Even though he was a wanted man, Veronica Reynolds would always believe in the innocence of the handsome half-breed who’d captured her heart when she was just a girl. Now it’s her turn to save him when the escaped convict shows up, wounded and hunted, on her family’s ranch.

Good love story but the backstory left too many questions left unanswered and no punishment for the antagonists. I felt like this book was unfinished. 2019...This was my second read o this novel/ My first review (above), I didn't realize it was in a series. I now understand why the story seemed unfinished.
Omg how is this writer not a household name? This book is phenomenal! And I’m not huge on historical romance! I got it from the KU and while I’m thankful, Bobbi Smith is wayyyy too good a writer to be in with most of the junk reads from KU!!! It’s a beautiful story of two people Fate destined to meet and fall in love! Tragedy happens but the strong, spirited characters survive! A must read!
This is the 2nd book in the series Secret Fires. Each book in the series is written by a different author. To follow the storyline best read in order although you can read as a stand-alone. This one is about an unknown half-breed brother that no one except a few knew existed. As with all the heirs each need to come home to be entitled to their inheritance. This is the half-breed's story and how he fits into the family dynamics.
One of the best relationships between author and characters I have read in a very long time. I enjoyed the storyline and loved the characters just waiting for the next book
A good story and a good book we should all want to be good to Indians we stole so much from them its great to read about kind hearted people and a happy ending thanks
I am now reading the second book in this series and find it to be as good as this one. I hated to see this one end and I hope their story continues in the second one.
First book I have read by this author, loved it. Story of Chase and Faith. Faith had been kidnapped by a renegade band of Indians, once they feel asleep she managed to escape. Running threw the wilderness she came upon Chase. Chase was half Native American and half white, his father did not want anything to do with him. Even through Chase was different he had made a name for himself by becoming a Texas Ranger. Chase helped Faith get back to her family and her fiance. I am not going to be a spoiler, read the story I am sure you will love it. This was an awesome fine
This was an old fashioned western with all the right parts. Walker was the half-breed son of one of the biggest ranches in the county. But nobody ever forgot to remind him that he didn't belong and never would. It was very hard to live in the white mans world, but he did it anyway. He loved his sister Stacy too. There were always the bulls of this world who was ready to try to get him to lose his cool no matter where he went, but to be accused of murder and sent to prison for something he didn't do was something that he didn't know if he could live through. This was a great read!!
Chase McBride, the son of Tom McBride and a Comanche mother, learns early on that life can be lonely. His commitment to his work as a Texas Ranger keeps him from noticing how alone he really is until Faith tries to steal his horse one night in the Texas wilderness. Her strength and love more than makes up for his lonely past.
Another wonderful story written by Bobbi Smith! I simply love historical Native American romance novels and this is a great story. There’ll be times when you’ll hold your breath, you’ll get angry, you’ll admire the interesting characters but most of all you’ll enjoy this novel! Trust me and get this book! You sure won’t regret it! HAPPY READING 😊
This was a quick read about a half breed brought to his white father's ranch after his mother dies. He is raised as on the ranch as part of the family but never quite accepted by the town. When he grows up and falls in love, he is accused of a murder that he did not commit.
This book was pretty good. Walker was framed for a murder and went to prison. He did escape while on the chain gang in a storm. The guards thought he was dead. His name was cleared and he married his childhood sweetheart. Would I read it again, no.
Of the three from this series that I've read (all but the first), this was my least favorite. The characters seemed a little over the top (especially Clare's) and the drama a little unbelievable. Still an entertaining novel, but not the best.
Really liked this book and the characters relationship with each other. I was disappointed at the end. I didn't realize this book was part of a story written by multiple authors. Someday I hope to pick up the others so I can find out what happens to everybody.
Great story...wonderful writing....good, strong characters. I would definitely recommend this book to others. The plot is very interesting, exciting, sensual, and no dead spots. Really liked this couple and was rooting for them all the way.
Does not disappoint. Well written and keeps you interested. Enjoyable reading. Good story line and characters. Looking forward to more stories by this author
I have this a generous 4 stars. Although the hero is Walker, he played a smaller role than that of his best friend and sister. I did however like the storyline of his sister and his best friend Jim. Would I read this again, uhm ... if I had other choices, maybe not.
the story line was ok, the love scenes were basically the same phrases that I have read before. I was very disappointed in them. The story had so much potential.
