Adam V. and the Electric Witch

Rate this book
Nora Bell is an electrician, not a witch. The hat was a last-minute attempt at a Halloween costume, and the seven-foot stranger with bolts in his neck is clearly doing a much better job.

Except Adam isn’t wearing a costume. He’s a living experiment, newly escaped from the man who made him, and the sparks that fly when Nora touches one of his bolts are very real.

Taking him home should probably be a terrible idea. Instead, it might be one of the first choices Adam has ever been free to make—and the beginning of something neither of them wants to resist.

STEM FMC: electrician
Frankenstein retelling after he escapes his asshole creator. Omg this book was so good! Consent top to bottom and all the way around, and it’s not even a tiny bit in the way or overplayed. She teaches him free will and consent and saves him and figures out the electricity being used to control him. This book was perfect for the season and just in general. As a scientist, I have always hated the ethical and moral implications of Frankenstein, but this gets right down into it and throws it all back in the doctor’s face without sacrificing the dignity of the creature. As serious as some of the topics are that are covered, they are handled with care, with sarcasm as a comic relief, and with tenderness. After the conflict, the author gives you so much time to relax into their relationship, and what I appreciated most was the practicality of getting him to exist as his own person. This book scratched a very particular itch in my brain, and I loved it.

I had the ultimate pleasure of reading this gem of a consent king and queen book!

So we’re to begin…um hello he’s like Frankenstein and Nora is a literal boss babe. The way these two worked together to not only be in a relationship but to save Adam was so sweet and cozy. Not to mention they created legit fire in the spicey scenes!

Adam had a horrid existence until he met Nora and she taught him that he was always able to make choices and not to worry about others but himself as he deserved to. Nora was really great at being alone but like anyone else had secret cravings of being cared for like she cared for others. Together they took down the bad guy and helped each other heal and grow in such a beautiful way! Highly recommend this book!

There was nothing about this story that I didn’t love. I’m absolutely obsessed, my notes aren’t even coherent. The immediate vibe of the setting is so completely perfect for fall and Halloween. I can’t recommend it enough for some fall monster romance vibes! Jenifer has such an amazing way of creating realistic feeling characters; I wish I could be friends with Nora and Dani (the lovable bestie). She is also PHENOMENAL at writing spicy scenes 🤩 And while this wasn’t overwhelmingly filled with spice scenes, boy was it HOT. I am so excited for book two so I can return to Rookwell!! (🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️)

This is a Mons-tober must read!

Nora is an electricion (not a witch) with a spicy attitude and a desire to save those who can’t defend themselves.

Adam is freshly coming into himself but still scared of what will happen to him if he doesn’t return to his home.

Wanting a night out, Adam instead learns what it’s like to have someone who cares what he thinks and feels. Nora, can’t help herself, she just sees a big tall man who’s scared and needs help. With the help of her crazy best friend Dani, they seek to help Adam out.

The electrical chemistry between them is one you won’t want to miss!

I read this book as a beta read provided by the author. This is an honest review.

This was so much more of an emotional read than I was expecting. Adam was so sweet and I loved how protective of him and his freedom Nora was. It definitely was not an insta love story, but more of an instant connection that grew over time.

✨No cheating ✨No OW/OM drama ✨No third act breakup ✨No cliffhanger ✨HEA

So cute! I read this basically in one sitting. Nora’s spunky personality was super fun along with Adam’s caring nature. Definitely a fun read for October! Hope we get Dani’s story next.
