Embark on an epic journey with Amy, Avi, and Phoenix to the mysterious world of Mythe. There they will encounter dangerous creatures and powerful magic on a planet light years away from our own. Phoenix is faced with an arduous adventure through sand dunes and floating islands to the Mercurial Mountains where her mother and father have been taken by the malevolent White Witch. Along the way, she meets a myriad of lovable companions who will help her discover some clues about the real significance of her destiny. That she is first human child born on Mythe in an age.
To be honest, this is not my normal sort of read. Well, more accurately, this isn't anybody's normal sort of read because this is truly one of the most original books I have read in some time. The authors have a clear vision of their universe and it's obvious that there's more beyond what's written here. It all makes sense that this book is based on a forthcoming video game of the same title. This book is an easy and fun read for anyone, but I particularly think it'll do well with the "Minecraft demographic," if you know what I mean. If your teen son has trouble picking up a book instead of a screen, this would be a great book to give him! Well done, apixal!
An excellent story so far! I don't actually read that many books nowadays (I even registered an account here just to make a review), but this book made an exception. I haven't read the third part yet, as I'm waiting for the game to come out first - but the first and second parts have set up a great background for the game. I'm really liking how the project is coming along, keep it up apixal, you have my support all the way! :D
This was a rather interesting read. I knew going in that it was the basis for a game. Unfortunately, no news has come of that game for a few years now, which is disappointing considering that the book made me pretty excited for it. There are plot holes and areas I wish were filled in better, but as someone else said, you can tell this is a labor of love. I hope the game DOES get published. I'll be in line to buy it.
Loved the story, I just wish the story and the acts had been more developed. With each act once it reached a certain part of the story it felt rushed, I would have loved act two to have been drawn out and explained a little more, as well as act 3 having more of a final battle. Loved the story line overall.
To start off let me say that there are few big problems with it in general. The plot can sometimes feel unfocused and the ending is anticlimactic. The characters are also undeveloped and some plot points are skimmed over. That being said I still recommend this book because it does one things most books have a hard time doing. It's unique. It's incredible fresh and imaginative. Can't wait to play the game and learn more about Mythe.
This is a very special book. A clear love project. I liked it a lot. It is however a prologue. The story is rich with background and the author takes his time to set the story. For me this was a bit too much and was a bit of a grind. The last part (20% on my Kindl) went very fast and left me wanting to know more. Overall an interesting story, well written with clear passion.
I loved the characters and the story. The book explains the third part of it will be a game and I think the game will fill in some of the holes. It was a great story overall. Highly recommended.
