The Menopause Solution offers an inclusive and semi-detailed introduction to menopause. I found this to be a nice basis for any woman just beginning to learn about the subject, but not so all-encompassing that this could be a sole source of information. It’s a very good overview of many topics and in my opinion is best suited for women either just beginning to experience questionable symptoms or at the age where they think menopause is imminent. Those seeking more comprehensive information on specific menopause matters might be better served by finding a book that covers it in depth as this one only provides limited coverage of menopause related topics.

This is a comprehensive introductory guide aimed at women approaching or entering her menopausal years, but also informative for anyone who would like to learn more about menopause and women's health.

It is written in reference style and consists of four parts: Basics, navigating the changes, and controlling symptoms. Chapters within each section are inclusive and can be read in any order. It's an easy read and an easy book to navigate with a nice layout and visually appealing with photos, charts, and graphs.

I found the book informative but basic, and a good place to start if one wants a general survey. For example, the author discusses hormone therapy, gives a brief history, discusses a few pros and cons, but you won't come away knowing if it is right for you.

Have read a number of books on menopause this is by far the best one yet. It is up to date on remedies and covered topics I never would have thought were related to "the change". Definitely recommend even if you are not currently on your menopause journey.

============
At age 46, Lump was found on a mammogram on April 24th, 2019. Biopsy done on May 8th & was diagnosed on May 9, 2019 with Breast Cancer. Had Lumpectory Breast Cancer Surgery June 14, 2019. Since I had blood clots years ago, as part of my treatment plan (and discussing with my team of Drs) I had all hormones removed from my body in another surgery the same day as Breast Cancer Surgery – so I was only put under one time on June 14, 2019. As part of the next step in my treatment plan, I am on an Aromatase Inhibitor – Letrozole for 5 years putting me straight into Menopause. Will only need to have Radiation treatment. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions n stress for 2 months now & will be in a treatment plan for 5 years n more. . . Thankful for my great team of doctors/nurses, friends n family n other cancer survivors that have helped me out in my journey.

The following are 3 books that have helped me cope with my diagnosis, & enter this new chapter of my life… Live each day to fullest!! Never quit your Dreams!! Enjoy the little things!! . . . .

=====
From Amazon I purchased the Hard cover book June 2019:
"The Menopause Solution Mayo Clinic" == Author Stephanie S. Faubion, M.D.
>> This book had a lot of great reviews so I got it as well. I have not read the whole book yet, but in the process. Since I'm on Letrozole for 5 years, and my Lumpectomy Breast Cancer surgery & another surgery that put me straight into Menopause....

Gift from a friend that survived Breast Cancer in 2018- She gave the book to me a week after my diagnosis May 2019 :
"Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook" == Author: Judy C Kneece, RN, OCN.
>> This book helped me tremendously before surgery, recovering from surgery, and what is next. This book has a great deal of pictures, which I really liked showing what happens for search type of cancer. Goes into detail for so many areas that go along with treatment plan, Diet n exercise, health insurance, understanding the Diagnostic tests, pathology results, Chemo/radiation treatments, & so much more. I'm so glad my friend gave me this book. It is a great resource. My friend got it from where she had her Breast Cancer Treatment done- the Hospital gave them to their patients last year.

==========
From Amazon I purchased Digital format for Kindle July 2019:
“Getting Things Off My Chest: A Survivor's Guide to Staying Fearless and Fabulous in the Face of Breast Cancer” == Author: Melanie Young.
>> I bought the book July 2019 because of the great reviews. I book marked several areas/pages in book to refer back to on my Kindle. Information for what to do before having surgery, insurance issues, keeping a binder with your appointment info, insurance info, what you pay.
I have Excel sheets for what I have for prescription, over the counter medication. I need to be on certain vitamins for my Medication so I'm keeping track of receipts for vitamins (Vitamin D, Calcium, multi-vitamin). specific gluten free deodorant, and lotions for radiation as well. Gas mileage to appointments. Just another chapter in my life book to get through.

This author wrote about her experiences and added other areas for anyone going through any type of breast cancer and what to do to live each day to the fullest. Thank you for telling your story. Many resources throughout the book as well. :-) I will be checking back at this book many times.

Definitely decent.
I've read a fair number of books on menopause now, and this one seemed very bland at first. It had no hook, no personality. But what it does have is comprehensiveness. It has a strong focus on overall health and wellness for minimizing the problems that can come with menopause, and covers all manner of things related to health, in a way you'd expect from the Mayo clinic. Worth a read, but it's not the final word on menopause.

Solid, reliable information from one of the premiere medical clinics in the nation. I liked the layout of graphics, practical illustrations and straightforward manner. It was also good to see a lot of emotional/psychological information addressed in addition to strictly physical since mental health and emotional well being play such a critical component in our whole selves.

A general book about menopause. I was disappointed that there wasn't more information about some symptoms.

A must have - I'll return to it frequently as life's changes persist. Don't miss the last chapter - may be the best and most important for us all!

A good compendium of background and research. The sections on integrative complementary medicine won't make science-based medicine advocates happy. But, the book is equally critical of all therapies with weak or scant evidence of efficacy.
