When Willow Spencer receives an intriguing letter from her best friend, she heads to West Virginia with only a suitcase and a lust for adventure. Agreeing to live with a man you’ve never met and be nanny to his three children is a little dangerous and a lot of crazy. In other words? Just what she needs. A wild child at heart, Willow leaves life as she knows it behind without a backwards glance. But when she arrives at the rundown trailer deep in backwoods territory and meets the rough, practically mute mountain man who seems immune to her flirtatious charm, she begins to doubt her decision and her sanity.
THIS BOOK WAS PREVIOUSLY TITLED BONED ON BLUECREEK.
This is the second novella in a planned series. It is NOT a full-length book.
(Disclaimer: this novella is for adults only. It contains explicit sex, rough sex, sex with strangers, and sexual situations some might find offensive including dubious consent.)
Moxie Darling is an erotic romance author living in the wilds of Ohio with her husband and four-legged family. She has a penchant for writing (and reading) naughty stories with a taboo twist. When she’s not making word magic, she can be found crocheting stuff, stalking Goodreads and Pinterest, or struggling to resist the siren call of her chocolate stash.
After reading the previous book in this series I had some expectations from this book. Where they meet?
And I'm not saying that in a bad way. Penetrated On Ponetown was porn but this one didn't have any sex scenes until the end of the book so if you're expecting some scandalous sex you're in for a wait.
Willow comes from the same hippy community as Clover so she has a very free and open attitude about sex. But she sure didn't know what she was getting into when she took the job to be a nanny to three children in the middle of nowhere...and everything is even harder when she starts to be attracted to Teddy, the children's father.
Teddy's wife died a few years ago but he can't move on. He's attracted to Willow but doesn't want to cheat on his wife...so he denies himself and rejects Willow.
Because this book was actually a novella (so pretty short) I couldn't really connect the way I wanted with the characters or get to know them...but all in all it was a great read and Moxie Darling has a great way of writing hot sex scenes :P

First, to all the readers who have read Moxie Darling's firstling Penetrated on Ponetown this book is different. If you thought it was missing something, Boned on Bluecreek has all of it.
I never expected that a book with so few pages could hold the whole package. Oh how wrong I was. Do you want to be proven the same? Read it! It's absolutely worth the 99ct!
That said, Boned On Bluecreek isn't pure erotica. Believe me it HAS all the good stuff, but it has drama and romance as well. I feel like the title doesn't do it justice. Although it has the typical story line of a free-minded young woman meeting a brute from the backroads there, is also hurt, mourning, loss, frustration and pent-up sexual energy. Like I said, it has it all. *sigh*
If you want a quick read about loss, mending hearts and hot sex: here you go. You can read it in half a day and you'll be SAD not mad, that it's over. A fair TW warning though
Ms. Darling, please write a full-on novel someday! You have a faithful follower. I'll be reading whatever you publish, just maybe let it be longer. please!
3.25 Rating- I don't think I liked this book as much as the first in the series but it was still an enjoyable, short read. A lot less sexy than book one. Looking forward to the third book being released. Hoping its Jim's story.

Willow was a short, intense, erotic romance. Willow is Clover's friend and both of them have a similar approach to life. Willow thinks of Teddy as a challenge but can she cope if her heart is involved? This book balanced the steamy bits with some pain, suffering and a sweet story. You want to know what happens next, how do they work things out but the length is a little frustrating. I liked both characters but wish the books were longer. I would love to see this author try a contemporary or romantic mystery.
I don't even know where to begin with this one so I guess I'll just delve right in! I laughed (in a good way), I felt like punching something (looking at you Mr. Stubborn), and I was in love all in one sitting. The characters for this book had so much depth and backstory sprinkled throughout the entire reading, making them way more believable and lovable. If you read the first book in this series, you will recognize some familiar faces as well which I thought was pretty neat and nostalgic! The book is technically short (it's a novella) but not in a way that hinders the experience whatsoever. Moxie Darling does such a wonderful job of packing so much detail and depth into her writing that the length shouldn't even be a factor when deciding to read her books! Plus, she has this incredibly unique knack for bluntness in her writing that sort of throws you for a second only to have you wanting to jump back in and indulge in so much more. More writing should be like this, although then I'd have way too much to reading to get to! I'll just have to settle for patiently awaiting more books by M. Darling. I noticed that there is a third novella for this series coming in October and definitely can't wait to get my claws, ... er hands, on it!
Teddy Barlow is a rugged and helluva good looking man in his own way. Pretty much looks like Charlie Hunnam in my mind, which is fine by me!
Willow is just perfect, there's not much to say there. She's the kind of girl I like - takes charge and knows exactly what she wants!
I definitely recommend picking this one up if you're looking for a fun and hot read! It's was only 0.99 on Amazon when I grabbed it, not too shabby at all! :)
This is the sequel in the Backroads Trilogy and can be read as a stand-alone. Having read the first novel in this series by Moxie Darling, I was expecting this one to be full of out of the box steamy scenes and a light romance. I was dead wrong. Though this sequel had a handful of kinky scenes there was a back story behind them that tugged on my heart strings.
We meet Willow who has been hired by single father Teddy to care for his children. She has a connection to Clover from the first book and I really liked how their friendship was portrayed in this novel. Like Clover, Willow is very free with sex and easy-going though not as into a three way relationship was her friend.
Teddy’s welcome to Willow is less than kind, and we quickly find him to be brooding and silent; not an easy man to get along with. The attraction is almost instant and so well written you immediately get the feeling it could be more than just sex with the two characters.
There are moments that had me smiling (any moment with the well written exceptional children) and there are moments that had me want to tear my hair out (any moment where Teddy denies his feelings).
Again Moxie Darling managed to write a quick, steamy read with an in-depth dramatic love story that had you begging for more by the last page. I seriously wish it was longer and I CANNOT wait for the third in this series!
I received this Novella from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Ok, so it's no secret i am a huge fan of Moxie Darling and her deliciously detailed, dirty novella's, so obviously going into this i was expecting smut, a story in the background, but mostly smut (definitely not something that bothers me because i didn't start reading these expecting to get lengthy, angsty drawn out romance). Also there isn't as much sex in Willow in comparison to Clover, but the sex in this was possibly even HOTTER!!
So now onto the story: Willow the female heroine (Clover's friend, which FYI if you haven't read, go read this instant) and a rugged single dad named Teddy. Willow is going to the family to fill a roll similar as a nanny/teacher. Teddy wants nothing to do with Willow, but Willow is definitely open to the idea ;) They argue back and forth, there is some inappropriate but deliciously sexual touches, and some jealously. Similar to Clover there is a taboo of sorts but it didn't bother me too much, but then again, that circumstance isn't a sensitive topic for me.
It is a Novella, so it starts and finishes quick, but definitely worth it if you want a sexual tension build up, with a smutty ending. Willow was a great smut novella with a good story and i will continue to read Moxie darling, the woman knows how to write some sex!
This was a short quick that was just what I needed this is the second book in this series. Willow Spencer decided that she needed an adventure so she headed to the hills of West Virginia to live with a man that she has never met to be a nanny for his three kids her friend Clover from the first book told her about the job and she jumped at the chance to leave the hippie commune that she and Clover grew up in. When she first met Teddy Barlow I didn't like him much and I thought he was rude. Teddy was looking for some help taking care of his kids and Willow saw him as a challenge to her. Willow likes sex and she was jealous that her friend was getting it from two men. I liked how the kids took to her. The first time she tried to seduce him didn't go her way I think she didn't realize how broken he was over his wife death. This book was not as hot as the first one in the sex scene department, but it still was a pretty good read. The book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
****I received a copy of this novella in exchange for a fair review***** While I only gave book one in this series 3.5 stars I am happily giving book two 4.5 stars!!! I wish that the characters and story were a little more developed as I could see this being a short novel not just a novella. I love the story line about life in the back woods. I also love the stubborn woman trying to fix the broken man. While the kink in book one did not work for me book two defiantly made me hot and bothered! I would recommend Moxie's books to any one looking for a quick hot read. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of book three!!!
This is the first book I've read by this author. I really enjoyed this read. Even though it's a novella it's a complete story.
Willow is a free spirit. She takes on a job as live in childminder to three kids. She finds herself attracted to the father. However is he too broken to see what's in front of him?
Great quick read. Looking forward to reading more of this series.
Another short, hot and steamy read from Moxie Darling.
If you have read the first one in this series, Penetrated On Ponetown, than you will know first hand how hot Moxie's scenes can be. This story is about Willow and Teddy. Willow has left the commune to be a nanny in the middle of no where for Teddy's 3 children. The kids are all homeschooled and their mother has passed away.
Teddy is not the most affectionate father in the world and the kids seem to be not only lacking happiness and laughter but also affection and love. Teddy loves his kids, but after the death of his wife he seems to have trouble showing it.
Willow is very free spirited and encourages the children to be children. Playing and laughing like normal kids do. She also tries to brighten Teddy's life but he isn't as easy to engage as the children.
Join these two as they both learn that love is not a bad thing to feel.
I really enjoyed this short but sweet story of blooming love. Plus, I got a bonus of seeing a little more Clover from book 1. Willow made the widower come out of his shell and brightened the lives of 3 children while finding love. And it's spicy too!
I won this book in a FB event a couple years ago and just now got around to reading it. Not bad as sequels go, more feels and emotions in this one than the first one. Good sex, however, this one was written more for the relationship than the sex. Enjoy!
THIS REVIEW IS FOR BOTH 'BONED ON BLUECREEK' AND 'PENETRATED ON PONETOWN
‘Penetrated on Ponetown’ and ‘Boned on Bluecreek’ are two erotic novellas by Moxie Darling. I don’t usually read anything in this genre, but Moxie was kind enough to send me e-copies of her novellas to read and review.
‘Penetrated on Ponetown’ begins with Clover Willoughby, a girl in her twenties, travelling on the back roads of West Virginia trying to find the Barlow’s house to teach Mr Barlow’s three young children to read as part of her library’s Rural Literacy Outreach program. But Clover soon finds herself out of gas in the middle of nowhere. She sets out on foot to try and find some signs of civilisation, and after a mile and a half she comes across a long, winding driveway which leads to a small cabin. Unfortunately the men who live there, Jim and his son Eustace, don’t have any electricity, so no phone for her to call for help, but do have gas for her car. They aren’t interested in conventional payment, however. They want Clover. Jim especially wants her for his son, who has never been with a woman. Clover, being from a hippie commune, in unabashed by sex and agrees to stay with them for a week, pleasuring both men. But she begins to develop feelings for the young, awkward Eustace and isn’t sure she’ll want to leave once the week is up…
‘Boned on Bluecreek’ takes place a little while after. Clover’s friend, Willow Spencer, is driving to her new workplace where she is to be nanny to the widowed Teddy Barlow’s three children. Upon arriving she sees that the Barlow’s house is little more than an old trailer in a state of disrepair. Teddy, a mechanic, isn’t Willow’s usual type but when she meets him she is very taken with his rough exterior and intimidating personality. Willow decides to make it her mission to help Teddy get over his late wife by offering her body to him. Teddy is rather reluctant however, but the more time she spends with him, Willow whittles him down and gets to know the man underneath the cold exterior.
As I mentioned before, I don’t normally read this genre so I didn’t really know that to expect (other than the obvious!) I have to say though that I really enjoyed both stories!
These novellas very well written and I found myself well and truly wrapped up in the stories of these two young girls. Clover and Willow were very interesting characters, both coming from a hippie commune they were very free with their bodies, but what I found most interesting was how they came to really care for the men and even fall in love.
Both books were very good, quick reads for adults and I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun summer read. Thank you Moxie :)
I had mixed feeling after reading the second installment of the Back Roads , Boned On Bluecreek. While I enjoyed the story I also felt there could have been more. More pages, more of that mmm lip biting goodness that hooked me while reading Penetrated On Ponetown.
So it would seem that hippie girls have a thing for bearded guy in BFM. I’m not sure I see the appeal, but I may just need some extra time. Bored with her current situation Willow accepts an to help a widower maintain his home and care for his children.
Willow comes from the same community as Clover whom we met in POP. Willow has a very free and loves to be love. I’m sure this girl has never met a man that she couldn’t get under until she met Teddy, who’s still mourning the loss of his wife and mother of his children. The memory of her still has a strong hold on him preventing him from moving on. His loyality to his deceased wife kinda of made it difficult for him to even be polite to Willow, at time I felt bad for her.
Of course it didn’t take long for hormones to rage, tt should go without saying that the attraction factor was definitely already there. While Teddy gave his all to maintain his distance from Willow, it only took the thought of another possibly having her to give him that jealousy itch.
Again as the relationship was starting to built and things were really starting to get good the story was over. I honestly believe this one could have been a few chapters and would have been a n amazing read. Despite the quick pages,Moxie Darling still managed to created another steamy read that should be savored.
Boned on Bluecreek is the second book in the series. This book can be read as a stand alone. There is a follow up or insight on Clover and her men, Eustace and Jim.
Willow Spencer decides to go to West Virginia to visit her friend, Clover, after receives a letter from her. Clover has been living in the backwoods and asked Willow to come there. Willow will be working as a nanny for a widow with three children. She is a hippy / wild child with a free love attitude. Willow is instantly attracted to Teddy.
Teddy is still reeling from the death of his wife and not sure how to interact with Willow or his children. Teddy doesn't really talk and is very standoffish to Willow. She tries to get his attention without much success, until she looks to another for some sexual attention. Teddy doesn't like that very much, and things change between them after that.
Willow is a woman who just wants to be loved for who she is. Teddy is a man who is not sure how to move on with his life. These two help each other grow and change in positive ways. They both discover the other person's sensitive side and vulnerability. Teddy and Willow each had fears and doubts, but they accepted the other for who they were (flaws and all).
This story still has the extremely, steamy sexual scenes and expletive language like the previous book, but it is so much more. This is a more complete story, in my opinion. This book has romance with a happily ever after. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I loved Willow and Teddy together. I loved that you got to know and understand the characters more. I loved "The Band-Aids" and "A Well-Read Book" concept or analysis. I have many favorite quotes, too many to list. One of my favorite quotes is: "You Kiss me like you're on fire." "Because you make me burn."
**I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is my honest and unbiased review.**
Arc provided for an honest review. Ok wow, that's my first thought, the next is I enjoyed this book so much I read it without putting it down. The concept of free loving women taking roles to help in less privileged places is great. Willow is off to become a nanny to 3 kids in need of a woman's touch. The job was brought to her attention by Clover, her best friend who took on her own adventure in the first book. Willows first impressions of Teddy are mixed, he seems closed off and she makes it her job to open him up aswell as taking care of his kids and home a job she excels at. Is Teddy really that cold or is he just in need of the right woman? I love the idea of these women coming from a commune of free loving spirits, it's very taboo even in this day and age but the concept interests me and I love that an author is prepared to take this on. The story and plot are great, for such a short read, you didn't feel like you missed something. There was enough history so you could invest in the characters. I loved that the initial characters are in this story and that Willow and Clover are close. Willows relationship with the kids is so cute, you can't help but wonder how they would react to her relationship with their father. Teddy is an interesting character closed off by hurt, Willow is perfect for him. The writing is great, and the descriptions relevant but not over the top. The sex scenes are hot, and rough in times, but the romance level is very sweet. Overall I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next in the series. Would recommend.
This is a beautiful short read emotional story of Willow who took a job as a live-in nanny for Teddy (a father of 3 kids). She got paid almost next to nothing but she did it for a change of life and explore around a bit which is hard for me to understand giving the fact that she has to dedicate her almost entire time taking care of the house and the kids... so for me i didnt fully understand her character, its not like she was being paid enough to save and travel around after.... but the story has powerful emotions of Teddy letting go of his ex wife and move on.... I liked Teddy character, he's a very hard working man "He didn’t look good. He looked like a man who’d had to bleed, sweat, and grit teeth for everything he’d ever had. He looked real. And to her, that was beautiful" I always admire that in a man... In this book we also get a chance to catch up with Clover from the pervious book which was great... so why 3 stars.... well I have to be honest, Moxie Darling is gifted when it comes to writing hox sex scenes and for me in this book I felt it could've done a lot better... like her pervious book had unforgettable sex scenes but this one felt a bit cold to me. yes I know I like the dirty details way too much I guess but the book was awesome... looking forward to read more books from this author. Cheers *A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*
Clover Willoughby was headed to Bluecreek, WV. Her original job was to home-school Teddy Barlow (widower, mechanic) 3 kids: Jason Barlow (8, twin), Travis Barlow (8, twin), & Melinda Barlow (6, daughter).
Turns out she is also the nanny. The wife/mother Sarah Barlow had died of an Aneurysm. Clover stayed with Jim & Eustace (Jim’s son) in their cabin. Fast forward Willow Spencer (Clove’s BFF) came to visit.
What will happen in the lives of Clover & Teddy?
Warning: This book is for adults only & contains extreme violence, adult content or expletive language &/or sexually explicit scenarios. It may be offensive to some readers.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written erotic novella book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of very unique/colorful characters to keep track of. Kind of had a Hillbilly twang to it. This could also make another great mild erotic movie, or paid-per-view mini TV series. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

I was given a copy of the book for an honest review, with that being said, here is my review.
Willow Spencer decides to go to West Virginia to visit her friend Clover. Clover has been living in West Virginia, she asked Willow to come there and work as a nanny for Teddy. He is a widower and has 3 children.
Teddy is still reeling from the death of his wife. He has shut himself off from the world, not sure how to interact with Willow or his children. Teddy doesn't really talk, he is content with walking around being broody and moody. He is basically going through the motions of daily living.
Willow is a hippy who was raise to believe sex is a beautiful and natural thing between consenting adults. She tries several times to get his attention without much success, well, at least until she focuses on another willing person for attention.
Willow is a woman who just wants to be loved and is not used to being rejected by men. Teddy is a man who is not sure how to move on with his life after the death of his wife. Together they will both discover the wants and needs of the other, both has doubts, but they accepted them as well.
The book is full of steaming romance and well lets face it, explicit language. I'm glad I was one of the lucky ones who received this book for an honest review.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Willow, an old friend of Clover’s, decides to take an adventure to West Virginia with just a suitcase and a used car. Her adventure begins with the promise to become a live in nanny for a widower and his three children who live nearby Clover and her two men. However, things do not go as plan once she arrives. Teddy is a man of very little words who is rough and seemingly disinterested in her advances.
The second installment of this series of novellas does not disappoint. In fact, if you were not interested in the classic erotica that was Clover, you might be interested in this one because it is emotionally driven. Willow is forced to take a look at herself after Teddy continues to turn down her advances. It is here that she learns that everyone moves at a difference pace. She knows that Teddy is interested, but she becomes painfully aware that the timing is not right. Teddy is also forced to look at himself and his roughness. He feels as if he’s cheating on his late wife by even entertaining the idea of moving on, but he’s also rough and mean about it. Together, the pair moves forward after communicating with one another, which make it a union full of trust, lust, and emotion. This is definitely up your alley if you are someone who is looking for a plot driven erotica.
While the first book in this series is pure sex, Willow is more than that. Willow is a friend of Clover’s and agrees to become the nanny for a widower and his three kids. The pay isn’t much, but Willow is bored on the hippy commune and needs a change. One of those changes is a new man/conquest. Willow loves sex and no man can resist her charms. She gets to the trailer and meets Teddy – a loner who shut down after his wife’s death. She puts the moves on him and even though he notices her, he resists and turns her away. Willow has her work cut out for her, both with the kids, cleaning the trailer, and Teddy still resists her advances. Until he becomes jealous while they are all at Clover’s for a campout with the kids. Teddy walks in on Jim and Willow about to have sex and demands she go home…with him. On the way home, something happens to change the dynamic of their relationship. I have to say that I enjoyed this story so much more than Clover. While it is erotica, there is more to the story than just sex. The steamy parts are just that, the funny parts made me laugh out loud, and the angst was well written. Overall, this is a good, short, steamy, sexy, story.

I read this when it was still called Boned on Bluecreek, do this is just a copy of my original review. You think you know what to expect from new writers - especially in erotica - and then you find gems like the Back Roads series. This second adventure down the back roads is completely different.
I received this in return for a fair review and I can honestly say that I would have paid for it. Yet again, it is a well edited product by an indie author who takes time and pride in her work. The characters are well written and their back stories believable.
Willow is free-spirited and loves sex, not just the spiritual coupling like in their hippie commune, but fun sex, adventurous sex, lustful temptation-filled sex. Especially if she had to work for it - or, more likely, made the man work for it... Being a nanny to 3 delightful children and dealing with their stoic, monosyllabic father is a challenge she didn't quite expect. And not quite what you would expect either. If, like me, you expected sex like that in Clover's story, you're in for a surprise. Clover, Jim and Eustace do make an appearance in this adventure - just to spice things up a little!
Willow's story is nothing like Clover's and made me cry. I hope you will too.

This story is about Teddy and Willow.
Teddy is a brooding, handsome-in-his-own way widower who's having a hard time moving on from the death of his wife. He's also an unaffectionate father to his children because of the hurt he feels from grieving. Willow is a stay-in nanny for Teddy's three children that is paid almost next to nothing. She also grew up in a hippie commune, same as Clover, so of course, she is also free spirited and loves to have sex whenever she wants. The kids adore her because she encourages them to be more expressive and to tell what they're thinking and is always sweet to them.
For me, there's more story to this than the first novella, and the characters are more appealing. But it's also more tame than the first novella, Penetrated On Ponetown. I just wish there's a little bit more about how Willow interact with Teddy's children, cause I find their bickering really amusing.
If you want more on the taboo side, Penetrated On Ponetown is the way to go. But you still won't regret reading Boned On Bluecreek.
Another great installment written by this author , however I found this one not as raunchy as the last. BUT DON'T DISMAY !
Being a romantic at heart, this one suited me to a tee. I enjoyed the sweetness of the romance, the anticipation and wandering if the hard ass mountain man would bend his ways , against Willow's advances.
This story took at little for the sexy, dirty , hot stuff to start, But don't dismay it comes ! ** haha **
Willow Spencer is an interesting character, filled to the brim with character and a lot like the Clover from the last book. Willow embarks on an adventure, of all sorts. Packs her bags and ventures into the mountains. A wild child at heart, Willow certainly gets more then she bargin's for.
Teddy is a hard ass mountain man still dwelling on his past. He is gruff and standoffish but in time Willow shows him that life goes on.
This story will certain quench your thirst for romance, and pacify the sexy stuff we thirst for.
This author amazes me how much detail she puts into such a short erotic novel. I don't feel I have missed anything out and continue to look forward to more of her writing.
Enticing, sweet and Delicatable.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Warning, this novella is definitely not similar to the previous one, Penetrated On Ponetown. POP was very sexual and all the characters engaged in it. This was different, there was only foreplay until the very end. Do not expect the same when reading.
The main heroine is Willow, Clover's friend. Clover recommend Willow to become the nanny of the Barlow children and Clover took the job to experience something new and go on an adventure. Fifty percent of the book is Clover trying to get into Teddy Barlow's pants. If you want to know whether or not she succeeds, you need to read the novella.
Boned On Bluecreek lacked the uniqueness/creativity that POP had. It is definitely a short, good read but the plot/storyline is very common for this type of novella. I wish Moxie develop Teddy as a character more besides just the fact that his wife died and he still loves her. She left out and didn't solve the issue of the distance between Teddy and his kids.
Willow is just a carefree woman who loves living life...no matter which direction it takes her. She is very open-hearted and loves easily. Teddy is quite the opposite, quiet, rugged, and lonely...mourning his wife who passed and raising his three children, he is the man of few words and stern expression. When Willow comes into his life, it's a much needed, yet unsure, breath of fresh air...just what this family needs. However his constant state of quiet aloof-ness and abrupt behavior may be just too much for Willow to handle. When push comes to shove, they may be just exactly what the other one needs...but nothing in life comes easy and without heartache.
I loved how the story continued on from Penetrated On Ponetown and we get to see how Clover and her men are doing as well. I really enjoyed the community the series is laying out and look forward to more Mountain adventures to come!! Fun, Sexy, Sassy Women and their Alpha Mountain Men!
