What lengths would you go to if someone you loved was in pain and you could help them? What would you sacrifice?
Anjali’s journey has begun as she searches for ten angels that will help her fulfill her destiny of ending the world. While searching for her troubled Angel of Death, Alazar, she meets a handsome mortal named Derick, a paranormal investigator who has stumbled upon the hiding place of her dangerous angel. She must figure out how to stop Alazar from destroying the town while keeping the alluring mortal safe.
Alazar, the Angel of Death, is struggling to carry out his task of tempting the mortals, but is pushing them beyond their limits and forcing them to harm others or themselves. He believes that his Master, Anjali, has abandoned him and his brothers and left them to suffer on their own. Too many years have passed and he has lost hope. He blames Anjali for all his pain and is on the verge of becoming a Rogue Angel.
Derick and his friends, the Spirit Experts, are exploring a Romanian castle for proof of the afterlife. When a mysterious woman named Annie befriends their group, Derick has trouble focusing on the investigation and can’t stop thinking about this fascinating woman. She is beautiful, but he can tell that a deep sadness lies within her. He can see that she carries a heavy burden on her shoulders, but can’t understand why. She speaks of love as something unattainable and claims that she can never find happiness. He wants to love her, but she keeps pulling away from him.
Can Anjali convince Alazar that she is there to save him, not force him into subjugation? Can she make him remember who he was, and who he is meant to be? Can she heal years of torture under Lucifer’s rule?
Will she keep Derick from learning her real identity as they become closer? Will she be able to walk away from the irresistible mortal she finds herself drawn to and return to her life in Hell?

Rating : 3.5 stars Minus half a star from the first book for two reasons: cheating & slut shaming.
+ The cheating part is explained and has a valid reason -as valid as infidelity can be; + Slut shaming is never okay, but then again, it does not come from the author but from the characters.
The story Anjali is trying to find herself as the Bringer of the Apocalypse and she needs to find her Angels for that. Her first target? Alazar, the Angel of Death and leader of the ten, that vowed to kill her.
The cast Michelle Anjali : insecure & cold-ish, super beautiful teenager/Lucifer's plaything/Bringer of the Apocalypse/Destroyer/Lady Black/Hell's Third in command/Super hot cool MC compassionate in an abusive relationship maturing & becoming ultra badass lusting after a boring character
Lucifer : Prince of Darkness depressed with huge anger issues acts like a sad puppy in front of Michelle pity fuck takes a swing at his lover from time to time mostly absent from the book
Hades : Hell's Second in command/Jackass cunning yet kind of loyal total psycho pathetic ultra charismatic (unfortunately) mostly absent from the book best character so far lust for his boss' love
Alazar : Angel of Death depressed crazy borderline bipolar
Maraquette : Lucifer's former lover Former Hell's third in command psycho & jealous bitch most pathetic villain character ever
Derick : boring human annoying human stupid human useless human love struck idiot has an uncle Benjamin favorite phrase : i know (whatever experience you can have in life)
Supporting characters more or less important : An angel with trust issues An archangel who still has massive daughter issues A crazy archangel out for blood
My impression The second book is actually a bit slower than the first book because we follow more than just Anjali. There is Alazar, the crazy and sad angel, Derick, the remedy against insomnia, Maraquette, Michael, Nathaniel and whatever character that is passing through. Because of that, the book can become a bit boring and tedious, uneven with its characters; some not interesting enough to keep you from skipping pages but with many highlights from Anjali -and Hades.
Anjali is growing on me. She's not making that many mistakes and I guess she could appear a bit bland but I really like the compassionate and forgiving part of her. She left her human life but isn't able to truly strip down from all the goodness in her to truly become the Bringer of the Apocalypse yet. She is dealing with her dual personality: the good and the bad and the anger issues that accompany the transition.
To all my reverse harem buddies and followers, I'd just like to point that the angels are not part of Anjali's harem. The relationship between her and them is somewhat much more profound, one of dependence and complete trust, and yes, love -although they will all have a long way to go for it to happen. But because of this beautiful and intense connection between them, the romance part might seem less interesting and important. Do not worry, all love interests are not Derick.
After her true nature is revealed, the daughter of the angel Gabriel, Anjali, attempts to reconcile with her destiny, one that will go against all that her heart believes. Now Lucifer’s plaything, she still holds more power than other fallen angels. As the Master of the Predznak, Anjali has no idea what her position will entail, where her harbingers have gone or why they left. Have they become insane killers? Are they running like rabbits from their Master who has finally come for them? The leader of the Predznak has vowed to kill the Master for not claiming them earlier. Now Anjali must hunt Alazar down to claim or kill him before the humans feel the wrath of beings who have been deceived, tortured and hidden away.
He is near and a group of human paranormal investigators are after proof of spirits in the castle he hides in.Anjali finds an attraction to a human who would have been her perfect match had she never learned who she really is. Can Anjali keep everyone safe from the wrath of Alasar? Will they battle to the death? Does she have the power to control this mighty warrior of Death or has she been snared in a death trap herself? The future of humanity may lie in her hands, angels from above and below, as well as the human she loves are watching as Anjali tries to rein in her powers and her army.
Settle in for a demonically detailed tale filled with page after page of suspense, intrigue and romance that will leave you out of breath. Tabitha Barret shares her talent for fantasy romance in The Third Throne: Angel of Death. This is not a quick read with a brief satisfaction quotient. Without a wasted word, Ms. Barret takes us through the levels of hell, the strange personalities of the angels and the rules they must follow. With an interesting take on the relationship between good and evil, Ms. Barret dares to tempt the Fates and create worlds that come to life, and sometimes blur the lines between dark and light. Anjali’s kindness seems ill-suited to her position, or does her humanity make her the perfect one to hold a high position in Hell? Great writing, intensely detailed, filled with subplots and angst, the moments of romance become all the more necessary to lighten the dark tone.

I thought I loved CJ until I met Derick (though I’m still holding out that we at least see how CJ is doing at some point). I wasn’t sure how new men being added in all the time was going to work (and am still pondering for the future books), but so far I’m pleasantly surprised! I find the sarcasm and banter between Anjali and Hades highly entertaining and love how the book cycles through various points of views, sometimes from one paragraph to the next. I’ve never read another book like it but I think the author does great in this writing style and you get to experience everyone’s thoughts and feelings in real time vs events replaying in chapters while going through multiple characters POV’s. I’m curious to see how Anjali and Alazar’s relationship grows and how more men will affect Lucifer.
After coming to grips with being in Hell and being part of the ruling Triad Anjali sets off to find her Predznak, her Angels, her Harbingers. She doesn't know where to start or how to find them. She finds a few clues and goes with it. Along the way she comes across a group of Paranormal researchers filming in the Castle she is intent on searching.
Can she keep the mortals safe from her unstable Angel of Death? Can she win him over and claim him as her Servant before he goes Rogue and she needs to end his life? Will the denizens of Heaven, Hell and the Mortal Realms survive if she does, or or worse yet if she doesn't? Does Anjali deserve happiness and can she find it in her after life? Or is the Bringer of the Apocalypse truly destined to live a life of misery and sadness?
Anjali strives to find the answer to all of this and more and takes the reader along for the journey. I was sucked in and couldn't put the book down. I am truly enjoying this series and can't wait to start the next book. But will I be ready to wait for the next, and the next, and the next after that? If they continue to hold me like the first 2 have, you can bet your sweet booty I will! I just may not have any nails left by the end! :)
The first book of the series was totally awesome - the characters were sharply drawn, the action was jamming, the romance was fabulous. Not so much in this book - the writing is choppy, the main characters are idiotic without any drive to confront some obvious problems and the entire crew consists of addicts of some kind. Couldn't follow nor could I understand the actions and idiotic decisions of heroine. Too bad - there was soooo much potential with the first book.
2,5 stars ish Okay i don´t really know what to say about these characters, i have lost all hope. I feel like they all act very emotionally and rash, no fucking control and all of em weaker than i thought. I feel like none of these characters have really shown how "scary" they can be, just talk and no showing An holy hell that slut shaming is not fkn funny, but i have more understanding cuz they live in the 90´s . I mean i don´t like it, but i get why. They all are old as fuck. And cheating is not okay whatsoever
Angel of Darkness is the second book of the Third Throne series that tells the story of Anjali, the daughter of the angel Gabriel and the path she must follow to fulfill her destiny, a cruel and painful one nonetheless. In this book our heroine is not called by her human name, Michelle, anymore. She has accepted she is the daughter of an angel and God’s tool to punish the sinners. Nevertheless, her power is out of control which is why her father agreed to let her stay with Lucifer. However, along the way something went wrong with that pact between Gabriel and the Prince of Darkness because she forgot her identity and lived as a human for quite a while until Lucifer found her. Now, she is trying her best to play the part of Lady Black, the blood servant and mistress of Lucifer while searching for her angels in order to fulfill her destiny as The Destroyer. It seems kind of easy that she just have to search for her angels. Nevertheless, things are never as easy as they seem. Her angels have waited for her much more than she could imagine. Some had gone mad, consumed by anger and need of revenge. No matter how good her excuses are, that would never made up for the tortures they faced at the hands of Lucifer and his then psyco mistress. Nonetheless, Anjali won’t give up. Starting from this book, the author is and will be focusing in Anjali’s search and her efforts to convince her angels that they must join her to fulfill her destiny and that the reason of her absence was not her fault but a foul play of her father and Lucifer. As you can imagine, the first angel she wants so obtain is the Angel of Death, Alazar, but he is not that thrilled to abandon his murder fantasies or thirst for vengeance when Anjali is concerned. He promised the rest of her angels that he will free them from their master and there is no way he is willing to break that promise. I have to admit I was quite impressed with the development of Anjali. At the beginning of the first book she was so calm, scared, insecure and troubled and even though in this book she still fears and worries, she was turned into a stronger character that recognizes that there is so much more resting on her shoulders than her own insecurities. I kind of like her much better now and came to admire her strength and determination. After all, not everyone would put up with the Prince of Darkness the way she does. Lucifer, on the other hand, is kind of disappointing me. I don’t mean that I don’t love what the author has done with the character because I do. What I mean is that I thought that he was actually changing but in this book we get to see how he keeps struggling with the evilness and the little sparks of kindness that Anjali has awoken in his heart. We get to see him beat her up in the heat of the moment but as soon as he realize what he has done he turns into a mass of tears and tries to do anything to heal her and comfort her. He is actually scared that she might hate him, distance from him and leave him. I kind of like the side of him that dotes upon her but I kind of understand that she is trying to put a distance between her when he beats her up, accident or not. I truly hope we will get to see some good nature changes in his attitude without risking the credibility of his character. Another interesting character is Alazar. The novel starts with his suffering and the one of the rest of Anjali’s followers while they waited for her. You actually get to see how they lose hope and turn sides. It is kind of disappointing but understandable. He is so full of rage and stubbornness that it doesn’t matter how good of an argument Anjali will present him with, he won’t believe her at all. He wants nothing more than see her pay or his suffering. I think that is still the case, even if it is just a little bit, at the ending of the novel. Hopefully, he will soon return to his senses. I truly recommend this novel to the paranormal romance fans that are looking for a fresh view of Heaven, Hell and the afterlife.

Book: Angel of Death
Series: The Third Throne Book 2
Author: Tabitha Barret
Publisher: Tabitha Barret
Genre: Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance
Rating: M / V
The book opens to Angali finally knowing who she is and her purpose – find and claim her angels, the Predznak. After searching through Hell and finding hidden information about her Predznak, she decides to search for Alazar, the Angel of Death. The problem becomes a “where in the world” situation to have any clue where to look for him. Anjali finally figures a way to start tracking Alazar and quickly finds her angel.
Unknown to Anjali, Alazar has been waiting thousands of years for the return of his Master. He is done waiting! His anger reaches a peak, and he has gone so far as to claim first right to kill her for her abandonment of her angels and the horrific treatment they received in Hell awaiting her.
As Anjali finds Alazar's hiding place in the Mortal Realm, a group of humans (the Spirit Experts) have been lured to the same location by another force, searching for proof of the supernatural. Anjali fears for the safety of the humans, and strangely, has an immediate connection with one of them. The Spirit Experts cannot be deterred from their mission, so Anjali joins their expedition to try and protect them from her angel's wrath.
It quickly becomes uncertain if Anjali will be able to save anyone – her angel, the humans, even herself.
I enjoyed this second book more than the first book, because I understood the characters and what was going on so much clearer from the beginning. Anjali has grown into a much more complex character with different facets of her personality shining out of the pages. Comparatively, Lucifer and Hades have also grown, and I find myself more compassionate of them and their struggles.
The writing is richly detailed and flows fast and free. I read the entire book in less than 36 hours, so well done! I am even more excited for the third book in the series.
Technical note: I read for pleasure not proofing, so this is a general perusal: I counted approximately 6-7 misspelled words, 2 incorrect verb tenses, and 1 incorrect personal pronoun.
This is an interesting story and I am enjoying it. There are a lot of errors which is annoying but the story so far is still good enough to keep me reading. There are also a couple places that drag on a little and could do with less information.
Well I honestly didn't think this book could be better than the first but I was wrong. This book tells more of the story and sets a bigger scene and brings in a whole new lot of characters - who are fabulous and it also tells more about the story to come. I love how it all comes together and your never thinking "whys that" or "that's odd". Seriously Tabitha Barret is a totally amazing writer and she has become one of my favourite authors - and I've read a lot of books that I forget about soon after. I'm now off to read the next book in the series ......... Angel of Vengeance. Let's hope none of my family need me for the next 24 hours as I'll be busy in my own little world.
Wow, it gets better. While Lucifer takes a back seat role in this book, you can still feel his temper when he does make an appearance. Anjali focuses more on finding her angels, namely Alazar, and battling to keep her mortal Derrick alive. This series just keeps getting better
It took me a bit to warm up to the story, but soon it was off and running. The complex interplay of characters and intense imagery make it a fairly intense read.
This is a good sequel, and I look forward to the next book!
