Culver

Rate this book
A standalone novel by best selling author Meg Jackson...

“Culver,” Boon said from behind me, his voice betraying no trace of anxiety or pressure. He finally reached out and pushed me to the side, breaking eye contact with my father to look at me.

BOON

Boon is confident, rich, and he’s got a grin that’d melt any girl’s heart. But like most bikers, he’s got a dark past that he’d like to keep secret. And his last name, Culver, is something he rarely speaks aloud.

SAMANTHA

Samantha has one goal for her graduation trip to Las Vegas - she wants her first kiss. She knows her father, a sheriff, definitely wouldn't approve. But the moment she locks eyes with Boon, she knows she can't possibly resist.

This novel is adapted from The Biker’s Touch Trilogy.

Overall Opinion: I really hate giving such low reviews, but this really wasn't the best. The ending was out of nowhere (and at 75% on my kindle!). It was like the was checklist that the author wanted to follow, but not much else was put into it.
Checklist:

While it held my attention at the beginning, I found myself skimming and eventually forcing myself to keep going...where in reality I probably should've added it to my dnf shelf. I gave it a try because the few reviews if found were on the higher side, and the sample was interesting,..but maybe I should've passed on this one. It says a MC romance, but there is no interaction with the MC except getting high with a few in a bar, running from them, and dealing with them kidnapping someone. I personally wouldn't call it a "motorcycle club romance".

Storyline: This is Samantha and Boon's story. Samantha just graduated high school and heads to Vegas with her 2 best friends in the summer before starting college. They grew up in a small town and want to be a little crazy. They each have goals for the trip and Samantha's is to hook up with a stranger. They meet Boon in a bar one night and Samantha is shocked because she is affected by a man for the first time. They hang out with him and realize he is a biker. After a hot kiss, the duo separate for a couple days. They reunite and things get steamy. Samantha leaves Vegas and is surprised when Boon follows her home the next day. He is trying to get away from under his father's thumb and separate from his quickly turning from bad to worse MC, and he wants to start over with Samantha in her small town. After some parent drama, some more sexy times, stealing a car, kidnapping, and being arrested, the couple find their HFN.

POV: This was in Samantha's POV

Overall Pace of Story: Not so great. Slow and fast at times, and a case of "instalove" at least for the H.

H rating: 3 stars. Boon. He was stuck in his father's mc and didn't like the cards he was dealt and wanted to change that...so that was something.

h rating: 2 stars. Samantha. She cried way too much...liked her friends better.

Angst level: Low. Biker drama, but overall a really mild read.

Heat level: Moderate/high. This straddles the line between romance and erotica. I do feel like the story was the main focal point, but there was a good bit of sex (not so many scenes, but they were really long) that was not all that great because I found myself skimming most of it...still consider it romance though.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: There is an epilogue after a really abrupt ending. No commitments for the couple...so a HFN ending at the most.
