like, okay I'm not gonna read anymore....then the next page is too awesome, so I keep going. I can't stop, I can't help myself. I must know! Ugh!
This is now my favorite book of the series....thus far! Well done Ms. Charity

Finding this author was one of the high points of 2018. Her men have provided hours of exciting, emotional and passionate entertainment.
Ryker, a young model has been taught to stay away from cops. Too late.
My only complaint is that I want much more.

Blow is book two in the Hard Hit series

I’m undecided about this one. I don’t hate it, I liked the characters and elements of their story. But I didn’t love it.
I also don’t know if this series will be another fave or not

Ryker and Grady

What an enjoyable gay for you book. I really loved both Ryker and Grady. They just seemed like they were made for each other. They completed each other. Toxic people in Ryker's past and present helped destroyed the way he saw himself. Grady helped Ryker see that he was just as beautiful on the inside as he was on the outside. Ryker helped Grady just let go.

Sprinkle in Ryker's crazy ex boyfriend and Grady's interesting relationship with his best friend. You've got yourself a book filled with drama, romance, craziness, sappy moments, hot moments and a HEA. I am curious to read about Henley's story. That's Grady's best friend or he was his best friend until he went off the deep end. But I sort of felt bad for Henley after the confrontation at the end. I look forward to reading more about the secondary characters! 5 stars for me.

In this MM GFY romance we intimately meet Ryker, openly gay and Grady aka 'Cop' straight man surrounded by gay friends so no surprise when he switches teams.

Cop and Rykers relationship is not all hearts and flowers...they encounter issues such as coming out, insecurities, trust issues, and a nagging ex that does not want to lose Rykers to a 'straight' man.

In the end love wins all and we get a HEA for these two men.

4.5 stars. I really loved the characters in this story. Both Grady and Ryker were tough, but vulnerable, and just perfect for each other.

This amount of character development in a novella is rare, and I felt totally invested in these MC's. I enjoyed catching up with Shayne and Lincoln (from Collide), too. I can't wait for Thrash, as I love this series so far!

I loved this. Was there much of a plot? No! Was it great writing? Not really. Was there major character development? Hmmm ... Don't think so. I'd have to double check. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely. I love Charity Parkerson's cheesy books. Love love love them. Love her guys. Loved this couple.

Ok, first of all, I FLOVE Charity Parkerson's PNR, so I thought I'd venture out to read some of her other stuff. I'm a huge fan of MM and she is awesome at it! With that said, I like this book, but should have not read it out of order. This book starts off with a free fall into the middle of Grady and Ryker's situation that started in book one. I did not know this, and it made it really hard for me to get into the groove until way late in the story. Anyway...these two are smokin' hot together and I absolutely love the age difference. It's not huge, but enough to lend some maturity to the story that I don't think would have been there if Grady was younger. Kudos to the author for understanding how to do an age difference without it being distracting! Things move along at a very quick pace, and Ryker's past is an issue around every corner. Maybe a touch too much in the form of other people, but that is all the other characters making appearances from the other book? More than an introspective look at his past. So, 3 stars? Yes, I liked it. I really did. But I know I'll like other's better. Especially the Hellish series! MM Vampires and daemons? Damn right! Still, I do recommend this series, I'm definitely going back to book one.

Just finished reading this one and I wanted to drop a note before I move on to the next one. You get introduced to Grady and Ryker at the end of the last book and I knew I was interested in Ryker. Not sure about Grady.
It was interesting how well they flowed together until about the last quarter when there was a large hiccup and I wanted to kick Grady across the room and then stomp on his head.
The stalker is an interesting touch and I did enjoy the wrapping up of that situation.
I wish I had got to be there when Grady bottomed but the rest was wonderfully sexy and they glowed with each other which was so romantic. I like this pairing and I almost wish I had not finished the book so I could continue enjoying it.

This is the first true Gay Romance that I've read and I have to tell you, this writer needs to be on everyone's short list. She told a tale with just the right pacing, with the right character background, and the right timing to make an incredibly hot book! I'd always thought I would never enjoy MM tales, but I was wrong. And I always thought they were WAY out of my wheelhouse, and I was wrong there too. This was a very well written book, well proofed, and well edited. The writer, Charity Parkerson, should be very proud of the book and I hope to be reading more from her in the future. Kudos to you for bringing another reader out of their comfort zone in a very professional manner.

straight cop+gay model=true love. Wait. What?

No, the way Grady is so chill and has no angst over his feelings for Ryker is not very realistic. There is some angst but it stems from something else. This story is what makes me love fiction so much. Not everything has to be super realistic as long as the characters are well developed and the writing is good. I could feel the pull that Grady and Ryker had toward one another. The passion and love was obvious.

Grady and Ryker!

I really enjoyed this book. And I have loved reading all of Sugar series by Chasity Parkerson. I could re-read this book over and over because I love the heart and sexiness of this book. Their dialogue is incredible. But because of that, I feel like this book should have been more. More of the kink that Ryker and Grady share . More of their relationship and Bond growing. The story could have been more involved. Deeper.
But I did love everything I read.

Unsatisfying plot and erratic timeline could be dealt with. BUT if it's in a book that has very low character development and mediocre romance, it's just so disappointing! I needed more background with the characters, better plot and definitely romance with some buildup (who the hell starts a romance book with the characters having sex right at the beginning??) where I can actually feel the emotions myself (no buildup, nothing). I didn't hate it, but I expected so much more.

Grady and Ryker were my favorite part of the first book. Their sexual tension was off the charts and I couldn't wait to see where it went. There was pretty much no build up, but it was an interesting story, up until half of it disappeared behind an inexplicable time jump and a lot telling, not showing. I still enjoyed it, just felt like half the story, especially when you added in the drama with Henley. My series whore heart demands I read his book to find out what happens next.

There’s just something about reading a book were a straight man finds out he’s not to straight. I love being apart of finding love where it’s least expected and the emotional journey such a man takes. It’s incredible when he doesn’t fight it, but embraces it.

This was a fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

On so good.

Still rips my emotions. A very powerful read. Most impressive is the way the author approached everything. Don't want to give any spoilers but when you read it, you'll understand what I mean. That's something I got but didn't truly appreciate in the first read.
