I WANT A MOVIE!
Seriously. This book (well, this series ) would make an amazing movie. Kind of weird actually...an Australian dude writes a book about the future and a Wisconsin teen wants it made into a movie.
ANYWAY.
Where to begin. Kyntax was amazing. So was Six. And Nai! AHHH. Talk about a cliff hanger.
Six of Hearts is a genetically altered super-teen. To get the full story, you'll want the first book in the series, The Lab
Unlike many stories, though, this sequel doesn't disapoint. Its action packed, filled with great one liners, and the characters? They are epic.
I'm not even sure where to begin. There is nothing unusually deep about this book...though Six's struggle of being 'human' after having been created in a test tube is very interesting, especially if you view it in the light of stem-cell research.
Its...well, its like reading an action packed movie. And its awesome. Maybe I'll think of something more brilliant to say later.

I highly recommend this book. Remote Control was filled with exhilarating fight scenes that seems so realistic. The plot was exciting and had an interesting twist at the end.
I love the character, Agent Six of Hearts, mostly because of his inner conflict and his brotherly relationship with Kyntak.
All in all, Remote Control was a book that I couldn't put down.

I liked this book very much. I thought it was a good book because it had action ad was unrealistic. There was adventure and skill. I like the fiction/adventure/action books. I think this book had a lot of fiction. It was unrealistic because it had things that would not happen in real life. It also had a lot of action because the main character is a spy so he went on missions.
The book is based on a teenage boy that created in a lab. The plot in this book begins where the main character is looking for his adopted, little sister. The main character and his brother go on a mission to trap a bad guy that might have his little sister. The bad guys end up over powering the main character and they capture his brother and hold him hostage. So the story is about the main character trying to rescue his brother. One time, near the end, Agent Six (main character) goes to recue his brother and he goes into the enemy's warzone to rescue his brother. He ends up capturing his bother but loses the bad guy. They are both still alive and thats what matters to them. They end up finding out that Agent six's little sister got abducted by the bad guys and she works for them. The brother and sister get along though. They make a small relationship when they start talking about he lost her.
It is hard to relate to this book because I am not a secret agent but I do have a little sister and I have lost her before. I did not lose her for more that five to ten minutes. It was pretty bad because we were in a mall and could not find her. We did end up hearing the store call us to the front desk where Beca was.

Bro, this is the best book I have read--to date. I love the characters so much. Everything is captivating: the setting, the story, the action...please read this book. I love that there isn't any romance. Romance always ruins books for me and makes me cringe--and to my delight, Heath left it out. The family relationships in this book make me so happy too. When i was reading it, I was going through some of the hardest years of my life (up to that point)--and seeing Six and Kyantak's brotherly nonsense always cheered me up. When I'm down, this series always envelops me in a far away world of futuristic adventures, and I forget my sadness. Thanks, Jack. This is definitely my favorite book.

Remote Control is an action-packed book that will have any thrill lover hooked. This book is filled with action and adventure on every page. It is very entertaining and hard to put down once you start reading. Remote Control will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the suspense and thrill Agent Six takes you through. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action-packed literature as James Bond and Jason Bourne.

It’s official. Since Agent Six of Hearts’ last mission, everyone knows exactly who or what he is—superhuman. Somehow Six is able to tolerate this unwanted attention, maybe because he gets to work with his brother Kyntak. But when Kyntak is kidnapped while on a mission and everyone at the Deck, especially the Queen of Spades, starts to think Six is a double agent, Six realizes that he must go solo if he’s to have any chance of survival and rescuing Kyntak. With an unknown and the most cunning adversary Six has yet faced, few available allies, and danger lurking around every corner, will Six be able to beat the odds and bring his brother back?
To no one’s surprise, Remote Control is just as fast paced as its prequel The Lab. Readers are immediately immersed in a sea of nonstop action that keeps things interesting. It is very difficult to write a satisfying sequel to a novel so heavily reliant on action plot because readers look for new and exciting action sequences as well as some character development, and unfortunately, the variety of different types of action for novels such as this one is limited and smooth characterization in the midst of all this is very rare. So although the plot of this story is certainly exciting and suspenseful, it’s not entirely original. As in The Lab, Heath attempts to develop Six’s character, but it still feels very awkward. Here there’s Six pondering humanity and what it means to be human—or superhuman—but at the same time, there are a bunch of people trying to kill him over there. Perhaps it’s because of how Six was initially portrayed, but it doesn’t seem like there is any natural way to make Six really be more, well, human. Remote Control isn’t a terrible sequel, but I will be looking for much more in any future installments, if any, in this series to come.
Fans of The Lab by Jack Heath will want to check out its sequel. Remote Control will also be enjoyed by fans of Skinned by Robin Wasserman and the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz.

Every author who wants to write series needs to read this. Remote Control sets up so well for the next book that when I closed the covers, I was tingling all over, the ending with the villain was that good. This novel also stands alone so well that I was surprised to find out it's got a prequel, The Lab.
Also, I've decided: I will never deprive myself of thrillers ever again. It's not just the pow-pow-boom action -- it's the cunning minds on both sides, the subterfuge and secrets, the plans within plans. Yet there's also plenty of rumination on Six's part as he questions his lifestyle, his relationship with his brother and his incapability of murdering.
The world-building is actually surprisingly competent. Remote Control is set in a world where the Americas' population are the last people on Earth, thanks to global warming having melted the ice caps. The "politics" (for lack of a better word) of companies like the ChaoSonic and the Deck in this half-ruined world are what make it so real; the Deck clicked together, working like well-oiled gears in a clock. It's the perfect secret company I've always wanted to read about.
Kyntak is as hilarious and witty as Six is cold and distanced, but both are clearly adept in the field, a good thing because a special agent who can solve/fight/stun/trick his way out of any situation is the only one worth rooting for. And the way they interact is just so brotherly:

Events like the one above are fairly commonplace for Agent Six in REMOTE CONTROL, the sequel to Jack Heath's THE LAB. It is filled with heart-stopping images just like it.
The world is still controlled by ChaoSonic, and Six is still struggling to survive as he battles evil without the use of deadly force. This time his identical twin is kidnapped by a new villain named Vanish. Vanish mistakenly believes he has kidnapped Six and is asking for a ransom - or the teen will be killed.
As Six begins the Mission to rescue his brother, he encounters a new individual, a mysterious girl. She keeps herself hidden but offers survival advice, which Six finds quite confusing but useful if he is able to unlock the cryptic clues. Adding difficulty to his mission is the fact that the Deck has been compromised, leaving Six completely on his own. With no one to trust, he must keep track of everyone and can't rely on anyone.

not bad...extremely fast paced (which is awesome, i really dislike slow-paced books). superhuman dudes with personalities most guys probably dream of having and most girls probably dream of dating...not bad not bad
so why did i only give this book a 3 star rating? i'm not really sure why but in terms of how much this book really sucked me in and in terms of how addictive the series really was...it kind of just suits a 3 star rating in that department.
the plot was good if totally unexpected and random like the first book and the characters were okay. i guess most of the reason why i only gave this book 3 star rating was cos i feel like its missing something. that extra special thing that 5 star books always have which totally sucks the reader in and just steals their heart away. anyway, i'm not sure whether i think it should more credible or something but there's just something missing about this book. i dunno. i can't explain it.
so anyway, if you're thinking of reading this book don't let my opinions effect your judgement cos these are just my opinion and there are probably heaps of other people who thought this book was the best. just not me. but who knows? maybe this book may end up being your fave book in the whole world or something. who knows?

I was pleasantly surprised to find Six once again in perilous danger and thrust into dark plans of intrigue and suspense. While I believe that there was very little character development outside of Six and maybe Kyntak, I found everyone quite enjoyable to read. The new villain is exactly what this series needed. The Moriarty to Six's Holmes and very much the ultimate urban spy enemy. I can't wait to read more.
Nai was freaking awesome. The ending was typical for her type of character but it was still satisfying to know that there might be hope for her. I personally would appreciate it if she turns into a grey character, an assassin for hire who helps the Deck when necessary.
The only thing that could make this better would be if Six got a girlfriend. He needs a character he can have a personal relationship with outside his brother and King. Because honestly King is a flat character and Kyntak bottoms out at being the cheerful but damaged one. I'm rooting for Ace of Diamonds to fill the spot, why else would she get introduced in this book?
The action was once again perfectly spot on in detail and coordination. I love reading this series!

I thought the book remote control by jack heath was a very good written and action packed book. I had a hard time putting it down. Every page keep me guessing and on the edge of my seat. I thought the author did a great job describing the fight sense and also the stunts. One stunt that I especially liked was when six (six of hearts is the main character) ran up a very high wall. Jack heath described what was going on and also what six was thinking as he was doing this stunt. I felt as if I was six for a minute. Jack heath also did a good job describing what six was thinking throughout the book. In the first book six like to stay by himself and not have any contact with other people and if he had to he would keep it to a minimal. In the second book however he realizes that other people mean something to him. He struggles with this realization and the author does a good job describing the struggle. Overall I thought this was a great book and I would recommend both of the books highly.

Jack Heath returns to the world he first created in The Lab to further the adventure of Agent Six of Hearts and The Deck. This time, it is a new power that has to be faced and defeated, with trust and confidence in short supply.
Upon reflection, what struck me was how fast paced the book is. One can really get a sense of the forward momentum of both the individual scenes/moments in the book and with the larger story. This is even so for times were things are racing along in a scene and one particular moment takes several pages without every feeling dragged – it is the way Heath crafts the action and momentum that drives things.
This is not a series in which to jump on from this book – start with The Lab and go from there. The end of this book has a nasty little kicker which made me go ‘oh, oh wow’ and deliciously sets up future books in the series. This is a very solid work from a good young author.

I'm not much a fan of action stories especially when it doesn't have much romance entitled to it either but this book did make an exception. It kept me thinking of what might happen next. Six, sadly enough, was thought to be a double agent and is a traitor of the Deck. To make matter's worse his brother just got kidnapped. How he managed to get through that did give me that same feeling as everyone would write their "superhero stories". It didn't make me feel much special but however I did like that Six's life was starting to make sense. His lost sister, finally found as his enemy. Whatever may come next does sound exciting and just like any book in a series it gives you that "what going to happen next?" feeling or "that's it?" kind of feeling. As for me it gave that excite to what may happen next for the next book series "The Lab"!

This book is about Agent six of hearts in the spy agency and is a superhuman or robot who acts like a human but is way smarter and has more strength and so when one of the prisoners escapes and he is sent to find him with his other superhuman brother they are ambushed and trapped and agent six of hearts is betrayed by his own agency or the deck and has to save his brother from the leader and has to make sure he doesn't get caught by the queen of spades. This book takes place in a world that has fallen to pollution and their city is surrounded by a great wall. I would recommend this book to people who like a little bit of death and a lot of action and mystery.

It has been several months since I read The Lab, but I got caught up fairly quickly. The plot was high-paced, the fight/action scenes pretty good, the looming threat of powerful enemies suspenseful. What I really liked about this book were the characters. Agent Six had a really good line somewhere - "He was going to leave for selfish reasons, but he stayed for even more selfish reasons." Or something to that effect. Kyntak was cool. The ending is one that makes you go, "Oh, [four-letter-word-of-choice here:]!" I'll look forwards to the next book.

I think this book is awesome and it kept me interested of the book from start to finish. Being full of action and vivid imagery, this book is compelling and impossible to let go of. Using an abundance of figurative language to describe the animated fighting scenes of the characters, the author, Jack Heath, creates the image of the scenes inside the reader's head and lets us feel the scene being played out as if it is in real life. Also having a great storyline, I would recommend it to other people who enjoy action-packed books, fantasy, or any genre other than romantic stories.

The book is nonstop action. Seriously. No one ever gets a break for sleep or food or bodily necessities. So I think it will probably appeal to boys who want their books action-packed. Because you couldn't possibly cram any more action into these 300+ pages.

Nice concepts, but characters fell short. There was far too much relentless action with no break for the reader, and as a result, characterisation suffered - so Heath crammed in some CHARACTER REALISATION CHUNKS~ into the last few chapters, instead of showing their development throughout.

The only complaint that I have is that there aren't many story breaks (I can't stop reading) and Six, who's supposed to be a genius, is not that smart. He makes a lot of mistakes when you think about it... I mean, careless much?

This series is okay, but it's way below most middle schoolers reading level. It's not very challenging. But, I like the characters and the unusual ways they escape situations.
