Repetition galore. Even worse than the first book = 2 stars

I started this hoping that the author's writing would have improved and that this would be a tighter story. in some ways it was. There was less exposition although still far too much. The story had a better plot up until about 3/4 of the way through. But the repetition was overwhelming. Things we knew were repeated often. That is simply bad editing or a desire for increased word count. If you got rid of all of it I am convinced at least 20% of the book would be gone. There really is no excuse for that kind of sloppiness. And once again we have an epilogue that is in reality just a final chapter. It takes place only a few days after the previous chapter and is filled with retelling events from the that chapter as if we had not just finished it. It was dreadful.

In the first book Nick and Kate come across as slightly odd people who manage to fit together in a somewhat old fashioned way. Him and her dad sit at the table while the women bring out the food. She tries to keep from angering him. That sort of thing. But it is way worse in this book. Nick is simply an ass and she spends a great deal of time managing his moods. Which is central to the main plot but I prefer to actually like my main characters. While I admired that she wasn't after him for his money in the first book in this one she is being perverse. She keeps her money separate (good girl) but refuses to take her salary from him for the months of work she does for him. I wanted to smack some sense into her. When she needs some space from him she simply leaves without telling him. very childish. She is supposed to be nearly 40 and he is nearly 50. They both act like kids. And once again we have Phillip acting in ways that make zero sense.

The author also has clearly very little grasp of some things. For instance she lists Nicks earnings at 25 Billion USD. That is an outrageous sum. Bill gates earned 11.5B last year. The entire net worth of even the most famous rocker is less than 1B. She describes the band as staying at super upscale places like Claridges and such and yet describe amenities like you get at a family hotel chain like holiday inn express. (and I like HIex) bad phone reception and making long distance calls on wifi that you have to go to the lobby for? Then the whole thing with Kate going to do her laundry at the hotel. Oddly enough the better the hotel the less likely it is to have a washing machines for guest use. If you are paying for a whole floor the hotel will do your laundry for you. The whole thing was simply meh. only real upside was it was short.

2 books by this author was enough. I would need a rave review from someone I trust to put myself through it again.

Great story

Finally Philip got what was coming to him! I'm so glad Nick and Kate worked out the problems with the tabloids and their families and got back to being a strong couple!

Surprised

This book was a welcome surprise. An older rocker with control issues. It was nice not to have the same old story. Nick already married to his love. I really enjoyed it all.

The beginning of this book opens with a bang! No,not that kind of bang ;) But we see Nick's exceptionally overprotective side when Kate is recovering from a car accident. It's a intense few chapters which sets the tone for book 2. I thought it couldn't get more intense than book 1 but I was wrong. It's okay I can admit it haha.

The transition of time moves very fluidly between book 1 and 2. In book 2 Nick and Kate have been married for 5 years and their relationship shows no sign of slowing down, they are still finding out new quirks with each other for example Nick's clingy watching over her kind of thing. Not to say it's a bad quirk but it's just one of those things that could drive you crazy.

Despite being 50 Nick still has the charismatic charm that makes fans young and old want to go to his shows, and once again Nick and Kate on the road touring is a big focus of this book. We see things from Nick and Kate's point of view in a lot of moments for example their reactions and what they remember of Kate's accident and the aftermath of it.
We also get a little more of Nick's backstory on how he got started in the music business and some of his early shenigans that caused him to now make sure he rents out then entire floor of whatever hotel he is staying in.

Gradually the cost of fame takes its toll and its a blow to Nick and Kate's relationship and the latter half of the book is them trying to figure out how to come back from that and find out who was behind tipping off the press.
That leads to an intense showdown and one incredible ending!

This is the second book in the 'Time for Love' and follows on five years later with Nick and Kate very much in love. They are getting ready to take the band on tour for most of the year when an accident almost derails it. Nick being the control freak he is and Kate being stubborn leads to tension, but the tour goes ahead with minor adjustments.
Nick's resolve is tested in many ways during the tour, leading to friction between Nick and his drummer Trevor and things escalate dramatically.

Without giving anything away in this story, it is about Nick learning to accept that he needs to loosen his control and talk to the love of his life 'Kate' about issues that bother him. It is also about Kate not running away. Again a story about betrayal, love, hatred and death.

This is a great read and would recommend it to everyone. It can be read alone but reading 'Real Time' first will make it all the more enjoyable. Prime Time

Welcome back Nick and Kate.

This is the second book in the Time For Love Series by Jeanine Binder and it is just as captivating as the first one, Real Time.
It is now five years on and Nick and Kate are happily married. Nick is about to start another long tour with Kate and his band.
Just prior to setting out Kate is involved in an accident, which almost changes everything - but the tour goes on as planned.
Things don't flow so smoothly this time around though. The paparazzi are everywhere, chasing a major story that doesn't exist.
There is a lot of tension this time around when the band's drummer Trevor asks for his girlfriend to join the tour.
Nick is also having a lot of trouble communicating with Kate - which leads to Kate making a major decision about her life.

Once again Jeanine has her reader experiencing different events from love, betrayal, hate and death.
An exceptional story from an exceptional writer.
Definitely another 5***** read.
Jeanine Binder has become another go-to author for me.

Review on behalf of 2 girls who love books blog!

Wow this one started off with a bang. I freaking loved this book. Kate was in an accident. Nick becomes overly protective of Kate after said accident. While Kate is recovering just fine, Nick has issues understanding that she is fine..He takes it all to heart and starts becoming stand offish and silent with her. This bothers Kate and she does everything that she can to prove she is fine.
Their marriage starts to struggle..

Some things happen while on tour that brings trouble to the band. A band member invite his girlfriend along that starts drama. And a band member loses a family member. This drama comes in between Kate and Nick.
Kate leaves and returns to Los Angeles.
Nick is beside himself because he let's his anger and frustrations take over his decisions.

I really enjoyed Kate in this book..She stands up for herself and stands firm against her husband..But Nick can't stand being without her. He finds her and expresses his love.

wonderful book. I really enjoyed this book and series.

5 stars!!!!!

Prime Time

I was given an ARC of Prime Time in exchange for an honest review.
4* book Prime time by Jeanine Binder is out now and available on kindle unlimited for a real bargain.

This is the second book in the Time for Love series following megarock star Nick Marshall and session keyboardist Kate Thomas and their romance. This book isn't a standalone and I recommend downloading real time before starting this book. These books aren't standard rockstar romances full of sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll they are about surviving fame and not letting the lifestyle ruin your romance.

These books are more than a romance it's about Nick and Kate's relationship and how they are coping with love in the spotlight. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.

Prime Time, book two in the Time For Love Series continues the love story of Kate and Nick. The way the story begins and the change in timeline was a little confusing, maybe a “5 years later” at the beginning of the chapter would have been a good idea. There was too much time spent describing unnecessary detail, it took away from the plot, and it was distracting. More focus on the relationship between Kate and Nick would have been nice. They spend a lot of time apart, and I was frustrated as to the reason why. I won’t go into details because I wouldn’t want to spoil the story. The character development stronger in this book than in book one.

There is so much true to life in this second book of the Time for Love series. Paparazzi all over the place trying to get the next big story even if they have to make it up. Tragedy comes in many different packages and life gets rough. Nick and Kate have been through a lot in the short time that they have been together and endured until one incident brings things crashing down. The ending is a shocker and was definitely not what I was expecting. Jeanine Binder did an amazing job bringing this to real life and keeping it real.

I received this for an honest review.

What a great story. There is no messing about with long winded narratives and there is more dialogue within the characters which I love.
Again I loved the strong and mature characters in this book and the story based on love, hatred and family betrayal is a recipe for a great book!
