Scarlett O'Brien is busy running her family popcorn business in both London and New York; she also runs a charity in New York helping people find long-lost family and when she has a chance, planning her perfect wedding to Sean Bond. Her best friend Oscar is giddy in love while Maddie is having marital troubles. A celebrity/socialite needs Scarlett's help in exchange for a hefty donation to Scarlett's Dragonfly Trust, giving Scarlett a third job! She's having a hard time juggling everything. When rumors start flying about Scarlett's business, she worries she'll lose her beloved Dragonfly Trust. Who could be so terrible as to spread lies about a charity? Maddie's new relationship is also cause for alarm with Scarlett. Will she ever find the time to walk down the aisle?

This book started off slow. I thought Scarlett's first world problems were so boring. We should all be so lucky to be able to jet set between New York and London and run not one, but two businesses. Then the mystery was introduced and I wondered how it would be resolved. Though I picked up on the villain right away, I also wanted to know how that was going to turn out and suddenly I had a hard time putting the book down. I even skipped ahead to the end to see how it was resolved before going back and reading the middle. I didn't know this was the 3rd book in the series (My library didn't have the second) so I felt like I was missing something. Scarlett does a lot of recapping and introducing new characters but I still felt a bit lost, especially in regards to Jamie. I was shocked she had a half-brother from her father! It seems so unlike him. I'd like to know the backstory there but since the library doesn't have that book, I'm OK with what I know. I was taken aback by a throwaway racist term early in the novel. There was racist content in the first novel as well. Also, I had a hard time figuring out if this book was set in present day or the 90s with most of Scarlett's movies being older (but my favorites too), references to 80s/90s pop stars. Other references seem more recent. The celebrity cameos at the end were WAY too over the top and unnecessary. I did love the references to Gretna Green marriages. I didn't know people still did that. I had a hard time telling which characters were supposed to be American sometimes because Scarlett quotes them in British and not American. (Two different languages and speech patterns).

Scarlett has matured a lot since the first book in the series. She started off like Bridget Jones and has become a confident, successful woman. Scarlett has a big heart and is very kind. She even grows up a bit more throughout this novel and I liked seeing her realize new truths about herself and come into her own. I love her relationship with Sean. I was surprised it took them so long to move in together and get married. I assumed the romantic scene at the end of the first book was a proposal, but it was a declaration of love and it is more realistic this way. Sean is swoony. He's a closet romantic! He's grown a lot too. He's not in the story a lot but when he is, he's very memorable.

Oscar is the over-the-top flamboyant gay stereotype but he's so lovable. I like him despite his crazy personality. I wouldn't like to attend one of his parties though. I wouldn't be comfortable. Oscar is more girly than I am! Luke is a patient man. They compliment each other nicely. I wasn't so sure I liked them together at first but once I got to know Luke better, I liked the relationship. It's sweet. I love love love the special dress he designed for Scarlett.

Maddie is lost. I feel really bad for her. What she is experiencing hit a little too close to home right now. I wanted her to work things out with Felix. The details of what happened or didn't happen seem to be private. I would have expected her to be a little more responsible and level headed, Scarlett did too, but Maddie was hurt and found a way to make herself feel better that ran contrary to her personality. I didn't like what she did but I did like how Scarlett came to her rescue. It was nice to see the bond between them. In the first book Maddie wasn't so sympathetic to Scarlett.

There are a couple of new and new to me characters besides Luke. There's Gabi, a celebrity/socialite. I wasn't sure I would like Gabi at first. I was worried she would either be an Italian princess stereotype or a Kardashian. She's herself, which is a very sweet, generous woman who is a bit of a lost soul. I like how Scarlett helps her. New York isn't as celebrity conscious as LA from what I hear from friends. The celebrity cameos at her party sort of ruin her story. She's my favorite of the new characters.

The villain was SO obvious. Scarlett knew it because the villain is a Daniel Cleaver type. All those romcoms she watches came in handy and give her excellent instincts. I would not have reacted the same way she did. I know it's a story but she should have called a council of war with her nearest and dearest and figured out how to beat the villain at their own game.

I really enjoyed this book, more than the reread of the first book. If you like Bridget Jones, you'll like Scarlett even more.

This was nice. Not as amazing as the first one in the series, this is certainly one of my favorite series. It's funny, romantic, and just all the way dreamy.

Ali McNamara has quickly become one of those authors whose books I look forward to so much, ever since I read her debut novel From Notting Hill With Love... Actually back in 2009. From then on, I've devoured all the books she's released and I've only recently just caught up on her second Scarlett O'Brien book From Notting Hill To New York... Actually. I feel a lot of pressure when it comes to reading sequels because what if the sequel is not up to the standards of the original? I would even go so far as to say when a sequel doesn't live up to its original, it can ruin the original but I was pleasantly surprised with From Notting Hill To New York... Actually and it blew my socks off! So I was massively excited to read From Notting Hill With Four Weddings... Actually.

From Notting Hill With Four Weddings... Actually is the third Scarlett O'Brien novel (and hopefully the last - more on that in a bit) and this time around it's all about weddings! Four weddings, to be exact which was a nice play on the title (and the movie - though thankfully there were no funerals, phew!). Scarlett's living a trans-Atlantic life (which is so bizarre to me, considering where she started...), her life is less movie-driven (I miss the playfulness of the movie bits from the first book) but she's got her happy-ever-after with Sean, but she's struggling to plan their wedding, and can't decide on a venue, a dress, anything. Her work life is exploding, though, and when Gabriella Romero asks Scarlett to be her life coach, she finds herself stuck between two worlds, and who knows if Scarlett and Sean will ever get their very own wedding...

After the fast-paced, frantic whirlwind that was From Notting Hill To New York... Actually, it felt for me that From Notting Hill With Four Weddings... Actually came back to Earth with a bit of a bump. It was still adorable, still vintage McNamara, but it all just felt too much - the Scarlett we first meet is much different to this Scarlett and I found it hard to align the two as the same person. We're supposed to believe Scarlett is running two major companies - one a charity, no less; with them both on opposite sides of the Atlantic and I think it would have made more sense if Scarlett just did the Dragonfly service, and the popcorn company was run by someone else, because while it's believable to run two companies, absolutely, it just felt too much for this novel (especially as Scarlett spends a great deal of the novel doing wedding stuff, or spending time with Gabi), and we don't really hear much about her working for either company.

The characters are all still really great - and it's always lovely to catch up with Oscar, Sean, Max and Jamie - even this new Scarlett who doesn't really do films much (I mean, it's mentioned that she does, but it doesn't come across that way; they're like token mentions). Even the addition of Gabi was quite a masterstroke, as I loved her. My issue was with this new version of Maddie - what kind of a best friend wouldn't tell her best friend her troubles? It didn't make sense, it didn't ring true, and I could have happily read the novel without Maddie in it. Also: Alex. He came across as a smarmy, pantomine villian and I just didn't buy it for a second. I knew where the plot was going with him, it was blindingly obvious and it was a bit of an uncessary addition, I would have preferred the novel just focused on the weddings, or the search for Gabi's Great Aunt.

It may sound as if I'm on a downer about the novel, and it wasn't actually that bad, there were just aspects that were a bit much - Alex, Scarlett running two companies, celeb appearances that had me cringing (I can take Bradley Cooper, okay, but more celebrities? Who would magically drop everything they're doing for Scarlett? It just was so frustrating to be real). This one was a bit of a let-down for me, after two cracking novels. I most certainly do not want a fourth novel ...With Nappies! Scarlett has far too much on her plate for that to be the next step, unless Bradley Cooper's going to step in as nanny. I didn't think Scarlett and Sean really needed a third book, the second one ended beautifully, and all that was really needed there was a simple Epilogue detailing their wedding. I actually thought I enjoyed the book more than I did, until I started writing my review, and although I will say this until my face is read: It wasn't a bad book, it just felt like one too many. Other fans will adore it, I'm sure, there will be plenty of gushing reviews, but I'd quite like Sean and Scarlett to have their happy ever after in peace now. They more than deserve it.This review was originally posted on Girls Love To Read

On to another Scarlett O’Brien adventure!!! You can’t even describe, how excited I was to read book #3 of the Actually series, I love the first two.

So, Scarlett is flying between London and New York, dealing with both her businesses. The Dragonfly Trust has become really successful; she was able to help a lot of people. This also puts her in contact with Gabriella Romero. She becomes her “life coach”, but there is more behind it than that. I enjoyed reading about their adventures, lots of fun and a cameraman we know gets to know Gabi as well. Scarlett gets to meet more celebrities and she has Oscar to accompany her to all these events. Oscar is still the same funny and unique person, always looking to talk to VIPs, and it’s great to see that he found someone as well.

Book #2 finished what a special proposal from Sean and now it’s time to plan that wedding. Scarlett is very stressed and busy though, her head is not really in it. Sean is worried and helps her wherever he can. The bond Sean and Scarlett have is amazing, such a wonderful couple with chemistry, connection, powerful and they share some pretty wonderful scenes in this book. Reading about Sean is always a highlight for me, he’s just great!!!

With the wedding comes best man Alex. Scarlett doesn’t like him from the start, there is a mystery behind him and I totally get why she can’t trust him. He is even there to help with the wedding venue, but what’s behind that?!

Her best friend Maddie is problems in her relationship and is secretive about it. Well, only later we hear why, which makes Scarlett even more suspicious of one person.

Suddenly everything is in danger, the wedding, the trust and also Gabi’s charity, and what about Gabi’s real reason to get in touch with Scarlett.
Sean takes over the wedding preparations and Scarlett is ready to fight and save everything.

It was great reading about New York, an awesome setting and a fabulous place.
Ali has a great way to hook the reader, her writing is bubbly, fresh, funny and really gripping!

I really loved every page of this book.It drew me in and kept me reading in every spare second I could find.

Scarlett is getting married and isn't sure where she wants to hold her reception, where she's going to find the perfect dress and even why she has reservations about the best man.

She runs a business/charity that helps people find lost relatives and those who can afford to pay help support a childrens home in New York. Scarlett is extremely proud of both.

One of her best friends Oscar- begins to plan his own wedding with a Shakespearean/fairy theme- and the actual day is such a spectacular that she begins to worry about her own again.

There are several new characters introduced including Gabi- and Scarlett weaves her personal brand of magic around them- improving their lives and introducing them to others.

I enjoyed all the wedding preparations and was hoping that Scarlett was going to get her perfect day- and love the whole day that Sean had organised for her.

Looking forward to the next one in the series now!

Many thanks to Little Brown Book Group Uk and Net Galley for the chance to read this book.

I added a review to my blog to share the news with my friends.

The third Notting Hill book and it doesn't get old or tired like some books that are carried on past two and this i put down to the characters being nice and caring, not spoilt. Ali takes us on a ride to watch Scarlet and Sean wed. But Alex is out to create a damper on everyone's day. All the favorite characters are there along with some new ones who will be loved and disliked.
Ali describes every scene with brilliance but the way she describes New York makes you feel like you are not only there but familiar with the whole city. Ali is hitting a market that has been open for a while and she is sure to take the lime light from Sophie Kinsella very soon.

From Notting Hill with Four Weddings...

I really enjoyed this series and I just love Scarlett and Sean so so much. This one just fell a little flat for me. Alex as a bad guy was pretty infuriating at times. But I loved the conclusion to the series.

I can't believe it took me almost a year to pick this book up. The Actually Series is one of my all time favourites and I was over the moon last year when Ali McNamara announced the third book was going to be all about weddings (four weddings actually, it couldn't be any other way right?). Anyway, I was saving it as a treat but then it kind of got lost in all my books until now! I spotted it the other day and I just wanted to see how Scarlett and Sean were doing.

I have to admit that this one was my least favourite of the three. Basically because the first one completely blown me away, it was like Ali has written a book especially for me, I instantly connected with Scarlett and absolutely loved all the movie references. And then with the second book, Ali took us to an amazing trip to New York and quite unbelievably it was even better than the first book. So the expectations were high with the third book for me. Ali did deliver, we still have amazing characters (Oscar, Scarlett's BFF, is back better than ever), crazy situations, a lot of serendipity and some megastars cameos but the movie loving / discovering yourself essence of the other two books is a bit lost between all the drama.

If something can go wrong for Scarlett and Sean's wedding, it does. And with Scarlett running two international businesses and basically mentoring a celebrity everyday the drama in the story is endless. But somehow Ali McNamara pulls it off, she might have gone a bit over the top with this book but I just loved every bit. I was grinning like a loon from cover to cover and she reminded us that sometimes real life is even more magical than movies and that's why I love this series so much.

I am sure that old fans and even new ones (I think you can easily read this novel as a stand alone as everything is explained and no matter how long you have known Oscar, you just love him) will enjoy Scarlett and Sean's (last?) story. Also, if you are planning a wedding, you might get some really nice ideas. Gosh, I'm torn between which of the weddings was more spectacular!

I coincidently stumbled over this book in a Notting Hill Bookshop – No, sadly not THE Bookshop in which apparently also Scarlett and Sean met – it was another one.. However, I didn’t realize there was a series behind it, I mostly bought it because of the title :P - so I haven’t read the other two books. In my opinion, you don’t necessarily have to read them before– I enjoyed reading without knowing the whole story with all its details since the beginning. Also, there are many short flashbacks, so that you can get a good picture about everything.

All in all, I found the book very enjoying: various characters- especially Oscar truly is refreshing and entertaining-, a lot of different stories coming together and in the end a spectacular, emotional finale. You can of course argue, if the whole story is overdramatic and unrealistic – I think it isn’t, given the right circumstances.

What I didn’t quite like, was that the story or Scarlett sometimes seemed to be stuck and didn’t really go on for a while, which seemed to artificially extend the whole book. On the other side, I was annoyed that there were certain situations or conservations just very shortly described – like for example the actual wedding with the vows of Sean and Scarlett or Scarlett’s working life. It just seemed that a few points were missing. To sum it up: I think, the book was in a way too long but somehow also too short.. :p

So over all, I liked the book and it was interesting to get to know these characters and I think I will probably read the first book (maybe also the second) of the trilogy, as I want to know how exactly Scarlett met Oscar, Maddie, Sean etc.. and developed a relationship with them- It is definitely new for me not to have started with the first book of a series but somehow I have the feeling that I otherwise wouldn’t have found From Notting Hill with four weddings …actually as entertaining.

Set in the world of all your favorite rom-coms, a gorgeously romantic new novel by the author of "From Notting Hill with Love . . . Actually" Movie addict Scarlett O'Brien is finally living the jet-setting life she's dreamed of, but it all hangs by a shiny, golden thread. Flying between London and New York, running two businesses, and planning her wedding to handsome fiance Sean along with her best friends Oscar and Maddie--life couldn't be better. Then Scarlett meets paparazzi darling Gabriella Romero, and life suddenly becomes even more extravagant and glamourous. But as she begins to experience the other side of being rich and famous, it's not only Scarlett's perfect wedding that's put in jeopardy, but her whole world.

I am really disappointed in this series. One was amazing, reminded me of myself, and fell in love with Scarlett and her world. Who doesn't love romantic comedies and picture their lives like a movie? Then part two was a little boring and cheesy and this one continues with the cheese... cheddar cheese. Maybe Ali McNamara should stop with this series... and please stop mentioning Bradley Cooper.

We are back with Scarlett, the movie obsessed young lady who is now dividing her time between the popcorn business in London and the charity she has founded in New York, helping to find missing people.

As part of her work with the charity, she becomes friends with Superstar Gabriella Romero, and while trying to plan her dream wedding to Sean, becomes embroiled in the kind of plot she watches in her beloved movies.

This was a light read, enjoyable, but it lost my attention in places and didn't keep me entertained as much as the first two books in the series, especially 'From Notting Hill with love... Actually' the first in the trilogy, which I loved. You don't need to have read the previous two books as this is a stand alone, but I think it helps to understand Scarlett better if you have.

This book really dragged and I feel like it is the end for me and this series. Scarlett can be very self centred and doesn't care much about other people. Sean is way too good for her! Ready to pass this book on now.

1st review - 16/04/2018 - I did enjoy this book, especially as it is pretty much all about weddings. However, I struggled to warm to Scarlett in the beginning. She seemed a bit changed in this book and didn't seem to care about Sean very much even though he is incredible too her.

It was very frustrating when Scarlett didn't immediately tell people about Alex!

I did like this and I will read more if there is another one in the series (and it sounds like there is or will be from the ending of the book).

The perfect conclusion to a perfect trilogy. This book was such a great ending to Scarlett and Sean's story! It had all of the craziness that surrounds Scarlett, along with genuine issues that show how great the dynamics between the relationships in this series are. I loved the plot, the ending, and character development, it's such a charming book I'm sad that's I've finished reading it. I am keeping my eyes peeled for Ali McNamara's new book coming out this year.

An excellent chick-lit book that you find hard to put down. It is an easy read and makes you feel good. The other books in the series are also excellent when you just want to pick something up be led into the main characters life and escapades.
I recommend for a light evening read or a holiday book.
I hope to read more books by this author.

Loved, loved, loved this book, especially the ending... It was a little slow in the middle, but the wedding was over the top rom-com romantic.... I loved that they combined their names, I loved the wedding and all its romantic pieces...

Yes, I must be honest with you, my memory is like a sieve and I more than often forget what the books were about, especially as I read them more than two years ago. I got the general idea in my head of course but forget the rest, and it was great here, when I was reading "From Notting Hill with Four Weddings... Actually", that with every short flashbacks about the past events or characters, it all came back to me in a flesh, even after those two years of waiting! I actually can't believe that it's already third book in the "From Notting Hill..." series and I so love when the publishers release the books with the same cover pattern - just imagine now the three beauties next to each other on the bookshelf... Although I think that this book would also do as a stand alone novel, reading the previous two parts would give better insight into Scarlett and why she is as she is.

It's unbelievable, but it's already two years since we've seen Scarlett and her friends. And since her and Sean got engaged! And yes, they are organising their wedding right now, which is not so easy, what with around the world all the time and spending so much time in New York, working for her charity The Dragonfly Trust and engaging herself with Sunnyside, the children's home. So Scarlett, who's meant to organise to wedding, slowly starts to feel the pressure of time. Meeting the star Gabriella Romero and being involved with her doesn't help, as well as bumping into Alex, Sean's best friend who's supposed to be also his Best Man at the wedding, but in relation to whom Scarlett has very mixed feelings... Then Luke and Oscar are also getting married soon and Maddie, Scarlett's best friend, has some marriage problems... Oh, can life be more complicated? Of course it can, when you are Scarlett O'Brien!

What I have expected more from Scarlett this time, is that she has matured, grown up a little, and although that was not the case, I would still like her a lot, but this time she stroke me as a little too much air - headed, too easy - going. Wedding in Plaza? Scarlett, you? It's for sure the feeling, the love between two people, and not the venue? Promising to search for missing person and then doing everything, like being a Life - Coach for example, and putting the search for later. So yes, she hasn't changed a lot, she's still much in love with the cinema and films, on the surface crazy and light - hearted, but inside full of warmth, love and, what I especially like in her, she would do anything for her friends. And I really mean anything. Her feeling of loyalty was exceptional and she was like a lioness when it came to her friends, when somebody wanted to hurt them. And oh yes, still very prone to accident and with unusual predisposition to meet and befriend famous people.
Of course we are introduced to a new bunch of characters in this book, especially Gabriella and Alex. Alex added some spice and pepper to the story and Ali knew how to write a black character, that's for sure. Call it Sixth Sense or something, but I disliked him from the word go, from the very first scene that we learn him.
But this time the characters felt a little too flat for my liking, there was nobody outstanding, nobody who has stolen the show. I don't mean that they have ended, oh no, there is still a lot of potential in all of them, it's just that this time I missed more sparkles in all of them. Especially Oscar - oh my, how I missed Oscar! But sadly, except his purple trousers there was not much in him that made me adore him so much in the previous parts.

There were so many threads in the book but sadly I have a feeling that not a single one was fully developed. Organising wedding? Some mentions. Searching for lost people? No mention actually, I was expecting Scarlett to organise a big search action. Sunnyside? Two visits? Scarlett showing Gabi how normal people live? Well, except some visits to buy coffee and one walk in the park - that was all. Yes, it was a great story, sometimes funny but perhaps the author wanted to entertain us too much, and while I enjoyed the book it left me not as content as I would like it.

When our Gabi told Scarlett that she wants her to search for her long - lost Great - Aunt, and then the facts and the name fitted the woman Scarlett met before I have thought, no way, oh come on, It. Can't. Be. So. Easy. I was so sure that I am right and it spoiled the reading for me a little, and when finally it came to the meeting and my suspicions were false, I have sighed and felt really relieved, and then I also got this twist that I totally haven't seen coming. Yes!

What didn't work out for me so much was the name dropping, too many celebrities and the situations they appeared again were too exaggerated for my taste, too impossible, just too everything. And please tell me that I missed somehow one wedding? There was the scandalous wedding in Scotland, then Luke and Oscar's, then Scarlett's, but where is the fourth wedding from the title?

A big part of this book is set in New York, and as there are tons of books set in the Big Apple you could think oh no, not again, but this time the descriptions of the city were a real joy and felt very refreshing. Ali has painted New York in a new light, made it so vibrant and colourful, and also very unique.

I totally adored how Scarlett collected her wedding guest, on a first met - basis. It was very nice idea, seemed like a kind of closure or, perhaps, something new? A new beginning? From Notting Hill with a Baby... Ali???

So altogether, it was a very enjoyable books with some great and original moments. Light - hearted and with a feel - good factor, it's going to brighten your day for sure. It was really nice to see some of the characters again and great to see some new of them as well and you can either love them or love to hate them. This is an easy, light story to keep you entertained and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to all Ali and Scarlett's fans.

The third installment, this time, with weddings! Four of them (though ). There's actually a bad guy, and he's so over-the-top villainous that it's funny, with a name that is so incredibly obvious it's even funnier. Same as the previous book re: dialogue etc., but it's still fun brain candy, and some of the wedding stuff actually did make me get misty.

(I really am glad there was no From Notting Hill with Nappies… Actually, as hinted at the end of the book… a trilogy was a fine place to end this.)

Another one I loved. This series gets better the with each book. I really enjoyed this one. I hope there’s more. I wasn’t keen on the first book and found it dragged on a bit, but the 2nd and 3rd are fantastic. This one is all about Scarletts wedding. But that doesn’t happen until the end of the book. There’s so many twists and turns in the run up to it, so many interesting things happen. She meets a new star who she becomes friends with. Sean’s best man Alex Wolfe Is an absolute ratbag, who is awful. A really great read.

3/5⭐

A delightful conclusion to an entertaining trilogy. Scarlett along with her friends and family even faced a little bit of mystery and intrigue that added to the enjoyment of this sweet and fun conclusion. The surprise guest and performance at the end also made me smile. Excellent read for all you Rom-Com lovers out there. :) <3

I thought it was a bit slow to start and jumped around a bit, seemingly introducing characters randomly and then I found out that this was the third book in a trilogy! The apparent randomness made sense then.

Once I got into it, I loved it and in fact was awake until 05:30 this morning reading it. I’ll have to go back now and read the rest. 😊

And...that's a wrap! Yes, film pun intended. Scarlett would be so proud. Except the soon to be Mrs Bond needs to overcome her erstwhile friend's marital problems, a charity fraudster and track down a celebrity's long-lost great-aunt before she ever makes it to the altar. Can she do it? Yes, she can!

2.5 stars.
This book just doesn't work for me.
I found it boring for the most part. The characters are now too well know, nothing really new, nothing so emotional.
Just another book in the series.
I'm so sorry :(

Absolutely loved this series. I laughed so hard at Scarletts antics. I read this when I am feeling low as it is a guaranteed pick me up! Amazing book! Wish they would make it a film. Scarlett gets involved in so many situations and makes friends with some lovely people. Definitely worth the read.
