Archaeologist Amy Sandhurst discovers a cave near Cactus Hill, Virginia. The drawings on the ceiling baffle her, leaving her to believe whoever painted a Twitter username amongst images of mastodons had to be playing a joke. After further analysis, she realizes they were written nearly ten thousand years ago.
The survivors are not alone, traveling amongst fearsome, giant creatures and the Clovis people, who seem the most puzzling of all. Janet befriends young Punda, whose father, Gundre, is a hunter for the tribe. She is drawn to Gundre, who watches her across the fire, the flames of interest flickering in his eyes.
Trapped in the past, Janet realizes she may never be able to go home again. Although this new life isn’t something she could ever have imagined, she must adapt to survive. That could very well include becoming a caveman’s wife.

A pretty good time travel romance. Decent world building. Some pathos attending the whole leaving your whole life behind and knowing you would never hear music again for example. Decent romance , I enjoyed both the hero and heroine. I will not be going on with the series as I have read a few reviews and know I would not be happy with where the story goes.

It is a nice change of pace to have an erotic story set in the past, with cavemen rather than aliens.
However, that plot line is essentially what this is. Alien = caveman. Human female = human female. Female gets ripped from her environment and dropped into a strange new one and has to cope. How poorly or how well she does is the spine of the plot.
Another nice change is that we get to follow what happens in the modern world that the woman/heroine leaves. A woman back in the modern world begins tentative steps towards new relationships.
Note: No cliffhanger. I almost didn't buy the book because another reviewer complained there was a cliffhanger. Yes, this is the first of a series book (I haven't read the others yet.) But a main plot line and a subsidiary one do resolve, although the lives at the heart of Caveman have not ended. So, these characters could, as in real life, live longer and have more adventures.
Well edited with very few proofing or grammar errors. Not as much tension, not as many unsettling plot twists, as I prefer.
I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars; I always round up in favor of creativity, so 4 stars it is.

There weren't many reviews for this book so I suspected it might be another cheesy erotic story from Kindle Unlimited. An author I like very much suggested it so I gave it a try.
I liked it a lot
It's well written with only a couple of typos. The characters are smart and the dialogue is funny. Sometimes lol funny. The plot makes sense as does the science. At least it did to me. This is the first in a serial so no happy ending till book three. At least we hope.
It's two stories in one. Janet's adventure in caveman days and Dr Amy Sandhurst's discovery of Janet's mysterious messages on a cave wall. Awesome plot, right? It really is. Each gal has her own adventure and love story. It has sex scenes but not too explicit. No rape or anything you might expect from a caveman.
I'm ready for book two. Hope it is just as good.

I'm sick of authors stopping books when the story isn't finished in order to make you buy the next book. Seeing how this has become a common occurrence these days, I refuse to rate stories like this higher than one star. I don't care if I like the half (quarter?) of the story before it stopped. A true series has a proper ending, it doesn't just cut off. The novel is entertaining & totally unbelievable. I am reading the next book in the "series" (I borrowed it off Amazon, I'm not paying for this stuff!). It's stupid, it's not romantic in the least, sorry but stinking wildly hairy men are not a turn on, nor is not having soap or being able to wash properly. But still, it's an easy & entertaining read & I'm curious to see where the author takes the characters in both timelines.

Caveman is the first book I've read from Avery Kloss and I quite enjoyed. It didn't caught my attention from the very beginning but in the end I loved all the pre-historic setting and stuff. I've always loved it.
The mix of present and past time narration gave it a really nice pace to the story changing the atmosphere and making it more interesting. I really thought it was the end when it finished, but after reading the teaser of Caveman 2, I can say that things has started to look even more promising.

I liked the premises behind the book. I did enjoy the present and past stories. What I didn't like (major spoilers) the h claimed to be in love with the love of her life but hops in bed with caveman and doesn't even flinch about going into lust with an audience. It just doesn't ring realistic or it goes against her character. The whole bunch went native pretty quickly. The second h came off as just as flighty. She was in lust love with three different men over this book. I stayed engaged in the book but I finally decided after all the lust/love swapping this series is not for me.

Cliffhanger
I am only giving this book 4 stars due to the fact that it is a cliffhanger. I really wish the authors would post this information so that I can decide if I want to get the first book. I am not a big fan of time travel books but this was a good story. I am undecided if I am going to purchase the rest of the series.

This was intriguing and unique read that was definitely on its own for being different… One I am on the preverbal fence on how to write this review… Overall not bad but could use some help… Review will be live on my blog in September with the positives and negatives that this book had...

So if you want to read a book about time travel and the what if it could happen this is it. She travels back in time and meets someone in the age of the cave men. Some how it sucked me in and the story line intriqued me because I'm reading the second one now.

odd... sexy... interesting... confusing... amazing.. lol a lot of feelings went into this one... it was good.. hott.. sexy... yummy... but some parts confused me.. and kept me wondering what just happened lol.. i am glad i read it and i can't wait to read the rest of the series to see what happens

Very interesting. Made me think about time travel and all the missing planes and boats out there somewhere. Nice to think that our Indians came from a group of cavemen like these. Very good read!

Interesting.
I found this book completely believable. I think we all want to hope time travel is possible. I would recommend this book to all who have the imagination to believe.

Time travel fans will love a lot of the ideas and concepts, especially modern-man coping in times passed. I generally skip the romance time-travel books because I have little to no use for stylized relationships in the stories I read. Although I did indeed read the entire trilogy, I never stopped cringing at the way sex is worked into the story. I also never could buy into the strong protagonist putting up with and ultimately falling for the awful treatment from the bad-boy chief. Aside from all of that, the trilogy does a nice job suspending reality and imaging life 20+ thousand years ago.

This was pretty good. The plot was realistic. The characters were believable, even if it grossed me out that Janet slept with the caveman the 2nd day. I know why she did but it's still gross. I love that Phill integrated into the new culture right away. They all did except Claire which is understanding. And I want to see where Amy and Brian's relationship takes them. I have a theory, it'll be crazy if Janet turns out to be Amy's many great-grandmother 👵

Dieses Buch hat mich echt überrascht, weil ich vom Cover her so gut wie nichts erwartet hatte. Dabei fand ich den Schreibstil gut und die Story packend. Es wird mit zwei Handlungssträngen erzählt und das fand ich wirklich richtig gut gemacht. Einzig das recht (wie soll ich sagen) slutty Verhalten der weiblichen Protas im Buch war etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Entscheidungen konnte ich nicht nachvollziehen. Alles andere fand ich aber wirklich sehr packend und unterhaltsam.

I appreciated the basis for the story, but it dragged once she and survivors did the time hop.

Janet is a recently engaged, photographer in the modeling world who does a lot of traveling for her job. But one unfortunate flight never makes its final destination. Not only does that flight crash, but the survivors have time-traveled to an ancient world where the people aren’t even close to modern-day human beings and huge beasts roamed the earth.
Is it possible for modern humans to survive during this time-period which was extremely difficult for its natural born people to survive? When the survivors meet up with a group of men, who seem to be hunters, it does take them awhile to come to grips with the possibility that they time traveled. They also have to deal with the knowledge that they may never make it back to their own time-period and will forever be stuck in the past.
Gundre, a Clovis-period man, is interested in Janet and her well-being. Though they can’t speak to each other, they do find ways to communicate. Their communication has much to do with pointing, showing and a whole lot of body language. Gundre & Janet have a steamy relationship and quickly form a longer spanning relationship. We get a view in the daily life within the tribe and how they survive for long-term periods.
Meanwhile back in present day, which happens to be about 2 years after the plane crash, archaeologists discover a cave full of Clovis-era artifacts. Though it looks as though the cave has been vandalized with a modern twitter handle, carbon-test dating actually dates the paint used as 10,000 years ago. This causes the archaeologists to start searching for logical explanations and trying to figure out and prove what they can.
The book technically ends in an HEA without going into the futures of either the survivors living 10,000 years ago in the past or the modern-day archaeologists or the fiancée that Janet left behind. However there are 2 more books in this series. I have purchased them, but so far haven’t read them.

Caveman wasn't what I expected it to be. It was two stories in one but they tied together perfectly. The two main characters are Janet and Gundre. Janet is full of life and loves her life and loves her job. She got on the plane to a job location when her an her coworkers planes goes down. Gundre is the embodiment of an Alpha man hell he is one. He has a son named Punda. He finds Janet and the rest of the survivors and makes them apart of their tribe. Janet and Gundre even though it was a little unconventional it worked. Even with the language barrier they learned. The professor and Brian that was a curve ball. I did not see that coming. Overalls I like the book I'm eagerly wait on caveman 2 the ending was a tease. I need to know what happens next.

There was too much repetition, the women who got sent back in time were too winy (thankfully that got better), and everyone had a seriously bad case of denial. I also could have gone without the secondary story.
For anyone who wants to read this book, it’s best if you don’t take it too serious and you don’t get easily annoyed.
I’m moving on to the next book in hopes that things will get better as the story goes.

Surprising!
Didn't expect to like this, but the plot is really intriguing. It's a nice and read, kept me involved and interested the entire way through. Free download was great, and I'm definitely looking up the author to see what else is available.

Intriguing
I loved the concept of time travel. This is relatable and very easy to follow. I absolutely enjoyed the characters and I didn't mind that they got separated and had other lovers for me it didn't feel like Janet and Brian were meant to be.

I feel like the Author tried but really didn't deliver in the end. Could've been so much more.
