Nico St. Johns knows I fantasize about being chased by a masked stranger—and has the nerve to offer to make it happen. I’m furious he knows. I’m even angrier that I want to say yes. Avoiding him was hard enough when we were arguing over how to save the campus theater. Then my mom marries his dad, and suddenly we’re sharing a house. Mom’s worried we’re not getting along. I’m trying to stop imagining his hands on me. My mother finally has the happiness she deserves. I won’t risk it for Nico, no matter how badly I want him. But at the Halloween masquerade, he arrives dressed as the man from my diary, right down to the leather gloves and rope. His offer is one night as strangers. Everything I’ve wanted, with the one man I’m supposed to keep at a distance. Tomorrow, I’ll have to face him across the breakfast table with our parents. Tonight, he’s giving me fifteen seconds to run—and I want him to catch me.
STEP SINNERS is a very spicy Halloween romance featuring enemies-to-lovers tension, forced proximity, and a possessive stepbrother who knows the heroine’s most secret fantasies.
I was honored to be able to read this ARC. This was such a cute, funny, and spicy stepbrother romance. It’s a fast paced but slow burn with lots of banter and giving into fantasies with a splash of Halloween!
I don’t feel this lived up to the ‘spicy novella’ expectation. Couple of spice scenes but it was mainly around their work which I found confusing. I didn’t understand their jobs/study which made me want to skip parts. Maybe that was just me though. More of a love novella and one Halloween party doesn’t really hit the mark of a Halloween themed novella either. Cute novella overall but just didn’t hit the mark.
