Are you ready for an adventure? Well, to be honest, Julia Thorton wasn’t ready either! When she finds herself kidnapped, Julia holds on for dear life as an unexpected journey turns her life upside down on a long, winding road of craziness. Julia and her partner in crime, Greyson Stone, set out into the unknown and discover more than either was prepared for… Haunted woods where scarecrows don’t care who they chase, mugshots from an unexpected arrest, a rocking Bleu Streak concert, flounder gigging with a toothless old man, and a night on the town with a zombie are just a few stops along the way of this wacky journey. Can Julia and Greyson make it to the end of the road trip in one piece? Here’s hoping you’ll find out soon.

Oh wow! I loved this novel! Recently, I have been working my way through T.I. Lowe's books, some of them are slow to start but they have all been worth the read. I think this one may be my favorite, followed by Lulu's cafe. Julia's Journey is the second book in the series and I would recommend reading these in order. I cannot wait for Book 3 coming out in early 2016!
One of the things I really enjoyed, was that in this novel, Lowe, switched back and forth between the two main characters points of view. I absolutely loved her leading man, Greyson Stone; she gave this man heart, respect and beauty on the inside, as well as on the outside.
Julia's Journey is so much more than a romance story, it is a life story. A story of discovery, healing, living, learning, transformation and love. I cannot say enough good things about this one. I made it to the last page and was so not ready to say goodbye.
Oh, how I love Julia, Savannah, and John Paul. JULIA'S JOURNEY is heart-wrenching and wonderful. I love the idea of taking an extended trip in an RV like Julia and Greyson do. It's oddly enough exactly what the doctor ordered, so to speak. I'm glad Julia sees that in time. I like the reality of a story like this and how Lowe deals with the characters' demons head-on. Avoidance takes place, but in the manner that Greyson finding something for the two of them to do rather than allowing Julia to focus on what is causing the tremors or her wanting, needing, a drink.
In spite of the fact that there is a lot of reality in Julia's story, there is also everything necessary for a good, unrealistic romance what with the gorgeous main characters, a couple who lives together but is able to withstand from anything physically inappropriate, and, of course, a happily ever after. Oh, and characters who often seem to intuitively know what the other needs.
There are certainly imperfections in both characters; that's a huge part of what the whole is about, but their very gorgeousness is enough to make me wish for some homely characters. :)
I love the characters Julia and Greyson meet on their journey as well as the actual journey itself. I especially love when Julia and Greyson see Savannah again after a long time! ;) Oh, how adorable is it that Savannah managed to become a woman of God and allow her husband to love her properly!!
Ok so at first I thought it started off slow. When it picked up it picked up and went full throttle. I had read book 1 a long time ago and book 3 is my absolute favorite. I finally gave in and read book 2 and I am so glad that I did. Julia is all about drama. Greyson has such a wicked sense of humor. He is a saint for dealing with Julia. The haunted campground was hilarious although I'm not a spook fan I still laughed. The scene in small world I will totally agree with Julia...purgatory. I loved the epilogue and the way the book was finished. Definitely recommend. Then rush on and get the next book in the series.
T.I. Lowe how do you keep doing it; spin a dark painful story into a gentle tale to savor?
We have both left each other the exact same Bible verse tonight. Psalm 17:8 - Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” And the way you’ve intertwined The Word throughout is such a blessing ~ keep weaving your magic!!! “but a true relationship with no labels with God is the most freeing and simplest relationship I have ever experienced.”
This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed it more than the first book. It focused more on recovery than on the abuse both girls experienced. The story is filled with engaging and likeable characters. The Christian aspects of the story blend well and are not overbearing. The ending delivers a pleasant surprise. I recommend this for readers who enjoy stories about overcoming the past along with a touching love story.
Wow, I feel like this book gave me incredible insight to things I never even knew existed in the modeling/cancer/sickness world. My heart would break with the characters as they went through the trials of a lifestyle that held them captive. Julia and Greysons relationship is such a testimony to Gods unconditional love for us, he never gives up or leaves us in the midst of our trials and troubles. And talk about a twist at the end, the ending is INCREDIBLE.
Excellent story. I did not like Julia in the first book or even the beginning of this book. The author crafted the character development skillfully, slowly and in a realistic manner. I enjoyed every adventure and the friends along the way. The author scared me and one point and I was ready to be mad at her (I'm sure that was her intent) but she made everything right.
When fashion model Greyson Stone decides to take a healing road trip, he didn't realize God intended his traveling companion to be the love of his life Julia Thornton. Julia is a high powered fashion model full of demons that have haunted her since childhood. This book is the sometime funny, sometimes poignant story of their travels.
Author P.I.Lowe writes with warmth and wit and honesty. This story was about a couple of models. One a Christian who had disappeared for a couple of years due to illness andJulia who had been raped and was addicted to alcohol and was anorexic. Wonderful story of God’s love and redemption along with a twist here and there. Another winner!
This series deals with really tough subjects. T. I. Lowe isn’t afraid to address the monsters in the room. Rape. Abuse. Neglect. Eating disorders. Cancer. PTSD. As the book came to a close, I nearly threw my book across the room with the direction I THOUGHT the ending was taking. Well played, Lowe. Well played.
The uniqueness of each persons journey is true. Yet we all are looking for our Creator who know us better than we know ourselves. Yet He always uses humanity in the journey very. This book is about that.
This story is a continuation from the first in the series. However, this does not have the darkness of the first. It was a joy watching Julia transform with the help of her bestfriend.
This book was absolutely wonderful in so many ways. The characters, the story of Julia’s journey and the ending could not have been more thoughtful. I loved how scriptures of the Bible were included in the storyline. A truly outstanding book!
I think this is the 7th or 8th book I’ve read, and they just get better and better. Please keep writing because I don't want to stop reading and enjoying your books.
Oh what a journey. I am thankful I have a strong heart for this book surely needs one when you read it. T.I. Lowe brings out so many emotions from frustration to laughter to sobbing. I always feel vested in their lives and her books become friends.
I'm going to keep this short but quick. I don't want to leave any spoilers! Suffice it to say, Ms Lowe has a very special way to write about very difficult subject matter. I am enjoying tremendously the inclusion of Christianity in her books and this one was the best so far. The quotes from the bible were spot on to the story and any reader would be able to identify with. There were areas of waterworks, and nice surprises and that's all I'll say about that so I don't say too much. Read this book. If you're looking for a light hearted story, this may not be it, but only because it is very deeply written in emotions. I want to make the same trip, visit the same places, and read the same passages in the bible. I loved it. Beautiful story. Ms Lowe, thank you for sharing with us. Guess it wasn't as short a review as I thought it would be, but no spoilers! Read this story. It's beautiful.
I liked this one. I do wish she would include therapy in the healing process. I also didn't feel like the mental struggle with ED was shown much. But it was a good story.
A couple of Christmases ago I got a freebie kindle book called A Bleu Streak Christmas, by T I Lowe. It was a Christmassy Christian romance about a wildly successful rock band who loved playing practical jokes on each other. It was warm and gentle and made me smile a lot. So I bought its prequel, Goodbyes and Second Chances, about the band's childhood and early years. And I loved that too. Since then I've read most of T I Lowe's other novels and they have all made me happy. I've been saving this one for a time when I needed some literary comfort food. Julia is a famous model with dark secrets in her past, who takes a road trip down the east coast of the US with her friend and fellow model Greyson. There's not a lot of conflict other than what has gone on before the book starts, it's a story of healing, in a landscape I was really glad to have a vicarious tour of, and as they pass through various places they also meet up with characters from other books, which had a nice coherent feel. Lots of warm and fuzzy :)
This is a great follow-up to Coming Home Again. I could definitely feel the different personalities of the sisters in these 2 books. It's a little less raw than the first book on Savannah but the author did a great job of telling the story through both Julia and Greyson. The ending really got me with that big twist. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series! GREAT author!
This book begins with Julia and Grayson saying goodbye to two different friends from the modeling world. It shows the truth of that world - anorexia, bulimia, alcohol, drugs and meaningless sex. Julia thinks she is justified in her addictions due to being raped.
Grayson is recovering from a terrible illness. As he is becoming stronger, he plans a road trip down the east coast. Finding Julia drunk and out of it, he decides to bring her along.
These two set out on a remarkable journey of not only discovering what the country has to offer, but discovering themselves, each other, many new friends, and most importantly, what God has in store for them. This book really touched my heart as I read about Julia's healing from the addictions she has put her body through and especially from the hell her life has become. As she grows closer to Grayson and to God she begins to understand that she is special and loved, and not just for her outside beauty.
I couldn't put the book down. I read it in one sitting. It's a very remarkable book and I will treasure it and in all likelihood will read it again and again. It's one of the few Christian novels I've read that gets really down to earth and tells it like it is. Awesome book and I'm sure the other books in the series are just as good.
This book is right up at the top as it is with all of T.I. Lowe's books! Julia and Greyson's adventures together are just so much fun, not to mention getting a little visit in with the crazy crew from Lulu's Cafe! Love Greyon's and Julia's interchanges and their writings in their journals. Watching Greyson quietly and steadfastly do everything he can to help Julia see her worth to him and to the One who loves her even more than he does is heart melting. As usual, T.I. Lowe excels at showing the power of God's redemption over our brokenness.
