As a vocal artist Shazza Duncan knows she owns the top spot in London’s EDM music industry, in every other aspect of her life she knows she is doomed to fail.
You would think some of her career success comes from her privileged upbringing and her very expensive private education, but you would be dead wrong. Her family have ridiculously high expectations and loathe Shazza’s career choices. Her only escape from their oppression is in the studio and clubs, feeding off the high energy of her DJ friends and clubbers. Her family and their constant disapproval leaves Shazza feeling unworthy and struggling to form relationships with anyone.
When DJ Adam Chapman signs a contract to work with Shaz he has no qualms about making it blatantly obvious he wants her and will stop at nothing to tame the crazy club lover and make her his own. But Shazza faces some of life’s hardest challenges and, as much as she wants him, she fears any relationship between them will suffer when the proverbial mic falls and everything goes to shit. I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Shazza was nothing more than a disappointment to her mother; she would never be the picture perfect daughter she wanted. When DJ Adam Chapman invades her life, Shazza finds herself fighting for a reason to give into the connection they share.
Shazza rocks my world, far from being a lady she has a mouth of pure sarcasm that leaves you in hysterics. Helen J. Barnes has written a story of self-discovery; this book is about Shazza finding her own feet in her career and proving to herself she is capable of love. Shazza's mother is a real nasty piece of work; I found myself wanting to slap her on more than one occasion, with this said as the story progresses Shazza's mother finally realises her mistakes with her daughter and we discover her life hasn't been a bed of roses. Adam is adorable; funny, loyal, talented, caring and seriously sexy! Adam has strength and determination about him; he doesn’t take no for an answer, he would do whatever it took for Shazza to give in to the passion and connection they shared. There is never a dull moment where Shazza and her friends are concerned and they always have each other’s back. Adam however has one friend you will want to trip up the moment you're introduced to him. This series totally rocks!
If you love romances with humour and suspense, you will absolutely love the DJ Series by Helen J. Barnes.
I recommend reading book #1 and #2 in the series before reading Crazy Perfection.
This is the third and last book in the DJ series much to my dismay. I thoroughly enjoyed this it was a little more emotional for me than the other 2 books it very nearly made my eyes water! Shaz is a vocalist for electronic dance music and a damn good one, infact one of the best! She works hard and sometimes party's harder, she is known for being crazzzzy! Her life is about to turn around when her flirting with Adam (DJ) goes further than flirting. I feel for Adam as he wants more and Shaz feels she can't give him the more he wants! This is a must read. I loved their journey and there was times I could've screamed at my kindle as I couldn't believe what was happening. I highly recommend this whole series! I loved it, Helen J Barnes now has a new fan!!
This third book in the series for the DJ's brings us Adam and another new DJ at Serious Soundz studio. With all the Royalty of the EDM DJ world and the Vocalist, Shazza, being good friends and hanging out a lot, we get to meet Adam. Adam is crushing on Shazza, who barely gives him the time of day. Due to her home life issues with her mother, she doesn't feel she is girlfriend material and stays away from relationships. Who is her mother? Who, more importantly, is her father? I was pleasantly surprised when I found that out. She has someone in her corner at least. Adam clearly wants a relationship with Shazza, but will he get it? How does the recording of her vocals on his track go? Does Adam make the charts for the first time? What happens when Tara and Dominic are getting married? Tara wants a sign from her parents, to know they are watching the day from Heaven. Does she get it? What happens with Shazza's father at her grandmother's birthday luncheon is epic. I love what happens with her and her father. Best father/daughter relationship ever! Shazza and Adam had worked on laying down a track together. What happens when the track goes live is incredible. Lots of fun to see the reactions of folks. Adam was supposed to be releasing it at Serious Soundz, but when their owner/manager goes off the rails about Adam's split agreement for Shazza to do the vocals for him, they move it over to Xtreem for the release. Clearly, Serious is not happy about that, but when it hits the air waves, they start talking about doing another track together. Be prepared to have tissues ready towards the end of this book! I really hope that with everything going on, there will be more DJ books coming. This has been a fun series to read, and because of it, I have found a liking of EDM music. I decided to turn it on for my drive to my parents for Thanksgiving and found that I like it. EDM is a far cry from what I would normally listen to, but it made some great background music to reading this book. I wish i had looked into it during book one.

Crazy Perfection by Helen J. Barnes IS perfection!! It a story full of excitement, laughs, struggles, and romance. But most importantly, it is one full of heart! This book is definitely a must read.
Shareen "Shazza" Duncan is one of the most well-known vocalists around London and a true party starter. She thrives off of the positive energy the club scene brings. Being brought up in a privileged family, you would never guess that money is not the way to get someone as good as Shazza to work with you. To be the best, you have to work with the best and know your worth.
Things couldn't get any better, besides the constant nagging she hears at home from Elizabeth. The disappointment her mother has for her is a constant ringing in the back of Shazza's mind. Why can't she be proud of her like her father? He is a legend in the music world and understands her. The night life in the music industry isn't always quite as glamorous as you would believe when you don't have the same luxuries in your home life. You can't allow the struggles with your family to interfere in any happiness you come across.
When Shazza starts getting close to Adam Chapman, a newbie DJ for Serious Soundz, her first instinct is to run because of her fear of demolishing the relationship. She tries to fight her obvious attraction to him but it's getting tough. Because of her mother's disapproval engraved in her mind, Shazza is afraid that she really is a failure and is not capable of keeping Adam happy so she runs. But he is reluctant in letting go!
Will Adam eventually give up on Shazza or will they achieve that Crazy Perfection together? Will Shaz let her mother get to her so much that it will stop her from ever being truly happy? I highly recommend you read to find out because my words certainly do not give this story the justice it deserves.
Crazy Perfection is not the first of Helen J. Barnes' novels for me and it will definitely not be the last! After picking up this book, it literally seemed impossible to put it down and I cannot stress enough how amazing the whole DJ series is!
WOW OH WOW! WHERE DO I EVEN START WITH THIS REVIEW??
I fell in love with the series from the start and as I have read each book, I have come to love the books just a little bit more then the last one. This one was amazing. We have seen Shazza in the last book. She is Tara's best friend. She is one of the best vocalists in the EDM music industry. But her family don't agree with her career, so she escapes from them with her DJ family, in the clubs and studios. Adam a new and upcoming DJ wants Shazza, but not just to work with her on a track, he wants all of Shazza, he wants to make her his. Shazza is worried she can't cope with another responsibility of having a relationship onto of everything else going on. Can they make Crazy Perfection together? I was very eager to jump into this book, I love the last 2 in the series. Shazza is funny as hell, and I was really excited to find out she got her own story. I think this book is the best of the DJ series. I was just all consumed by this book. Shazza is a very relate-able character, and I felt like she was my best friend. Adam, I was a bit unsure of him when I starting reading. He seemed a bit of a goof ball but as the story goes on, you see his feelings for Shazza and how sweet he can be. I was expecting this book to be "they want each other, they can't have each other, then they get together" but it wasn't that easy. The author through a curve-ball in their that I just didn't see coming. I was sitting here in tears, I had to keep wiping my eyes or stop reading because I just couldn't see the words. I felt like the stuff that was happening to Shazza was happening to me too. I was happy with her, sad, angry, upset, happy etc. I love the whole DJ theme. At first I was like "it's going to be like a rockstar book but a DJ instead" but these books are so much more. I could picture myself being the DJ or being in the crowd and feeling what they feel. AMAZING IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS SERIES, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??
Reviewing on behalf of Relentless book chic’s ramblings and reviews
This is the third and final book of the series, Shazza’s story. As a top vocal artist in London’s EDM music industry, Shazza couldn’t be happier with her career but all other aspects of her life are a disaster.
Her father is supportive but her mother’s constant disapproval of her career choice and lack of affection has made it hard for her to develop meaningful relationships with anyone, except Tara so before anyone has a chance to get close, she pushes them away.
Shazza is the life and soul of every party and part of the fun of the clubbing scene is harmless flirting and hooking up with random men, life’s too short for anything serious.
Adam is quite new to the London club scene but he knows what he wants and that is to work with the infamous Shazza and hopefully get one of his tracks to #1 with her amazing vocals. After their months of flirting, he makes it clear to her that he wants her in other ways but with the demons of her past, Shazza finds it difficult to let him get close as she’s certain that any kind of relationship she’d try to have would be doomed from the start.
Adam is really sweet and manages to break through the defences Shazza has put up and she decides to give a relationship a try. Just as things are starting to go well, Adam is called away on a family emergency and Shazza has to travel to Ibiza with the other DJ’s alone.
When Adam does arrive, it doesn’t go well and some people put ideas in his head that make him think Shazza hasn’t altered her partying lifestyle and he gives her a very chilly welcome which leads to an explosive argument.
While she is alone in their hotel room, Shazza gets a phone call that shatters her world and she flies back to the UK alone. Will she ever be reunited with Adam and can she survive losing the one person in her life that’s always loved her? You’ll have to read the book to find out. I really enjoyed this book, it was great to be reunited with the characters from the first 2 books and it was a great story to end the series with.
I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

I recommend reading book #1 and #2 in the series before reading Crazy Perfection.
Every time I finish a book by this author, I say this is my favorite. Crazy Perfection is no exception to this tradition, as I LOVED LOVED LOVED it!
Shazza Duncan is the number 1 vocalist in London's EDM music industry. In her personal life, she feels like she will always fail. Her family has high expectations for her that have messed with her head. The only escape available from the negativity and nagging is the studio and clubs. DJ Adam Chapman wants Shaz to be his. When he signs a contract to work with her, he makes it known that he wants her and will stop at nothing to have her. Shaz wants to keep him as a friend, as she's afraid any relationship with them will suffer because of her.
This author's female characters are to die for! I have a girl crush on all of them. Did I want to choke Shaz out for a brief minute, yes, and yet I felt her fear and strong emotions physically. The character development is spot on, and they are super realistic people that I want for my friends. Another well written, fast paced storyline that flows perfectly. I'm in awe at Helen J. Barnes originality with words, as each book has new ones that make me laugh. Character chemistry is tangible, with new SMOKIN hot flash worthy sexy scenes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this authors writing style, and I will be stalking her to see when she has new books out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Helen J. Barnes, DJ Series, and Crazy Perfection!
Wow what an amazing conclusion to this series! I have loved this series and this book was a great conclusion to it. This is a must read series!!
There were times when I wanted to smack Shazza at times, but I understand why she is so hesitant to start anything with Adam. She is successful at being a vocal artist and a party girl. She puts on a confident, happy front to people but she is anything but. Her mother thinks she's a disappointment and it starts to wear on her and she starts to think she is a failure. Adam has his work cut out for him with Shazza as she is about to go down a road of self discovery and realizing she isn't a disappointment and failure. Adam has to be a really patient man because she is a runner and isn't so scared to go into a relationship because she doesn't believe it will last, that he will see who she truly is. But he does see HER the real HER she just needs to learn who that person is and forget about what others think. She will learn some things in here that may help her but is it too late? Has the damage caused too much irreparable damage?
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
wow.. can this series get any hotter... Helen J Barnes has really hit it with this DJ series.
Shaz was born with a sliverspoon in her mouth. With her father being one of the best DJ's in his prime and her mother family being wealthy. You would think Shaz is a prissy diva but she's not, she is actually the complete opposite... Badass Goth chic who is the most sought out vocalist to the Uk's hottest DJ's. Shaz is a balls to the walls kinda girl who oozes confidence like no other. But underneath all of that is a girl who has insecurities and doubts herself Worth because she feels like she is not good enough, if her mother and grandmother can not accept her for who she is who can?
Adam is Serious Soundz newest up and coming DJ. Adam and Shaz keep on playing this cat and mouse game while Adam wants more but all she can give him is friendship. Adam soon gets tired of the push and pull that he gives Shaz and ultimatum all in or all out. What will Shaz do will she go balls to the walls with Adam or will she let Adam walk away???
This is my favorite book out of the series...
received a Arc on behalf of The Sisterhood of The Travelling Book Blog.
Crazy Perfection by Helen J Barnes –is the third story in the DJ Series.
In the beginning of the story you have the main character, Shazza Duncan, who you think is a bratty, rich party girl who works as a vocal artist who signs vocals for Electronic Dance Music. All DJ’s and music producers want Shazza to work on their music tracks. Shazza is picky about who she works with like Tara Powers (DJ Dis-Diva) and Lucy Hart, these two also happen to be her best friends. Shazza loves to party, drink and have a good time. But the more you get into the story you find out that her home life is not all a bed of roses. Then Shazza goes through a sadness that makes you cry right along with Shazza. But thankfully Shazza meets Adam who is a DJ, who stands by Shazza through her ups and downs.

I absolutely love the DJ series, and the conclusion to them all, certainly didn't disappoint. Crazy Perfection centres around the sassy, feisty Shazza, and the wicked but loveable, Adam. As always, this fab author delivers with her relatable and cool characters. She manages to pack everything you would ever need into a wonderful read... Fun... Wit... Laughs... Love... Drama... Sex. Very well written, and I loved how all of the previous characters from the entire DJ series were once again, included in this final book. I'll miss Dayton, Dom and gang, and of course, Shaz and Adam. I'll miss them all. I'll always be part of the Xtreem Team!! A well deserved, rip roaring, deck spinning, 5 stars from me!
I've enjoyed every book Helen has written but I do believe that this one is my favorite of them all. Shaz and Adam are like peas and carrots. They just go together. Shaz hads some issues that cause her to doubt relationships. Adam won't stop fighting for Shaz. They go back and firth till they can't fight their feelings any longer.
The a story flows well and the side characters are written so well you feel as though you are part of the group. As always Helen has written a seat and fun read. Highly recommended.
Helen J Barnes is one of my favourite authors! She has a style of writing that totally hits you dead centre, if its funny its side splittingly funny and if its sad you will ugly cry all over the place! Even after finishing parts of this book I still felt as though I had suffered a loss personally, a loss of a character, a sympathy for a fictional person who is going through make believe sh*t - Isn't that was superb writing is all about?
I started Crazy Perfection after reading The Final Note and Disrespectful Diva - I would highly recommend reading in that order although each book is designed to be stand alone - Like a tube of Pringles once you pop you just cant stop and that is very true about this DJ series, why start off in the wrong order when you can meet them for the first time and discover their stories as you go along.
The main character in Crazy Perfection is Shareen aka Shazza - a spunky, loudmouth who is assertive and strong in what she wants to do with her life even though her mother disagrees. Shazza is signed up to her God Father's record label and has a string of success as a vocal artist, I really enjoyed how brash and upfront this girl was but you know that deep down she wants to be loved and accepted by her mother. Shazza is the apple of her fathers eye and he is fully supportive of her career, he wants only the best for her.
After meeting a DJ called Adam who wants her to work on his track Shazza realises that she likes the guy but feels she is too emotionally damaged to make a relationship work, she starts to keep him at arms length and he takes no notice.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the characters from the other books coming in and seeing where they are at and what has changed for them. I had many a moment where I was reaching for the tissues and like a book-sadist I continued on and cried loads more, especially in the scene where Shazza supports Tara and then vice a versa! And that poxy Elle Goulding song just does me in EVERY time!!!!!
This is a ABSOLUTELY SUPERB third book in this series and I Highly recommend it, for being such a superb read!
Another fabulous read by Helen!! This series I swear once again I cannot get enough. Please grab some tissues or this one you will need them.
Shazza has sarcasm rolling in spades and will have you dying of laughter through this entire book. But her story isnt all sunshine and roses. Her mother is a piece of work that is for sure. Shazza has never thought she was good enough, that she was a disappointment to her mother. There were times I wanted to strangle her mother but as the story continues her mother FINALLY realizes her errors and we get to learn a little about why she is the way she is. When Shazza starts getting close to Adam her first instinct is to run the other direction. With her mothers disapproval always in the back of her mind she thinks she will ruin any kind of relationship with Adam. Adam that man hmm. hes sexy, charming, talented... i could go on for days describing him... *swoon* LOL. He wants Shazza to realize that there is no where else he would rather be than with her. But can Adam convince her or will he eventually give up? Will Shazza ever get over all the hateful things her mother has always spat at her and be able to be happy or will her mother take that from her?
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AS WELL AS THIS SERIES!! THEY ARE AMAZING. CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HELEN HAS IN STORE FOR UPCOMING BOOKS!!
In Disrespectiving Diva, I wasn't too sold on Shazza. Something didn't sit right. Well, that's definitely changed now. I totally understand her better and I love her character.
This book, just like DD, was a great, refreshing read. I laughed, swooned, and even got a little teary eyed. I'm looking forward to reading more from Miss Barnes!
