What a brilliant series!!, these brave women and the men brought to protect them. Loads of drama, loads of tension, loads of the steamy stuff but ultimately loads of heart. I need to know more though we still have Bomber, Gabbie, Lola, Drew and Larz's stories to be told. But thankfully the teaser at the end means Lola is next!, yay!!
Wow ❣️ Ok first thing: this storyline, the series really is not for the reader that gets triggered by words. Ms Dallas has created storylines that tell the trauma of abuse (all kinds) and so far I've read book 6... Then 1,2&3, although in some ways reading 6 first hasn't had any negative impact, it's best to read in order.
Book 1 - Saving Ella Book 2 - Fighting Back Book 3 - Tortured Soul Book 4 - Mother's Love Book 5 - Losing Lola Book 6 - Letting Go
So I'm going to post each review as I finish.
Book 1: Saving Ella
To me it's a little weird saying that I loved Ella's story, since she's had a horrendous life. I'm wracking my brain to explain, I hate that there are women and girls (if you watch the internet news not main stream media you'll know women and girls are even more vulnerable nowadays and it really makes me worried for the future of my granddaughter's)
So I will start by breaking it down. I love that Kirsty Dallas has written this storyline without making it sensationalized.
Abuse such as described in Saving Ella is unfortunately a common occurrence. And women's shelters such as Mercy runs are never empty.
Ms Dallas has created her characters to be believable. Not everyone survives 😞. The men are not superheroes, they have faults, but do not give up, they're determined to keep their women safe.
The whole story creates a wonderful journey of determination, of two tortured souls finding solace in each other, of learning to trust and open yourself to love and to fight for each other. As well as the smaller back stories which around out the overall theme of the shelter where the story is mainly based in.
I'm reading Book 2 now and it's just as good 😊.
Book 2: Fighting Back.
Although Rebecca gets a slightly hea, her happy won't be totally there until her sister is ok and that is book 3.
Onto Rebecca story, she was a favorite character from Ella's book. The right amount of sassy and smarts. With a fashion wardrobe I'm jealous of ( but unfortunately wearing her clothes wouldn't work in my lifestyle I've not got room in my caravan). At the end of Ella's story we know that Rebecca and Charlie have a past, and that both are too stubborn to get past the mistakes made. Rebecca's life is turned upside down when an intruder break's into her home and almost rapes her. But she fought back, the attacker is scared off, but Rebecca is left dealing with the multitude of injuries and trauma from the incident. When Charlie is called by Mercy to come secure Rebecca's house, it's a Wake up call for him. Their journey towards a relationship, begins, with both Charlie and Rebecca learning to deal with the trauma and the news that Rebecca's sister has a part time to play in the situation.
Rebecca's life has been one of loss, she's had to rely on herself for most of her adult life, but she soon finds that she has a tight-knit family in Claymont who will put their lives in danger to help keep her safe.
I'm really enjoying Mercys Angel's and I am jumping back in right now
Book 3: Tortured Soul
Ok so I have Loved all the ones I've read so far, but Tortured Soul is probably the most intense and brings the reader into a world that would shock. Unfortunately I am sure there's trafficking happening like this in reality, I have read consensual BDSM books, but this is my first that has really delved into the world of sex trafficking. I think Ms Dallas has created a thought provoking storyline, that shows some of the issues of life after rescue from this sadistic underground world. Emily had been so broken it was really heartbreaking to understand how debilitating it was for her to live in the real world. This isn't an easy read, but I was routing for Emily and Braiden to find love.
The other characters who feature in the Mercys Angel's series are in this book and it was good to get some updates on their lives also. I'm about to jump into book 4 now.
One quote that summed up was the authors final paragraph in this book:
Sometimes, the chains that prevent us from being free are just as much mental as they are physical.
This is probably something we all should remember as we deal with the ups and downs, I hope those who are dealing with abuse, find their freedom, it is a hard battle... But it's worth it.🫂
This is one of those series, you can't put down, I loved it!! The heroes are all strong and protective, and the heroines are all over coming some kind of abuse, or trauma. The sex scenes are great!
Oh my god! This series is fantastic! From the ashes four strong brave women rise above the destruction of their lives to start again. With the help of a strong protective bunch of men, they find themselves able to put the past to rest and start over. From abusive stepfather, spouse, criminals and kidnappers, each story will tear you apart. Kirsty Dallas has spun some heart wrenching stories full of heartache, suspense and of love. I was scared to finish the last book thinking it was the end to this series, but its NOT!!!! To say I will be stalking this author until I see the next book in this series is an understatement.
This book was really good for the fist 3 stories which is why I gave 3 out of 4 stars. If you don't want spoilers please don't read on.
The first 3 stories we well written and somewhat realistic I highly recommend them the forth was way to easy to predict. The neighbors were way to easy to pick as the abductors. Jax and Ella having a baby seemed to rushed and did not add anything to the story at all.
Excellent Series that just keeps getting better and better!
Some artists start off strong then just seem to fade away, some book series are the same, but Kirsty Dallas' Mercy's Angels book series just keeps getting better. Strong characters, sensitive issues, and great story lines make this definitely worth reading!
Fantastic storytelling that made me care about the characters and experience their highs and lows right along with them. Future books in the Mercy's Angels series will definitely be on my Must Buy list. The one thing that would make this series even stronger would be better editing.
I love this collection of kick ass women and enjoyed each page as these women fought their way back to live and acceptance. The Alpha men are pretty hot, too!!! Eagerly awaiting Lola's story!!
I loved this box set! The stories of Ella Emily Rebecca and lovely mother Annie and the boys are awesome and well written. I loved how you feel in love with all the characters and how all the ladies overcame their fears and became strong fighters. I say bring on Lolas story in 2016 :P
