Okay so you guys might be wondering why the f*ck I keep 4-starring this crazy lady's smutty, dirty, filthy and rather unrealistic "love" stories. Well...it's because she promises cheesy erotica to perverts like me, and I always have a huge grin on my face when I'm reading her work. (And occasionally a twisted face out of disgust...but that's irrelevant.) She gives exactly what she promises. Aren't these stars supposed to show people on Goodreads how much we enjoyed the books we read?
OVERALL: Read it for THAT if nothing else.

I really enjoyed this story.
However, I must say that this book needs some editing. There are a few worlds and sentences with errors along the way, but the part that really needs correcting is the fact that Shopie is for the most part 18 years old, while from time to time, more towards the end, she is about to turn 18. So it is obvious that originally, the writer wrote Sophie as a minor, and then she changed her mind, but she didn't revise all the references to her age well.
I know that this romance would have been much more controversial that it already can be, with Sophie been 17, still, to me the story would have been more taboo, more powerful with her actually being a minor. Let's remember this is not real, is smut pure and simple, a guilty pleasure fantasy, nothing more. In reality, 17 or 18 doesn't make much of a difference, however, psychologically it does, so I think 17 goes better with the taboo aspect of this relationship.
This book has less actual sex that I would have expected from this writer, so I admit I would have liked a bit more of that.
I also think that there was a big gap between the last chapter and the one before it. It is as if their story advanced and we missed it. I think there is some development needed there.
Despite all the things that I might have found wrong or in need of improvement, I had fun reading it and I liked their story, that is why I am giving it 4 stars, that's my overall feeling.

Alright here's the thing... My New Step-Dad could actually been pretty good, which makes this soo sad that I didn't like it that much :/ Perhaps it was because its so short? Or it's simply because it was really fast insta-love... And if you know me, then you know I hate insta-love!
Fake smiles and hellos are not something I want to be a part of. I watched my mother do it, and I despised it. I want real.
The characters; Sophie was an innocent 17 year old girl who has lived her whole life under the care of nannies and boarding school for girls so she has no idea how to act around men, but she seems to know what to do if you asked me... I get that she would lust after Bruce, I mean he's hot, older and experienced ect, but still, lust isn't love...

Bruce was hot. I'm just saying that first, because I wouldn't mind fucking him... (*ops, did I just say that?*) He sexy, good at what he does (he's a lawyer) and he's rich. But the thing about Bruce is that he became a complete puppy as soon as the tables were turned around and I lost a bit of the lust I had for him, which sucks because in the beginning I was a bit turn on by him. And I absolutely got annoyed when he suddenly loved her after three days or something.. I mean come on, you cannot know it that fast!?!
“I’m tired of chasing affection. I’m worth more than that. I may be young, but I know what I want. I want someone who’s willing to give up everything for me. And I deserve someone who’s proud to be with me instead of being ashamed of their feelings.”
Overall, I liked it, but I didn't. Why I didn't? Because I know it could have been so much better. Perhaps if Alexa Riley had made the book a bit longer, where as the relationship didn't turn to love after three freaking days. But perhaps it has something with the fact that I hate insta-love so fiercely and it ruined this book for me....(yes, I mentioned that twice just so you would get the picture that I really do hate insta-love) Who knows?
She makes me want things I shouldn't.

I read this book at least 3 times now and each time I discover something else I love about it.
This is NOT a Daddy dearest little girl book for those who are wondering.
The hero does NOT have any physical relationship with her mother (who he married for mutually beneficial reasons).
It's simple a book about an older man and a very young woman. They share a bond that goes beyond age. They try to deny their feelings but love and passion will not be denied for long.
It takes a very small spark to set off this powder keg!
And in the end it's a sweet epilogue with them 5 years down the line.
"I love you, baby,” I whisper against her neck. “I love you too, Bruce.”
LOVE IT AND WILL READ AGAIN, SOON!

I should have trusted my gut instinct.
The title alone creep me out on the spot. But of course, stubborn me and my curiosity, I bought it, read it, and now I need to pour my heart out as to how awkward this book made me feel the entire time I was reading it.
Don’t get me wrong. This book is - how should I put it – uncomfortably right. You either rip the book to pieces or use it as an alternative Playboy mag without the nude pics. Better if there’s an audio book version with the moans, groans, squeaks, slaps and fuck talks in the background.
Now, let me tackle first why this book is awkward.
Two words: Step-dad.
Uhm. That’s… That’s about it.
Boy, shortest explanation I’ve ever done.
Though this isn’t a daddy book because the plot significantly stressed that Bruce and Sophie’s mother was indeed married for five years but only on the paper. Thus, the marriage wasn’t consummated – at all. They were law firm partners; lives in a penthouse but each have their own bedrooms and home offices. So technically, Bruce and Sophie are safe to have sex without “sharing” or “passing” something (or someone) to one another. Ah hell. Saying it out loud makes me cringe.
Now, for the characters.
Bruce is a thirty-something workaholic. So to have a huge responsibility outside his work capacity made him agitated to take care of Sophie, even just for a week, before Sophie turns eighteen. But upon seeing her, that changes.
Sophie, on the other hand, literally grew up without a mother. She was sent to an all-girls boarding school in France. So to say the least, she and her mom were pretty much strangers to one another. But when sudden circumstance required her to go back to US, little did she know her life is about to turn 360.
Furthermore, Sophie is a virgin. (I’m thinking this is the author’s trademark. Same with the characters’ age gap. H is a lot older while h is just entering the legal age. And of course, H always wants to impregnate h.) So when Sophie decided to chase Bruce, along the way that became more awkward. Let’s just say – Sophie grew up in all-girls boarding school, never had a bond with her mom, no one to guide her to womanhood, uses pillow to orgasm – that kind of awkward chase. However, Sophie gained confidence instantaneously in seducing Bruce even though she has no experience at all and was secluded from boys all throughout her adolescent years.
This is the tricky part to explain.
In reality, this plot is acceptable knowing that we can access all kinds of medium to gain knowledge even without experiencing it first-hand. The problem though was the execution of the story. I’m aware that this is only a novella, which means, limited words. But, isn’t why the English language have vast array of words? One word can mean two or more different things. That is the beauty of the English language. So given that this is a very sensitive plot, execution is very important.
But still, the author infused hot, filthy, but equally good smut squeezed in less than hundred pages. So the next time you come across an Alexa Riley book with borderline-incestuous title; pause, take a deep breath, and get ready for instant lust and love.

There's so much wrong with this and yet I flew through it and enjoyed every page.
There is SO MUCH Raahoshing in this. It's like all my Raahoshing dreams came true and were encapsulated into this naughty story.
There's slut shaming and Bruce is an overbearing asshole who tells Sophie what she can and can't wear. But it didn't bother me, probably because of the Raahoshing.
Authors, take note: If your characters make questionable decisions, get them to Raahosh for me and I will be much more lenient.

Bruce and Sophie's mom were married on paper only and for their job, to make partners. They lived together but there's no intimacy involved. Work was all that matters to them.
Sophie just graduated from high school and her mother died recently. She needed to stay with her step-father, Bruce until her mother's estate is settled. She and her mother were not close. She was shipped to boarding school and her mother didn't even visit her there. It's as if she doesn't have a daughter.
Bruce and Sophie wanted each other but Bruce had a hard time accepting his feelings for her. He was pushing her away, fighting his attraction but Sophie still chased him until she can't take it anymore. She told herself she's done doing the chasing and wanted someone to choose her over everything else. She's tired being always a second choice. She started to ignore him and the more she ignores him, the more it drives him crazy.
Thankfully, Bruce had made up his mind and chose the right thing and what will make him happy, both of them happy. There's a lovely epilogue too.

Why name the leading man Bruce!! Like seriously of all the names in the world, BRUCE REALLY? Im just going to be thinking about Caitlyn Jenner through out the whole book. Not only that but Bruce is the most unsexy name I have ever heard! It sounds like a guy you would see at the store in the medicine isle looking at foot ointment! (LOL) Im sure it will just as sexy as all the other books though ;) Here's hoping!

Just a few quick words. First let me say, this is not a Daddy book. Yes, he is technically her step-father but there is no DD/lg kink in this book.
This was still a sexy read. Alexa Riley has perfected the art of the quick smutty read. Bruce and Sophie come together under unusual circumstances and their attraction is instant. They both make valiant efforts to fight the growing attraction but alas, they are futile attempts to stay apart.

I have no clue why Alexa Riley always talks in her books about getting the female pregnant with the males seeds!! I dont get it!! And all the females being virgins!! AND AND the men being older than their so called "SOUL MATE" by alot I mean ALOT!
I was kinda creeped out about this book, but I just felt that it would sweep me off my feet!! YUP I WAS DISAPPOINTED!!!!
First off and what pissed my off the most was what a bitchy (excuse my language) mom Sophie (17 year old innocent virgin) had! Who the hell wont mention their daughter in the 5 year they've been married only a couple of times! SERIOUSLY that was just f*cked up!!! NO matter how busy a mother is she will never walk through life as if she doesnt have a daughter and ship her of to boarding school in god knows where and not even visit her or bring her home on holidays!!! That really got me angry!
Second, Bruce (the step-dad) & Sophie's affection was waaaaay to fast, I mean way way way too fast! Like give it at least a week or two before you start your "I'm in love", "I need him", "I WANT her" bullshit!!!! In one day, not even over the night they built feelings for each other, just from the looks!!! That was kinda gross and unbelievable! I would have at least gave it a couple of weeks before giving into my feelings!! The entire process of their romance didnt even take a week which sounds nonsense and creepy!

I was kinda creeped out about this book, but I just felt that it would sweep me off my feet!! YUP I WAS DISAPPOINTED!!!!
First off and what pissed my off the most was what a bitchy (excuse my language) mom Sophie (17 year old innocent virgin) had! Who the hell wont mention their daughter in the 5 year they've been married only a couple of times! SERIOUSLY that was just f*cked up!!! NO matter how busy a mother is she will never walk through life as if she doesnt have a daughter and ship her of to boarding school in god knows where and not even visit her or bring her home on holidays!!! That really got me angry!
Second, Bruce (the step-dad) & Sophie's affection was waaaaay to fast, I mean way way way too fast! Like give it at least a week or two before you start your "I'm in love", "I need him", "I WANT her" bullshit!!!! In one day, not even over the night they built feelings for each other, just from the looks!!! That was kinda gross and unbelievable! I would have at least gave it a couple of weeks before giving into my feelings!! The entire process of their romance didnt even take a week which sounds nonsense and creepy!
