bleed: a dark modern vampire romance

Rate this book
Six months ago, I was taking whatever jobs I could stack on top of each other to claw my way up from the bottom. Then I was handed a business card that changed my life.

an underground blood agency matching consenting donors with vampires willing to pay a premium for live feedings.

As far as making money goes, it almost seemed too easy– so naturally, I couldn’t sign up fast enough.

Being a donor is a breeze. I get chauffeured to lavish penthouses, drink top shelf booze, and get a hit of vampire venom with every bite. But just as my life’s finally taking a turn for the better, of course something comes along to ruin it.

One of my clients starts stalking me, so I’m forced to seek protection in the form of an exclusive donor arrangement. I never expect the offer to come from a literal celebrity.

Elliott Faulkner, the Nobel prize-winning vampire scientist. He’s notoriously difficult to get along with, but I’m a pro at dealing with assholes, so I sign on the dotted line. How bad could it be?

When I move into his penthouse, things get weird fast. He’s intense, secretive, and he won’t even bite me.

I thought I’d be trading blood for protection. Turns out, he’s only interested in possession.

Bleed is a dark modern vampire romance that includes scenes and situations that may be triggering for some readers. This standalone novel has no cliffhangers and guarantees a happily-ever-after (HEA) for the main characters.

~ For the ones who hear "He could kill you" and ask, "But is he hot?"~
I was so excited to start this book and get more of Bex! I loved her in the first book and just knew from her personality that this book would be even better!
And then we have our MMC.....he is the epitome of restraint, at least for a little while!
I also really enjoyed the plot development, and the characters were well written.
CANNOT wait for the next book!

I really enjoyed Bite (Book 1 – Taylor & James’ story), and I was hoping we would get Elliott’s story, so I was excited when this book was announced. It definitely didn’t disappoint! I actually enjoyed this one even more than Bite, and that was already a 5⭐️ read for me.

Bex is feisty with no filter, and she enjoys the bite without any shame. Dr. Elliott Faulkner… I have no words. I love a nerdy MMC with a dirty mouth! They had such a great dynamic, and it was so much fun watching Bex push his buttons and Elliott finally cave.

There was also a good mystery running in the background, and when everything finally came to a head, I didn’t see it coming—which is always a win for me as a reader.

I can’t wait for the next book because I need to know what Vincent is up to.

Thank you for the ARC!

Possessive Vampire? Say Less

Besties... Bex and Elliott are the definition of chaos meeting control, and I ate their dynamic UP. 🤭 Bex is tattooed, fearless, and allergic to behaving, while Elliott is a brilliant, brooding vampire scientist who practically lives by rules. Their exclusive donor arrangement forcing them under one roof? Yeah... we all know how well boundaries survive that setup.

I loved watching Elliott’s clinical fascination with Bex turn into something wildly possessive, especially once their unusual blood connection starts raising questions even he can’t answer. Add in the creepy feeling of being watched, vampire politics, danger, and a stalker situation that eventually goes completely off the rails, and the tension stays deliciously high.

And whew, Besties... the spice has FANGS and absolutely bites back! Elliott’s controlled exterior cracking around Bex was pure obsession fuel. Their banter kept me laughing, the darker moments brought the intensity, and that supernatural bond gave the romance an addictive edge. I’m officially invested.

My Ratings:  ⭐ 4.5/5  ▪︎  🥵 3.5/5

I actually don't think five stars is enough to adequately rate this book, it was exceptional. I read this in one sitting and I simply couldn't put it down, the story, the characters and spice were just on another level.

I absolutely loved Bex in the first book and truly couldn't wait to learn more about her, what a complex amazing fmc she was, I would go as far to say she has now stolen the top spot of my favourite this author has written up to now. Bex was a wild fmc who loved to push the buttons of those she encountered, she oozed charisma while also having hidden layers she tried to keep a mask on for. I found her hilarious while at times my heart ached for her. Elliot was the master of control, had cultivated an image for the world to see and while being blunt with his observations, always matter of fact with what he said. I was absolutely fascinated by him and loved his growth throughout the book. I honestly am not sure who I found sexier Elliot or Bex, their chemistry was scorching! I loved so many elements about this book and literally want to shout about them all because there are so many amazing moments in this book, little things I couldn't have fathomed, hilarious moments, moments that had me on the edge of my seat while trying to guess the reason for other things happening. The book was a thrill to read honestly and one of those books your best of not knowing much of before reading but you absolutely should read it.

I love CJ Primer’s creative, imaginative—same thing, I know, original, twisted-in-the-best-way-possible, mind. I own all paperbacks available, as well as all ebooks available. Huge fan here. I loved BITE. I can’t believe I love Bleed more! I swear Primer’s brain gets finer with age.
Bex is who I want to be when I ‘grow up’, only I’d give a little earlier 😉—I know she’s wild, and a bit much, but so am I. She just way cooler than I am, and has a hot as hades vampire 🥵
Eli is definitely who I’d want to climb-er, I mean, be with. With his sexy glasses, gray sweatpants, analytical thinking, tallness, his bites, and his sexy-times abilities/skills—I mean, c’mon!
BLEED is excitement from start to finish. Pure entertainment.

Bex Hamilton is my inner wild child. I loved her throughout the entire story. Her outspoken personality, how unapologetically herself she was and how she was never afraid to ask for what she wanted.
Elliott Faulkner is exactly what I hope a man will be for me. 😂 He and Bex are complete opposites, but somehow they are exactly what the other needs. Total yin and yang.

There was so much mystery surrounding Elliott, and watching everything slowly come together made all that waiting and slow burn completely worth it.
CJ knows how to torture us… slowly and in the best possible way. 😂
Definitely a must read! 🩸

🩸 Book Review Bleed By @c.j.primer 🩸

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was soo good!! I’m so happy Bex got her story. This has to be my new favorite read so far. I’m so team Bex ans Elliott all the way!! Elliott was perfectly made in the mind of CJ primer he’s everything you could ever ask for. I love love how she made Bex tiny compared to him. She’s tiny but she’s perfect. If you haven’t added this to your kindle please please do so now. But before you do please check out Bite which is the first book to this series.

I wanna say thank you to @c.j.primer for sending me this amazing arc I can’t wait for more of this series. Love you CJ

I’ve found my new favourite book by CJ Primer, and I’ve read them all. I enjoyed bite, but bleed! Ooof! LOVED it so much I couldn’t out it down.

Bex is now firmly at the top of my favourite FMCs. Small and sassy! Tattooist with mad artistic skills. Spicy mouth and always up for some fun and games - and not just in her life (IYKYK)

And Elliott - I’m melting. He’s up there with my fav MMCs now too. Very tall, (especially next to pocket rocket Bex!), uber smart (spoiler from Bite, he cured cancer for the human race!), built to climb, broody. And to top his gorgeousness out, slu**y little glasses 🤭

Can’t wait for book 3! The series keeps getting better!

Thanks for having me on your ARC team CJ. Always a pleasure ❤️‍🔥

We are back in CJ Primer's vampire world. I found myself fascinated with the science part of it, but I will admit that I'm a bit of a nerd. I enjoyed learning about more about the vampires and the bonds.
As for Bex and Eli, I really enjoyed the contrast between them. She is a lot in ao many ways. There were moments that I wasn't sure how I felt about her, but ultimately the girl is wild and I was there for it. Eli is controlled and strung so tightly together. Watching this play out was fun, funny and ultimately incredibly hot.

ARC REVIEW

"Bleed"
(Bite book 2)

by C. J. Primer

This is my first 🧛🏻‍♀️ vamp!re book and let me open this review with this: it is one of the sexiest books I have read.

I don't know if it is the vamp!re imaginary, the slow burn full of angst and anticipation, the characters, the erotic scenes, the desires, the lust. Or if it is all of them combined and mixed and... holy h€ll.

Beatrix (Bex) had a rough path: after her parents d!ed, she bounced from foster home to foster home, never belonging. Now she is an adult, struggling to pay her bills as a tattoo artist. One day she gets a business card to apply to Bite, a living bl00d donor agency, who provides live feeding to rich vamp!res. In one of those engagements, she meets a vamp!ire who is interested in her best friend and the connection she has to the king of the vamp!res. The solution to that threat? Bex becomes "the feeding source" to Elliott (Eli), a vamp!re award winning scientist.
What she doesn't expect? The obsession, the challenge, the grumpy and handsome and sexy vamp!ire.
And what he didn't expect? The petite, sassy, feisty, little mortal.

I loved these characters. They are so meant for each other, they complemet each other so well, they feel so right in all that darkness.

And the intimate scenes? Run, ma'am, run. Or you'll get a vamp!re obsession, like I did. This his H O T, procede with caution.

Please check your TW; I loved all the darkness, the v!olence, the sense of humor, the obsession, the s€x. Did I mention the s€x? Wow.

Releasing today, September 15

Thank you to the author for this ARC; it is a privilege to be part of her team.

"Vamps don't scare me. I bite too."
🧛🏻‍♀️
Bites on the inner thigh are vampires' favorite form of foreplay.
🧛🏻‍♀️
"Doc's pretty blunt. A lot of people mistake that for rudeness."

🧛🏻‍♀️
"You seem to have a habit of mistaking warnings for challenges."
🧛🏻‍♀️
"If you're hungry, you can bite me," I finally offer, hoping I don't sound half as desperate as I feel.
🧛🏻‍♀️
"How old are you, anyways?"
"It's rude to ask a vamp!re's age," he grumbles.

Vampires, darkness, obsession, and a romance that feels like it could bite back? Yeah… I was absolutely going to read this. 🩸🖤

bleed by C.J. Primer gave me exactly the kind of dark vampire atmosphere I was craving. There’s something incredibly addictive about taking the classic vampire romance and dropping it into a modern setting, and I loved the darker edge this story brought with it.

The atmosphere was definitely one of my favorite parts. It felt mysterious, seductive, and dangerous all at once, with that constant sense that something could go horribly wrong at any moment. 🌑🩸

I also really enjoyed the tension between the characters. There’s an intensity to their connection that kept me invested, and the darker romantic elements made their relationship feel anything but ordinary. There were definitely moments where I was thinking, this is probably a terrible idea… but I'm far too invested to stop now. 😂🔥

Bleed is an absolute knockout of a sequel! C.J. Primer has completely delivered with Book 2 of this series, and I am honestly going to have a hard time moving on from this world.
The main highlight of this book is the brilliant, top-tier slow-burn romance. The dynamic between the leads is delicious, electric, and keeps you hooked on every single page.
Beatrix (who strongly prefers Bex) is such an incredible FMC. She has so much spirit and feistiness, and her relentless urge to push buttons had me smiling and laughing out loud so many times. Her stubbornness completely pulled me into the story. I loved how she lives her life unapologetically and with maximum confidence. But beneath that tough exterior—shaped by the life she’s had to endure—is a softer side that she rarely shows, which makes her feel so raw and real.
And her sheer nerve! Shortening Albert’s name to "Albie" the very first time they meet says everything you need to know about her character. Speaking of Albert, he is just perfect and plays such a great role in how everything unfolds.
Then we have Dr. Faulkner, the ultimate MMC. He isn't your standard grumpy vampire trope; he’s exceptionally intelligent, deeply analytical, and has zero patience for small talk or emotional nonsense. Watching his story develop—and slowly unraveling the how and why behind his complex personality—completely got to me.
Between the fiery heroine, the intelligent grump, and a slow-burn romance that was executed to perfection, I devoured this book. C.J. Primer set the bar so high that I'm officially suffering from a massive book hangover! Highly recommend for anyone who loves dark fantasy and romance done right.

Bleed by CJ Primer is a standalone novel set in the same world as Bite, and once again, CJ proves she knows how to take a familiar genre and make it feel completely fresh.

Bex is a no-fucks-given, act-first-and-deal-with-the-consequences-later kind of girl. She has never been one to run away from danger—in fact, she actively runs toward it. So when an opportunity comes along to try something new while making some serious money, obviously she's going to take it.

Fast-forward a few months, and Bex finds herself in a pretty serious situation, needing protection from none other than Dr. Elliot Faulkner—a vampire and a scientist. I know. A vampire scientist. Weird, right? And somehow, that's exactly what makes this book so much fun.

Elliot is the complete opposite of Bex. He thrives on structure, facts, and logic. He's pragmatic, direct, and so focused on his way of thinking that he can come across as socially awkward. Bex, meanwhile, sees just about everything as a challenge—and she absolutely loves a challenge.

What I particularly loved about Bleed is how fresh it feels. The paranormal romance genre can often feel predictable, but CJ manages to take familiar elements and put her own spin on them. The result is something that feels genuinely different.

At this point, I've come to expect CJ Primer to make every book feel unique, but she still manages to surprise me every time. She has a real gift for creating stories and characters that feel completely their own.

So, do yourself a favor: go get your hands on Bleed and give yourself a few hours of CJ Primer's magic. You won't regret it.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Bex. She is sassy, sarcastic, and funny. She may not have had a great start in life. Having lost her parents at a young age and being in the foster care system, she is determined to live her life now to the fullest. But money worries are never far away. She decides to earn extra income through Bite, which lets vampires use her as a live feeding source. Her best friend Taylor has just bonded with the region's vampire king through the same service. When she goes on one of the Bite dates and gets asked personal questions about her friend and the King, Bex suddenly doesn't feel safe anymore. Will Vincent use her or Taylor to get to the King? When she goes to James and Taylor, they offer to keep her safe; will she take it?

Elliott, a brilliant scientist, is all about control. He weighs every possibility and probability, every outcome, before deciding. He offers his service to James, allowing Bex to be 'claimed' by him, which means no other vampire can touch her. This should keep her safe.

Bex has always had a thing for Elliott; the whole Scientist vibe has her running hot, hot, hot! But she soon finds out it won't be as smooth sailing as she had hoped. Yet the tension between them is getting more and more fraught. Elliott has rules for a reason, but Bex insists on tempting him at every turn. Can they come to a compromise? Can Bex get Elliott to relax more, to live life, not just work, and can Elliott be the one who gives Bex that safety, the calmness and stability that she never had?

Independent reviewer for BookSirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is the second book in the bite series, but you do not need to read bite before this. However, I personally recommend you do. It will give you a better picture of James and Taylor, who is Beatrix' best friend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book, as much as the first!

Bex, as she prefers, finds herself with a stalker and needs some protection. Enter Elliott, a doctor of the highest order and the one least likely to actually feed from her. But everything is not as it seems and I LOVED the twist there!

It's steamy, so very steamy! Bex is an adventurous gal, and there is much talk of her past escapades. While this is a M/F book, there is a F/F scene, which I feel is absolutely needed in this book! There is a group scene, but Bex and Elliott watch there. The chemistry is powerful between these two, once Elliott gives in to his desires.

Darker, I thought, that book 1. The stalker is getting closer and Bex is actually scared, even if she puts a front on. Someone wants to know about the vampire bonds, that James and Taylor have, and getting Bex, as Taylor's best friend, seems their preferred route.

Both Bex and Elliott have a say, but again, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far into the book before I get Elliott. I'm just greedy!

There is another book planned. When I read it, I had an idea who that might be, but thinking about it, he's a vampire and already made a comment about not being wealthy enough to join bite. So, now, I dunno! Want to read it though, cos darker as these are, they are really pushing my buttons!

4 very VERY good stars

I’m really happy that I started the series with this book because I don’t think that I would have clicked with the 1st FMC but boy oh great this FMC was. She’s just the definition of too much but in a really good way 🙂‍↕️

Vampire stories will always hold a special place in my heart but write a GOOD one with a really unique plot AND in a dark romance setting ?? Just consider me hooked already 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

The plot was really interesting and that plot twist ??? I really didn’t see it coming !! The fact that it was a slow burn was just the perfect icing on the cake 🤭

As previously stated, the FMC was just too much in the best possible way. She was outspoken, a social butterfly, strong headed, funny, smart, not a pushover !!, daring and caring. Just everything you could wish for from an FMC.
As for the MMC argh he was so good. There’s something about a quiet man who’s deeply obsessed with his person, so much so that he gets out of his way to do just about everything for that person without ever asking for anything back or even just mentioning it that just always hits right.

The writing was also good, at times a bit over descriptive for me, but it didn’t took me back from the story so that wasn’t a problem.

I definitely recommend this story to any dark vampire romance lovers, but if you’re looking for a proper shy pushover virgin who’s just the epitome of blushing bride you might want to skip this one out

3.5 but I'll round up because of Dr Elliott Faulkner and his one-word answers and his glasses. He was written just for me.

I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I did book 1 because......well. Let's just talk about the elephant in the room. Bex was a prostitute. I really think the author was trying to go for free spirit, wild/crazy girl - but she was _literally_ getting paid to hook up with vampires. Maybe if she'd decided to do a little more, have a few one-night stands, after her bite appointments I wouldn't have cared. But she would decide in advance, before she'd even met them!! I'm sorry, I just had a hard time getting passed it and I don't think I quite succeeded. She was also a functioning alcoholic, and again, I don't think the author knows that. She was drinking like a bottle of wine a night. Drunk at every social event. Drunk every time her and Taylor got together. It was just weird. And finally, what was with that whole part about Bex not being able to stay monogamous? Both her and Taylor LAUGHED about how Bex can't just be with one person, to the point Bex added it into their contract??? idkkkkkk, I'm sure there are people who felt like it was refreshing to see a fmc like that, and I'm happy for them, but she was just not for me.

No idea who the next book is about but excited to find out!

Book two of the *Bite* trilogy takes us back into the same dark, modern vampire world, where humans can sign up with an agency to be paid to be bitten by vampires. This time we’re following Taylor’s friend Bex, an outspoken tattooist who finds herself with a stalker and seeking protection through an exclusive donor relationship.

Enter Elliot Faulkner: notoriously difficult, incredibly smart vampire scientist, loaded and, importantly, owner of a pair of slutty little glasses.

This was completely different to book one, which I really enjoyed. Bex and Elliot are very much an opposites-attract pairing and there’s a great push-and-pull dynamic between them. She’s outspoken and impulsive, while he’s controlled, clinical and not exactly known for his sparkling personality.

I also really enjoyed the expansion of the vampire science and lore in this one. We get to understand much more about how the vampire science and society work, without losing the dark romance at the centre of the story.

A very different couple, a different relationship dynamic and a deeper dive into the world established in *Bite*. And apparently my vampire type now includes difficult scientists in glasses. Good to know.

Thanks to the author and BookSirens for the eARC copy.

Although *Bleed* can be read as a standalone, I’d recommend reading *Bite* first if you can. It isn’t necessary to understand or enjoy this story, but having the context from the previous book makes the situation and some of the characters a little easier to follow. That said, don’t let not having read *Bite* stop you from picking this one up.

Like all of J.C. Primer’s books I’ve read, I couldn’t put this one down. Her characters are always quirky and unique, and I love the way their personalities come through in the story. The character development and chemistry are just as good here, and the plot moves at a great pace without sacrificing the details that make the story work.

This one is a dark, spicy, modern take on vampire romance, told through dual first-person POVs. There’s death, sex, profanity, and violence, including one scene that gets a little gory, so definitely a book for mature readers. The vampire part probably makes some of that fairly self-explanatory.

No cliffhanger, and the main characters get their HEA, which is always a plus for me.

Another J.C. Primer book that kept me reading long past when I should have put it down.

Apparently sleep is optional when C.J. Primer puts me back in this vampire world.

The beginning gave me serious déjà vu, and then everything clicked—including remembering the roommate from the first book who gave her the card. I was so happy to get her story, and being back in this world reminded me exactly why I loved the first book so much.

The worldbuilding is just so immersive and fun. Once I started, I barely wanted to stop, and I finished in about two days. There are hardly any annotations because I was too busy actually reading. Very inconvenient for review purposes. Excellent for literally everything else.

And yes, we love a possessive vampire. “The man in me may let you go, but the monster never will.” Okay then. 👀

Also, as a scientist, the observation that science is significantly less exciting than television makes it look? Painfully accurate. That one earned a note.

I’m thrilled there’s a third book, but already sad about this coming to an end. I still have questions from the first two books, and I can’t wait to see how everything comes together. C.J. Primer, I love these vampires. Please excuse me while I wish this world were real.

Five stars. Three chili peppers. Very little sleep.

Since the very first book I have been absolutely, insanely obsessed with this world. So when I found out there was going to be a second book… well I can’t even describe how excited I was!!! Bleed was easily my most anticipated read of the entire year AND MAN I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.

Bleed is one of those books you can pick up after the shittiest day or week and instantly feel better. The kind that lets you completely check out of real life, free fall into another world and JUST BE HAPPY.

You know that one book or series you read as a kid that made you fall in love with reading? The one that gave you that feeling of absolute pure joy?

This series made me remember that feeling and I don’t think I realized how much I missed it until now.

This world, these characters, these books mean so much more to me than I can properly put into words. They gave me that spark again.

I love these characters more than is probably reasonable. I love this world. I love the way these books make me feel.

Some books are just books and then there are the ones that become a part of you…

This is that series for me. 🩸🖤

Night and day! I so enjoyed 'Bleed' - Book 2 of the Bite series. You don't really need to read 'Bite' first (although it gives some background and intro to characters in 'Bleed'). However, in my opinion, this second book shined. To me, Book 1 did not flow well, the characters seemed flat, and the sexy scenes seemed forced. 'Bleed' is still cast as a dark romance, and there is a trigger warning, but how and where those scenes played out slid into place and felt appropriate in their positioning...if that makes sense. The right time for the right scene. It also exhibited more plot and romance.
I found Bex's character open, brave, and mainly confidant. But she still has a growth profile. Her exuberant personality plays well against Elliott’s intelligent, restrained vampire intensity. If anyone can break through and loosen him up, Bex is determined to be the one.
There are twists, turns, surprises, and edge of your seat anxiety. I couldn't put it down and wonder if anyone we met in Book 2 will see their own story told in another installment.
Well done!

5⭐3🌶️

When CJ decided to write about vampires I was so excited, and while reading book 1 I was really loving Bex and was absolutely on board with knowing Bleed would be her story and even more here for this when Elliot was the MMC. So this was one of my highly anticipated releases this year, and of course life got in my way and couldn't read immediately. I am actually glad that happened now because I was able to actually savior this one, and savior it I did. I had the best time reading this.

I couldn't get enough of ether one of these two. Bex was a baddie, the way she grinded and hustled, her sassiness, literally just everything. I absolutely loved everything about her. and Elliot, where can I get one of him? Tall, dark, obsessive, possessive with all the "MINE" energy, but also calculated and controlled. And, when that control breaks danggggg.

I could go on and on about how this was everything that you could want in a book and more, but seriously find out for yourself when you read it. I can't recommend enough, and this will easily be on my reread rotation for years to come.

Thank you Book Sirens and C.J. Primer for the opportunity to ARC read this book. I devoured Bite last month, so when I saw the opportunity to read Bleed, I jumped. If you liked book one, you'll love book two.

I've always loved the feisty friend, and I had no doubt Bex would bring it. That said, about halfway through the book, I was ready to smack her. She's a brat. Girl, you're living with a rich, intelligent vampire paying you three million just to sit around and do nothing. He's even good-looking... everywhere. I love Elliot. He's my absolute favorite. The author's descriptions are so well written I can picture him standing in the kitchen, drinking his daily blood concoction in his gray sweatpants, while simultaneously pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

These two could not be more opposite. He's analytical, using his background in science. He takes in everything before making a decision. Bex is a free spirit and leaps before she thinks. When Elliot finally gives in to all of her desires, it's 100% worth the wait.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️.5

“I’ll just move in with some strange vampire and become a glorified Capri Sun. Love that for me.”

“You can try to walk out, but you won’t get far. The man in me may let you go, but the monster never will.”

This was one of my most anticipated reads from my fall TBR, and I wasn’t disappointed. I love this little universe that C.J. Primer has created. The vibes are everything, I mean dark, modern, vampire romance with suspense.. what more could you ask for?

Bex is a donor for Bite, a business that allows humans to become blood donors for vampires, and earn a decent profit in the process. After a Bite engagement leaves Bex unsettled, she ends up confiding in her best friend and her vampire mate. For her safety, they arrange for her to become an exclusive, live in donor for the devastatingly hot and famous scientist Elliott Faulkner.

I loved the Plot and the suspense of this story. The spice was also done extremely well. I adore Bex and her fiery attitude. Her inner dialogue had me cackling. I loved the dynamic between our MCs. Their chemistry and the slow burn was so good. I can’t wait for the next book!

It gave human x vampire, forced proximity, opposites attract, feisty FMC, brooding MMC, stalking, and stalking.

An Unlikely Pair Bleeds Into a Perfect Match 💙❤️

Bleed by CJ Primer was such a great read. I really enjoyed Bite, her first book in this vampire series, but I have to say I love the main characters in this book even more.

Bex, the female lead, reminds me a lot of another one of my favorite CJ characters, Avery from Vicious Luna. I love how Bex always holds her own and refuses to back down, despite being a human at a definite disadvantage when it comes to the vampires. Her wit, brutal honesty, and verbal sparring with Elliott are some of my favorite parts of the book.

Elliott is endearing in his own right, especially in the way he rationalizes and explains his thought processes. He’s overly analytical, while Bex helps him reconnect with his emotions and his formerly human side. On the surface, they seem like an odd pair, but it’s their differences that make them grow and develop such a strong and complementary relationship over time.

They truly have a special bond—in more ways than one—and I’m so glad Bex called to CJ to write their story! 🥰

I've been looking forward to book 2 in this series, and it did not disappoint one bit. CJ. Primer nailed it once again. It's addictive and easy to devour with just the right amount of darkness and heat.

Bex and Elliot are total opposites, but thats exactly what makes their dynamic so delicious. Bex is this feisty ball of chaos and just the thing this oraginezed broody vamp Elliot needs to shake up his existence. Who doesn't love a dirty talking man who goes absolutely unhinged and feral/possessive for his woman!? The spice was off the charts, their banter was hilarious, and their overall chemistry kept me devouring the pages like a woman starved.

Beneath the romance that was unfolding, there was the added mystery that added a nice unexpected twist and excitement to the overall story.

While each book could technically be read as a standalone focusing on a separate couple, I highly recommend reading the series in order to really get immersed into this world.

All the stars, no notes.

Thank BookSirens and CJ. Primer for the opportunity to read this book.

“You’ll always have a safe word, but I suspect you’ll never have to use it.”

I loved Bex since we met her in Bite and was so glad to learn that she would be getting her own story with Elliot.

This story had me hooked from beginning to end. I absolutely loved Elliot's possessiveness and protectiveness over Bex. I loved the push and pull between them. And the way that Bex loved pushing his buttons, and at times crossed lines that she shouldn't have, was absolutely entertaining.

I also really enjoyed the bot of mystery thay we got, and how not everything was what it seemed. I can't wait to see what CJ will bring to the table next in this universe.

Quote: “I want Beatrix. The woman herself is the anomaly. She accepts things about me I spent decades trying to eradicate. She looks directly at the monster and, rather than recoiling, reaches for it. Challenges it. Occasionally insults it. Frequently attempts to seduce it.”
