THE SYNAXIS IS BACK! The long awaited sequel to Robert David MacNeil’s Sci-Fi thriller, IONA PORTAL, is finally here! Two years have passed since the opening of the Iona portal. A battle continues to rage between two alien the warlike Archons from the parallel dimension of Hades, and the benevolent Irin, from the realm of Basilea. The Archons have just set in motion a plan to conquer the human race and take our world for their own. Our only hope lies in the Synaxis, a group of ordinary men and women conscripted by the Irin and given supernormal powers. With mere days left before our world erupts in a fiery nuclear holocaust, three Synaxis members must risk everything in a desperate mission that will take them to the depths of hell itself.
Robert David MacNeil is an author, world-traveler, and investigator of things supernatural. Over the last twenty years he’s traveled to 31 nations teaching on angels, demons, and supernatural encounters. His travels have taken him from the steppes of Mongolia to the jungles of Thailand, and from the Eskimo villages of Northwest Alaska to le fin del mundo, the “end of the world,” at the tip of South America.
Robert loves science fiction and suspense thrillers, and is a student of history–especially ancient Greece, Rome and medieval Europe. He’s particularly fascinated with Patrick, Columba, and the Celts of ancient Ireland and Scotland. The Celtic monks had a very special relationship with the angels. They also loved beer and invented whiskey. The Irish really did save civilization.
Robert has authored five non-fiction books under a different pen-name. IONA PORTAL is his first novel. He’s presently working on the sequel, IONA STRONGHOLD.
Robert David McNeil is such a gifted writer . It is obvious he did extensive research fire his books . One is caught up the characters and the places the books lead you . Can't wait to read book three.
Having read and been drawn into Book One of the Synaxis Chronicles, I've been looking forward to Book Two for some time. I was not disappointed. The story was well paced and held my attention, even though I'm not generally a fantasy fan. The book would have benefitted from more thorough editing - it would have been stronger without the distractions of grammatical issues. BUT it was exciting, and I'm so looking forward to Book Three.
I simply could not put this book down. I am searching and eagerly anticipating the third of this series. The descriptions of warfare and how the Presence surrounds us for healing is truly awesome!
I couldn't put it down! The fact that the book was written based on factual and religious research excited me! It's a feasible explanation of biblical events wrapped in a fiction novel. I love it!
