love this story it was fast pace,sexy and fun to read.

I really enjoyed this one. I've read and enjoyed Tara Oakes' work before but this has a completely different feel to it.
I read it really quickly, it's fast paced, page turning stuff, full of comedic moments as well as tension, drama, sex and passion.
I love the sassy yet slightly vulnerable Jess. It makes a refreshing change to come across a female character I can relate too. Often times they're one or the other, not a true mix. I especially enjoyed watching how Chris bought out that fight in her!
Speaking of Chris...sigh! He's one heck of a man. Overflowing with sex appeal and temptation! A proper man's man, wooing the ladies, making them melt! By gum...
The reason I'm "only" giving it 4 stars is because I had Cooper figured out pretty early on, so although I still enjoyed the story and my kept on flicking the screen, there were no great surprises for me, not massive build up, no "Ooooh, I say" moments.
The ending for me as well was a bit of a flop. It kind of fizzled a bit...but maybe because I'm so used to cliff hangers now a days anything other than that does just feel odd!
Definitely can't wait for book 2!

Wow! This is my first read for this author and I can say I was pleasantly surprised! If you are familiar with this author, the two lead characters have been introduced in a previous series. I had no trouble assimilating to who was who in the story.
I enjoyed the love/hate snarky dialogue with the main characters, Jess and Chris. It was obvious they new each other well and played off that intimacy. The heat factor was also cranked up because of their past history.
This story primarily focuses on Jess and Chris. The secondary characters are somewhat interesting, but the story is too short to really get a feel for their personalities. this has some suspense to it but no violence. Overall, a short quick read for me and a well written story!

I received this arc for an honest review for Love Infinity Book Blog.
This was a great book! Chris and Jess are exes who are thrown back together. He's an FBI agent and she's working on her father's campaign when someone tries to blackmail him using photographs of her. I loved the tension and playfulness between the two of them. They go through a lot on the journey of trying to solve the case, including some very hot sex. I love the ending and can't wait to read the next book in this series.

4.5* This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! It was a fun, hot and a little suspenseful too.
I did though devour this book in a couple of hours, purely because it had me hooked from the start, and that was mainly because of the banter and chemistry between Chris and Jess and I hope there story is revisited by this author in the future. As I would love to read more!!
Overall though it is definitely worth reading, and I will certainly be looking out for more books by this author in the future.

Sexy, fun, easy read about 2 characters we first met in the Kingsman series. Agent Chris Gibson, aka Pretty Boy, had infiltrated the Slayers to investigate their dealings. During a murder investigation he met Lil's best friend Jess Leary. Sparks fly, and soon, they get involved in their own love story, until family, and job obligations tear them apart. This novel entertains their combustible, intense reunion.

I became a fan of Tara Oakes work when I read the Kingsman MC Series. However, this book was just not holding my interest. ( Despite the fact that this story line takes place in Charleston, SC where I have resided for 5 years.) I tried to restart the book to see if I was just missing pieces that would make the story come to life for me, but it didn't pan out. I managed to reach the end.
This wasn't my favorite and I more than likely will not continue this series in particular, but I will continue to read other future series or novels by her.

✯✯4 Pretty Crazy Stars!!!✯✯
This is the first book in Tara Oakes new series. I never read any of her other books before. So, she's new for me and I am a fan. The fact that everything was based around something that had happened in her previous series and I wasn't lost. That totally won me over!!
Jessica is working on her father's Senate re-election campaign and working hard. Then, someone tries to blackmail her father. And, they are using Jess as the bait. Literally! So, she calls the one guy who always told her he'd be there for her. Jess doesn't want to see him. It may be months since they've seen each other. But, it won't matter and she knows it.
Chris works as one of the FBI's undercover agents. He has rose to the top and really quick. Unfortunately, while he was working to get to the top he lost Jess in the process. He was shocked to see she called and needed his help. When they see each other the sparks and chemistry are still there. Chris tries pushing Jess buttons and she trying to keep strictly business.
Jess explains that her father is being blackmailed. Chris wasn't too shocked because he knows exactly who and what her father is. But, when she sows him the pictures his heart sinks. It's pictures of Jessica when she went undercover as a stripper and helped him solve his biggest case and got his promotion.
Chris plans on doing whatever he can to find out who's behind this. Jess plans on going with Chris to help figure all this out. There time together was far from easy. Both are realizing just how good they are together. They both know that their main reason to them ending was Chris's job coming first before everything and everyone. Both are trying to fight their feelings but it's proving harder and harder. These 2 should both be in the FBI because man can Jess do some awesome undercover work and investigating. Unfortunately, she's too good!! They realize the blackmailer is coming from a leak in her father's campaign. She also uncovers a bunch about her father and that Chris knew it all along. Can these 2 ever get back to that place where the happiest?
This was an easy and quick read. Tara definitely threw me a bunch of OMG, WTF just happened moments. Which I loved!! Jess I really liked her. She strong, feisty and goes after what she believes. Chris. Man oh man. He can handcuff me ANYTIME!! But, he's good at his job. He has a hard time saying his feelings out loud. But, she can show you how he feels. I am glad I got to read this and am looking forward to the next book.

This is my first time reading a book by this author, but once I saw the cover and the synopsis I just had to have it. This is a second chance romance with some drama for your mama, suspense, a really hot dirty mouth talking FBI agent, a sassy yet classy heroine and some really-really hot sex. The story is told in dual POV’s and let me say getting to know these 2 characters through their thoughts and feelings was such a thrill.
Jessica Leary I loved this character; she was strong, fearless and was determined to been seen as more than a pretty face and a decoration. Jessica is working on her father’s Senate Reelection campaign, and she has done one heck of a job, until something threatens to tear everything apart. Jessica knows the only man capable of handling this kind of threat, is the very man who broke her heart months before, “Pretty Boy Chris Gibson”. Jessica was so determined to show Chris just has much she has changed and how his presence does not affect anymore.
Agent Christopher Gibson aka “Pretty Boy” is so darn lickable. Chris has the job of his dreams, no one waiting for him at home, and is one of the FBI’s most valuable undercover field agents. After the break up from the only woman who sets his heart and body on fire, Chris makes sure to tell Jessica if she ever needed him to call. Chris is good at his job; his job is to help Jessica eliminate the threat. Chris is so focused and controlled in everything, but the more he is around her the more he starts realizing that something he has been missing for months.
I loved the relationship between Chris and Jessica. They have great chemistry and a strong bond. The banter between these two characters is seriously funny. What drew me into these characters was that fact that when they are together they work so well together. The more time they spend together the more they both know they belong together. When these two finally get their heads out of their behinds, HOLY-MOLY things get heated fast. For the record Pretty Boy can show what happens when good girls become bad girls, any time he wants. What happens when secrets come out? Secrets that can and will test the strength of their bond? Can Jessica and Chris eliminate the threat and manage to stay together? This book is a spin-off of the The Kingsmen MC series. Jessica is working on her father’s senate re-election campaign. Someone is blackmailing her father using pictures of Jessica from when she helped Chris with a case he was working. Chris has always told her all she has to do is call. Even though they aren’t together anymore she knows that is still true. So she does just that, she calls him and he comes to help. Chris has been kicking himself for the last couple of months. He can’t believe he let Jessica get away maybe this will be his second chance with her. He won’t let anyone take advantage of her. He is going to help her find out who is blackmailing her father even though he doesn’t like that man; he is doing this for Jessica not her father. Jessica is dating her father’s right hand man; he didn’t want her to call Chris. He thought they should just pay the blackmailer off and forget it ever happened. Jessica is nervous to see Chris again. She is worried about the feeling he may stir up. Chris and Jessica get their first lead to follow and are off. Will being thrown together while trying to figure out who the blackmailer is give them a chance to get back together? This book was a fun interesting read. Chris is a tough no nonsense FBI agent when he needs to be but he is so much more. Jessica is head strong, feisty, and likes to help with Chris’s investigations. This story takes Chris and Jessica on an adventure. Jessica isn’t prepared for everything she learns during the book. Chris is forced to tell Jessica things she doesn’t want to hear that could ruin any chance they have at a second chance or could bring them closer than anything. Politics is a dirty business and Jessica is about to find out just how dirty. I have not read the Kingsmen series but I wasn’t confused at all while reading this book. They go over how Jessica and Chris meet as well as why they didn’t work the first time. I look forward to reading the other books to come in this new series. Great job Tara.

Wow Holy Smoke I just finish reading this book, and I love it, love the characters, I cant believe how it end it like this, I am so glad I got the chance to read the book, I love the way how this Author writes, I felt in love with her writing ever since I read the Kings Man Series, if you had read it than you met Jess Lils friends and Chris the Undercover agent. This is their story, and I am going to keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story beggings with Jess being in her office, she is working for her father who is running for senater, after Jess dad being black mail, she knew that only one person could help her out, she just did not think that she would see him againg so soon, that's when her office door open and walk in FBI Agent Chris. A friend and the love of her life, while she tell him whats going on Chris agree to help her out, that's when Jess decided to go with him to find out the truth, but what they both where not expecting was for those feeling to come rushing back to each other, will they get to the bottom of the truth on whose black maling her father, will they give the love they have for each other a chance we just have to see and find out.
I love how Jess and Chris are with each other, love it how strong attitude Jess have and how she stand up for herself. Love how Chris is with her and how he is not afraid to show her how he feels about her. Love it how he don't treat her like a doll, how he knows that she could handle herself, and what can I say their Sex Scene are just to HOT.

I loved this book. Sexy, sweet, and suspenseful, this book was quite the read that I completely devoured in one afternoon. I have read a few books here and there but this is definitely my favorite. And the best part?! It is a complete standalone with a perfect happy ending.
This author captivated me in this book. She hooked me from the very first page and I found myself trying to flip the pages long after this book was over. This book was so intense and passionate at times that I could feel the chemistry and passion just pouring off of the pages.
This is Jess and Chris' story. Jess and Chris have history. They burned it up between the sheets until Jess decided that she needed more from him because she knew his job would always come first before her. But now she has moved on and is ready to face him again... or is she?
Now her father is threatening to be exposed because of her past. And she knows Chris will do anything he can to help her. The moment they see each other, that chemistry is still there and they have a pull they can't resist. Can they solve the mystery and find their second chance at love?
Ok seriously Chris was yummy. I loved it when he was demanding from her and pushed her when she needed it. The way he protected her showed how fiercely he loved her. I also liked Jess. She was a mess of contradictions but as she took control of her life again, we saw the real girl.
I am excited this is a series and I cannot wait for more in the future!

Since I didn’t read the MC series, I didn’t feel lost or anything while reading this. If anything, it made me want to go back and read her MC series!! The storylines that were discussed defo made me want to know more about this cast or characters.
This book is about yummy FBI agent Chris who dated and left the Senators daughter, Jess. Jess and he met again while he was investigating the MC in her other series and began a tumultuous relationship. The couple have been apart for several months when pictures show up and Jess turns to Chris help her out. The tether of the two starts to pull closer. They are both hot mess of want and need. They both want the other but she will not be 2nd best and isn’t good enough for her.
When they both go to investigate the blackmailing, the couple begin to dance around the other. Chris is pulling out the stops to get her back. He knows what he wants and needs. He can’t imagine not being with her. While investigating they grow close *snickers” but keep having troubles from past come to haunt them.
I enjoyed the plot of who was blackmailing. I loved how Chris and Jess both annoyed the heck out of each other while also sizzling the sheets with chemistry.

Jess and he met again while he was investigating the MC in her other series and began a tumultuous relationship. The couple have been apart for several months when pictures show up and Jess turns to Chris help her out. The tether of the two starts to pull closer. They are both hot mess of want and need. They both want the other but she will not be 2nd best and isn’t good enough for her.
When they both go to investigate the blackmailing, the couple begin to dance around the other. Chris is pulling out the stops to get her back. He knows what he wants and needs. He can’t imagine not being with her. While investigating they grow close *snickers” but keep having troubles from past come to haunt them.
I enjoyed the plot of who was blackmailing. I loved how Chris and Jess both annoyed the heck out of each other while also sizzling the sheets with chemistry.

Fast and steamy, just like I like them.
I have been a fan of Tara Oakes work for awhile and this is another strong addition to her growing collection of books. This is book one to the new Badge Boys series where we meet Chris and Jess (again). Chris is an FBI agent who loves and completely devoted to his job. Jess is the senator's daughter who now works on him campaign for re-election. This unlikely pair used to be a thing, but their lives got in the way but now that she needs help there is no one better for the job than Chris.
The tension between these two is pretty obvious and immediate. It doesn't quite seem like months since they have been together and are both trying to move forward with their very separate lives. Because the blackmail stems from a part of their lives that made them once a couple they need to figure out the threat together and reevaluate where the leak has come from. Working together, even for a brief amount of time is bound to cause some reaction.
As with a lot of shorter stories, I still was left wanting more but I know that I will get more later on. The writing kept me interested and I swallowed this up in short order. I liked both of our leading characters and this case seems like it could be the start of something more for them down the line. They are both stubborn and bound to cause each other problems, except between the sheets where they are flawless. I am super excited about about the next book and can't wait to see where this series goes.

Great intro to the Badge Boys series! This was a nice sexy quick read that I easily devoured in one sitting. There’s a little sleuthing going on throughout the book and it was fun to try and figure out “who done it” while also getting wrapped up in the romance…okay maybe the sexy Agent Gibson didn’t hurt things either.
Chris and Jess have history. They tried dating several months ago but after a big case (where Jess went undercover to help solve the case) things fell apart for them and Jess left. Now they’re thrown back together when pictures of Jess when she was undercover as a stripper are sent to her dad (who is running for re-election) to blackmail him. Jess calls Chris in to help and so begins their journey to find who’s doing the blackmailing and stop it. Along the way things get hot an heavy between these two again. Chris is hot, confident, and totally alpha. It’s obvious Jess has this total feisty naughty girl side but she hides it under her good girl side. She’s totally pressured by her dad to act a certain way and only hang around certain people. I absolutely loved these two and really enjoyed their journey together.
The story line was fast paced but also flowed really well. I never felt like there was a lull in the story. I found myself constantly trying to figure out who was behind the blackmailing and also hoping Chris and Jess would work out their differences and Jess would finally come out of her shell and find out what kind of person her dad really was. I have forgotten how much I freaking love a Tara Oakes book. Seriously if you haven’t read one of her books yet make sure you do because you will have sexy alpha assholish males who you will want to lick your kindle screen for, or wait maybe the screen licking is just me? Anyways, you will have a sassy female who isn’t going to let said male run all over her. Add into that some steamy sex scenes, action ad a fast paced book and you have a book by Tara Oakes and Pretty Boy is all of that and more.
I absolutely loved the banter between Chris and Jess. Oh and Jess is Lil’s best friend, and if you don’t know who Lil is, well seriously you need to know who Lil is, not for this book but because Lil is the shit! Okay back to my original train of thought. Chris and Jess used to date and so to say they are not BFFs when the book starts is an understatement. Jess was hurt that Chris allowed his job to be more important to her, and Chris well he missed Jess but never really acted like he was sorry for losing her. The sexual chemistry between them was off the charts hot. You just knew these two wouldn’t be able to resist each other, even when there was drama surrounding the reason.
Pretty Boy will have you laughing, on the edge of your seat waiting to see if Chris and Jess will be at each other’s throats or attack each other in a whole different way. I can’t wait to read more from this series because if the rest are as good as Pretty Boy, well then this book whore will be looking to be arrested by one of these hot guys.

This is the first book that I’ve read by Tara Oakes. I’ve had her MC series on my TBR list for a while. I just haven’t had a chance to read them yet. They will definitely be moving up to the top of my list now.
This is the first book in the Badge Boys series. I will keep reading this series. This is a great start.

But they can’t fight their feelings.
“Because without you, it doesn’t matter if I have my job, if I have anything. It means nothing if you’re not there to come home to.”
I did have an idea who was behind everything, and I was right. This is still a great read though.
I’m ready for the next one.

Tara has done it again. I always enjoy everything that Tara Oakes writes. Pretty Boy is no different. This one is different from most of what I have read from Tara but no less exciting.
Jessica is force to call on her ex that she thought was in her pass. Chris Gibson (Pretty Boy) thinks he has everything he wants, his career, no one to answer to but his self. This is all true till he gets the call that sends him running to the aide of Jess. These two are forced to work to find who is trying to destroy Jess father’s name.
These two come from very different walks of life and that doesn’t seem to change as they have been apart. They have a very strong attraction that seem to pull these two together anytime they are around each other but it ends at the point. Jess refuses to be put second to anything in life.
The suspense alone in this book made me fall in love with it, than you add in the twisted plot to Pretty Boy and you have a book that you can’t put down. These two light the pages up never letting you cool down. All I can tell you is that I’m on pins and needles till I can get my hands on the next book in this series!!!!

Pretty Boy (Badge Boys, #1) By Tara Oakes is Jess a young lady who is working on her father’s reelection campaign when he is being blackmailed. She calls in her ex boyfriend who just so happens to be an FBI agent. Agent Christopher Gibson is serious about his job in fact it is his job which caused the breakup of his relationship with Jess even though he still has feelings for her. While trying to discover who is the one who sent the explicit video of Jess stripping has not only brought up their old feeling they have for each other but has them questioning why they really separated in the first place. It was Jess’s help as pretending to be a stripper which was the catalyst to Chris’s rise in the bureau. This book is the start of the Badge Boy series and is an off shoot of the Kingsmen MC series. What Jess and Chris go through to find out who what and why behind the blackmail is a really good story. A cute quick read. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. I give this book 4 stars

I really liked the book. The story was fast paced, suspenseful and sexy. I devoured it in mere hours. I like how it was such an easy read and the plot was extremely engaging.
The story revolves around FBI Agent Christopher Gibson and Jessica Leary. Jess is giving her everything to her Father's Senate re-election campaign. She has no time for personal life as all her focus is her dad's campaign. One day her dad's office gets a blackmail letter containing some objectionable photos that force Jess to call her ex- boyfriend for help. This is the last thing she wants considering they did not part ways on good terms. Chris, on the other hand, is eager to help. He knows what he lost and now he has his eyes set on Jess and does not plan on letting her go. What follows is a roller- coaster ride full of raw passion, mystery and explosive chemistry.
This is a very amazing start to what I think will be a brilliant series. I'll be looking forward for more with bated breath.
