OMG! I can’t wait for this book series to be over. I’ve already paid for it so I plan to finish. The two main characters are dry as toast, indecisive, quitters. If these two spent as much time working on their relationship as they did being passive aggressive toward one another over perceived offenses, they might actually be “couple goals.” They really don’t need to be together. Imani…tsk..tsk. How does one go from: standing beside a man who’s having a child with another woman, the woman dying in child birth, the child clearly not his, but he decides to raise it anyway. To, the man does something to protect the child and it hurts your feelings so you trash the entire relationship! Sorry honey children come before your hurt feelings. She deserves to be single. At least until she’s more mature.
'Just Friends' picked up from where 'More Than Friends' left off. In this 3.5-star long short story, Imani and Ian's relationship was clearly defined as a couple until another character came on the scene. Therefore, due to the characters' misunderstandings and actions, heartache ensued. In all of this though, the author's use of vivid details helped to create an upbeat tone. However, this narrative should have been edited a little better. In the end, the author foreshadowed a possible HEA for the two protagonists, but the reader will have to read two more installments to find out.
This is book 2 in the series. I was disappointed with book 1, but decided to read book 2 anyway. It was better, as Ian and Imani actually had a relationship this time. There was a lot of drama, including a baby and questions about paternity.
This couple hasn't learned a thing. They still lack the ability to communicate during tough times. It causes them once again to miss out on something special. The book ends with another cliffhanger.
I read a review about Ian and Imani not communicating, what book was she reading? They communicated very well to me. My anger was when she didn't understand why he didn't want her to go to the park with him. He had a bad feeling about it, but she wanted to go anyway. Why couldn't she trust him? I have no sympathy for her. Carmen was a good friend, so far. On to the next one!!!
I really enjoyed this story and the characters were really entertaining. The story line was very believable and the twists were worth the reading of this book. Loved the chemistry between Ian and Imani it was smoking hot 🔥! I recommend this book it is a good read!
