Este libro nos permite viajar al mar Caribe, nos transporta en un barco corsario a través del mar, la selva y la ciudad de Maracaibo en 1666.
El protagonista es el conde de Ventimiglia, un noble que quiere vengar la muerte a traición de su hermano mayor y se convierte en corsario para matar al traicionero y así vengar a su familia. Se le conoce como el corsario negro por que usa el negro como color de su ropa.
Una historia llena de aventuras, bien cuidada, Salgari realmente hizo una buena investigación y nos lleva por muchos lugares del caribe mencionando y describiendo lugares, árboles, frutas, animales y climas.
De pronto te sientes parte de la tripulación e igual que Carniux, Want Stiller y Moko,el africano; le guardas lealtad y admiración al corsario negro.

It is a compilation of five books: Il Corsaro Nero, La regina dei Caraibi, La figlia del Corsaro Nero, Il figlio del Corsaro Rosso and Gli ultimi filibustieri. Sincerely, the story was a decrescendo, mainly because some tricks of the firsts books are used again and again, but you learn to love all the sidekicks and almost all the protagonists (except for the Red Corsair's daughter) and you can appreciate the golden age of piracy and how it was destined to end, even with a little of melancholy.
