USA Today Bestselling Author Demelza Carlton has always loved the ocean, but on her first snorkelling trip she found she was afraid of fish.
She has since swum with sea lions, sharks and sea cucumbers and stood on spray-drenched cliffs over a seething sea as a seven-metre cyclonic swell surged in, shattering a shipwreck below.
Sensationalist spin? No - Demelza tends to take a camera with her so she can capture and share the moment later; shipwrecks, sharks and all.
Demelza now lives in Perth, Western Australia, the shark attack capital of the world.
The Ocean's Gift series was her first foray into fiction, followed by the Nightmares trilogy. She swears the Mel Goes to Hell series ambushed her on a crowded train and wouldn't leave her alone.

Admit it, we all have pre-conceived notions of life as a rock star. The bigger the rocker, the crazier their lives must be, right? What really happens when the lights go down and the façade falls? For Jay, rocker, secret resort owner, he is a lonely man who uses women to fight of the loneliness and continue his stage personae as a wildman, sex machine. Okay, he earned the rep, but the real man wants more. But would he order an email bride and why?

Phuong had her life all laid out, get her education, use it in the family business, and then her father passed away and that dream died with him. Forced to find a husband to support her, she resorts to an online marriage site. Its business, she will get her escape from home and her foot in the door in Australia and a roof over her head. Pretty easy to say Jay was not who or what she expected, and yet…

Demelza Carlton’s THE ROCK STAR’S EMAIL ORDER BRIDE is a quirky read about love, being yourself and exposing your vulnerabilities to another. It is also about how difficult it is to be a real person and not the puppet the world bows to. Get ready to chuckle, cringe and follow along as two strangers dance around the elephant in the room and the possibilities it brings.

If you haven’t read anything by Demelza Carlton, you have no idea about the creative storms that whirl in that author’s head. She can write humor and sizzle and keep her readers guessing just where she is taking them. Did I mention she is always very entertaining?

Once again, Ms. Carlton had me from start to finish, and created characters that will keep you changing your mind, should I laugh at them, feel deeply for them or, as in Jay’s case, should I smack him up-side the head for some of his antics? A fun read for sure!

Phuong planned her life a certain way but when her father dies, her world is rocked. She needs a husband and fast. She's not looking for love, just a business arrangement. But one look at him and she wonders if being the rock star's email order bride could mean a happily ever after.

I loved this romance and the whole series, in fact. It takes place on a tropical island which is a terrific setting. Plenty of fun, flirty scenes along with twists and turns in the story. Highly recommend!

I thought at the end of the last Rock Star book that Jay was definitely not someone I’d ever like to meet. He would be the kind of star you crushed on until that moment he opened his mouth. This novel sees him in all his raw inadequacy with a touch of refreshing comedy. One of my favourite laugh-out-loud bits was when he was asked to leave and handcuffed himself to a potted palm with his fluffy pink cuffs. When nobody was looking he dragged the palm along a series of corridors to where he wanted to be anyway and stayed there all night, still handcuffed to it, despite having the key and having left a trail of dirt along his route. He’s hilarious.
This novel touches upon the very sad realities for Mail Order Brides and what life sometimes becomes for them. They end up as the prisoners of sex predators, prostituting themselves in return for citizenship or visas. It’s not until the end that the reader gets to see how well this has been set up right from the start of the first book. I understand now why I was meant to hate Jay Felix, why he bought the resort and where the series has the potential to go. There’s a neat cluster of characters now who have the potential to be more than extras and become contributing members of the cast in a series which could go on for many books to come. Well written as always and enjoyable to the last word.

Very disappointing after the first book in this series. The books surrounds 3 main characters; the chapters take turns focusing on each character which is confusing since for the first half of the book none of the characters interact with each other. I expected more from this series and was left feeling disappointed.

Roughly 50% of the book was read before I ultimately had to put it down. I just couldn't get into it with the constant change in characters. I had high hopes for Audra and Jax after the first book; I couldn't understand why the author wouldn't have continued the story with those two. And if Jax truly loved Audra, why would he want a mail order bride? None of it made any sense to me.

If you have read book one you will know about rock star Jay.

In this second book Jay has lost some of his cockiness. Whilst I was reading this book I found Jay to be a lot more entertaining.

We meet a new character in this series Phuong has all her future planned out,but this soon changes when her dad dies. To save her future she must find a rich husband quickly. She isn't interested in the romance she is purely after a business arrangement. When she hears rock star Jay is staying in a private resort in the West coast of Australia she realizes this could be the perfect set up.

So this book is one of this strange cases with the series. While book 1 left me disappointed with main male character and thinking that Jay was a man thinking ONLY with his most important part (in his opinion like he called it Rock Star in book one), but here his presence was even likeable to me - I found him a little overwhelming, but he tried he was around Phuong defences from her past brilliantly.
Phong is a woman from Singapore a country where women rather need a support of a man to live a decent life and what would she do with visa termination coming soon? She does what she needs to do to survive - she has 2 options: come back to Singapore and live with nothing or find a husband in Australia and live here with getting her master in studies. And I find her really strong even when she can seem weak at the first sight.
Jay - he was like a puppy coming back to the resort looking for Audra. But she's not there what would he do, with a wedding of his friend coming? He will start looking for a girl via Internet - Email Order Bride site particularly.
What will happen when those two meet? Will Jay manage to give Phuong happiness even with her bad memories about being together? Join them in their way in paradise.

And there is also Xan - a girl that came to the Resort looking for a job, but due to some events, she ended up as manager. I loved that she was strong and she was able to stay in front of Jay with showing him that she didn't give who he was a second thought.

I thought it was okay. I was so annoyed by Jay who couldn't have been more of a douche. I can't honestly believe anyone could be as thick skulled as this man. Not only did he drink too much, but he was sexually verbally abusive. And I thought Audra was such a strong person at first, until the very end when she gave in. I don't know if she just didn't spell it out well enough for him, but I couldn't believe she gave in. I understood her infatuation with him, being a rock star who she had been drooling over much of her life. But seriously. He was no more than a man-whore, and he wasn't about to stop his sleazy ways. She saw how he was, literally in all his glory, and she still gave in.

I thought this had the makings of a good story had the author approached it from a different direction. If he would have gotten anything from the novels he read, or if he would have realized what he had right in front of him, I think it could have been a much better story. I am, however, interested in seeing whether they manage to figure things out between the two of them. I may, somewhere down the line, check out the second book just to find out.

Although the story was fairly slow in the beginning, once the story focused on Jay, the rock star, things really got fun.

In the first book, Audra is a maid at the Romance Island Resort. When rock star Jay Felix crudely pursues her (and every other woman within his reach) Audra suggests he read romance novels. In The Rock Star’s Email Order Bride Jay has read plenty of romance novels and now is searching for a wife. Phuong is desperately looking for an Australian husband so she can stay in Australia and finish her degree in accounting. When she meets Jay online, he seems like a dream come true. Jay is sweet in this book as he tries to woo Phuong.

This book ended up being a lot of fun.

Better Than Expected

I enjoyed this book more than I expected to. I almost didn't read it but glad I accidentally got it on Kindle Unlimited and needed a quick read to clear up some space. Jay Felix is still a drunk, slutty, self involved a**hole but he had a few almost charming moments. Throwing money at everything doesn't solve everyone's problems but he continues to do so. I will read the next book in the series but only because I'm interested in what Xan digs up for Jo regarding Phuong's history. Also curious about the missing booze, etc from the resort.

This book was cringe-worthy.
You have a god-like drunk rock star.
You have a British ex-pat who wants to not go home.
You have an oriental lady who wants to finish her college education.

There's no real point and I don't think the next book even mentions the remaining questions I had...
1. Are the police still searching for Phoung?
2. Did Xan's ex-fiance get in trouble for impregnating a teenager?
3. What was in Phoung's background check?
4. It's great they could find out where the missing money went, but can they stay afloat?

Not what I expected, but good

With the way the first book left off, I was expecting more Jay and Audra. While Audra got a chapter near the beginning, that was not the case. Instead, there were two new female pov characters: Xan and Phuong. The romance in here was only with one of them and the other, while tied into the overall story and providing a nice perspective, seemed to be unnecessary. I can only guess that Jay will likely switch women again in the next book, though with the resolution in this one, I wonder what possibly is going to go wrong.

A second chance at love it life for several characters in this tale.

The rock star comes home to find the woman he left months before didn't hang around waiting for him, she got in with her life. He thought he could go on your and never once call or talk too her. Whoops. The other gal he'd had his eye on didn't wait for him either, she sent him an invite to her wedding, to someone else. So he looks online for his own fairy tale ending, but he's a bit of a wanker, and thinks he can figure out what women want him to act like from reading romance novels.

Another great book

It’s rare that I read a book from a series straight after another from the same series, but I’ve finished this one mere days after Maid for the rock star. This is building up to be a great series. I wondered how I would take it as the first book had made me practically fall in love with Audra but she was leaving…. She still features in this book and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of her. This book shows a sensitive side to Jay and also deals with the emotional scars of domestic abuse. I’m enjoying this series.

Still thinking about a proper heading

When I started this book I thought it was going to be a continuation of J and Aura but, it wasn't. I admit I checked the e-book to see if her name came up in a later chapter. Well I'm not telling you what happened. I did enjoy this book and hope it continues, I got to the end and there's another book , you know now I must get it and lets see how it ends. If it ends. If you're interested in just one book then I won't recommend but if you're like me and need or want to read more get them. Hope I enjoy the next one as much. Happy reading😁

Another highly entertaining edition of a rockstars life. This write took creative liberties with the personality of the rockstar character. He seemed very privileged, somewhat naive, and extremely spoiled, yet at the same time sweet and sincere when it came to attempting to win his mail order bride over. Albeit the naïveté of a fairytale relationship ads to the humor of this storyline. A great read to pass the weekend. This voluntary review was based against a copy given to me.

This is the first book by Demelza Carlton I have read so I really did not know what I was in for. This book is an update version of the Mail-Order-Bride that was so popular many years ago, and to some extend still happens. I did enjoy this entertaining, fun, fairly fast paced read. I am going to have to go back and read the first book in this series and play catch up. I look forward to finding out more about these characters and story line.

I enjoyed this story so much! It's a quick read with fast paced storyline. It's kind of like a soap opera in book form, reminded me of General Hospital but all the action take place a resort instead of the hospital. I've read numerous books by this author and she never fails to deliver a great story!

Great read

A great read. I personally felt like some areas of the story needed more than what was there. Parts of it moved quite quickly than they really would.
Jay is a loveable character trying to find a bride when he gets invited to a wedding. Romance Island Resort sounds amazing and I'd love to go there if I could.

Not for me

This series has great writing, engaging characters, and beautiful locations, not to mention good humor, but I'm only giving it three stars because it's just not my cup of tea. I can't get into the story of one guy going through multiple ladies. I love her fairytale series better.

I was initially confused with this book. Two females, neither who is Audra; same male from book 1; no menages. I did not realize that this series was about one male seeking his HEA. Jay becomes more likeable as he woos his wife. Too much backstory with characters not involved in the love affair. Good writing but definitely meandered with extra characters.

It's ridiculous and laughable but not in a good way.

The story was slowed down by several unnecessary POV chapters from side characters that were irrelevant.

To make matters worse, the writing is terrible. Multiple sentences were awkwardly written and some didnt make sense at all.

Just like the relationship between the lead characters, this book was poorly executed.

I could not even finish this book. I was looking forward to the entire series..got all the books at once. The first book wasn't bad, but was a bit scattered. I figured they would get better in time, nope. The second book is very unorganized, the stories do not go together and there is multiple stories happening at once.. I was very disappointed 😞

Good

This is a good book but I do have one complaint. The author used the all too familiar, and tired phrase '" She let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding" multiple times. I read that in almost every book! It must be a requirement to use it to get published!

Another easy readable book by Demelza. She never disappoints!

Jay and Phuong are two people who couldn’t be more different, or so I thought.
In the end it’s all about taking chances with your heart. Not an easy choice at all.

I received a copy and this is my honest and voluntary review

Rock Star madness

I was not sure what to expect from this book when I started reading. I have thoroughly enjoyed it as there were parts that had me in stitches. What a character is Jason and now married to Phuong.

Trouble in paradise

Jay seems to find trouble even when he is not looking for it. Making him the hardest rock star to be captured by most fan girls. Looks like he's in big time trouble. Learning a lesson never advertise for email brides.
