They know the law can’t touch them. But there’s another kind of justice.

Army veteran Mason Sharpe is working as a junior deckhand on a Great Lakes freighter. The work is hard, but the pay is fair, and Mason is enjoying this simple life.

Then the boat breaks apart in a savage storm on Lake Superior. Mason survives the freezing swells, but his close friend and fellow crewman, Evan, is lost to the deep.

Returning Evan’s classic Mustang to his young widow, Grace, Mason discovers that a shadowy shipping conglomerate is squeezing traumatized families to sign quick hush-money contracts, subtly shifting the blame for the disaster onto the dead crew.

When a whistleblower is silenced right before Mason's eyes, he realizes the ship’s owners will do whatever it takes to bury the truth. This sinking wasn’t a simple accident, it was negligent homicide.

And Mason isn’t going to stand idly by while ruthless corporations protect their own bottom line by threatening the families of his fallen friends. It’s time to take the gloves off.

The bad guys are about to discover they’ve created their own worst nightmare—a full-on Mason Sharpe Shock Wave.

The Mason Sharpe series continues in fine form, with Shock Wave seeing Mason taking on a cost-cutting shipping company following a tragic accident.

As we've come to expect, there is plenty of action and as usual it's fast paced and well written but the real strength of this book is the raw emotion that drives the plot forward, with the ending being especially poignant.

A very solid action-thriller, which is no surprise!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator books for the ARC!

Mason Sharpe continues working on a boat but this time the troubles is a little different. Shock Wave by Logan Ryles is a new adventure for our hero. Not all is what it seems with the company Mason works for, this leads to some thrilling moments. As always Ryles has come up with a story that keeps you reading into the early hours of the morning. I have been a fan of this author and his series about this ex cop since the beginning and I recommend them to fans of good reading. I thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for this advance copy.

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story begins with Mason working as a deckhand that transport iron ore when a major storm explodes and the ship cracks in the middle and the captains states "Abandon Ship". Evan, one of the crew mates, tries to provide extra minutes for the crew while attempting to attach a steel cable to the opposite end and Mason goes to help him. Unfortunately they are not successful and the next giant wave slams the boat and the boat splits in half. Mason is swept over and later saved by the Coast Guard, but Evan and four other members of the 15 man crew do not survive. Mason, friends with Evan, once he is able takes Evan's Mustang and drives to talk with Evan's wife Grace. Later, Grace shows Mason a letter which the shipping company sent that offers a cheap settlement besides saying that the cause was crew negligence. This angered Mason and he went to the ship hdqtrs and gave and speech and was then lead out by security.

Read along and learn what the ship company was willing to do to prevent Mason and others from proving it was the ships responsibility and not the crews that resulted in the sinking of the ship. Discovers the dangers that Evan and Grace faced and they tried to get answers to what Evan was doing in the background. Learn what Mason did that ended up providing the necessary information.

The story will definitely keep your interest right to the end. This book is definitely worth the read, don't miss out!

It's Mason Sharpe vs. all that's evil in the world, volume 15!

After surviving a horrendous storm that took the life of a fellow crewmate and friend, Mason is offered a quick, lowball payout by the shipping company—a deal that smells more than a little fishy. Leave it to Mason to sniff out the real story, showing complete disregard for his own welfare as corporate bigwigs try to silence him and keep the truth hidden.

While Mason Sharpe may be just one man, his doggedness and drive to deliver justice to those who deserve it—and punish those who deny it—pays off in a big way. Taking plenty of bumps and bruises as he battles the bad guys along the way, Mason delivers yet another compelling adventure in a long-running series that keeps on ticking. The only question is: where will Mason go next, and which bad guys will feel the wrath of this non-stop fighter for truth and justice? I can't wait to find out!

Shock Wave is all action from the start. Mason Sharpe is an Army veteran who seems to drift from job to job, generally enjoying life. This time, he works as a junior deckhand aboard a freighter, and to his credit, he enjoys the job and has made a few good friends along the way. One night, a very big savage storm broke out, with large swells of water and no signs of abating, when suddenly the ship broke in half, and Logan managed to stay alive, but many lost their lives, including his friend, so Logan takes his prized Mustang and delivers it to his young widow when he hears about the company trying to make them sign a document and offering hush money as they blame the crew for the freighter's accident.
This is where Mason comes into his own, and he doesn't go down without a fight;
Great, compelling story with plenty of gruesome action from the start.
I have read a few Mason Sharpe thrillers, and each story is different, so no worries, as they can be read as standalones.
I would like to thank Incubator Books for a review copy, and this is my personal take on this novel.

The Wallace J Leland was a freighter on the Great Lakes, but it was no match for an angry Lake Superior. Mason Sharpe was a deckhand on the ship when huge waves doomed it to break apart. Mason barely survived, his friend Evan did not. Evan warned the company that proper maintenance had not been done and now his widow, Grace, and the other surviving relatives are being offered $25,000 to settle. Mason has to return Evan's classic Mustang to her anyway and quickly gets involved. Also getting involved is Leland Shipping, the only privately owned shipping company in Detroit. They hire a military grade security company to keep Mason from finding the truth. They really should not have done that. Now they are going to sink as far as the ship they were too cheap to maintain. Mason Sharpe fans do not need to be told that action abounds in this one.

Mason Sharpe is an amazing person who has more lives than your average cat. He is a man of few words but plenty of action, someone you want on your side. I enjoyed reading this newest story in this action packed thriller. From the first chapter to the last there is exciting action. This one starts with a nightmare storm on the mighty Lake Superior then moves inland to the once mighty motor city Detroit.

I recommend this book and the series to fans of the vigilante justice action hero thriller novels. It is well written, fast paced, and pure entertainment till the last page.

This is another cracking read. Mason is working as a boathand when a violent storm causes the boat to break up. While Mason is saved, his colleague Evan is missing and presumed dead. Mason soon discovers that Evan was working on his own investigation into some shady practices by the boat owner and an attempt to force the widow into signing a quick hush-money contract sees him start his own investigation.

This was fast-paced as usual with several hired goons on his trail trying to remove him from the equation while also trying to find out what Evan had discovered and where he had hidden any evidence. I really enjoyed it.

Mason’s time in the Great Lakes provides a good tale.As he thinks there’s more to a sunken ship and lost crew. Proving it is difficult as he, himself, becomes a target as he continues to search for justice.
