Saving Sawyer

Rate this book
Meet Sawyer Jameson.

On the outside, she's a normal seventeen year old girl with amazing friends, a charitable job and a loving family. She's beautiful, funny and easy to get along with and just by looking at her, you'd think that she's the perfect girl, living in the perfect world.

On the inside though, just waking up and living her day-to-day life is a struggle for Sawyer. Well, aware of this fact, Sawyer's mother forces to see a psychiatrist after school on a daily basis in order to cope with the tragic events Sawyer encountered a year prior.

Now meet Graham Cambridge.

Those who don't know him could easily stereotype him as being a blunt, selfish, egotistical golden boy, just because he likes to party and play football. Those who actually know him though know that he's actually quite the opposite of all of those things.

When Graham transfers from his elite prep school to Sawyer's high school and quickly takes an interest in her, things go from bad to worse. At least, that's what Sawyer's convinced herself of. What people don't realize though is that maybe they were wrong about Graham Cambridge and that his life is about as far from perfect as they come and that he and Sawyer are alike in more ways than one.

Two completely different teenagers that maybe aren't all that different after all are about to embark on a wild ride that neither of them could have ever expected. Can they help each other get past their demented previous tragedies? Or are their bygones too great to ever escape them? And can Sawyer ever truly be saved?

Full of romance, heartbreak and just a little bit of fate, the next couple of months will challenge both Sawyer and Graham in ways they never thought possible.

And maybe, just maybe, something beautiful will come out of it.

“Obviously not today and most likely not tomorrow and probably not even the day after that but one day, you’re gonna be okay”
This quote is a perfect representation of this book. This book shows how one person can completely alter a person. I feel like I relate to Sawyer, we are both very similar, we seem perfectly fine on the outside but are going through our own personal struggle. I think that is why I liked this book so much Sawyer relatability made me want to keep reading. I feel that the book truly showed me that it’s okay to hurt and be upset but you also have to get through it and the character of Aspen, Sawyer’s best friend, help to show me that.
I have read this book many times and everytime I read I can find myself relating to new parts but the quote from above is alway my favorite part, although I am usually crying through it.
This book brings out a lot of emotions I find myself screaming because I’m frustrated or crying because I hurt for the characters or I can’t stop smiling because I love the characters so much.
I would most definitely recommend this book to anyone although I would warn them about some sensitive topics the are brought up in it.

First off I just want to say, this story is on Wattpad but that doesn’t downgrade the enjoyment level. The writing was so great, and the author honestly was amazing.

Also, this book had such a powerful message, and the suspense leading up to what happened to Sawyer a year before was done absolutely amazing.

And I love Graham Cracker with all of my heart 😭❤️

Also, I JUST READ 50 BOOKS OMFG WTF! IM SO HAPPY AHHHHH!

(Next year I’m putting my reading goal as 100 because I started getting back into reading in the middle of the year, and yeah 😂)

- Another shit review from yours truly, Abi

- Kinda

- I guess this one is longer than my other ones

- I still gotta do a review on Queen of Nothing though

Sawyer seems perfectly fine on the outside but on the inside it is a struggle everyday to get through the day. When she meets Graham though things might look up for Sawyer. Graham is one of those guys that if you didn't know him he seems arrogant and blunt. Graham is helping Sawyer getting over things in her past and helping her find herself, saving her from herself almost. Sawyer goes through a lot and sometimes she alone without Grahams help. I think the author did that were she has to face obstacles alone without the help of Graham to show readers that she can also help herself. I love how the author portrayed the characters on how he/she thought people would be in the real world outside of fiction books.

dnf @ chapter 8. i used to love wattpad stories but now it’s hard to find really good ones where i like the writing. there was just too many unnecessary things written that i thought i could skim over and the only character i liked was graham.

I loved this book, I first discovered it on Wattpad in 2016. While reading, I assume it was one of those typical Wattpad books but this was actually interesting and an awesome read.

The ending was particularly beautiful because it showed Sawyer's growth in herself, and how she was able overcome certain challenges within herself because of that [growth].
