Schultz and Julia’s affair is a burning flame of temptation. Their relationship is headed toward a future both of them desire until a mistake from her past returns to haunt them both.
When the fragile bond of trust is broken between them, it will take more than a promise of redemption for the two of them to find their way back to one another.
Kennedy Layne is a USA Today bestselling author. She draws inspiration for her romantic thrillers in part from her not-so-secret second life as a wife of a retired Marine Master Sergeant. He doubles as her critique partner, beta reader, and military consultant. Kennedy also has a deep love for cozy mysteries, thrillers, and basically any book that can keep her guessing until the very end. They live in the Midwest with their menagerie of pets. The loyal dogs and mischievous cats appreciate her writing days as much as she does, usually curled up in front of the fireplace.
I loved this look into "other" characters from the CSA series! Schultz has always been a "dark" entity in the stories, but he's always come through for all the characters. I super liked how the author took this character and made him more real for me. She's described him how I thought he would be, and his love interest was just as interesting. The story is classic KL and in just a brief moment we get all the adventure, suspense and love that we have come to adore with her writing. Well. Done. Well done indeed.
Kennedy Layne has a smooth yet exciting writing style. Her books entice her reader in a way that makes the reader feel like part of the story. A blackmailer has decided to blackmail Julia and she is worried about how that will affect Schultz her boyfriend and this book is how the issue is resolved and how love can conquer all. It is a great quick read. Her character development is fantastic and you will like and care for Julia and Schultz very early in the story. Great job.
Oh how happy I was to see another CSA book and this one didn’t disappoint either. Schultz finds out that Julia has been keeping a secret from him and he’s beyond mad – but when she udders those three words he’s been dying to hear and to say himself it breaks what he’s feeling and it’s on from that point on – let me tell you’re in for a shock on who the bad guy is.
A short but fun novella! There was a good amount of story here despite its short length, and I really connected with the main characters. The plot was interesting, and I look forward to reading more by this author.
I love the play between the characters of Julia and Schultz. The only thing I didn’t truly like was that the story was extremely condensed. It’s a shame that Julia and Schultz story wasn’t longer, I would’ve liked to learn more about them.
This is a very poor ending to a good series. The first 7 books were well written but this just feels like an after thought. There is no real plot to it and quite frankly a bit of a waste of money.
For a short story this was packed with anger at the thought of betrayal, suspense, and man who worked for president liking the kinky stuff in the bedroom.
Schultz Jessalyn was a Special Assistant to the National Security Advisor to the President. His old friend Jon with GAPS has called him to his house to discuss something private with him. Schultz had no idea that the private thing would be about the woman he loves and was about to ask to marry him. He doesn't deal well with feeling like he had been lied to for weeks by Julia. I have to say when we first meet Schulz the way he was described in his expensive suit and an air of entitlement I didnt quite now what to make of him. He got angry very quickly about Julia and what he perceived as a break in their trust in their relationship. Even with Jon trying to explain that Julia was being blackmailed and possibly in danger his biggest struggle was the break in trust. Now dont get me wrong he stated that he would take care of the problem but woo eee he was a bit scary..
WELL his behavior made sense a little later after he confronted Julie and she explained why she didnt want him involved. Once they made up the Dominant came out and took care of business in the bedroom. Now the story didnt end there. When things came to a head with the blackmailer Julie was no wilting flower she did what she needed to do make sure no harm came to her man.
Way to short, I could have read more about these two for ever. Good story.
Brief Hot Seals CSA Case files crosover. High ranking State Department official meets with Jon Rudnick, whom he knows from the service. Schulz' lady is in trouble from a blackmailed and as refused to tell him, so he hears it from Jon. Jon agrees to work on identifying the culprit, and Schulz is crushed that Julia hasn't confided in him. She is afraid to jeopardize his career and is willing to pay. Schulz is handling it for her and they need to work out their trust. First, however, there is a crisis to survive.
Kennedy Layne's Hot SEALs: A Mission of Love is an attention grabbing story. This well written book grabbed me at the first page and kept me reading straight through till the end. A Mission of Love has the twists and turns of a thriller, the sizzle of a romance and the action of a mystery. I look forward to reading more from this author. A Mission of Love is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I love stories that go beyond the main characters of a series - Schultz and Julia lead high profile lives in Washington D.C. - Julia us being blackmailed and goes to a friend to help instead of Schultz needless to say he finds out. You'll love this if you love VS A series by Kennedy Layne.
Kennedy Layne has an explicit talent to quickly draw you into a story and make you feel as if you are a part of it. Schultz and Julia make quick work of drawing you in. Absolutely love this Kindle Worlds crossover!! Look forward to reading others in this crossover world!
Loving these books. They all tie to GAPS, but each is a great story on it's own. I'm discovering new authors like this one and will need to be reading more of their work.
