Evelyn Jacobs lives the life that every 20-year old dreams of. Big house, family with power and money... There is very little that she could want for... except Evelyn knows that she is different, and she isn't meant to be where she is.
Everywhere she looks, she finds more questions than answers. When she finally reaches out for help from a local cop, she finds herself in a downward spiral into a life and world that she could never have imagined existed.
The more that she learns about herself and where she came from, the more she asks, "What kind of monster am I?"
It's not easy to guess what's going on which is something I like. Too often I already know what's going to happen in a book so this was a nice change of pace.
I can see this playing out in my head kind of like a maze runner hunger games and something else, divergent maybe? It has lots of different elements and at times I felt like I was never going to get answers to have them all flooding towards me at once.
I do have to say, when I would read before bed, i had some of the most interesting dreams.
I definitely can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I'm trying to not give any spoilers. It's hard though.
