So this is the part were I'm supposed to talk about myself. I write so many stories but I often I have a hard time telling my own. Funny how that works.
My name is Cristina Grenier and I have been writing stories for as long as I could remember . I'm a sucker for romance. I draw from past experiences and from others around me when I write. I enjoy creating characters that everyone can relate to.
Besides writing, I also enjoy painting and figure drawing. I'm a bit of a homebody, my ideal night consists of a chilled bottle of wine, some pasta and Netflix. I really hope you enjoy the stories I create. If you want to keep updated on my new releases and frequent FREE book giveaways, please subscribe to my email group at www.cristinagrenier.com
What was up with the constant phrasing "the dark skin woman" That was so annoying to me. It took away from the reading. Everyone knows she's black.....why did you have to keep harping on it. It brought nothing to the story. Very disappointed with that
I wanted to give five stars but the author was frustrating with the description of the female character (Helena) by referring to her complexion repeatedly as if the reader was unaware of Helena's ethnicity. Also, I was frustrated with the character and how she ran away from Xavier and did not tell him that she was still pregnant, etc. Not surprising about how his parents were taking advantage of the situation. Glad that the ending was good.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
Helena & Xavier’s story continues
I didn’t like that Helena’s thoughts starts with the dark-skinned woman and then blablabla (yeah we know she’s dark-skinned!)
There was a lot of drama … The pregnancy and Helena wanted to have an abortion without telling Xavier. seriously WTF???
Xavier finding out about it ! The fighting . Helena leaving Xavier without telling him about whether she’s keeping the baby or not. Months go by without calling ect. (both were wrong for doing so because their issues would be easily resolved by communicating!) Helena assuming that she’s going to be a single mother. (I was so frustrated by this point how can Xavier help without knowing he’s going to be a father?)
The Elliot situation . >i>(don’t they check their interns credentials just saying…)
His parents and his baby sister Emily meddling with his life . (his father showing the pictures of Helena I found that rather creepy stalker much..) Brandy suddenly having a change of heart by telling Xavier about the baby. (he already knows by then)
It was just too much of everything...
The ending felt rushed to me Xavier&Helena didn’t talk much about their issues They forgave each other and blabla HEA . Yeah it just didn’t work for me!
I liked the first book better. Hopefully the 3rd book in the series is better.
I received this book as an ARC. I really enjoyed this secondary book about Xavier and Helena. However, Helena really worked my last nerve this time around. Her insecurities were just too much, she needed professional help. And I didn't like how she was planning on getting rid of the baby. And when she decided to go through with the pregnancy, she kept him in the dark for so long. As well, his conniving and stuck up parents who wanted their children to be cookie cutter clones of themselves. Xavier had the patience of a saint to deal with Helena. But I'm pleased there was an happy ever after this couple despite their troubles...
The second book in this series held true to form. We get to visit more with Xavier and Helena although Helena displays many insecurities that can cause the reader to become annoyed. The couple encounter some stumbling blocks but eventually get it together in the end. T
