Exodus Trilogy

Explorer: A Genesis companion novella

Rate this book
The war is over.
Aurora is at peace.
Now the Aurorans can begin building their new world, and explore its wonders.

In the far North of Verdi, the only continent where man has set foot, a small coastal town has grown. By the pier lies the Explorer, a ship designed to sail the high seas, almost ready to cast off.

Tina Hammer, a hero of the revolution, cannot wait to go. She says goodbye to a dying friend and leaves with a small crew. Nobody knows how long the journey will last, and Tina is content with that, tired as she is of war and strife.

But the journey on which she embarks will be her toughest challenge so far, and she will be tested to her limits. For the sea holds deadly secrets, deep beneath the waterline, and the North is an unforgiving place.

Explorer is a Genesis companion novella, by the author of the Exodus Trilogy.

Note: If you haven´t read the Exodus Trilogy, you should do so before reading Explorer.

Andreas Christensen is a Norwegian science fiction and fantasy author. His most recently published work is Frostfall, an epic fantasy.

His popular series the Exodus Trilogy received rave reviews in both the U.S. and the U.K. and has been compared to classics such as Heinlein and Asimov. The Rift Saga is set approximately two centuries after the events of Exodus, and a reviewer described it as "Hunger Games on steroids". In a good way...

He is currently working on new projects, including a "second generation" story set in the Aurora universe, in addition to the Legionnaire Series.

Andreas Christensen has a degree in Psychology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and his professional background is mainly from public service. He has a weakness for cats, coffee and up until recently, books so heavy he'd need a separate suitcase in order to carry them every time he traveled. Luckily, the world has changed, and the suitcase has now been replaced by an e-reader.

Don't stop now!

OMG! This book! The refugees from Earth who have settled on Aurora are finally at peace. Exploration of their new planet is next on the agenda. They discover something that changes the whole game with major ramifications for their future. I hope there will be more books in this series!

A good read

I enjoyed the exodus trilogy and wondered about the future of the Earth and the colony that settled on Arrora. The short story Alive and the Novella Explorer address this issue. I plan to continue this saga.

Couldn't put it down.

I loved the flow of the books and the character development. I highly recommend them. The only problem, I was tired at work because I couldn't put it down to go to bed.

Exploring this new world

Since reading the previous novels of Mr Christensen I was eager to continue the journey on Aurora. It was exciting reading . I gave it only three stars because it was to short and I wanted more. If you enjoy sci-fi start and you will be addicted just as I am.

I like it, a lot! You really need to read the Genesis trilogy before this as it's a continuation and there's a LOT of background behind it. But it can be read as a stand alone novella. My biggest complaint? It's way too short! Hopefully, Andreas was just putting out feelers to see how it would be accepted, but myself and others will be eagerly awaiting an expansion of this story.

Andreas Christensen has done it again! This short novella, a companion piece to Genesis, brings back some favorite characters. If you love sci fi, read his trilogy. I hope you like it as well as I did. Tina Hammer is my hero! Oh, and P.S. -- check out the gorgeous cover.

Great follow up

I loved this novella as a conclusion so we are now able to say goodbye to Kenneth, Maria, and Tina. Entertaining series. Getting ready to start 'The Rift' series!
