4.5 Trigger-Fest Stars
Wow, all I can is that this book was gritty as fuck and not afraid to "go there," as they say.
No one in the series is all good, no one is all bad, and the author wasn't afraid to have her "good" characters do things that might turn people off.
But that's what made them REAL people with REAL problems.
Very few, if any, people do the right thing all the time. And let's be honest, everyone's idea of the "right thing" in any scenario might be different.
That said, I thought Martin did a seriously excellent job of fleshing out Faye, her past traumas, and the conflicting emotions those traumas caused her to experience both in the moment and in hindsight. I was truly impressed.
Definitely looking forward to reading more from this author.

Utterly Disturbing
After reading the first serial of the six that this series is comprised of, I had to buy the complete series to see where this story went. I knew that wherever this story took me would be a dark, twisted place, that would leave me feeling conflicted and disturbed. If you're looking for a series that will make you think, "Man, that's really f'd up", then this one will deliver.
When we meet Faye, she's a junkie and a prostitute. A nineteen year-old runaway, she'd rather sell her body to strangers than return to her childhood home and the horrors that await her there.
Her stepbrother, Rhett, was the older guy that she crushed on as a young girl, only to be rejected. She hadn't seen him in years when he comes to take her home for her mother's funeral. Despite the years of separation, the attraction is still strong.
As the story progresses, all of the skeletons come out of the closet. Years of horrific abuse are brought to light. Guilt and shame seem to overshadow everything.
There were times that I cringed and plenty of times that I wanted to throw my iPad at the wall while reading this story. Faye's actions often seemed confounding and contradictory. I also couldn't help but feel that she traded one abusive relationship for another in the end.
I love dark reads, but I couldn't help feeling pretty disturbed by this story. Although there is a HEA, of sorts, I was left with a strong sense of unease. This definitely isn't a "feel good" story. Prepare to be conflicted.

Review of Epilogue and Bonus Scenes
The epilogue was short and sweet. Taking a look at Faye's life a year after Filthy 6 ends. Though the epilogue was short, we were also gifted with 5 additional bonus scenes!
There were two bonus scenes from Taylor's POV and I loved them both. It was such an interesting look into his mind. He’s such a fascinating villain, I really enjoyed that Megan didn’t shy away from doing something in Taylor’s POV. He’s a hated character but it doesn’t make him any less fascinating (or maybe that’s just my psychology degree talking). Regardless, I really enjoyed the scenes from his POV. 
There was another bonus scene from when Faye first left home which was very poignant. I don’t want to say too much about any of the scenes but everyone should definitely check them out!! All the bonus scenes were enjoyable but these were the three that really stuck with me.

This book took totally my life over during the few days that I was reading it.
I read all books together, so I won't speak for each of them but for the story. So, the story started and it was dark and then it became darker and then even more...I couldn't put down this book because I was looking for the light that will push away the darkness, and everytime that I was thinking "here it is", something was happening and the darkness was taking over all over again. The book is beautifully written. I felt anger, disappointment, pain, excitment, hope.... I love a book that can me feel, even if it's darkness, and I felt everything in this book. I honestly went to a dark place myself for these 2 days and I had difficulties to deal with everything that was going on. But it was worth it. This story needed to be said and to be read. And I wouldn't change a word in this book. There was no better way to say this story than how Ms. Martin did it.
Mostly the book is written from Faye's POV and later on we have few chapters from Rhett POV.
Faye is an amazing character. She makes wrong choices, has an addiction, has been abused but she is honest. She is totally sincere about everything. She says it herself that she'd do anything for a bump. And she is honest when she loves as well. I have to admit that in the end of the book I really understood her. I didn't agree with all her choices during this story but I could get it. I could understand the why's and the how's.
Rhett is also an amazing hero. He is far from perfect and he knows it. I have to admit that I didn't like him for the most part of the book as I didn't see how he was different from his father. In the last book, everything made sense and I understood him as well. To love is not to have...to love is to give! And he did it in the moment that it most mattered.
The end of the book was fantastic! I spent lot of time considering how the relationship of Faye and Rhett would even had the possibility to work after everything that happened. The author succeed to find the best end possible and wrote it in the most beautiful way. The bonus chapters of this edition were also fantastic! The last one specifically left me breathless! Great book!!!!
I definitely recommend this book to everyone who likes dark erotica but please be aware that this book is a DARK erotica!

This is one of my favourite reads of this year. I have so much to say. Stayed up way too late to finish this but it was too damn good. RTC!

“I didn’t want her to hurt. I wanted her to be happy. I wanted her to see all the good things life had to offer, rather than all the fucked up shit she dealt with once she ran away. But I couldn’t keep it together when I saw her like that… It made my stomach churn, made red cover my gaze. It made me want to lash out at her and destroy her. Ruin her, before she had the chance to ruin me.”
Rhett. At first I thought he was going to be the asshole stepbrother whose tough love belied his loyalty for Faye. He was an asshole in the dark and it was great when it led to forbidden encounters and rude language on his behalf. It goes less fun the more it meant he didn’t believe her and believed her abuser.
Yet he is one of the best heroes. Even when he did dumb shit like loving her so much to set her free. That was healthy for their character development but not healthy for my heart which was going to explode if they didn’t get their HEA.
It took a few too many missed connections. She was ready. He wasn’t. And then he was ready. But she wasn’t. They both had their dramatic exits but you will get a good grovel on the knees with a pretty speech and you will then get Rhett *finally* claiming his love of Faye.
“Some days I could see the ache of the past in her eyes. But unlike the past, we didn’t run from it. Not anymore. We would sit and talk about the darkness that clouded her beautiful eyes and sometimes, only sometimes, she needed more than that. Sometimes she needed my pain. Sometimes she needed the pain of the past to make the future more bearable. I gave her that.
It would always be this way. I would always give her what she needed. No matter the price, right down to my very soul-I’d give it all away.”
I stayed up too late to finish this one one reading. Thank you so much Megan D. Martin. This is one of my favourite romances of all time. It’s dark. The sex work and cocaine addiction wasn’t as hard to stomach as It was to read about what feels like a realistic portrayal of sexual abuse. There is so much nuance to Faye’s character - of wanting to run away from Taylor, but also slipping. Of acknowledging all the uncomfortable truths about the relationship, feeling confused. There is a piece here of the survivor wondering If she deserved it, if she made the monster. There is another piece about her knowing that she genuinely loved her abuser at certain points of their relationship.
But there is such a beautiful de-conditioning that takes place and I love the scene where she sets the past to bed, that final moment of will they, won’t they (with Rhett, of course) that she goes to jail to see Taylor. To say her piece without heat. That it was never her fault and that she survived regardless. He had no power over her, except for the traumatic memories. To also tell him that she loves Rhett.
When I first read the first chapter, I was excited for an edgy taboo read. I was pleasantly surprised to find a story that took me there with my emotions. I felt like I was rooting for them to get together in the end. So many missed opportunities that jacked my heart rate up in complete agony and despair (JUST SPIT IT OUT AND TELL THE OTHER HOW YOU FEEL FFS BABE).
It’s this dark and sexy read about step siblings, of a sex worker with substance addiction and a lawyer, that turns into this sad but hopeful road of recovery, a court procedural case that will twist your insides into knots over whether Taylor will come back for Faye as she predicts, and then a poignant Second Chance, Third Chance, Fourth Chance before Faye and Rhett are finally together in the same space at the right time…
Honestly was just hoping for a salacious read with a dark heroine and darker hero and everything was handled so well. Faye is one of my favourite heroines because we really get to understand her. I also think it must have been difficult to write Taylor - he was a one-note guy and his one-note was mentally unstable. He reminds me of the guy who was obsessed with Lolita.
Giving my flowers to Faye and to Rhett. Their characterization, their inner mologues were excellent over their undeniable love for each other, the conflict of a traumatic past that prevents them from actualizing it right away.
The Filthy Series reminds me a lot of Shantel Tessier’s The Sinner. I wonder if Shantel had read this or if she was inspired by a book. Both deal with a heroine with a substance addiction because of sexual trauma during developmental stages. They both feel some sort of guilt that they need sex to be rough or degrading. And while they hate their abuser, there is also a part of them that feels incredibly gaslit, manipulated, confused, unsure. I may edit my review of The Sinner because The Filthy series is such an amazing work.

This series, people! This book was ahh-fucking-mazing. It was fucked up in the worst of ways and I loved every minute of it. All the dark romance lovers out there, you should try this book.

Megan D. Martin was a new author for me. I picked this series up thinking "what the hell, let's give it a chance. It won't bite me and I can always dnf if it doesn't work for me" . The joke's on me cuz ...what did I know that the story would break me and remold me into this....this dazed person who's afraid to pick up a new book cuz she doesn't want the memory of this one to be tainted or forgotten. This is the type of story that stays with you long after you have finished it.

This is a dark romance with every available trigger you can think of. Rape, abuse (both emotional and physical) , violence, self harm prostitution, cheating, drug abuse, unsafe sex, fetishes, age gap, taboo ....and the list goes on. So consider that before entering this book. It's not a safe, fluffy type of dark romance where the MC's threaten their partners with a knife and that's enough of a thrill. It's dangerous, fucked up ...and toxic at the best of times but it traps you so beautifully.

As much as I've tried to scare you away from this, (and if you have still managed to read this review till here) you deserve to know that this is a love story. It's toxic but it's love. Faye is a prostitute who fucks strangers to score drugs and food every day. She ran away from home at 16 and she's happy in this freedom she has...well, as much happy as she can get. But her world turns upside down when Rhett, her stepbrother, comes back to tell her that her mother's dead. Rhett ...who shattered her heart.
"He was Rhett. My Rhett. He was supposed to be different. He was supposed to be my different. But he wasn’t."
She comes back with him but so does her demons. And she fights them all the way...just as she fights Rhett. Rhett....who hates her for being a prostitute but can't help but be attracted to her. He wants her but he hates her more. Believe me, toxic doesn't even begin to cover this.

What will become of them? Will they ever find a way to each other? Or will they continue this push and pull that just drowns and demolishes them? Will their truths come out? Will they tear each other with their hate until nothing is left or will love come?

This book brought out a really feral reaction in me. I cried. I dug my nails into my palms hard enough to break skin just so that I could escape the overwhelming pain inside my chest. This book is a bloody hell that you'll want to subject yourself to cuz you're a masochist and love torturing yourself with those feelings inside your mind and heart.

This book is a solid reminder of why I go through so many average books to reach that one book..the one that hammers at you until you feel everything. Until your walls break down and you let those characters inside. And then they live inside you. The ones you relate to.

Everyone, listen up!! This book is traumatic. There are themes of suicide, self-harm, cocaine addiction, pedophilia, rape, grooming, prostitution, abortion, parental death and probably more.
I did not know that going in 😻 and that's my own fault so don't be like me. I honestly thought this would just be a toxic step-brother romance but it was...not!! lol
Anywhosie. I dnfd book 5 because I cannot stand when the 'villain' (if that's what we're gonna call him) of the book escapes his uh confinement and goes after the heroine. I've just had enough and need them to live happily ever after.
I enjoyed the writing style. Like i mentioned, it's similar to the conciseness of The Risk. The story itself started off really promising. Our fmc is a prostitute and it was really interesting to see her perspective on it and what it was like for her. Our mmc shows up and picks her up, insisting that she attend her mother's funeral. And so the romance begins ig?
The miscommunication throughout this book could have been angsty, but instead it was stressful and frustrating, because the possibility of the mmc not believing the fmc was high.
Anyway, there were also some annoying elements to this. Like the girl's drug dealer is latino. FAB!! love the stereotypes lol. And in one moment the mmc and fmc have this weird conversation about lesbians where i was like... that was the most irrelevant convo i've ever read, what? I don't quite see why that was necessary at all.
Anywhosie, i liked the romance but it had so little screen time because the author was busy writing rape scenes lmaoooo... how does one sit down and write this shit...? anyway!
also there was not a single sex scene between the love interest and the fmc...like? and this is described as an erotic novel and all we got was step-dad rape and coercion like 😭😭 are we meant to be turned on or??
another thing, the fmc has obviously had it ROUGH, but i find it so annoyin when these "strong bad girl" fmcs shit on girls who are...yk...NOT traumatised LMAOOO. they talk about how they must be boring in bed because they're such goody two shoes and how she's too perfect and smiley and pretty. like...? you're not cooler bc you hate on decent people lmao. but, i did enjoy other aspects of the fmc's personality. she was strong and she did fight back so. i think she punched the mmc in the balls once haha.
well, those are my thoughts, children. i would personally not recommend this one.

There are no words to explain how extraordinary this novel is, Megan D. Martin wrote one of the most outstanding, phenomenal and unforgettable books I've ever read. It's unique and memorable and it takes you on one remarkable ride. This series was recommended too me by @Grey_Books_OHMY on instagram and I have to say thank you to her because this would still be sitting on my kindle if it wasn't for her and her lovely review. So I'm not going to lie I got sucked in from the very first page of book one and it was exactly what I needed. It was raw, dirty and dark and I craved it like a hooker on cocaine.
The more you read into the series the more twisted and complicated it is and boy oh boy the sex was hot, the characters were even hotter and the novellas got even darker and if you're a fan of dark, twisted and filthy reads this will be right up your ally. It will not disappoint. I'm so glad the author is finally putting the whole series together because it's one of those series that you need all the books too because well you do not want to end it. Surely you will read this in one day maybe in a few short hours because you will not put it down, even if your life depended on it.
I honestly can say it blew my mind away. I had a love/hate relationship with Rhett. I just wanted him to open up his eyes and see Faye was in love with him and I wanted him to feel the same way about her. And I wanted Faye to just get help, but let me tell you she is one of the most strongest characters I've ever read and I fell in love with her and I can see why Rhett did in the end. The reason why I gave the novel 4.5 stars out of 5 is because of the last novella; I felt the last book was to sweet. There was no darkness in the last novel and I felt like it needed it. But other than that this book landed on my top favorites this year.
Now I'm so excited to read more from this author and fall in love with her other characters.

That Feeling When you go in for the erotica and stay for the story. Actually there wasn't much in the erotica department, IMO. I mean, not compared to the crazy-ass story. I would've thought it'd be hard to redeem a teenage heroine who's a cocaine-addicted junkie prostitute. I mean, the story opens with her having sex with a John for some cash for some blow. Not the most pleasant of scenes, or main character, and doesn't leave a whole lot of room for connection.
It only goes from dark to darker. It may be too dark for a lot of people. I had some doubts myself, although I have a tendency to be attracted to dark things. But the depths this story brings you to, it's pretty damn low.
The story centers around Faye's relationship with her stepbrother, who never knew the family secrets, and her relationship with her stepfather. The two relationships are both intertwined, and both a mix of love and hate.
There were a lot of editing errors that caused some minor irritation. Sometimes enough grammatical/spelling errors can ruin a story for me; luckily the writing was good enough here to keep me in the story, but I do hope she gets a better editor for future books.

So I read this first as individual books. Let me say that I enjoyed this one even more. We got to see what happened in the beginning, the middle with Faye, and yes Taylor's end of what actually happened. He deserved it.
It still ticked me off that Rhett was so slow on figuring out what happened to Faye. Sarah was such a good person it's sad that she was dragged along. Hope she found her happiness.

This was so fucking painful to read. OMG, holy fucking shit! How did this author write this shit and fucking survived? This was, by far, THE MOST EMOTIONAL fucking book I've ever fucking read, in the history of fucking ever!
This story, fucking Faye's story, was hard. It was brutal, exhausting, frightening, disgusting, heartbreaking, and powerful. There's lots of blood here, there's a fuckton of sex, there's a piece of shit villain. But this is not your everyday dark romance. This shit is dark red, a fucking bloody, disfigured dark red heart, pumping, wildly, inside its dead cavity.
This story follows Faye, who you meet at 19 years of age and you get the feeling that she's your typical, young, hardass, and you prepare yourself to join her journey, filled with just bullshit shit a teen would do. Boy was I ever so fucking wrong. Rhett was just as broken, every fucking character in this book was broken. But Rhett was perfectly broken for her. The scenes with the two of them had me either tearing up or wanting to choke them both! The bonus scenes were just fucking perfect. They were that little extra hit that you didn't even fucking know needed and they worked better as bonus scenes than as part of the story.
BIG NOTE: *This book has triggers.* Fucking triggers of abuse, brutal physical abuse, verbal, mental, the works. This book is about a failed society. How the people who should be trusted to protect you and love you, are the very same ones who are fucking you, literally, as you are bleeding out. This book is about second and third chances, about redemption, about survival, about learning that the shit that happens TO you, is just that. It's something that you survived. It's NOT who you are. That you can create a life outside of this shit. That evil can be destroyed and contained. That love is not about what's comfortable, what you know, it's not about staying cuz you're afraid what awaits you out there or even what's behind your own closed door IF you don't stay. This book was about not being ashamed of what happened to you or what you need in order to feel alive.
This book made me mad, made me tear up, made me feel shit, it was fucking hard and fuck you V for MAKING me read it. This chick just casually texted me that I have to read it and then I started two days of fucking emotions, so fuck you. I took a star for the grammatical errors, it was too much for me to ignore.

This has a lot of triggers. Rape and drug abuse. It is with a heavy heart I advise you not to read if those subjects aren’t something you are comfortable with.
When I started this series I thought it would be a step brother and step sister taboo relationship. I didn’t realize that it was so much more deeper. Rape isn’t something I ever like to read. It’s a very heavy subject for me. So I had a hard time reading this novel.

This was an amazing series filled with pain, love, trauma, and filthiness. I fell in love with these reckless and morally grey characters. No one was completely good and I adored that. Even the MC's had their big list of flaws but that made them more relatable. Those flaws made them human.
This series put me through the ringer because I suffered and felt the pain from these characters. Faye and Rhett went through so much on their own and together. I didn’t know what was going to happen but, in the end, love prevailed.
This is a series I’ll forever have in my heart and I definitely recommend everyone to read. Also check TW's before entering these books. Toodles!

it was one of the most difficult reads ive ever had and there were moments were i thought it was too much and too unnecesary, but all in all it is a great book, not for everyone for sure.

All six books are pretty short so I'm just going to do a general review for the whole thing.
I LOVED the first four books. There were all kinds of fucked up shit and triggers but it was so addicting. Like I'm talking bout cheating, violence, abuse, child abuse, drug addiction—specifically cocaine. It's rly descriptive so if coke is something you are or have been struggling with, this book doesn't make it easy.
I was frustrated with the h's situation 90% of the time, and she's not always the most likable person, but if you just roll with the story I swear it's so addicting.
The last 2 books lost my interest so I kind of just skimmed them. It was probably cuz I binged all 6 books at once but I don't have a life so 🤷🏻♀️
Overall thoughts: if you like train wreck stories with a HEA, read this shit

I literally have goosebumps right now as I just finished this series. There are no words.
First I’ll apologize to Ms Martin, the first book I read from you was your first attempt at contemporary from what I gathered. Didn’t really care for it. Even said I wasn’t likely to read another book of yours. Boy am I glad my reading buddy pushed me into this gem.
Miss Martin, please never ever stop writing dark romances.
From the beginning I knew that Faye was going to piss me off and love her death at the same time. She did. She was so tragically flawed it was beautiful. Not once did I pity her, thanks to the authors writing of course. Did I feel sad about what happened to her? Hell yes!! I have never in my life dry heaved over a book. This one did it. Faye did that. All her feeling I felt.
Rhett, was a whole different ball game. He was hot and cold in the best a-hole way. I definitely wanted to throat punch him many times. But you can’t not love him. It happens. And it stays with you.

The story did drag here and there, but it wasn’t as noticeable or commented on.
Other than that. Hands down one of the best dark romances I’ve read this year!

First I’ll apologize to Ms Martin, the first book I read from you was your first attempt at contemporary from what I gathered. Didn’t really care for it. Even said I wasn’t likely to read another book of yours. Boy am I glad my reading buddy pushed me into this gem.
Miss Martin, please never ever stop writing dark romances.
From the beginning I knew that Faye was going to piss me off and love her death at the same time. She did. She was so tragically flawed it was beautiful. Not once did I pity her, thanks to the authors writing of course. Did I feel sad about what happened to her? Hell yes!! I have never in my life dry heaved over a book. This one did it. Faye did that. All her feeling I felt.
Rhett, was a whole different ball game. He was hot and cold in the best a-hole way. I definitely wanted to throat punch him many times. But you can’t not love him. It happens. And it stays with you.

I AM FILTHY BUT I LOVED IT!
Ok, this is a six-part serial that I read as one huge book. My review will be based on all six novellas instead of six separate reviews. I probably should have done them separate, but shit happens, you're getting one huge review!!!
I was asked by a fellow blogger if I would like to review this, I wasn't sure that I actually had the time and quite frankly I'm still not sure I had the time as a few other books get put on the back burner so that I could plaster my face to my Kindle and soak up the dirty, filthy, evil contents of this beautiful serial.
This book is unlike any other I have ever read. Sure, I've read about prostitution, drug usage, rape, and everything else in between. This one just seem to be portrayed in such a way that shook my soul and changed me forever. Its darker and grittier than anything I've come across in along time. It will make you so irritated and so miserable and believe it or not you might even chuckle sometimes.
Faye is a homeless prostitute in the beginning of the story. She's only 19 years old and she seen and done more than most of us will see and do in our lifetime. She's basically alienated herself from an wicked life that nearly killed her. That's not to say that the life she chose to go to is not killing her, but for her the prostitution and the drug usage is a far better choice then what she came from. She harbors dark secrets about her step father and her mother. She's been in love with her stepbrother almost her entire life, but she can't seem to find her way back to him and he seems to have the same problem.
Rhett is Faye's step brother... he's unquestionably a person I could love but he is also a person I could hate! He tries to bring Faye back to the life she ran from, convinced that life she left behind is healthier than the life she chose for herself. Maybe so... He doesn't know the horror she lived through under his father's roof but he's determined to bring her back. He says many wounding things to Faye without knowing why she lives her life as a prostitute and a drug addict. Quite honestly I think Rhett should have seen what was going on right in front of his face, but sadly it would be years until he actually figured it out.
Taylor is Faye's stepfather and the evilest villain I've ever seen in the book. He's a vile piece of shit and on top of being a pedophile and a rapist this asspipe doesn't even think he's done one thing wrong. He's sick, he's twisted, and he's one mean son of a bitch. Every time I would read the word "Daddy" or "Faye baby" my insides would cringe, my heart would bleed, and the hair on the back of my neck with stand on end.
The supporting character cast in this book I could lump into two categories those I love and those I hate! First up on my list would be Jessica, Faye's mother. Although she doesn't have much dialogue in this book, the dialogue she does have is so damaging and so malicious that I can't even grasp the concept of what she did to her own daughter for her own benefit. I hated her! Next up would be Sarah, Rhett's girlfriend since college. Sarah was a side character that I found hard to relate to at first. She's beautiful and she's smart but she cries all the time and that in itself was getting on my last damn nerve. I know Sarah had very good intentions with Rhett and with Faye and in the end I fell completely in love with her. The last supporting characters that I absolutely loved where Rhett's coworkers, Roger and Cayden. These two supported Rhett and Faye from the very beginning to the very end. It didn't matter to them what Faye did in her past, they accepted her unconditionally and for that I will love those two till the day I die.
I'm glad I read this! I love Angie from Twinsie Talks for recommending it to me! This story will stay with me forever and then some! It was so gripping that I could not put it down. The characters were undeniably powerful and I felt like I lived this ordeal right along side each and every one. The dialogue felt natural and the pacing swift. I seriously think I would have killed someone if I had to wait for all these books to come out... thank God I got to read them back to back! Ms. Martin created the perfect amount of tension throughout the entire tale that I was blown away by the climax. I LOVED THIS SERIAL!

This book was so intense! Every possible trigger warning can and should be applied to it. It’s definitely not a safe book. That being said, I loved the story and the writing.
There were a few plot point I didn’t agree with but overall it was a really good read. I would recommend it to people who don’t mind dark (reaaallyyy dark), angsty reads.

I read the Filthy series in 2014 when it was still slowly coming out and 7 years later, it's still stuck with me. I can't get Faye and Rhett out of my head or heart.
Their story is not pretty in the slightest. There are no sunshine and rainbows and joy. Instead it's filled with misery, addiction, pain, and hurt. It's harsh and raw and so full of angst, it would cause me emotional pain just diving into their world.
This is one of those books I wish had more attention and coverage from readers. It's a hidden gem.

This story is one of my favorite dark themed books. It pulls you in right away and oh my god the feels...I really get her, and all the emotions she has. Anger, frustration, hopelessness but also that smidge of hope that gets chrushed again and again.
I love Faye, love Rhett and how imperfect they both are. I love how it's written, all the little flashbacks and how you get to know Faye more and know more about her fucked up life she was handed.
Such a broken, but at the same time such a f*cking strong woman dealing with all the shit and picking up the pieces as she goes time and time again. I probably would have crumbled long before her. My heart broke like every other chapter. This story feels so real and for someone, somewhere this has to have been real in some way, someones living through hell like this. One thing for sure - this dark story really puts your life in another perspective.
Anyway I love this book series. SFM. Don't know what it says about me but there it is.

So, at first I read the first 3 books and I was so disappointed that they were so short, and ended on cliffhangers, so I decided to wait to read the rest after the whole series was complete. I loved this series! I mean, if you like a book full of drama, angst and heartbreak, this is the series for you. It's a beautifully sad, heartbreaking story, I DEVOURED EVERY WORD. For the 1st 3 books being so quick and short, she made up for it in the 2nd half of the series. The series is fulfilling and complete, it didn't leave me hanging, or wanting more. It was perfect.

I have given a 5 star read in a while. If your looking for rainbows and unicorn kinda of read, this is NOT for you. Its dark and gritty and has topics that aren't for everyone. I thought the writing was incredible. How bad people can do bad things to good people and put them on the path that they end up on. I liked Faye and the emotions she went through. Same with Rhett. I think these are great characters. I read the books one after the other and I'm glad I did so I wouldn't forget what was going on.

This series was amazing, from the first page to the last line.
Megan D Martin managed to create a story that was so enthralling yet emotionally devastating, that I was unable to put the book down. Each installment had me begging for the next. There were times reading Faye's tale that I thought my heart would break, and I wasn't sure how Megan could redeem her, but she was able to do so beautifully.
