Nikolai also known as lone wolf is an mafia enforcer and Daisy was hired to protect him. Imagine the his disbelief for the same as he is one of the most dangerous man in mafia world. Their connection and chemistry is instant as are the danger revolving him.
I loved how hero and heroine was both strong and a match for each other. Neither of them were shown lesser than other in capabilities or in strength. They set pages on fire. I had some minor problems with hero’s ‘pushing away for heroine’s own good’ but here it was believable. And he made up for it later.
Secondary characters were also good. Their loyalty and friendship was commendable.
No ow drama and heroine was a virgin.
Recommended.

Good entry into this series. Nikolai is head of security to the top man in the Russian underground world in London.When someone is out to kill him,he has a bodyguard assigned to him,but not any bodyguard,a female one at that.
Let's just say that when these two meet,the sexual tension positively sizzled off the pages.There was a scene in the balcony of the nightclub where he works that was a scorcher....when a man says to you to .....remove your panties.....well,totally hot!!!
This is not the Carole Mortimer that I remember from her HP's.I hope that books for Jonas and Seth are planned cause I sure want to read theirs!

Bodyguard for the Head of Security
Nikolai Volkov likes to operate alone and be responsible for other people's security. Not everyone but just this one family he owes so much and more than that like so much. He won't think twice before laying down his life in saving them. But this family does not want that though because Nikolai is a dear friend and the man's life is under threat. Thus a bodyguard is hired.
Daisy Redmond is the bodyguard hired to keep Nikolai safe. Not exactly a hard feat for the woman till the time he did not know that he was being shadowed. But of course, since the time she made her presence known it is difficult for his male ego to be safeguarded by a woman.
They pretend to be a couple so that she can remain by his side day and night without raised eyebrows or any suspicions brewing.
The troubling thing for them is the high flying attraction between them. Something both of them do not want to give in to but are helpless in the face of such a strong connection between them.
This story is how you learn to never judge a book by its cover because there are so many layers to everyone that they are not ready to peel for just anyone out there. One needs to be there for the special someone to learn to trust them and accept them with the faults they have. Because at the end of the day, human beings are not perfect individually but once you accept someone as they are, they become perfect for you.
I enjoyed the story.

Hot. Suspenseful. Riveting. Romantically intriguing. Dramatic. And marvellously good, WARRIOR ALPHA by Carole Mortimer will blow you away. Nikolai is not your typical bad boy. Head of security for a top man in the Russian underworld, he plays with danger as if it were some innocent act of chivalry but he knows too well that when you play with fire, you get burn. Someone is out to take him out for good, so it is only wise for him to hire a personal security detail. However the last person he'd want to ensure his safety is a woman bodyguard! Daisy is no wallflower. She is a kickass lady who knows how to do her job and do it well at that. But when it comes to working with sexy Nikolai, a raging fire ignites within her veins and the sizzling attraction between her and her boss only adds fuel to this fire!

A lone wolf still needs a mate. A female warrior still needs love and tenderness. Together, when not fighting against the pull towards each other, found the happiness they yearned for and deserved. Overall quality of writing was really good. The intense and hot intimacy scenes were better than the others in the series. No cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ever after. :) Enjoy!

This is other great story!

The Lone Wolf Finds His Mate
FINAL DECISION: The story of a strong lonely man who finds the woman who is perfect for him, WARRIOR ALPHA has action, some angst, sexy scenes and a satisfying romance. A very likeable romance that I especially liked because it continues the stories of the ALPHA men and women.
THE STORY: NIkolai Volkov is a lone wolf. He had a childhood in Moscow from which he barely survived. He is now the head of security for the Markovic family in London. When threats arrive directed at him, his boss and friend hires Grayson Security to protect Nikolai. Nikolai doesn't want to be protected especially by his new bodyguard Daisy Redmond. Daisy is ex-military and has the skills to protect Nikolai but her cover as his new lover threatens her own peace of mind as she wants to do more than merely protect the sexy Nikolai.
OPINION: I really liked the connection between Nikolai and Daisy. Their fights are sexy and these two circling one another has good drama. Also, the story of the attempts on Nikolai's life works well here and doesn't overwhelm the romance but rather adds tension and suspense. Daisy is a capable woman and I enjoyed the battle between her and Nikolai over who will be in charge. Their fights and tension also made their scenes together sexy and fraught with sexual tension. I also really enjoyed the appearances by other characters from the ALPHA series. The overlapping connections between the characters demonstrate how much these ALPHA men have changed through the series.
WORTH MENTIONING: This book is one of my favorite of the series.

Nicolai Volkov, a featured player in Carole Mortimer's previous Alpha novels, is alpha-male hero in this sixth installment. Having read the previous novels, I find this one doesn't reach the heights of suspense or romance attained in her previous work. Yes, Nicolai is as aloof, commanding, and dangerous as he is handsome and sexy. Yes, Daisy Redmond, his Grayson Security bodyguard is his match in physical skills, intelligence, and sex appeal. I just find our hero's refusal to see the attraction in front of him a little too obtuse. Any man that clueless needs a 2x4 upside the head! Not only that - the plot in this one gets short shrift. Why, exactly, Nicolai is in danger, and the means by which he is extricated, is given such minimal attention that it contributes nothing to the story, leaving the whole novel to hang on the frayed rope of Daisy and Nicolai's mutually misunderstood relationship. Overall, this novel compares favorably indeed to much of the drivel on the romance market, but it isn't up to the author's previous high standards. Good enough, just not great.

This is Nikolai's story. He is the head of security for Gregori. He has had a tough life and meets Daisy who is his bodyguard! Of course sparks fly and we see the two of them develop into something special with a lot of bumps in the road.

A continuing series by Carole Mortimer but can be read alone, however you will want to go back and read the others because you will be hooked on the series. Nikolai Volkov known as the lone wolf but not really alone as someone is trying to find him is head of security and employed by Grayson Security. He meets Daisy Redmond who is also employed by Grayson security and has overprotective brothers so she spent 5 years in the army. When they realize Nikolai is being hunted they plan a trip to New York where she pretends to be his lover. She falls in love with him and he is not about to settle down, so besides protecting him she falls in love with him

"Warrior Alpha (Alpha 6)" by Carole Mortimer is the continuation in the Alpha series. It's probably my favorite book of the series. You don't necessarily have to read books 1-5 in order to follow along with this story, but I love series books and I highly recommend them. This book is Nikolai Volkov, lone wolf, and Daisy Redmond, hired as Nikolai's bodyguard. Great suspense, and romance.
