I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, it is so different from anything else I have read, it is flawlessly delivered, and I am sad to see the series brought to a conclusion. This is the third book in the series and you really do need to read the first two books to understand the story.
At the end of the last book we left Jane devastated at the realisation that her partner and friend was not who she thought he was and on her way to undertake another mindrun to try and find answers the questions as to who Rory was. However, Rory was as gifted in this area as Jane and when she enters his mind space the answers continue to evade her and more questions arise. Jane comes out of this mindrun feeling confused and questioning those closest to her but are things as they seem or did Rory just plant the seeds of doubt. Once again the author delivers a brilliant story that leaves you feeling like you are in a hall of mirrors and every turn and twist bring new questions.
As Jane begins to look for answers she slowly unravels a web of lies that is her life and who she really is, with devastating consequences especially for her relationship with Dash, just as they seemed to be moving towards marriage. Jane returns to her career and along the way learns the truth to many secrets and sets out to get justification for personal wrongs and to forgive Dash for his involvement as the two finally get their HEA together.
A fantastic series from an author that is now a firm favourite of mine.

A mind runner’s journey…

This is the third and final book in the Blood and Bone series that should be read in series order, this book continues and builds on events that occurred previously and provides another thrilling ride and a most satisfactory resolution to everything.

Our heroine, Jane Spears, never expected that she’d be doing a mind run into her current subjects’ subconscious, her own colleague and a proven sociopath. She’s in the mind run of a mind runner and she’s met her match as he turns the tables on her and she can’t readily find her way out of his psyche. It takes every mind trick she can imagine, every bit of inner strength, to exit the nightmare the run has become but not without lingering consequences. There are repercussions to too many mind runs and Jane has maxed out her trips. When the subject knows things about yourself that you don’t know you’re left wondering afterwards about the truths of what you’ve known and you seek answers. Jane is like a dog with the scent of a buried bone, she won’t stop until she uncovers it and we the readers follow her on the journey of a lifetime.

The author has given us another mindf*ck of a read with a wickedly complex plot and awesome devious twists that personally impact the heroine but if anyone could handle what was thrown her way it would be Jane. She finally unravels the clues within her psyche that have always been there and that were her own to find deep within the labyrinth that is her mind. So many secrets were kept from her by not just her own mind but by the one who loved her for so long. There comes a time when you have to face your truths to move forward in life no matter how horrid they might be. This was a great story, a journey of discovery and acceptance not to mention some necessary payback. Jane is one hell of a kick-ass heroine, her fiancé the most loyal lover a woman could have for Dash has always been there for her.

This book was the perfect ending to the series and also a wonderful beginning for Jane Spears as she starts out her married life with the wedding of all weddings.

The author, Tara Brown, has a remarkable insidious imagination. She created an amazing series that kept this reader enraptured from page one of the first book with non-stop action and suspense, and intricate incredible mysteries to be solved with the added psychological factor of the mind runs. The main characters were compelling, well developed with emotional depth, the villains so seriously evil. This reader is looking forward to what the author comes up with next.

For the final book in the series the author throws some even bigger surprises at us in what has been a total mind bending series.

Jane Spears has been a spy for the United Nations, a Major Sergeant and now a criminal profiler for a secret UN project that requires her to go inside the minds of the victims to learn about the killer.  These are called Mind Runs. The program consisted of her fiancé Dash and her friend Angie and her partner in the mind runs Rory. Some very shocking revelations were found out about Rory at the end of Sin and Swoon.

In some ways I was a little disappointed where that thread went in this book but to make up for that the author shocked us with finally giving us the truth about Jane's past and the biggest shock was who had been a part of it.

This final story in the saga about Jane's life wrapped up so many treads from the previous books along with many more we didnt even know existed. It was a crazy ride and a unique story that I'd not read before.

The last of this series really brings everything to a close. This isn't a series that you can pick up from anywhere, it must be read in order. Jane does these mind runs inside the heads of victims or suspects, they are in a coma while she explores the mind for clues. It's quite complicated and Brown does a wonderful job of making it make sense. This last book has Jane in the mind of her partner, Rory, trying to learn how he came to be involved with human trafficking and prostitution. While she is wrapping her brain about that situation she is dealing with her future mother-in-law and her wedding to Dash. Some of those scenes are quite comical and very normal, so unlike Jane. The books are intense and edgy keeping me on glued to the pages for hours. I could honestly see this series made into a movie, it flows very smoothly. My review copy was given through Netgalley.

"Tell me about the swans, the way the swans circle the stars and shoot across the sky. Tell me about the angels, the angels in your heart that remind you of the beauty in a day."

Third book in The Blood and Bone series. While Sin and Swoon can be read as a standalone, Soul and Blade can not! It's the conclusion of a great mind fuck, staring Jane, the mind runner.
You get to find out about the 'whos', the 'wheres' and the 'whys'. You get all the details and explanations.

Tara Brown is by far one of my favourite authors. Her mind is twisted but golden and I love all of it!!!!

This story stayed true to the rest of the series with mind bending twists and questions of loyalty. Jane never had an easy life and finding out the truth about herself was just as hard to swallow as the lies. But without giving anything away I will say that I was very happy with the ending.

What a mind trip!!

Wow! I finished and ARC of this book from Netgalley about a week ago and I needed time wrap my head around this chilling conclusion before formulating the right words for my review. Even with time passed, I don't think I can do this justice.

Tara is one of those Authors that scare me and thrill me all at the same time. I'm scared of what her twisted mind will throw at us next but I have this unhealthy obsession to read everything she writes.

Her wickedly genius mind makes for the best reads I have ever had the privledge of reading. They stay with you long after you finished the last page and Soul and Blade delivered every delicious thing I love about her books.

That 'WTF did I just read' that you think after reading something that toys with your mind and leaves you second guessing everything you just read and has shocked the heck out of you.... yea, that's this series.

If you haven't read any of them, you are missing out on an Epic Tale, one full of mystery, danger, love and a psychotic killer who holds the herione captive in his mind and has her second guessing who she is and everything she knows about herself. It is so intricately woven with layer upon layer of mysteries, that it will even have you second guessing your own sanity.

**If you haven't read Blood and Bone or Sin and Swoon...stop right here and go read them! My review *may* contain spoilers if you havne't read the first two in this series**

Jane has lived a dozen lives. Jane becomes the victims. Jane finds killers. Jane has secrets. Jane had secrets kept from her. Jane is a mind runner. And she is tired of being f*cked with.

She knows what she must do, delve deep into the mind of her former partner who just may be the worst mind run she has ever done. She knows the things that he has done, she's lived it through one of his victims, now she must live it through his perspective. Only something goes wrong. Jane is no longer in control, help captive by the worst monster she has come across, she starts to question her own sanity and her triggers are not working. She is no longer in control of the mind run, Rory has taken over and he is about to show her things she never knew about herself. But can he be trusted? Can she trust her own memories or those of a demented killer? Putting her life, career and sanity on the line, Jane is determined to do what needs to be done.

Soul and Blade Tara Brown 3 Stars

An incredible concept for a book.

I have never read any of Tara Brown’s books and I started this one with a completely clean slate. After about 6 chapters I was completely confused as to what the main character Jane Spears was actually doing and indeed was she really Jane Spears or Samantha. She is living with her boyfriend Derek or is he Benjamin Dash, she meets a police officer, Rory who tells her that her boyfriend is evil and that she has amnesia and has had a previous existence which she has forgotten. Is this true or is Rory the evil character?

At this point I decided to go back and read the previous two books in the series and I am glad l did. Although all three books have incredible twists and turns the explanation of what has happened almost resolves itself and the stories are both intricate but very readable.

The plots all revolve around the memory stimulation experiments that Dr Benjamin Dash, Jane’s fiancé by the third book, is engaged in. A direct quote from the novel ‘Memory stimulation and the induction of psychosis in a person through false-memory stimulation’ helps to make the reader understand what Jane is subjected to on a regular basis. She enters other people’s memories and discovers things from her past and the person whose memories she is enacting. However, it is often quite impossible to know what is real and what is fabrication.

I found by reading all three books one after the other I worked out the plot although you are still left with a doubt as to what was real. I enjoyed the writing style of the author and read the books very quickly, as I said in my title the concept of being immersed in peoples’ memories was quite innovative to me and very cleverly described.

I have given this book 3 stars because I think the author has overcomplicated the plot, there were too many twists and turns that become confusing and could put many readers off persevering to the end. I deducted a further star because there are too many gratuitous sex scenes for my liking. They didn’t really bother me but they just seemed to appear with monotonous regularity and didn’t really add anything to the story.

I was so anxious to get my hands on this book, the final of the Blood and Bone trilogy. Yes, it was bittersweet because I knew it would be the end, no more Dash to make me melt and swoon and wave my pompoms for him.

Remember what you've read about in book 1 & 2? Forget about all of that. This one's a seriously mind-twister; Tara Brown once again manages to make me doubt everything and everyone, including events from the previous books.

The last hurrah is also the most dangerous. It can make or break our heroine, Jane. She could either gain or lose everything. Yes, I'm keeping it vague because I don't want to spoil it for anyone, plus you should read it because it's awesome. Don't really need a more valid reason than that.

And can I say how much I ADORE Dash? Seriously, he made me melt, sigh, and he broke my heart.

"Just so you know, I am on your side." He leans back in, kissing my nose. "I have always been on your side."

It's unbelievable how well Ms. Brown has weaved this story. I will reread these books many times and I'll get them as paperbacks, to sit prettily on my shelf. Then, when I feel the need for a dose of Dash, I just grab one of the three books and voila!

So yes. Loved it! Definitely the best of all three! 5+++ stars.

Book 3 of the series Blood and Bone.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series as there were so many intriguing aspects of the mind runner story where you didn’t really know what was going on. They were brilliant!

This 3rd book has a different approach where Jane is on a mind run into Rory’s mind. This is different because not only is Rory a criminal, but a former partner and also a trained mind runner. He is able to control Jane’s mind during the run and he can prevent her from leaving his mind by leading her to traps he has laid. This story is intriguing again, but unfortunately it was not quite as awesome as the first two books. A bunch of the book focuses on Jane’s marriage to Dash. There is the whole MIL issue who really dislikes Jane ad is determined to make her miserable. But then Jane learns that Dash may have kept secrets from her which destroy her faith in him and leaves her without anyone to trust.

Overall I enjoyed the stories, but to really get it you MUST read them in order.

This was amazing. I was leery to read book 2 and continue with the series after I finished book 1. I thought it would all be predicable and boring. Boy was I wrong. There are so many twists and turns and then there are a lot of shocking revaluations. I loved it all even the angst!!!!! I was so sad it ended.

This series should be made into a movie. The narrator did a great job. My only issue with the story was -

To Tara Brown: I would love one or two chapters with Dash's POV. I hate dual POVs so I was happy that this was written in just Jane's POV, but I love when an author writes a "bonus" chapter with the male POV.

I LOVED THIS SERIES!! It's definitely out of my usual reading zone but I really loved it. It is full of twists and turns, awesome strong female characters, as well as sexy strong male characters. Tara really is a genius when it comes the level of crazy in this book and the way she keeps you wanting more regardless of said craziness. There are no cliffhangers but there is a HEA. Although there are sweet contemporary romance parts there are some serious hardcore not so romantic parts also. Keep in mind the description of this book/series when you go to read this because there are some seriously shocking parts. That being said if you can dig this type of genre you will LOVE this series!!!

This book was the perfect ending to an exceptionally fantastic trilogy. Five glittery stars for this book and the trilogy as a whole. The book had plenty of twists and turns, like the other two. However, it had evolved into a different type of suspense plot. The story took a lot of questions from the previous two books and wove them together. We got all the answers to all the mysteries. I was extremely satisfied with how everything unraveled. The Blood and Bone Trilogy is a must read for any mystery/suspense lover.

I'm actually sad this fantastic series has come to an end. I've been listening to the audio (mostly) and it has really made my journeys to and from work very enjoyable (although the Irish and Scottish accents need a bit of work...sorry!!)
It's definitely on the dark side of suspense, but I've loved the twists and turns, but be warned there are dark and gruesome bits not for the faint hearted. Just when I thought all was going well for Jayne and the gorgeous Dr Dash, the author threw a hell of a spanner in the works!

This book and this series has kept me intrigued all the way through, the characters, especially Jayne have grown and developed, but never compromised. They stayed true to themselves and I loved it. 5 stars

Meet the once and future Jane Spears, um Townsend. The third book in the series is a nice wrap up to the story as a whole. This is one of those books that must be read as a whole story, the first book is just as important as the last. These are difficult to review without giving away a plot point, and the surprises and epiphanies should be experienced by the reader. If you like romance novels with a touch if sci-fi this is for you.

OH MY GOSH! What an incredible ending to an incredible series. So sad that it has come to an end. I can't wait to read more Tara Brown. And if you get the chance to listen to the narrator through Audible, Amy Johnson, she is especially incredible. I can't wait to hear her again, either. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, all around!

BLUF: Satisfying wrap up to a trilogy. (Not a standalone.)

**I was provided a copy of this book from netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review**

The concept of this series is amazing. Jane Spears, a former spy, assassin, and master sergeant, is a mind runner. She enters the minds of victims and criminals in order to gain information needed in the real world. It’s an emotional job and coming out of a run creates uncertainty in the runner about what is real and what was in the mind. As if this isn’t stressful enough, Jane is being swept into a royal wedding – her wedding – to a man whose wealth and social status intimidates her.

I saw this book and its’ description on NetGalley and I just had to read it. I didn’t realize this was a trilogy until reading the “Acknowledgements” section at the end (d’oh!).

The relationships in this book are well done, and as complicated as they are in life. The only relationship I thought was off was the one between Jane and Dash. I don’t understand their relationship at all, which leads me to believe that there are some major events I missed from the first two books.

The mind running performed in this book is (what I assume) a continuation from the second book. It’s entertaining, but there are no new cases introduced, criminals put away, or cases solved.

Overall, this book is the completion to a trilogy, not the standalone I mistook it for. It seems to wrap up the series in a fulfilling way, but I couldn’t fall in love with the action or characters without reading the first two books.
