Lily's dreams have always been haunted by a mystical stranger with green eyes, until the day comes that she unexpectedly meets that stranger in a club. He's wealthy and handsome, but those traits aren't the ones that mark him as being not like average men. In truth, he possesses a surreal power, and a set of angelic wings...

An archangel turned outcast, Samael has wandered Earth for eons, unable to belong in either Heaven or Hell. However, he still holds a secret that both the angels and the fallen ones need to acquire at all costs.

As soon as Lily meets Samael, her life is irrevocably altered. She herself is the secret at the heart of the war between angels and demons, and there's only one person who cares for her enough to try and save her from her fate: the exiled creature, Samael.

(Special thanks to the author Suren Hakobyan for providing me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

This book has a very interesting concept. Who doesn't love Nephilim stories with hot, enigmatic, green-eyed gorgeous angels in it? The moment I started it, my first impression was the great writing style of the author-- it's easy to grasp and digest.

So what made me rate it only two stars? Well, the thing is, I just could not feel invested to the book. I have issues with the main character Lily who constantly annoyed me because of her attitude. Samael is an okay character though, but I think his transition was too instant and fast.

As much as I like the interesting premise, I could not bring myself to rate this book more than two stars. It fell short on several parts. I also think the romance was off. The action scenes were okay but not totally compelling. Nevertheless, I love how the book concluded with a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving the readers anticipating for the next installment.

3.5 stars.

Goodforsaken is new adult novel inspired by Christian beliefs.Book differentiates from some fundamental beliefs(for example God doesn't appear to be all knowing and he definitively isn't all seeing) but never goes into blasphemy, which is too bad as I love a good blasphemy.

Two main characters are Lily, bookworm that prefers solitude and Semael, Archangel banished from both hell and heaven. While Lily has few annoying moments she is mostly likeable character. What I don't like about her is that she is mostly passive character, even though most the book is from her point of view she feel like side character in Semael's story, I hope she takes more active role next book.Semael on the other hand is much more intriguing. While their relation takes large part of the story I didn't find it particularly interesting.
On the other hand main storyline about fight between haven and hell is really interesting. As I said God in this book isn't all knowing, some characters imply that he learns on his mistakes and Lucifer isn't colorless villain driven by suffering and destruction, he is genuinely intriguing character with his own motives that are not that simple and he isn't the only one.
Unfortunately this is only first book in series and it ends with cliffhanger.

Also one thing that affected the grade was slow start, I was slightly bored in first third of the book but when story finally takes off it becomes really good..

First of all, i would like to thank the author again for giving me a free ebook copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Suren Hakobyan!

Now, i'll be brief. I enjoyed it! It was a good read and it definitely kept me awake while i was commuting to work and back home. It especially got more interesting once they entered the church. And holy mother of God..that prison. Dudael made me nervous as hell XD i was on the train coming back home from work when i got to that corridor of sex in the prison, and there was a guy sitting next to me. i'm pretty sure he read something XD don't even wanna know what he was probably thinking when he read all of those insanely disturbing things that surely scarred me for life XD i think the angels'/fallen angels' personalities were well described, although i wanted to see a more fun mischievous side from Samael...being the angel of death that was said to be good and evil, i would have liked to see some really sarcastic and funny replies. maybe he'll lighten up a little bit in the next book XD Michael and Gabriel kinda annoyed me XD Lily was an ok girl. I liked Raphael and Beelzebub too..even though he was a cowardly evil bastard XD overall...it was an enjoyable read and i will definitely buy the next book because i do wanna find out if maybe God will appear or if he will have a standoff with Lucifer XD or if they'll get to the Island of Death...or if Eve will appear or if Lily and Lilith with have a stand off XD too many ifs!

I would like to mention I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

First I give this 7 stars. I've read previous books from Suren and his archangel books are amazing, this one being no exception. The way Suren tells the stories puts a whole perspective to me on what really could have happened between GOD and Lucifer and The Garden of Eden. I'm big into self learning and now after reading part 1 I'm definitely going to learn some things I feel I need to know. I'm big on Angels and I think that's one of the reasons Suren's books appeal to me.

So can't wait for part 2!!

I would, firstly, like to think the author for the opportunity to read this book and for the gift of the ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I finished this book a week ago and I've struggled with how to write this review. The idea of the book is solid: a woman falls in love with an angel; an angel falls in love with a woman. It's the execution that falls apart.

The book had some good ideas and I think with work and revision, this story could become something really wonderful and deep.

Big thanks to the author for giving me an advanced free ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.

I haven't done a book review in a long time, and this will be the first time I'm writing one in goodreads. I hope it goes well as I tend to either blab or can't write anything at all.

I'll edit this entry once I'm finished reading. I'm a bit (that's an understatement) excited to start with it.

************************************EDIT************************************

Before I start with my review, I would like to say that I'm no expert in writing nor am I a professional critic.

I'm not going to start this with a short summary, you can read that on the book description.

I'm giving Godforsaken 2 stars.

I don't know. I'm not worthy of giving a review like this. I think the concept was great, a few more character and story development could make this better. I think the ending was good, too. I'm into endings like that. (That makes me wonder, is there going to be a sequel? Because aside from the ending, some explanations were vague.) Maybe I'll read this again and think differently.

Anyhow, thanks again to Mr. Suren for the ARC. I really appreciate it. This is my honest review, I hope this would help.

My rating: 3.5

First of all, I’d like to thank the author for giving me a free copy of this book before the release date.

Also, I'd like to say that I've never read something like this before. Sure, I've read The Fallen series of Sniegoski, which is similar to Hakobyan's Godforsaken in the subjects and the themes it deals with, but I really didn't like Sniegoski's book. I hated it. So I was skeptic when I started Godforsaken. I thought I would not like it much. BUT I found it really interesting. Also, I had to leave in stand by Sniegoski's series because it was painful to read. But this series... I just want to read the second book now.

I'd like to point out some of the things I like of this book avoiding spoilers (which is hard because I feel an urge to quote all the parts I liked):

-God is not an omniscient and omnipresent being. He is also struggling for power and is affected by the war between Heaven and Hell.
-I loved the descriptions of the characters, the Garden and the scenes in Dudael.
-The book is really easy to read, which was good for me because now I'm in the middle of mid-term exams. So if you're looking for something light and interesting, this is the book for you.
-It made me look up things about religion, so you end up learning a lot.
-The process of emotional change which Samael undergoes: from the begining, when he's emotionless, the middle of the story, when he discovers feelings and is confused, and finally to the end of the story, in which he accepts his feelings and protects them (I'd like to expand here analysing Samael's character and showing the change throught quotes, but I'd be spoiling, so I'll leave this here).
-This has nothing to do with the story, but I also liked the cover.
-In the things I like I could add: Raphael. I loved him. And also Nancy.

Some things that I didn't like were:

-There are a few typos and grammatical mistakes.
-There are no marks that indicate the change of point of view.
-There's one attitude of Lily that does not fit his character (that being a good girl with good grades that never has a date and is very educated): The part in which Mike's friend wants to prevent her from drinking alcohol and take care of her and she acts kind of like a... well, like a bitch.
-When Nancy mentions the birth mark and says that it looks like a Saint Grail, I thought it was not very realistic because if you were a normal university student and you saw such a birth mark, you'd say that it looked like a cup, not like the Saint Grail. But, well, that's a minor thing.

That, being said, I must clarify that this is just my opinion and I’m not an expert. I would consider revising the book to correct some mistakes concerning the grammar and the style of the book. But the story is good and well written in the sense that it’s very dynamic and the descriptions are great. Really, I loved the descriptions. I’d like to read the next book to see the development of some characters that I felt could have been deeper (Michael, Raphael, Gabriel…).

I recommend this book to people that like religious themes, obviously, because this books makes you curious about some things and you end up looking them up and learning; to people that like Fifty Shades of Gray because I found Samael strangely similar to Christian Gray (just at the beginning and middle of the story); and to young adults who are looking for something simple but good.

I’ll end this review with a song that reminded me of Samael: O Death, Jen Titus

The author kindly offered me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. For that I'm ever so grateful. The book, however, wasn't right for me, or maybe, more accurately, judging from all the 5-star reviews, I wasn't right for this type of story.

I guess I interpreted from the description that this was a new take on a story of angels and humans - purposely linking a contemporary paranormal story to the very old story of the biblical beginning of times. In addition I was intrigued by the premise that dreams seemingly destined the MC to meet someone specific, but unknown to her, and that those dreams had been part of her ever since she was a little girl. IMO this sold her off as special, like she had a gift - or power of sorts - and for the first pages I did find her interesting. I liked the fact that she appeared guarded, introverted and spacecadet-ty. Unfortunately for me, she was only likable for a very short part of the beginning, then she transformed into something entirely ridiculous. Her behavior, her thoughts and her lack of common sense, made me indifferent to her and I had a hard time taking her reasoning seriously. In fact this MC bothered me more than the super-annoying Sookie Stackhouse from TrueBlood, and I really didn't care for her either.

The apparently amazing angel, might be a perfect angel-pendant to the Fifty Shades of Grey "hottie" Christian - I can't really compare them though, as I haven't, and won't, read FSoG. I particularly dislike books that make women out to be mindless bimbos. Given the choice I wouldn't have finished this book, unfortunately I felt unable to rate and review it fairly if I didn't.

When offered to read the book I was so excited about it, that I went and read the short story prequel right a way. Though that story, and this, could do with a bit of editing, knowing more about the angel probably helped me a bit while reading this. I did spend quite a lot of time researching Angels in Christianity and Judaism in an effort to make sense of where the story was headed. That is something I don't usually do. I did however, feel that I needed facts instead of the never ending praises of the MC and "her" Angel's unearthly beauty. Both of them are so profoundly great looking, and their physical appearance is so, unearthly, that no other being could possibly possess a beauty as unearthly as theirs'. Obviously my point is that although they are both sold of as lookers, the personalities come back wanting... So does the story, there really isn't much room for the actual "Angel-business" or for the MC's partaking in said "business", everything is just so.. No, I won't get into that again. The story will possibly unfold in the sequel, as the "love" between the Daughter of Man and the Angel has certainly been established in this.

I did quite like the "lesser" angels, Michael and Raphael, and I might also have liked Bezelbub and Lucifer, had they been properly introduced. In fact, I would rather change Lily's name (back) to Lilith and ship her with Lucifer, that is, if she turns the power in her brain back on, otherwise she might as well stay on as trophy to "the master of the universe".

I so wanted to like this more, I really wish it had been my kind of book. Anyway, the author is definitely imaginative in his writings, and I am still ever so grateful for having had the chance to read it.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Although there are tons of books out there that are about angels and fallen angels, this one is a serious breath of fresh air into the genre. I love the concept of the story and devour every single detail that the author gave me about all the angels - holy and fallen, their histories, The Eden, also about Lily - human and her ancient history of who she is and who were her descendants and everything else that the book centers around. I also love the relationship between Lily and Samael, even if he has a hidden motives why he have to protect her from archangels and the fallen angels.

The pace was quick and I found myself eagrly reading to find out what was going to happen next. It has all my favorite, paranormal, angels, romance I mean what else can I ask for.

I couldn't get enough of all the vivid descriptions and intricate details throughout the book and I really hope that we get more of the same in the next installment.

If you like angel books and you want a new twist on them read this book it is wonderful!

First of all, I'd like to thank the author for sending me a free ebook copy in advance of the release for an honest review.

The beautiful cover captured my attention from the first minute, great choice! So on to the book itself. I really liked the writing style. We get a glimpse of everything, from the surroundings to the characters thought in great details. I loved the concept of the story. Sure there are tons of books about angels/fallen angels but this book is really a breath of fresh air for me. The book had my attention from the very fist page till the last one and honestly I can't say this about most of the books nowadays.

I was given an ARC for an honest review.
The author has done a wonderful job in writing this story. The dynamic of war between heaven and hell is a lot more intricate than we thought. As Lily learns she is a descendant of Eve, Samael has figure out how to save her and Heaven from falling. I can't wait to read the next instalment to this story.

First of I would like to thank the author who so kindly sent me a free ebook copy in advance of the release in exchange for an honest review.

So this was a rare book indeed for me. From the first line the story gripped me and pulled me in. Instantly I had all these questions in my head. Where is Lily? What’s the Glade? Woah, who is that man and where can I get one? Okay yes those eyes behind that gate are creepy no thanks.

Something else I really enjoyed and had a giggle at early on was Lily’s friendship Nancy. Who I also adored. She was so concerned about Lily and just seeing that in the book was refreshing. I’m always enamored by strong female friendships in books.

Lily is such a relateable character. She’s bookish, loves to dream and be left alone and I picked up on hints of anxiety. But what I found most refreshing was a female protagonist who was beautiful and knew it, and also could look after herself and had such inner strength that it blew me away. This is so rare and I’m really glad we learn early on that she’s not going to be one of those cliche character types. She’s also very family centric, worried more about her aunt and uncle than herself. I’d struggle to find someone who can’t relate to her on some level, and commend the author for writing her so well that she literally jumps off the page into existence in your mind. She has to be up there with some of my favourite heroines.

Angel books have always intrigued me but I could never make up my mind whether I loved or loathed them. This book, just wow. If even half the angel books out there are even a fraction as good as this one was then just wow.

This book is for mature readers. It has sex and other things in it but please, please, please, do not be put off by that. It’s not just a smut book. I would not class it as a smut book at all. The story is so gripping and the mature stuff compliments the plot instead of overtaking it. I would highly recommend this book to everyone. The author has such a fresh and distinct voice, his characters come alive on the pages and the plot OH MY GOD THE PLOT. Nancy and Lily’s friendship was just so wonderful. I loved reading about it. Just read this book. Do it. I cannot wait for the other books. I'm in love with this series already.

I found Samael rather adorable and amazing and he was definitely the star of this book for me. I adored him so much, and can I just recommend this book one more time?

Samael ending up tearing my heart out, I loved him so much. Especially when he was stomping through the puddles. Lily became a huge favourite of mine as the book progressed and the war was so intricate and detailed and not anything cliche. I adored this book so much.

A couple of points I didn’t like.
-Lily morphing into a huge bitch in the club with someone who was just trying to make sure she didn’t get hurt. Yet when her best friends boyfriend flirts with her and makes suggestive comments near constantly she goes along? Part of me started to hate her for this, just like I hate that attitude in real life, but it got better.

-Mike constantly hitting on Lily in a sly way. That just weirded me out. Mainly because it’s her best friend’s boyfriend and he does it in front of Nancy. Yet when Nancy makes even a tiny joke about Samael, he loses the plot.

All in all definitely an author that’s on my “buy everything of theirs” radar. And definitely one of my favourites so far. I just cannot express how much I loved this book.

Thank you to the author for sending me a free e-book version for me to read and give an honest review. I enjoyed reading this book, the story kept me interested and i was actually caught by the fast paced action and the writing style really made me see clearly the sceneries, the characters, the whole atmosphere like i was actually there with the angels.Obviously it is a fantasy book about angels, the conflict between Lucifer and the armies of Heaven. We find out there are 9 archangels, the eldest being Lucifer and the youngest, Samael, and that God gave each one something special, but they also must follow some rules.First of all, we get to know Lily, an orphan college girl, very beautiful, who keeps seeing white leaves and a tall, gorgeous man appears in her dreams showing her some gates to a garden.Lily lives a normal life with her one and only true friend, Nancy. Both of them are going to college, but Lily has always been withdrawn, with no intention of having a boyfriend except the man from her dreams. All her world is about to change completely when on a night out with Nancy and her boyfriend Mike, Lily feels attracted to a mysterious man, she being the only one that sees his grey wings. He tries to get close to her but Lily rejects him even though she was totally in love(ofcourse he is Samael, an archangel with great power and a dark past).Samael is the coldest of the archangels, he is a loner, an angel and demon at the same time, not belonging to either Heaven or Hell.Samael has his own agenda, but Lily somehow brings some changes into his solitary life. When it is revelead that Lucifer gained his power again and that he only needs Lily to break into the garden of Eden where it all started, Samael tries to save Lily from both Heaven and Hell. With help from archangel Raphael, Samael and Lily need to get into the hellish prison Dudael, where Azazel, the former gate keeper of Eden, might have some answers to their questions.I enjoyed this book and i hope one day to have the possibility to read the sequel to this story. It,s dark , intriguing, scary, and angelically sexy.I am always interested in stories about angels, especially when archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel are present and adding to that , Lilith the queen of hell, well then, it is captivating, and remind me of one of my favourite TV series Supernatural. The author of this book has an amazing quality in my opinion.Suren Hakobyan will never offer the reader a predictable ending, so you will never know if it is a happy or sad ending or somewhere in between, because you simply have to read the book in order to find that out.He is realistic, he offers realistic endings. I don,t really have a favourite character in this book, because each of them has qualities and flaws but i am a fan of how the story unfolds.Read Godforsaken-shade of light, it won” t be a waste of time at all.I have to finally mention that this book is for adult readers, as it contains some gruesome depictions of what goes on in the Dudael prison and also sex scenes.

This ebook was an offer from the author in exchange for an honest opinion.

The story of this book is set in the present world and follows the Shade of Light series from this author, the first volume Passion of an Angel, which happened at the beginning when God created the Garden of Eden and its main character is Lucifer.
In this book we read a little more about what happened after Lucifer was banished from heaven and the war he fought to dethrone God and the role that each archangel played in his defeat.

I enjoyed reading about all the intrigue among the angels, the world created here was very sharp and detailed. I enjoyed reading about the archangels and the different way they view the world and their actions, some only see the world in black and white while others are more open mind and are more flexible.
The narrative is fluid and we were not stuck at any point, it can be read very well and the story itself can hold us easily.

Regarding the characters, one of the main ones is Lily a descendant of Eve (the Garden of Eden) and because of his lineage she is very important to Lucifer. I couldn't like her, I found her a bit bland, very harsh on her answers/conversations to the only friend she have (I wonder why?). I also didn't like the way she throws herself to Samael. Honestly I don't like at all when characters fall immediately in love, it made me lost interest from the romantic part and found it a bit forced. From the beginning, the romantic part was part of the background for me, I was always more interested in knowing what was going to happen with the angels.

Samael is one of the archangels and was the one who sided with Lucifer during the war and then betrayed him, causing him to lose the war. So between those two things do not go very well. As he redeemed himself, God gave him custody of the Garden. So Lucifer to defeat God must go first through the garden and there stand all the action. I liked Samael because he is that kind of character that always has a plan for everything, he does nothing that has not already planned. I really like to read about characters like him, you never know what will happen next, he's unpredictable. I don't know if he really likes Lily or not, but I don't care :P

Thankfully, there will be more books because in the end we were right on the edge of war and I really want to see how this is going to unroll.
I recommend this book for those who like stories of angels and don't mind with a little boring romance :)

The Nerdy Book Addict's Blog

I had a great time reading this book. I have to be honest though. When I had read the first couple pages, the story really didn't spark me. But after I had finished the first chapter I was completely sucked into the story and couldn't get away from the book. I just had to read the whole thing. So I finished this book quite fast as I was eagerly wanting to know what was going to happen next between Lily and Samael. Lily, the main character of the story was a huge daydreamer, like myself. So I could really relate to her. She had dreamed about her future and what was destined for her, although she did not realize this. She was just a typical college student living with her best friend, Nancy, trying to just get by in life. Though Nancy often worried about her due to all the daydreaming and not really being present in her real life. Once Lily had met Samael you could tell that these two were meant to be right from the start. Their relationship is something that ever person wishes to have. Someone who you know will protect you from anything. They had a very strong bond . These characters in this book were well thought out and they all had a purpose. I do have to admit that there were a lot of spelling and grammar errors. The author tended to use " instead of ' throughout the whole book. The different points of view also changed abruptly and I had gotten lost a few times due to that. Those were my only complaints. This book is also pretty set on the Christian Religion, so if you are into the religious stories and folklore, I would highly recommend this book for you. The author did an absolute amazing job at all the scenery's descriptions and I quite often felt like I was really standing there in the middle of fields, clubs, houses, etc. I was a bit sad that they story had ended so quickly and I just wanted to read more and wanted to find out how Lily and Samael fought their ultimate battle, but I guess I will have to await the next title. In conclusion, I highly recommend this book for adults over 18, as there is some language and sexual content, Romance, fantasy, and religious book fans, or anyone that would love a nice quick and smooth read.

Please note: I have received an ARC of this eBook, from the author in exchange for a review.

The author of this work gave me a free copy of the eBook in return for an honest review.

By some crazy act of synchronicity, this book as well as the TV show Dominion (Syfy) both made appearances in my life at almost the exact same time. If you are a fan of Dominion, then this book will probably appeal to you. Both take angels with whom we are probably already familiar, and present them to us in new ways. The angels are given backstories, and the concepts of good and evil are blurred. We are asked to examine intent (e.g. was Lucifer in love with Eve or was he merely trying to corrupt her), and question why a character is behaving in a certain way, rather than automatically placing a character within a narrow category of good vs. evil.

I have read my fair share of supernatural romance/sci-fi. Love stories between humans and vampires, humans and werewolves, humans and ghosts, humans and aliens, yada yada yada...have all crossed my path. But, this is the first time I have read a book dealing with romantic love between a human and an angel. Some might be offended by this questionably sacrilegious storyline, but I found it intriguing. However, I will have to say that the delivery of that storyline didn't quite hit the mark at times. For example, I found myself laughing out loud when during a love scene between Lily and Samael, the author refers to Lily's butt as her "buttocks."

I feel like these moments of misdelivery (if you will) are probably due to a language barrier, or to times when translation from one language to another was not quite accurate. For example, in the U.S. native English speakers probably wouldn't say, "I will see you at college," as I noted in one passage. We might say, "See you in class," or "See you at school." And we certainly wouldn't say, "He grabbed her buttocks," unless we were joking around. I also came across many instances where a word or two had been left out of a sentence, and I am the type of person who will take a pencil and "fix" errors like these in library books.

So, overall the story is interesting, but the book itself needs further editing to prevent those "eek" moments that draw the reader away from the story, and instead cause her/him to focus on the typographical/usage errors.

The book starts languidly and eases you right into the heart of the story immediately.
The perfect rich supernatural guy goes for the ordinary nobody girl theme really fell flat in this story. The character interaction was weak, the basic structure isn't even built up enough to fall apart and the conversational dialogue is nonsensical.
The feelings of this introverted female lead are unrealistic at best and she is ridiculously dramatic. She is supposed to be an adult, but she has immature tendencies. I don't understand how an adult woman could be on such opposite sides of the spectrum regarding the male lead. She wants the guy with every fiber of her being, but she doesn't want anything to do with him. He hasn't done anything to solicit her conflict. I don't understand the reasoning behind the inner conflict of the female lead at all.
The female lead's friendship is not believable. Any true friend would have driven her to the hospital as the female lead spiraled further into what would be perceived as a delusion with the way she answered questions. And then, on top of that, her inconsistent friend spouts nonstop about forgetting the man the female lead is infatuated with then purposefully leads her directly into his path at the first opportunity.

The whole of the text needs a good proofreading. I did my best to hold my device carefully so as not to shake any more words out of the sentences, and the grammar and punctuation need some work. To top it off the story ends with unfinished business. The whole story has an unedited draft feel to it. There are parts that serve no purpose to further the story and should be edited out completely and nearly every part that shouldn't be cut should be subjected to rewrites. To be frank, there is a lot of work that can be done to this book in order to create a good story, but it isn't there yet.

I have never read anything by Suren Hakobyan before, so I went in this not knowing what to really expect. I must admit, I am pleasantly surprised. It took me a couple of chapters to get a feel for the book, but once I did, I basically could not stop reading it.

The author has an interesting style and the descriptions of settings are wonderful, especially the way he describes unearthly and majestic places like the Garden of Eden. To some extent, I enjoyed the love story between Samael and Lily, though I thought Samael was cheating by using his charm to seduce the girl. It’s like Lily has fallen for his charm not for his personality.
What I liked the most about the book was the build-up for war between heaven and hell. I liked the few confrontations between angels and demons like the one outside the city and the one in Dudael. I was expecting a full-blown battle at the end, but I guess I will have to wait for the sequel.

What made me little bit uncomfortable when reading this book was how the author altered the story we all know about Adam and Eve. I mean we are all the heir of Eve, not Lilith! As someone who believes in God, I didn’t like the way God was presented in this book. It was like God has ‘limited’ power, and it was up to archangels to defend heaven from Lucifer’s army. Besides, God was totally absent and all the major decisions were in the hands of Michael, Lucifer, and Samael.

Apart from this, it was a good and gripping story and overall well written. I would recommend it for everyone who is interested in the supernatural, mystery, and fantasy.

Disclaimer: I was given a free copy in exchange for this review. However this does not impact my opinions of the work.

Oh my goodness. I am really getting tired of authors writing books about females that are suppose to save the world but are complete frigging idiots. Crying like an ass for everything. This chick takes the award as dumbest female ever!!

She was a hot mess from the beginning up until the end. She asked the most asinine questions and just wouldn't shut up. She put herself in the stupidest situations imaginable for no good reason. At first I thought, okay, maybe she is under their spell, but then the author made sure we knew that she couldn't be be-spelled because of who she was. Well then WTF!!

Things were happening in this book that just made no sense or shouldn't have been written in to begin with, conversations between the angels was sooo confusing a lot of the time, and I would have to read that section over more than once.

Her room mate, who gives a rat ass about her and her relationship with her man. The scenes where she was involved were just wrong and a waste of paper.

In real life, if this girl was the savior to mankind and heaven we would all be dead!!!

Not going to lie though, the story itself intrigued me, I love different takes on Angels, Demons and religion, but no matter how interesting a story is, it has to flow correctly.

This did not flow.

This book needed an editor, and if it has one, fire his ass and get another.

I received a free ebook in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Suren!

I was hesitating between 2 and 3 stars (please, Goodreads, why can't we give half stars), but the last part of the novel was gripping, so I'm rounding it up.

Let's start with the things I didn't enjoy that much. First of all, I didn't like Lily, the female protagonist, that much. She's stereotypical and she's mostly defined by her attraction to Samael. I understand that he's an angel and incredibly handsome, but I just don't buy the irresistible attraction - it's too cliche. I also found Nancy strange and Mike quite creepy. In fact, most characters need more depth.

On the other hand, however, most supernatural beings are originally depicted. I found Raphael especially intriguing, even though he's just a secondary character. I also enjoyed the interesting backstory of Lucifer, God and the others. I like it that it was modified from the Bible story - we heard that one too many times, so this was refreshing. The last third of the book was action-packed and engaging, promising an exciting sequel.

So, all in all, I think this would make a really good series if it got a kickass editor who would polish the rough edges.

First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Hakobyan for sending me a copy of his latest book for review. I respect him for putting his hard work out there for public review and was thrilled that he chose me to offer an opinion on Godforsaken. Unfortunately, I struggled with my review of Godforsaken. I found the concept intriguing as the plot unfolded and really thought this novel was headed for success, but as i continued reading, the writing style seemed a bit stilted, and the plot began to feel like just another take on angels vs. demons with a touch of romance as the connector. There were also numerous errors( overlooked by the editor?)which served as a distraction for me. it seemed like the book was written for a teenage audience, but the sex was too much for a younger audience. I also felt the writing style and overall plot left a lot to be desired for an adult audience. I am sorry that this novel was just not for me, but i really do appreciate the opportunity to express my opinion and I hope Mr. Hakobyan will continue to keep writing and keep getting better.

I was offered this book in exchange for an honest review. I don't like to give story lines and plots away with a review, so keeping to the bare minimum, here goes:

It was okay. I did have hard time getting in to the story line, and it took me a few days to get through it. I found myself questioning relationships between characters, and the timeline of a few events. I will admit this was a fresh play on a story as old as time. It just didn't flow as smoothly as it could have.

The vernacular of a few characters seemed inappropriate at times, and descriptive phrases could have been better. "I will see you at college".....I do not know a single college student who would say this. "see you in class", "see you at school", "see you after calc", those are more believable, since it was already established they were in college. And sorry, but "inflated breasts" stuck with me through the entire story.

While I don't like leaving stories hanging, I don't think I would be able to push through the next part of the tale.

Got this on Kindle for free.

Wonderful read!!! I am one who really has to get into the books or they do not hold my attention. Being disabled, it affects my memory and attention span so it takes something pretty good to keep me to the end. I do not give 5s easily and 4s are easier but still not a given. This is a definite 4.

We are seeing more of the "mortal" and monster, immortal, etc. I love this genre and that is what drew me to this book. I entered for another one of Suren's books and he told me about this one. I am so thankful he did. With angels and demons not being ones we think of as being able to fall in love, this is a very refreshing idea. I love that it starts with her dreams leading her, even before she knew what they meant and I easily got into the story.

Thank you to Suren for this read/adventure. As to referring this one, my daughter has already informed me she will be reading it based on my comments about it. Many of my friends will be told about it, and I am now on the look out for more of his work.

Thank you to Suren Hakobyan for letting me know the book was offered digitally for free.

Instead of getting into the individual characters and plottings of the book, I decided to just give a basic review on the overall feeling and personal thoughts of it. First off, the general story and concept of the story was not bad. I did get the feeling that, perhaps, the book may have been translated from a different language or English is not the first language of Suren Hakobyan. In either case, the spelling or language should have been caught by someone who edited, or proof read it. I felt the story was being rushed and some of the dialogue had much to be desired for realism (even though I do know it is a work of fiction). I did like the aspect of the ending being a cliffhanger. I believe that with more time and energy spent on the book, to expand on descriptive writing and dialogue, it would have the potential to be a great book. I am sorry, but this is a sequel I will not be finishing. All the best in your future writings Suren Hakobyan.

Welcome to this book review !

ARRRGH so much feels in this book. The writting is so BEAUTIFUL it makes you feel everything in a much deeper level than you think you would and the characters are so relatable and realistic. I loved the way the world was presented and LOVED the fact that you could get into this book/world so easily. The thing that surprised me the most is how the author could put so much feelings into his work it's usually a trait that I find most often in women authors. But that made me love the book even more. The love story was great and through the whole book I was on my toes and also made me un-able to put it down. It took me so little time to read the book, actually I just didn't sleep, like at all... Not my fault it was so addicting ! I TOTALLY recommend this book just go into it not knowing much, just like me, you will LOVE it !

thank you for reading, and please go check my blog for more reviews:

This was given to me as a 'first-reads' for a honest review.

Lily is a marketing student used to keeping her nose in a book and mind on anything else but her dream boy. She dreams nightly of a tall, muscular, black haired adonis leading her away from a desert landscape toward the gates of paradise. He brings her promises of love and a true home in this garden.

On a misguided night out with her roommate, Lily ends up in the arms of a devilishly handsome green eyed stranger with grey wings. Who is Samael Eden? Why does this wealthy, mysterious business mogul want her? And why can't she resist him? Is he and angel or a devil? Why is she so important?

This is a great fantasy and romance novel! The war between heaven and hell is always an intriguing topic but this story adds some interesting layers on intricacies. Eve's decendens, the angel's needs to protect the border of heaven from Lucifer's attempts of overtaking heaven....I can't wait for part two!!

Wow, I wasn't sure I would like this book based on the description. But I was very wrong! I enjoyed the underlying story of good vs evil, love vs hate, and faith. The fact that it is full of hot sexy angels is another plus, and yes, there are sex scenes, hot and fast..and not to detailed, just enough. Really loved this one! I got sucked right into the characters lives, and really would love a friend like Nancy. And the end of course is a huge cliffhanger.... really want to read the next one for the battle over Eden. So much to this book that hides between the lines. I just really enjoyed it, and couldn't put it down. Very enjoyable read!

I received a copy of this book to read and review. I was not paid for my review, and all opinions are my own.

Firstly I would like to thank the author who send be and ARC for an honest review.

When I started to read I thought that it was too slow pace for me. But when Lily met Samael I really started to enjoy the story. The authors beautifully capture the struggle between Lily and Samael but the absolutely favourite was how the author describe the relationship between the archangels their battle between Heaven and Hell. The dynamics between them are more complicated and connected that we thought. Because Eve is a key Samael would need to fight for their survival and love.

I can't wait to read the next book

I received this book for my honest review.

Lily is a college student but seems somewhat withdrawn, living her life through her dreams. Her dream becomes reality when the man she has been dreaming about shows up at a club she goes to for her friends birthday.

I must admit this book caught me by surprise. Starting off as a typical romance then twisting and turning into several different diverse scenarios involving all walks of life here on earth and beyond.

I found this book engaging and soon lost track of time while reading it. Despite a few errors I thoroughly enjoyed the writers style, finding it quite refreshing while keeping the twists and turns engaging.

I was given a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was very interesting. I can honestly say that I have never read anything that compares to this book, nor have I read anything by Suren Hakobyan before.

As a huge fan of paranormal romance, I found this book to be wonderful. Although I love the romance aspect in any book, I find that sometimes the purpose or storyline gets lost in the gushy scenes- this however, was not the case in this book.

Hakobyan does a wonderful job of creating an incredible storyline full of suspense and intrigue, as well as incorporating a great romantic story.
