The story was a good second chance romance that took us on a ride. There was a little drama and some Street acts that I had no idea what that was about. Any way, it’s a good read.
I thought this was a decent second-chance romance. The story follows a divorced couple who have spent five years successfully co-parenting their son after their marriage fell apart. When their safety is compromised, she and their son temporarily move in with him, forcing them back into close proximity and giving them a chance to reevaluate what went wrong in their marriage and what they’d do differently this time around.
I liked watching them slowly work through the things that contributed to their divorce and seeing them recognize how much they’d both grown since then. Their relationship was sweet in a lot of ways, and I enjoyed the dates, emotional intimacy, and seeing them figure out whether they could rebuild what they’d lost. There’s also plenty happening outside of the romance, including strained family dynamics involving the family business and the family’s perception of their split.
That said, I did start getting a little bored around the halfway point. For a book under 200 pages, the pacing felt surprisingly slow at times, particularly because so much of the romance centered around them revisiting the same issues from their divorce and going back and forth about whether they should give their relationship another chance. There were also a lot of spiritual/religious elements throughout the story, particularly the characters’ prayers and reliance on their faith. Not that there was anything inherently wrong with it, I just don’t tend to connect with that in my romances, but I wanted to highlight for other readers that it was a significant part of the story. There were also a couple of storylines involving outside paramours that I felt weren’t fully fleshed out. I could see what the author was trying to accomplish with them, but I think they needed better execution.
Overall, this wasn’t a bad read at all. I liked the premise, and there were definitely moments of chemistry, tension, and emotional connection, but I never became fully invested in the story. It was just an okay read for me.
O'Shea and Moya were previously married but divorced when Moya got fed up with broken promises. O'Shea had deep regrets because it lost him his soulmate and the love of his life. Moya was still carrying the hurt from O'Shea not choosing their family over the street business his father had him in. A traumatic experience causes a forced proximity situation with them and their son. Once together under the same roof, their communication got better, and you could feel the love that they still had for each other getting stronger and stronger. You could also see the emotional growth they experienced while they were apart making it easier for them to reunite. I believe that they needed the time apart to grow so that when they came back together again, they could be better than ever. I loved little Ocean and what he brought to his parents reconciliation. The love and the drama in this second chance book had my attention from the very first page.
What do you do when you have to walk away from the one you love and break up your family.
Moya loved her husband, but his choices made her walk away for the betterment of her and her son Ocean.
O'shea longs for the love of his life to return but knows that after 5 years, it just may not happen. Convinced not to love again, he builds his business and be there for his son. Tragedy strikes will it bring them back together or solidify why Moya left and left any hopes of it returning.
This second chance romance deep dives into the life of O'shea and Moya Collier and gives us a vivid story of how love comes and goes and then returns.
I love a second chance love story! I’m glad that Moya came to her senses about her ex-husband O’Shea. She not only needed to let go the bitterness and hurt that she had against him for five years. Thankfully, Moya was able to forgive him and comprehend her part in the marriage ending as well. That was the only way she was going to heal properly and to be able to embrace loving O’Shea again. I was happy they got back together and it showed me what God can do when you let go control and let him do his thing.
O’Shea and Moya were able to get their second chance. The time apart was much needed for Shea and Moya to grow and reconnect on a deeper level because they were still very much in sync after years of being separated. Elise and Terrance were great friends for Shea and Moya to keep them leveled. Ocean was adorable. Really like the maturity from Jess and how Onyx and Wednesday were able to come around.
This was a good second chance romance ! Follows Moya who stood on business and left because she felt her and her son came second to her husband’s business !
After being forced to stay in the same house they quickly realized that time didn’t change how they felt for one another! I enjoyed seeing the couple work thru their issues so they could become a family again !
I enjoyed reading this short, relatable, entertaining and heart warming story. It is well written with good characters and character growth. I love second chance stories and really love Moya and O'Shea together. Thanks, Fallynn West, for another great story.
Finding your way back to the one you love! That was O'Shea and Moya! Thankfully they had family around to support them and one another, even when things look bleak! I loved the ending!
