This is an Amharic Novel, a second book for Dr Mehret Debebe Gebretsdaik, a psychiatrist by training. The title 'LelaSew' loosely means 'the other person'. It is a book about personalities and personhood. It covers contemporary societal issues of Ethiopia. Most of the major mental illness are incorporated in the story. It is written as a revealing reality of what we are and capable of. It is a story of the journey of a family, struggling to strike the balance between personal comfort and societal contribution. The main character, himself a psychiatrist, fights to keep his family together while pursuing his life dream and first love. The story twists in unexpected way when everyone in the story marches towards their personal passion and their interests become irreconcilable.

ዶ/ር ምህረት ደበበ በሙያው የአእምሮ ሕክምና ስፔሻሊስት ነው፡፡ የሕክምና ዲግሪውን የሠራው አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲ ሲሆን በኋላም አሜሪካ ሀገር ሄዶ በሴይንት ሊዊስ ዩኒቨርስቲ የአእምሮ ሕክምና ጥናቱን አጠናቀቀ፡፡ በአሁኑ ጊዜ ደግሞ በአሜሪካና በኢትዮጵያ መካከል እየተመላለሰ በሁለቱም ስፍራ በሙያው በመሥራት ላይ ይገኛል፡፡ ከሕክምው በተጨማሪ በአስተሳሰብ እና የአእምሮ ለውጥ ዙሪያ ማሰብ፣ ማጥናት እና ማስተማር ያዘወትራል፡፡
እስካሁንም ሁለት መድብሎችን በ2005ዓ.ም እና በ2007ዓ.ም "የተቆለፈበት ቁልፍ" እና "ሌላሠው" በሚሉ ርዕሶች አቅርቦልናል::

አንብቤ ስጨርስ "እኔስ የትኛው 'ሌላነት' ጋር ነኝ?" ብዬ አንዳስብ አድርጎኛል። መጽሐፉ ብዙ ርእስ ጉዳዬችን ከመዳሰሱ እና ዕለታዊ መስተጋብሮችን ቆም እና ዞር ብለን እንድንቃኝ ከማንቃት አንጻር ይበል የሚያሰኝ ቢሆንም እንደ አንድ የፈጠራ ሥራን ሲያነብብ እንደቆየ ተደራሲ አጨራሱ ትንሽ ቅር አሰኝቶኛል።

*Its quite a pleasure to read such a marvelous book. I loved this book so much that its hard to form coherent toughts but i couldn't pass this without saying something.

This book is a kind of book that makes you think, question and understand lots of things. It makes u think about it and keeps your mind working even when your not reading it. It is obviously a carefully written book & unravels the unspoken part of society. The way it handles tough and senstive topics ( like anxiety, suicide, sexual abuse, drug abuse, PTSD...) is very authentic and perfectly done.

The characters were well built & the different plot lines we follow were woven exquistely and entwine in a beautifully heartbreaking way in the end(that twist..!).

The writing was perfection. The first few pages might feel a little slow paced because it takes its time in character building, but the more you read it the more you understand the significance of it all.

If you haven't read this book yet, even if u won't like this I'm very sure that atleast u will learn something from it so I highly..highly recommend that u do. And Dr. Mihiret surely is a very talented writer and I hope he writes more books like this.

አያሌ ቁም ነገሮችን ያዘለ ግሩም መጽሐፍ ነው። ደራሲው የእያንዳንዱ ሰው ሌላነት በገጸባህሪያቱ መስታወትነት ለማሳየት ጥሮዋል። ይገርማል እውነትም ሁሉም ሰው ሌላ ሰው ነው። በተለይ ደግሞ የሰዎች ሰብዕና እንዴት በአሰተዳደግና በሕይወቱ በሚገጥሙት ፈታኝ መከራዎች በአሉታዊ መንገድ እንደሚቀረጽ (በማስረሻና ዶር ሲራክ እንደምናየው) እንዲሁም ያው ሰው ራሱ መከራን ተቋቁሞ መልካም ሰብዕናን መገንበት እንደሚችል (በሳንቾ (ሰኢዶ)ና ምስጢር እንደምናየው) ያትታል። ስለ የአዕምሮ ጤና መታወክና የስጋ ደዌ በሽታ ያለኝን ግንዛቤ በእጅጉ አዳብሮልኛል። በተለይ ደግሞ ስለሁለቱም ህመሞች ማህበረሰባችን ያለውን የተዛባ ግንዛቤ በዝርዝር አሳይቷል።
የመጀመሪያ ምዕራፍ በመጀመሪያው አንቀጽ ላይ ደራሲው የሰው ልጅን የህይወት መልክ በጥቁርና ነጭ መካከል ያለ የግራጫ ዓይነት እንደሆነ የገለጸበት አንቀጽ ስለማረከኝ ከታች አጋርቼዋለሁ፦ "ግራጫ...ነጭ የሚጠቁርበትና ጥቁርም የሚነጣበት ሰፊ ግዛት ነው። የሕይወት መልክ አስር እጅ ጥቁርና ነጭ...የቀረው ደግሞ ግራጫ ነው ሊባል ይችላል። ግራጫ የበርሃን ኩርፊያ ወይም የጨለማ ፈገግታ ሆኖ ይታያል....ወደ አንደኛው የወገነ ግን ደግሞ ሁለቱንም አጣምሮ የያዘ ቀለምም የመስላል። በርግጥ ግራጫ ቀለም አይደለም...የራሱ መልክ የለውም...ብሎ መከራከርም ይቻላል። በሌላ በኩል ሁሉም ቀለማት የየራሳቸው ሰፊ የግራጫ ደርዝ አላቸው። ሰው የመሆን ሌላነትና ያውነትም...በራሱ ሰፊ ግራጫነት ውስጥ ተሰውሮ ተገልጧል። እያንዳንዱ ሰው ሎላ ሰው...ሎላውም ሰው ያው እንደ እኛው ሰው መሆኑን መረዳት አንዱ ግራጫ የሕይወት አተያይ ነው።"

Another amazing story by Dr miheret... this book thought me alot about Mental illness, poverty, secret in the family ... am just really happy I read it !!! I will recommend this book to everyone . Telling the truth I have cried reading it and also smiled to be honest I think this is the only book that made me cry . Tnx u Dr Miheret I am looking forward for another amazing book , both ur books were #1 . Hope everyone will enjoy reading them !

በጣም ደስ የሚል ይዘት ያለው መጽሃፍ ነው።ሰዎችን ከላይ ከላይ በማየት ሳይሆን በእውነተኛ ፍቅር ላይ በተመሰረተ ቀረቤታ ያለማዳላት መረዳት እንዳለብን አሳይቶኛል።ሚስጥረ እንደስሟ ሚስጥር ነበረች…ሌላሰው ደግሞ እንደዚያው ሌላሰው ሆኖ ነው ያገኘነው። በቀጣዩ መጻፍስ ምን ያስነብበን ይሆን??? አመሰግናለው!
