Born into a world of privilege, Archie has never been happy with the rigor of life under his mother's control. So when he starts backpacking across Europe and comes across a sexy man, he knows he's on the cusp of love, of hope, of joy.
Nestled in Barcelona, Archie and Bernard spend their time enjoying their surroundings and their freedom. Warm days, warm nights, good company and smooth life, spending their time exploring their own bodies, and others'. All is right with the world.
Until the call that brings them back to Georgia, and a horrible truth.
Faced with the possibility of living destitute, from place to place, Archie and Bernard must make a will they be forced to separate, to give up their happiness, drawn to different goals and aims? Or will they grow together for it? Will social morals and standards win out, or will it be love?
And when they do decide, will they have the stubbornness to stick to their choices?
HOT and Poignant stories of betrayal The book includes two stories, the first is an M/M romance between Archie and Bernard who meet while backpacking across Europe until Bernard is called home unexpectedly. What follows is so unexpected. I like how Ms. Styles incorporated memories into the narrative by way of italicized lettering for differentiation. Cleverly done so that the reader sees what is now and what is remembered. The second story is about Evelyn who is married to Alan Goodman, “old money” and respected family. They marry after meeting in college to spite their parents. Evelyn is now a bored suburban housewife, wealthy but missing the love she expected from this marriage, while her husband cheats with anything in a skirt! What happens next is surprising and devious…loved it. This was a well-written, entertaining short book of two short stories which will have you making fist pumps at the end of each. In the Amazon blurb I don’t see anything mentioned about story #2 so not sure why mine has two???
The plots to the stories were good. They were both to short to really enjoy though. The BDSM is very mild almost not a factor in the first story..
The sex was ok in both books.
Really I've read much better gay romance. I prefer to get a story not just a quick outline of one. That's what these two books feel like to me.
I think it's nice that this Author includes the Free book but I wasn't expecting it so I was really hoping to get more of the first story and then it ends. :( and boom new book...not as good as the first book was going...lol
I don't really know that I would bother recommending this book unless you just want a quickie.
