Quite and easy read with some cozy elements and I'm a little curious with the world building and characters introduced about the later books in the series, enough to continue on with it. Not overly attached yet. But a decent read. Nice to read a romance that isn't overly smutty

While Jenny was walking along the beach, she saw a little boy run into the water. She went after him because she was afraid he would drown.
Orion, the ruler of the underwater kingdom and also the boy's father, was looking for a bride but he never thought little Dolph would bring him one.
The second in the Seven Kingdom Tales. I liked it.

Simple and easy to listen to while I clean the house...a tad of the old school fairy tales mixed with new age humans...definitely a beginner steamy novel...

This was a slow starter for me. There were some family dynamics that remind me of my own family. Brandon and Geneva- who come from close families got together and then decided to keep it a secret from the family. After their breakup, the family threw them back together and what followed was all of the keeping secrets. the pretending, and the wondering if it could really work out between the two of them and what would the families think. I did enjoy it enough to want to read the next in series. This one also picked up for me the further I got into the book.

The story had potential. The world was interesting. Can be read as standalone. The performance was just ok. The male voice was alright. He had decent character voices. He just sounded monotonous in between and a little old. The story was written ok- definitely seemed a bit choppy with some off pacing. Overall decent but I don’t think I will read any more of this series. It is like a slowly paced Ruby Dixon story with less steam and not quite as well written.

Still don’t like it

I got this book because I like the author . This book doesn’t even seem like the same author the characters are vapid and shallow ... seems like something she wrote to make a quick buck. It should be called a novella for its length (half the book is previews of other books) I want to know what was going to happen but I can’t take it anymore. Not gonna spend my money on more of this.

Another magical book from S. E Smith, and book two in a new series about the Seven Kingdoms.
The magical race was underwater, but not with fish tails.
I loved it , always a pleasure to read a new S E Smith, and I devoured it.
I'm waiting for the Audio edition so I can listen to it as well.

I really enjoyed the first one so I was expecting the same amount of enjoyment from this one. Afterall, I quite liked the newsletter version and was again looking forward to it being expanded. But there was just something about this one that seemed too....childish maybe? It's hard to explain because this is definitely an adult book, but it was just all so happy and simple that at times it seemed almost silly. Then there were the sexy times, the fighting times, and even a smidge of humor at the end. So I guess it was just a weird mix for me. On the plus side, it was a beautifully created world here.

For a great deal of the story, Jenny is overwhelmingly naive and far too trusting. While I get that this started out as suuuuper short story so it had to all happen fast and this had to take that same story and just flesh it out, Jenny's thought processes (or lack thereof) were astounding. I like to think that I would be able to just go with the flow of things if something like this happened to me, but at the same time I would hope that I would still use my brain and not trust everything and everyone within moments of meeting them. And I certainly hope I wouldn't marry a guy just hours after meeting him. Which is what Jenny does. She's an elementary school teacher, so she ends up being exactly what Orion's children need as well.

I liked Orion. I do believe he indulged his children too much though sometimes. Orion lost his first wife after she gave birth to their second son. It was an arranged marriage, so there was no love there, but they both respected the other enough that it still hurt Orion to lose her. Fast forward a handful of years and Orion is being pressured to take another bride to maintain the balance in the kingdom. And when his sons bring with them a woman from another world who lights him on fire with a single look, that's exactly what he intends to do.

Orion's oldest son was tricked by the evil Magna (who may not be exactly as she appears) in an attempt to force Orion to take her as his wife. But Jenny shows up fulfilling his end of the contract leaving Magda furious. After that, not a whole lot happens. Though they marry right away, Orion spends weeks trying to officially court Jenny. Which wasn't hard at all. When a giant squid attacks the dome where his people live, Orion suffers a devastating loss. But he is also granted a remarkable gift. After that, again, not much happens. Orion helps Jenny adjust to her new life, we meet a dashing pirate, and finally Jenny finds her best friend after so many years apart.

Even though this one wasn't as great as I was hoping for, and I know how everything ends with Magna and the kingdoms, I'll still be checking out the other stories eventually.

🔱 “I captured her. That makes her ours….” 🔱

This is hands down my favorite in the Seven Kingdoms series! S.E. Smith’s underwater world is rich, vibrant, and full of heart, with major Poseidon vibes thanks to Orion, the Sea King himself.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (4.5/5)
🔥 (1/5)
Genre: SciFi / Fantasy Romance

The insta-attraction between Orion and Jenny felt natural and sweet, with just enough cozy touches to make it a perfect quick escape read.

🔱"Looking into those intense green eyes, she felt her insides melt once again. A slow, awkward smile curved her lips as she saw the man staring at her with a breathtaking intensity. Him… she thought, he’s someone I could be willing to wake up next to for the rest of my life." 🔱

Orion’s dilemma—marry to save his son or be forced into a deal with a sea witch—adds just the right amount of suspense. But it’s his two youngest sons, especially little Juno, who completely stole the show for me. Absolutely adorable and often hilarious!

Jenny’s journey through this magical underwater kingdom is full of laugh-out-loud moments and adventure. Her chemistry with Orion is undeniable, and together they’re a perfect match.

If you’re looking for a light fantasy romance with charm, warmth, and a captivating world, this one’s an underwater treasure.

A good continuation to the seven kingdoms series.
It has it all, dragons, mermaids and mermen, giants, cyclops, witches, pirates and so much more.
It’s been two years since Carly, Jenny’s best friend disappeared.
But Jenny never gave up and since she is looking for any trace or proof to discover anything to bring back her friend.
Until the day she follows a young boy swimming to far in the sea.
Here begins her adventures in the Seven Kingdoms world.
Between Jenny and Orion, the king of the Sea Serpent’s isle, it is instant attraction.
Hopefully as together they will have to fight against the Sea witch to free his kingdom and his family to her curse.
I liked Jenny’s interactions with Orion’s cute sons, Juno is so adorable. They add funny moments to the read, like Jenny internal banter!
Orion is a nice alpha, dealing with his duties and his family and some hard choices too.
I do. It know who will be featured in the next installment but can’t wait for Ashure’s story!

An excellent adventure in the second Seven Kingdoms tale!
This is a highly satisfying story for me. As sad as Jenny has been over the disappearance of her friend, Carla, she is soon swimming off into an unbelievable adventure of her own. The Sea King’s two young sons, Dolph and Juno, are both precocious and precious. Who wouldn’t want to nurture them? It doesn’t take long for Jenny and Orion, the Sea King, to delve into the instant attraction they felt.

The Sea Witch is an ever-present danger to all the Seven Kingdoms. You’ll be amazed at what is set in motion at her command! I love how our H/h handle that situation. The action never stops, problems are not yet resolved, but the ending of this story brings me tears of joy! Waiting with eager anticipation of more tales in the Seven Kingdoms.

Better than the Dragons Treasure

Ok, I really didn't think it was possible but I actually liked Sea Kings Lady better than the first in this new series from SE Smith. I love her books overall, when in doubt read the Dragon Lord's of Valdier. But this book is superb. I love this new world, just teeming with wonderful characters that you absolutely love. There is danger, magic, our world, the new worlds each with memorable problems and you get so wrapped up in these stories that they are over way to soon. I would recommend these books to everyone with a little magic, and love in their hearts. My only complaint I have to wait for the next one. Love this author, love this book.

Searching for her friend Carly who disappeared over 2 years ago, Jenny Ackerly chases down a boy who ran into the sea and discovers a underwater world. As her friend Carly was always into dragons, Jenny is all about her imaginary merman. Pulled from the water Jenny is more than immediately attracted to the Sea King and his 2 sons. She finds out that the boys are looking for a mom and the Sea King must choose a new bride within 2 days after he was widowed nearly 5 years ago. Then the ultimatum marry me or I lose my son. Her fiery red hair and elementary school teacher capabilities coupled with a great sense of humor wins the “mer folk” over and she takes one for the team helping her man fight of the evil cousin witch and her monsters. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Book 2 is just as fun as the first book. The tone and feel is the same though the dynamics are a little different. While the Isle of Dragons was unpopulated, the Isle of Sea Serpents was full of people and creatures. And the main storyline features kids in addition to a royal romance. A theory I had in book 1 has now gone completely out the window and I'm so glad! I'd have been fine to be right, but it's working out so much better than anything I had come up with.

I liked the family feel of the story and that Jenny never gave up in finding her friend. The romance was sweet, and the danger threatening all the Isles was continued in this book. I'm so invested in finding out what happens next, and I'm hoping that there may be some redemption to come for at least one of the characters.

I’ve grown very addicted to these books, they are calming and exciting, they are sweet and sexy.
Going through certain treatments can make something as simple as concentrating on a book or a film really difficult, there are days I want to crawl out of my own skin. On the worst of those a good book that catches my imagination, takes me away from reality and holds my attention, even for a little while, is a god sent gift.
This series is like that, it makes me sigh, and smile, and for a few have hours it takes me on a journey out of my skin.
It’s the good kind of escapism.

The beginning was boring but the minute Jenny arrives in the Isle of the Sea Serpents, the story got better.
It got emotional when Jenny died, Juno's sadness was felt.
I loved it when Jenny finally reunites with Carly but wished it happened a little sooner. Orion's reluctant to find out the truth was unfounded just as his decision to wait until Jenny was more familiar with his world. It's seem making his loved ones wait is 1 of his flaws.

The Seven Kingdoms (2)

This book is an excellent read. But! It has the same problem as book 1, too much rubbish at the end. If I'm reading a series I will read it, this, like book 1 and I fear the others too, has the complete 1st chapter of the next book at the end. Don't do it, I won't read it. It is annoying. If you continue to put that and the list of loads of other books at the back to "fatten" up your books, I for one, will not buy anymore

Intriguing

An intriguing series , the monster in magna reminds me a bit of the Dragon Lord's of Valdier's Uncle Raffvin. I have enjoyed both books in the series and re read book 1 before reading this one. You do not have to read book one but if you haven't you will want to read it when you finish The Sea Kings Lady.

The Sea King's Lady

Wonderful story with loads of laugh out loud moments. I loved Jenny she was a great heroine and Orion was a great hero. Wonderful characters that just drew you right in and made for a truly touching story. I really really can't wait to read the next in this series. I highly recommend this series.

Liked but discouraged

I really like all the characters and the story line. I am a great fan of Dragon and paranormal stories but am not a fan of explicit sex. I dislike having to skim through pages and pages of it to get back to the story. Why do most authors of paranormal think they have to put so much of it their bks?? So it makes it hard to find a book to read.

Very good book. This is the 2nd book in the series and found it just as good a read as the first one. There was a lot of tension in the battle scenes between his cousin the sea witch and the sea king. Lot of funny moments and some kid antics which had me smiling at the sea kings kids. Lots of passion too. Highly recommend.

Sweet

Standard fair tale with HEA but sweet. Not much happens in terms of the larger narrative arc which is slightly frustrating. This is really just a novella about falling in love. Not much magic either.

I'm enjoying the extended versions of the Seven Kingdoms adult fairy tales.
Orion and Jenny are a wonderful couple but I adore Dolph and Juno.
I won't fib, I think Ashure's story is going to be really good. I'm guessing that will be awhile.

Awesome #2

I love all of S. E. Smith's books, they are the perfect mix of romance, adventure, paranormal, and comedy. I laughed (a lot) and I cried. I cheered and got angry. I can't wait for the next story. Thanks!

Oh, I love this story! The action scenes were believable, the acts of the children were spot on, and the entire story pulled me in until I couldn’t put the book down. I cannot wait for book 3!

The Sea King's Lady

Continuing to Looking for her friend, who had disappeared a couple of years before
Jenny see a young boy dive into the sea, when he doesn't surface she dive in to save him.
That is the start of this great adventure.
