Crystals are not just pretty to look at and delightful to hold, they also hold somewhat magical qualities, including the ability to promote healing and balance in the body and mind. But not just any old crystal will do. You need to know what crystals work on the particular problem or purpose you want them for.

Choosing the right crystal can be a confusing problem, with so many varieties available. Or perhaps rather than just having one or two crystals, you may want to create a crystal altar using several different types of crystals and stones. Do you know what a crystal altar is? There is a chapter in this book that will tell you all about it, including how to set it up and how to use it.

Did you know that crystals should be cleansed after every healing? This is an important factor when using crystals in this way, and failing to cleanse them could lead you to be less successful in your healing.

It is also important to know which crystals or stones work together with the different chakras. There is much to learn when considering using crystals for healing, but really it is not that difficult. This book can show you how to choose a crystal, what each crystal is useful for and how to use them.

Some of the chapters include: How to use healing crystals How to build a crystal altar Cleansing your crystals Specific crystals for certain conditions Crystal guide Different types of healing

I must admit, with no little amount of chagrin, that I have never considered the healing powers of various crystals. When offered this book to read and write a hopefully comprehensive review, I took some time to think about the matter and my conclusions tended toward skepticism.
With as much neutrality and open-mindedness one can muster on short notice, I read this book and must admit that I had no idea that so many crystals existed. I was impressed by their beauty (this book contains many colorful and impressive pictures of various crystals; both good and bad). I am particularly fond of the beautiful blue azurite and the impressively shaped pyrite and hematite. My logic, however, can’t accept most of the healing powers attributed to these stones. At the start of the book, scientific data was suggested to back these healing claims but none was provided. The possible benefits of these minerals were only suggested and the range of possible influence was practically without parameters. The thought occurred to me that by simply wearing a charm bracelet or necklace with all of these gems attached would make anyone continually happy, inspired, healthy, viral, and a peaceful sleeper, void of pain, stress, and anger. If this was true, the world would really be a better place.
I must admit that, for those that believe in the mystical powers of stones, it would possibly work as a placebo and relieve some complaints; if only temporarily. I did enjoy reading this book and the many illustrations found within. I was interested in the descriptions of both the good and bad crystals but in fell far short of making me a believer.
