She yawned, her eyes watering as she gazed up at me with such innocence, such trust that it felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. I felt that look, really felt it, in my soul. I wanted to be deserving of that look.
And I wanted it directed at me every day.
Every freaking day.
This is the third installment in the Consequence series, but can be read as a standalone. Each book centers around a different person within a closely knit circle of friends, and their love interest. Reid Emory is older brother to Max, and an up and coming Hollywood star. He’s drop dead gorgeous and has never had to work hard to get a woman in his bed. He’s also never really had the desire to have a meaningful relationship until it seems he is just about the last member of his friends, including his younger brother, to be single. He wonders if maybe he’s missing out on something.
Jordan Litwright is a very successful publicist who knows what it takes to make her clients, Hollywood A-Listers. She loves her job and that it enables her to afford the high end shoes and wardrobe she’s become accustomed to wearing. But Jordan is what you consider a plain jane. She is literally invisible to the outside world and in a way she gets comfort from this since she doesn’t like being the center of attention. She’s also not very lucky in the love department. Men who usually pay any attention to her, turn out to be gay and are only interested in where she bought her designer shoes.
One night Reid and Jordan meet at a bar. Reid is actually attracted to Jordan, but she ends up thinking he’s gay because in her mind, there’s no possible way someone as gorgeous as Reid could be remotely interested in her. Luckily, the following morning, their paths will cross again, when Reid ends up becoming her newest client. Her job is to launch Reid into super stardom.
Right off the bat, these two start bickering and you just know that once the sparks fly between them, the chemistry is going to be off the charts HOT!! I loved all the banter and just how much they both were so attracted to each other but too dense to see it. Max, was quite the scene stealer. He brought forth so much of the comic relief, at times I wondered if he was a main character rather than a secondary one. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked him and since Reid and Jordan needed so much intervention to make sure they found their way to each other, I understood why his presence was so dominant in this story.
I really loved that this was not just another story about two physically beautiful people falling in love. Jordan was a down to earth woman, with curves and a physical appearance that was considered average as opposed to Goddess like, and I found it refreshing. She was a very lovable heroine and her insecurities and nervous eye twitching tick were endearing. Reid was an extremely charming and swoon worthy hero. He had my heart the second he saw beyond Jordan’s frizzy hair and coffee stained blouses, and recognized her for the true beauty that she was.
I had several laugh out moments and felt like I was watching a really funny Sandra Bullock Rom Com while reading this story!! I recommend this one if you’re in the mood for a light hearted romance with just the right amount of angst.

Happy Book Birthday
A hold your belly because it’s going to hurt from laughing, hilarious, sweet and sexy romance! A must read romantic comedy I didn’t want to put down or to ever end.
Reid Emory is Hollywood’s next up and coming sensation. His actor status and killer smile should be all he needs in the dating department. But after his unfortunate run-in with “grandma,” he seems to be in a slump. That’s ok for now since he needs to focus on his new movie and image. His brother Max though, will go to extremes assist Reid finding love and his new publicist is the only one who can help with both his job and his love life.
“Note to self: don't look directly in his eyes for fear that clothes will spontaneously pull themselves off my body.”
Jordan Litwright has been invisible her entire life, which works perfectly in her line of work. As a successful publicist her clients take center stage while she works her magic behind the scenes. But having Reid Emory as a client has put a jinx on her life in general. From spilled food all over her, to having to fake date the man, her life has turned on its axis. Even her invisibility appears to have faded because when Reid turns to look at her, he sees everything about her.

But can she trust him and a bond developed from a bogus relationship to have the staying power when he his career skyrockets?
This book surprised me in the best possible way. I certainly laughed while reading the previous books in this series and have loved others by Ms. Van Dyken. I knew I would get a great read from the skilled author but I don’t remember grinning and laughing so hard before. I loved Jordan and Reid and adored the plotting, maniacal Max who very nearly stole the book’s thunder.
Yes, Max the incorrigible charmer who wants to take over the world, at the very least the presidency decided to play at cupid while there’s a vacancy at the White House.
“Think thirty years from now, when he runs for president, that will be his tagline – ‘It’s easier to let Max rule’?”
It really doesn’t matter though because the mix between supporting characters and main ones, the smart and funny banter and crazy shenanigans was spot on. From start to finish, I couldn’t stop laughing, smiling and highlighting.
Jordan wasn’t just smart, she was quick to think on her feet and could totally hold her own in the crazy that is Reid’s friends and family.
Swooning over Reid is completely unavoidable. He not only sees the beauty in what Jordan regards as plain, he helps see and love herself through his eyes. From charmingly admiring her out of control hair, to serenading her with sexy songs in the middle of a crowded restaurant, to flat out sweeping her off her feet. And once he realizes he’s head over heels in love with her, he completely embraces it.
“You look beautiful, gorgeous, pretty, cute, breathtaking… mouthwatering… mind-numbing. World altering.”

I just loved Reid and Jordan together, they were a perfect fit. He made her feel beautiful and wanted, and through her intelligence and sass she made him realize not just needed but wanted so much more than a first date. I really liked that even though there was funny, witty back and forth, the lightness was anchored by a strengthening relationship.
“Seems a girl in a red dress is taking up all space in my brain these days.”
“She sounds hot.”
“She’s so much more… than hot.” I kissed her mouth again. “She’s everything.”
This was a fantastic story. I loved the references to Lilo and Stitch, Star Wars, The Little Mermaid and even a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, which made me smile wider. The wonderfully fun characters and entertaining story made me giggle, chuckle and grin like crazy. Even Hades the underwear eating goat and little G the gecko from the previous book made an appearance, and Max made a new friend with E.T. look alike dog, Otis. I can’t wait to read the next one!
The Consequence of Seduction is the third book in the Consequence series by Rachel Van Dyken. Filled with hilarious antics, sweet sexy moments with a movie style happy ending. Told from both points of view. It can be read as a standalone although I strongly encourage you to read the entire series, not only will you pass out laughing, you’ll also get a better understanding of the dynamics with interconnecting characters from the previous book in the series.

This book was completely ridiculous.
But in the best way possible.
Reid has been born with a certain set of skills. He possesses a killer charm that has always given him everything he desires, his smile can fell women from a thousand feet and his eyes may just hold superpowers. But ever since that one incident at that one wedding that one time his charms are lost and Reid is in a funk.
Jordan is invisible. People just don’t see her. Even her high school friends thought she was that girl who died. The only noticeable thing about her is her hair that may just be a being of its own. She’s come to terms with her invisibility and besides going unnoticed makes her great at her job as publicist but that’s all about to change when the publicity stunt for her latest client backfires and lands her and her hair squarely in the public eye.
From the utterly over the top characters, to the slap-stick situations this group of friends find themselves in, to the banter between characters and the sibling rivalry to end all rivalries; this book was completely hilarious and I couldn’t enough of this band of misfit toys. Nearly every single word in this novel had me howling with laughter.
Jordan was a hot mess most of the time and a simple walk down the street could easily end in the apocalypse but her quirkiness was wholly enjoyable. Reid also had his own special brand of quirk and his confusion over Jordan was adorable. Each one gave as good as they got and underneath all the hilarity there was also a very endearing romance that developed between Reid and Jordan and if I wasn’t wiping away tears from laughing, I had foot cramps from my toes curling at the sweetness of it all.
Absolutely, definitely, completely recommend this hilarious rom-com!

A sweet light funny romantic read!!!!! Rachel Van Dyken has once again charmed her readers with this endearing romantic comedy!!!! And how could she not when she introduces characters like Max, Reid and Jordan into the mix!!! The Consequence of Seduction is a sweet love story that explores the madness they call LOVE. And in this particular love story, it is about seeing the person who has been standing by your side in a whole new light!
“I had no clue I'd be sealing my fate. No clue that the plain girl twisting the straw between her pretty little fingers would destroy me.”
While this third installment can be read as a standalone, I highly urge you to read the previous two books in order to gain a better understanding of the character dynamics of the secondary characters. Also, the first two books were just as sweet and hilarious as The Consequence of Seduction. So what can you expect in this book? Well, for one be prepared for MAX!!! I think this character needs to come with a warning label as he and Reid will have you laughing and giggling with the antics these two come up with. And secondly, be prepared to fall in love with Reid and Jordan as these two discover that something so wrong can be so right!! And there is nothing wrong in falling in love with the girl, who has been at your side.
So if you are looking for a book that is filled with an abundance of laughter, charm and sweet romance then look no further because RVD has written the book for you.

Rachel Van D's title as queen of OTT rom-com remains safely intact with this third addition to the Consequence series.
This is Reed's story. While these books each work as standalone(s,) I would highly recommend reading them in order to truly appreciate the humor behind secondary characters and the group dynamic.
Writing
As usual, Rachel writes in an OTT style. Everything from the romance to the humor is done big, bold, and bright but with just enough realism to keep it outta the category of ..
It's just good fun that's not to be taken seriously or literally, but not beyond plausible. If that's isn't your thing, then, well... I wish you and your corncob a long and happy marriage... You feel me?!?;;)
Anyhoo, I always love the visual-style Rachel uses. I never feel like I'm being told... Always shown.
Instead of a character bio being written for the FMC as 'plain Jane that's always looked over by the guys,' you get shown...
In the third grade when we were asked to do self-portraits, I presented mine to the class only to have my teacher give me an F for drawing a complete stranger.
Plot
Reed finds a fake, real, fake-real, real-fake, real relationship, and no, it's not with grandma. Vague? Yep... Just read the damn book.
You'll get a good bit of Max plotting
The ending is so sic-kingly sweet. Swoon at the silly romance.
Complaints
"The Consequence of Loving Colton" has become my litmus test for rom-com. So it's only befitting I hold Rach to standard she herself set, right?!
Comparatively, Seduction just isn't as funny as Colton's book. It's funny, just not as funny. It's good, just not as good.
Why?
I think Rachel might've listened to the nay-sayers and toned down some. I enjoyed the serious elements of the book; they weren't the problem. But, when it came to the craziness that inevitably just is these characters, I felt she held back and put a leash around them. She didn't do that in book Colton's story. Same with the FMC here... She's okay, but the previous FMC were just better.

Enjoyed it. Recommend it. And, can't wait to read Jason's story next.

Usually, I like to put a nice, promo-type comment at the start of my reviews. You know, something professional and slick that adequately summarizes the main outstanding qualities of the book I've just read. I've been typing and retyping furiously for the last few minutes trying to do this book justice and honestly I keep coming back to this:
Pee-your-pants funny.
Seriously, that sums up this book perfectly for me. I have laughed myself silly at other books before, but I can't ever recall a book that had me laughing continuously the whole way through. This book is unique in it's crazy insanity. A few times I had to re-read a section to make sure my brain had actually deciphered it correctly. What's particularly genius about this though is that each character was funny in their own different way. All the characters were superbly crafted with individual personalities and quirks.
Reid was a great leading man, and Jordan was a spunky, professional career woman who was quite vulnerable underneath that tough exterior. Together, they were a match made in heaven. I loved the slow progression of the romance and their sizzling chemistry.
I could devote an entire review on it's own to Max. Hella, how do I describe him? He was psychotically endearing is the best way I can put it. If I knew him in real life I would not be able to stand more than thirty seconds in his company before I'd start feeling uncharacteristic violent urges. Seriously, how none of the characters gave him a few slaps is beyond me. They all have limitless amounts of patience. But he was charming and funny with it. One of these hyper-intelligent, interfering busybodies with a heart of gold. He was definitely swinging off the crazy tree but it was hysterically funny to read. The toing and froing between him and Reid was especially funny.
And Reid and his 'grandma' experience. I'll say it again: pee-your-pants funny.
I've read a couple of Rachel's other books, and I knew she was an accomplished writer, but she really nailed it with this quirky, different Hollywood romance that will have you laughing your rocks off. Seriously entertaining read. Highly recommended.

Rachel Van Dyken has done it again!! As a fan of her Consequence series, I have been dying to read Reid’s story. And let me tell you, it does not disappoint.
The Consequence of Seduction follows the story of Reid and Jordan. When we first meet up with Reid, he is in need of some PR help. That’s where Jordan comes into play. Jordan is used to making her clients look good and fixing their problems. But, when a PR stunt goes wrong, Jordan will quickly find herself immersed in one the biggest problems she’s ever had to fix. Now, she’s the one in the spotlight and lines between real and fake are starting to blur. What will happen when their PR stunt, suddenly turns into more? Will a simple misunderstanding have the power to ruin everything?
Rachel Van Dyken has totally knocked it out of the park with this one. This book was absolutely hilarious. If you thought Max was funny before, you haven’t seen anything yet. He really ups his game in this book and when you put him together with Reid, they are a force to be reckoned with. You will not be able to stop laughing. You will find yourself either shaking your heard at the things Max is doing or you’ll be grabbing tissues to wipe the laugh tears away!! And don’t even get me started on Grandma. Yes, Grandma does make a cameo and poor Reid…..She really traumatized him!!
All that being said, this isn’t just a funny book. This is a really great book about seeing people for who they really are and the lengths that they will go to for people that they care about. Reid and Jordan’s story will hook you from the very beginning and will keep you entertained the entire time. I really loved Reid and Jordan together. They had amazing chemistry and I loved the whole will they/won’t they vibe that they had. I loved the sweet moments. Reid was totally swoon worthy and was just the right match for Jordan.
The Consequence of Seduction is a fabulous read; from start to finish. Told from dual points of view, this story is well written and paced just right. This is a book you will find yourself waking up early for and completely unable to put down. I honestly loved everything about this story. I loved the story-line and the characters. The characters…they were so much fun, easy to relate to and so entertaining. I haven’t laughed this much in such a long time. And not only was this book funny, but it did have some drama and really good romance too. I just loved it. I know, I’ve already said that, but it’s true. I loved this book. If you’re looking for a book that will make you laugh and fall in love, all at the same time, I highly recommend checking this book out!

Reid and Jordan’s story will hook you from the very beginning and will keep you entertained the entire time. I really loved Reid and Jordan together. They had amazing chemistry and I loved the whole will they/won’t they vibe that they had. I loved the sweet moments. Reid was totally swoon worthy and was just the right match for Jordan.
The Consequence of Seduction is a fabulous read; from start to finish. Told from dual points of view, this story is well written and paced just right. This is a book you will find yourself waking up early for and completely unable to put down. I honestly loved everything about this story. I loved the story-line and the characters. The characters…they were so much fun, easy to relate to and so entertaining. I haven’t laughed this much in such a long time. And not only was this book funny, but it did have some drama and really good romance too. I just loved it. I know, I’ve already said that, but it’s true. I loved this book. If you’re looking for a book that will make you laugh and fall in love, all at the same time, I highly recommend checking this book out!

The Consequence series has brought me a lot of laughs, and Reid’s book was no different. With Max stirring things up and Reid’s new found fame, things can get a little crazy.
Reid landed a big role in a movie that has put him in the spotlight. Because of this, he needs a publicist. With a little meddling from his brother Max, his publicist becomes more than just someone working for him—she becomes his new love interest.
Jordan is great at her job and she’s not going to let Reid get in the way of her getting a promotion. She needs him to behave and not do anything crazy, but when she gets involved on a personal level things get way more complicated.
I very much enjoyed this book and all of Max’s antics that make everything more interesting. Jordan and Reid have an interesting relationship that is based on being fake for the media but things get good when they start to accept that they have real feelings for each other. Though it wouldn’t be without a few bumps in the road. Will they be able to have a relationship that is real or will it remain only for the media?
It was great to catch up with the rest of the gang. This book had a lot of laughs with a good romance thrown in with it. I can’t wait to read Jason’s story next! ~ Leah, 4.5 stars

I am a huge fan of romantic comedies. If I can simultaneously laugh while crying, I feel like I have hit the book jackpot. Rachel is one of the best authors for this. Her The Bet series has and will always be one of my favorites for this reason. The Consequence series is not far behind. The Consequence of Seduction is a standalone but I highly recommend you read the first two books first. With appearances of characters from the previous books, you can get a better feel of the characters that way. Plus, the books are hilarious and perfectly written so why wouldn't you?
Max and Reid are a dynamic duo that are not to be messed with. Their antics had me giggling like a school girl. Max alone was hilarious but with the addition of Reid, let's just say this was the perfect book!

Jordan is a spit fire who is not to be messed with also. When Reid and Jordan collide, watch out world. If you aren't laughing, you'll be fanning yourself from the heat.

4.5 Max is always right Stars
DAMN! I love this series! I couldn't wait to see what RVD had in store for Reid. I was craving this one, because from the get go I knew that this one was going to be different. And it was, because we have Jordan.
Jordan is the girl that fades into the background. She has lived her life feeling invisible. She's the girl that when your eyes scan the room, they won't land on her. She's just, there. I freaking loved Jordan and I feel like the majority of the female population will completely identify with. I did.
Once again RVD proves that she is a master at putting her characters in the most ridiculous situations and making it not only work, but incredibly ADDICTING! Seriously, this would never happen in real life, and that's why it's so freaking fantastic!
There is a common thread in this series, and it's name is MAX. If you read the first book and don't fall completely in love with his insane personality, don't bother to move on. He only gets more....Max. But here's what we come to understand. Max. Is. Always. Right. And it's freaking scary. Not only do I love how over the top his character is, I love how Jordan handles him. I love how along the way through this series, this family continues to grows.
Jordan has never felt special in her life, but Reid wants to change that, because that's not how he sees Jordan. He wants to change her from the girl with the lights off, to the girl in the spotlight. I adored it. Now the long wait begins to FINALLY get Jason's story!

Meus amigos dizem que sou masoquista quando pego algo assim para ler, mas outro dia no Goodreads alguém me disse que na verdade eu tenho vigor para ler coisa ruim, o que eu acho uma descrição muito melhor. A questão é que nem sempre dá pra dizer o quão ruim um livro é até chegar no final, o que não foi esse o caso, The Consequence of Seduction é ruim do início ao fim sem pausa de respiro. Mas às vezes eu também gosto de ler o livro ruim até a última página para poder reclamar com Propriedade.
Esse foi meu primeiro, e provavelmente último, livro da americana Rachel Van Dyken. Apesar de ser o terceiro volume de uma série, a autora afirma que ele é um stand alone, o que é, de certa forma, verdade. Aqui acompanhamos a história absurdamente improvável Reid e Jordan, um ator que aparentemente perdeu o jeito com as mulheres depois de ser abusado por uma velhinha (é sério), e sua nova agente de relações públicas, que é invisível (quase literalmente).
A lista de problemas desse livro é tão grande que nem sei por onde começar! Ele é tão mal escrito que eu confesso que continuei lendo porque não consegui acreditar que aquilo realmente tinha sido publicado. É nível fanfic de ruim. Cheio de pseudo piadas muito toscas e de mal gosto. E pensar que é o terceiro livro numa série, que, pelo conteúdo desse volume, segue exatamente o mesmo padrão.
Por favor, fiquem longe, tem muita literatura erótica boa por aí.

Reid has never had to put any effort into getting women to fall all over him, but recent events (in books #1 & #2) have his confidence shaken. Now is not a good time for his mojo to be off balance as he has just landed a breakout role in "The Taming of the Shrew". Trying to help, his brother Max engineers a publicity stunt for Reid to find a real-life shrew to tame. Reid's new publicist, Jordan, attempts to do damage control and instead gets named the "shrew" he is to tame. Reid and Jordan already have a strange chemistry and now they will need to spend time together in a fake romance for the public. What starts out fake has real consequences.
Another funny romance by Rachel Van Dyken. I loved the first two books and was not disappointed by this one. It had all the crazy elements that I liked in the first two books (mainly Max), but Reid still managed to have his own story. I loved seeing how he managed to get his mojo back and get over his fear of commitment too. I'm totally hooked on this series. I'll definitely be looking for the next book.

News Alert: Reid has been tamed!
I really do love this series and especially those Emory boys, Max and Reid. Despite being the older sibling, Reid finds himself far below Max’s maniacal brilliance on a daily basis but Reid will never go down without a fight and that means only one thing, he’s going to use everything in his arsenal to topple Max’s empire!
Max is bored and when Max is box the world needs to be fearful. Sitting in his ivory tower, he plots and plans his world domination, one step at a time. With his eyes set firmly on the Presidency though, and needing to bide his time before he takes up office, he decides that match-making is a more pressing matter *poor Reid*.
Despite his weird and wonderful ways, Max does have his brother’s and friends’ best interests at heart and seeing that Reid is still suffering at the hands of “Grandma”, he sets about getting him back in the saddle. Enter Jordan. After initially meeting in a bar, Reid is shocked to find that she is his new Publicist but what Jordan doesn’t expect is a new right-hand man, aka Max. Max decides to spice things up in Reid’s life and advertises a place playing Reid’s “shrew” in a real life remake of the Taming of the Shrew. In an attempt to escape the frenzy of female applicants, Jordan steps in and says the place is filled but little does she know that Max is happy to use her as Reid’s muse.
All out war ensues especially when Reid plays Max off against his father and as a result, Max’s sex life is put on hold! Max won’t be stopped though and Max without sex is a scary thing to behold. The story progresses with antics galore and pranks to make your eyes water, especially where Jason is concerned. Grandma makes an appearance *gotta love that woman* as well as Hades and Little G and the scene is set for yet another epic story in the Seduction series.
As much as I love this series, and in particular Reid, I did find this story particularly exhausting to read. This is more to do with trying to keep up with Max’s mind rather than RVD’s writing style though. The banter is fast flowing, the antics even quicker and Max is simply Max. Need I say more!
Jason’s story is next and I’m already mentally preparing for the physical onslaught. Poor Jason is bound to find himself in hospital a time or two!

I typically am not a fan of "famous person" books but there is just something about the way Rachel handled the subject that not only had me eager to read but also made it impossible to put down. Ever since Reid was "violated" by Grandma in the first book in this series he has been off his game. Nothing proves that more than being rejected by the plain girl at the bar, even if there was something about her. Flash forward a day and suddenly the girl who rejected him is his new publicist and in charge of keeping his image squeaky clean while he films his first movie. This is so much harder than it should be with Max as a brother. Now they are in a fake relationship that somehow stops feeling so fake.
'Note to self: don't look directly in his eyes for fear that clothes will spontaneously pull themselves off my body.'
Reid and Jordan stole the show for me. Together they challenged each other as well as what they think they were looking for. Add to that the kooky group that they call friends and you have a book that will make you laugh so hard your side hurts for days. Let's talk for a second about the amazing Max, fans of the series already know what I am going to say, Max, Max, Max. I can't even being to say how much I love him. His scheming might seem random and silly but his forethought is so deep I am starting to feel he might be a higher being. The Emory brothers provide so much enjoyment to the story that I almost missed them as much as the couple themselves at the end of the story.
'Oh, who was I kidding? Dating Reid Emory in real life was the equivalent of winning the lottery for a girl like me. A girl who, by all accounts, he shouldn't even see. But did. Possibly more clearly than anyone in my entire life ever had.'
Reid Emory proves that sometimes what you thought you wanted is all wrong and sometimes what you need is right in front of you. From picking on Jordan's wild hair to making her learn to love her curves and all that she is I absolutely swooned for Reid Emory. These two are the kind of couple you hope to encounter in a romantic comedy and I promise that by the end you will have a wide smile spreading across your face,

I have read many, many, many books by the extremely talented Rachel Van Dyken. And I know she can be very hilarious, including in her writing. However, this book just had me howling – ALOT!!
Now I know some people feel that authors can go overboard with the witty commentary or the humor just gets too over the top. But I am telling that you Rachel nails it!! It’s been awhile since I have loved characters like I do in this series. And you want to know a secret (just don’t tell Rachel) this is the first book in this series that I have read. SHHH. So yes, all these books can be read as a standalone.
But let me tell you – I have fallen in love with every single one of these characters. They all have their unique qualities that Rachel has written so well. I want each of them as my friend in real life. These characters are so freaking awesome. They truly make the story that much more interesting.
So yea – the story, the book. Rachel wrote an endearing yet funny story. Jordan is Reid’s publicist and has to help him maintain his image with a new movie coming out. Reid hasn’t really been the same since an unfortunate incident. Well when Jordan tries to fix his image, we’ll just say that things (or people) sort of throw her some curve balls. Cue many awkward scenarios, LOTS of laughs and possibly some oh shit moments and you have yourself one hell of story that Rachel wrote phenomenally.
I can’t say enough about how much I love this book and everything about it. I will definitely be diving right into the other books in this series so I can continue this awesome buzz I have going after reading this book!

It’s been awhile since I have loved characters like I do in this series. And you want to know a secret (just don’t tell Rachel) this is the first book in this series that I have read. SHHH. So yes, all these books can be read as a standalone.
But let me tell you – I have fallen in love with every single one of these characters. They all have their unique qualities that Rachel has written so well. I want each of them as my friend in real life. These characters are so freaking awesome. They truly make the story that much more interesting.
So yea – the story, the book. Rachel wrote an endearing yet funny story. Jordan is Reid’s publicist and has to help him maintain his image with a new movie coming out. Reid hasn’t really been the same since an unfortunate incident. Well when Jordan tries to fix his image, we’ll just say that things (or people) sort of throw her some curve balls. Cue many awkward scenarios, LOTS of laughs and possibly some oh shit moments and you have yourself one hell of story that Rachel wrote phenomenally.
I can’t say enough about how much I love this book and everything about it. I will definitely be diving right into the other books in this series so I can continue this awesome buzz I have going after reading this book!

Reid Emory is being forced by his brother Max and his friends to get back in the game--dating, sex, anything to get his mind off being recently stalked by an amorous grandma. His usual easy going, devastating charm seems to be misfiring after his traumatic experience.
Little did he know getting tipsy and flirting with Jordan Litwright was going to change his life and his career. After an awkward initial meeting that sent her running, they find themselves working closely together since she is the actor's new publicist. So they need to focus on their new professional relationship. But it is a challenge. She strives to be immune to his charms, but he enjoys trying to use them against her.
Reid's wild brother Max cannot seem to stay out of his business and causes a PR nightmare that leaves Reid and Jordan suffering the consequences and having to act as a couple. Soon their careers rely on each other and they must survive the continued meddling of Max, his friends, and public scrutiny. As they deal with the media in their fake relationship they alternate between sexual tension, flirting, taunting, and sometimes disgust. They push, they challenge and they piss off each other. Every once in a while a hot kiss gets thrown in. They are living and breathing the lie they perpetuated in the media...that Reid is going to "tame the shrew." But at the same time she is trying to keep both of their careers on track and not succumb to his persistent charm.
It's a confusing mix of a little seduction (some fake and some more real), some rejection, a definite attraction but one that should have professional boundaries. Lines are a bit blurred. Their communication is not always effective. She's always been plain and invisible while he is magnetic and popular. But he truly sees her and likes to bring out her wild side.
This is another over-the-top absolutely crazy, chaotic, frenzied comedic romp. It is hilarious, awkward, and downright insane. It had me both laughing and cringing at times. It was also actually sweet. Reid was a charismatic hero despite his somewhat cocky demeanor. Jordan was awkward, but spirited. She was not used to being in the spotlight and was determined to keep fixing all of the problems as they came up.
Max, Oh my, Max...He was so whacked in this one...totally off the rails when dealing with his brother and causing more and more complications. And if the craziness of having their friends Max and Becca, Colt and Milo, and Jason involved in their daily lives is not enough...throw in Vegas. Yes, Vegas! Crazy people in crazy town...yes I know I am using the word crazy a lot but it truly fits.
This is full of adventures, miscommunication, mistakes, drama, dares, threats, taunts, and near killing episodes. It is frantic, frenzied, and funny.
I really liked Reid and Jordan. I loved how he saw the real her and he made her feel pretty. The banter and rapport they had was sweet and infectious even when they were so unsure. Reid was adorable despite his issues. And Jordan was likable despite her insecurities. I loved that she could stand up to Max...poor Reid could use a buffer with his brother.
I felt sorry for solitary, accident-prone, sad-sack Jason. I am looking forward to his book next. We got a little tease into it.

I have been a Rachel Van Dyken fan since The Bet. She arms her characters with witty jabs to trade back and forth and with her writing style, you can picture it perfectly in your head. Her dialogue is one of my favorite parts of the Eagle Elite series. Here we have mafia bosses and kids being groomed to take over the family businesses flipping each other off behind their backs. That same witty dialogue drives the humor in The Consequence of Seduction. Shame on me for starting the series with book three. While it can be read as a stand alone, I really need to know the back story of Max.
"Like I said, it all started with listening to Max, so as I got up on shaky legs and made my way over to the bar, I had no idea I'd be sealing my fate. No clue that the plain girl twisting the straw between her pretty little fingers would destroy me." ~ Reid
Max. The perpetual thorn in Reid's side and his younger brother. For some reason, Reid can't just flash his million dollar smile and bat his beautiful eyes to land a chick anymore. He needs some new moves according to Max. However, Reid's people have another plan, to get the best PR person in town to help him with his big move to the silver screen.
Jordan is the girl nobody sees. She's invisible. Well in her mind anyway, which makes her the perfect PR person for self-absorbed actors and actresses. She doesn't need the spotlight and is fabulous at spinning a story. Unfortunately, Jordan ends up in the exact position she didn't want to ever be in, the spotlight.
"And even though I was no longer invisible to him. I'd turned into something else much worse. A game. A means to an end. And I knew it would end." ~ Jordan
Reid and Jordan start to play a tricky game of star and PR person that are now dating. It's all for show, to turn Reid into a household name, but starts to take on a life of its own, mostly due to Max's meddling.. The game is dangerous and the only thing that it will accomplish is breaking somebody's heart for real.
"Dating Reid Emory in real life was the equivalent of winning the lottery for a girl like me. A girl who, by all accounts, he shouldn't even see. But did. Possibly more clearly than anyone in my entire life even had." ~ Jordan
They are both plagued with doubt about the situation and each other. With the different backgrounds and attitudes, it seems like there is no way this relationship can work. Reid is starting to have real feelings for Jordan and all of the sudden, it isn't a game to him anymore.
"It's where logic goes straight out the window and you heart suddenly grows way too big to keep it inside your chest so you decide, the hell with it, I'm just going to wear it on my sleeve. And hope she doesn't break it. A girl like Jordan could break me." ~ Reid
That's what I absolutely loved about Reid's character. Even though he was a big star, he had the normal insecurities as any other guy. It made him seem much more genuine in his actions towards Jordan.
The book is well written from dual points of view and we are still in touch with Colton, Milo, Max and Becca, even with it being Reid's turn. Like I said, the book can be read as a stand alone, however I absolutely loved Max and need more of him.

Jordan has always been the girl that never got noticed, easily set aside and forgotten, but the minute Reid lays his mesmerizing gaze on her, he sees only her, a phenomenon Jordan has never experienced and is unprepared for. Reid's her client, and being attracted to him is an ethical no-no, but not only is the attraction mutual, it's unavoidable, and it intensifies the more they spend time together. He's the latest Hollywood heartthrob and his being with her may not make sense to public at large, but Reid is drawn to all things Jordan, and these two just seem to be so in sync with each other, especially once they decide to join forces to battle the evil genius Max and his machinations to get what he wants. When you think about it though, Max's motivations aren't purely selfish. Yes, he's going to get something out of the whole fake relationship thing between Jordan and Reid, but it's clear that Max loves his brother and he wants him to have the same kind of happiness that Max has. Of course, Max "helping" out leads to hijinks and hilarity.
This series works because of the original ensemble of Milo Caro, Colton Mathews, Max Emory, Reid Emory, and Jason Caro. There's been a new addition since the second book, and instead of it feeling crowded, it's become a case of "the more, the merrier" and it works rather well. This group of kindred spirits do the nuttiest things and end up in the most embarrassing of situations at times--and at least one or more of the group is involved, but it's often done out of the goodness of their hearts and with the best of intentions. I can't get enough of these characters, and that's saying a lot, because they're very much present in every single book in the series. I can't imagine a book without all of them there and if I was forced to think of that possibility, it would be depressing. With four out of the original five now finding their happily-ever-afters, Jason is the only one left, and that epilogue has me more than curious about the redheaded girl with curls. The Consequence of Seduction is a five-plus-starred rom-com must-read. ♥

I first fell in love with this authors writing style and humour when I read Book #1 in the Consequences series. If you love witty banter and downright funny moments , that have you starting to question that maybe your family isn't as insane as you thought after you have read the family dynamics of these characters from Milo and her brother Jason to Milo's husband Colton and finally the Emory brothers - Max and Reid and Max's fiancee Becca. If I had to chose my two favourite characters from this series would have to be Max and Jason. In Book #3 it's Reid's turn to find true love and for this playboy movie star it's going to be nothing be trouble and mayhem especially since he has an older brother called Max . Reid has gone to sign up with a new PR Firm and gets the manager Jordan who is awesome at her job and definitely not his type of girl. It's going to be a breeze working with her as how can someone like these two ever fall in love with one another ? Max believes his brother is losing his touch and to play a prank on him (they are famous for this) he sets up a sort of Bachelor show called "The Taming of the Shrew" which goes hand in hand with the new Shakespeare film he is starring lead in . Of course , readers can see where I am going with this as Jordan ends up being the chosen one and soon finds herself living with Reid and being part of his and Max's everyday life. What will happen though when Jordan believes that everything was just part of a PR game ? Can she really be in love with a movie star and does he really care about her or was it all a stunt to get him back into the eyes of the public with a good image ?

The Consequence of Seduction was another laugh out loud, spicy, sweet romance in the Consequence Series! I have been a die-hard fan since I read the first one, The Consequence of Loving Colton, and I was finally glad to get Reid’s story in my hands.
Poor Reid…he’s been through so much trauma and turmoil (although it’s pretty darn funny!), so I was happy he was going to get his shot at happiness. Reid’s movie career is really taking off, but he is off his seduction game since his altercations with Grandma. He’s having no luck with the ladies, and all movie star heartthrobs have to have game with the women. Reid gets one of the best publicists in the business. Her name is Jordan, and the chemistry between the two is on fire, although they don’t know if they want to fall in bed together or kill each other first. Reid knows Jordan can help him…that is until his brother, Max, gets involved, and we all know when Max gets involved chaos, mayhem, and lots of laughter is soon to follow.
I loved Reid and Jordan. They are polar opposites. Reid is a magnet for adoration and attention while Jordan is always overlooked, and some people don’t even know she exists….literally! When Reid makes his interest known, she can’t believe it. As they get closer, she really can’t believe he might actually have real feelings for her. She’s beautiful inside and out, and she has her own quirkiness which makes her a perfect addition to the gang. Plus, she holds her own with Reid and Max. It takes a special woman to make those two toe the line. I loved the storyline and seeing all the characters from the earlier books! As always, I love Max. He may be slightly eccentric, and that’s putting it mildly. But, his heart is always in the right place. And finally….finally it looks as if the next book will be about Jason! I’m doing the happy dance. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

This is my first Rachel Van Dyken book and I can’t believe I missed this series. Although it is the third book in the series it is possible to read it as a stand-alone; although I have to say there is a lot of reference to past events within the plot that would benefit the series being read in order. I can honestly say I dashed straight to Amazon to download the previous two books as soon as I finished reading this one :)
The story alternates between Reid and Jordan; the actor and the publicist. Where Reid smoulders his way through life, Jordan fades into the background. I felt so hurt on Jordan’s behalf on how she is viewed, this isn’t to say she isn’t beautiful, because I truly think she is, even with the expanding hair :) It is because she lacks confidence in herself to make her stand out; therefore, making her a self-fulfilling prophecy of being invisible to others.
Reid’s PTSD over the Grandma incident (The Consequences of Loving Colton) has rendered his romantic endeavours lacklustre at very best. That is until the adorable clumsiness that is Jordan crashes into his life, sending his neatly ordered life into complete chaos. Sparks quite literally fly.
As much as I loved Reid and Jordan it was Max (Reid’s brother) who truly stole the show. Seriously this guy is some kind of evil genius-slash-fairy godmother. I could easily picture him sitting in his office stroking a white fluffy cat and plotting world domination. For all his trickster ways, it is obvious that Max truly cares for the people around him, tormenting them seems to be his way of showing his love, lol.
The Consequences of Seduction had me completely hooked. Romance, sarcasm, quirky characters and a boat load of comedic situations make this book un-put-downable :)

I loved this book! If you are looking for something to make you laugh out loud this one is for you!
This is book three in the Consequence series but can be read as a standalone. This book had me laughing from the beginning. I loved Reid and I loved Jordan!
Reid is on his way to becoming the next big thing in Hollywood if he gets the right PR. But then again she never had to deal with the Emory boys and by that I mean Max, Reid's younger brother. Max keeps Reid and Jordan on their toes and it's kind of scary how crazy awesome he is..
These two were great together and I loved everything about them and their interactions with not only each other, but everyone else as well. This is a read that will keep you laughing and also make you swoon.

This is book three in the Consequence series but can be read as a standalone. This book had me laughing from the beginning. I loved Reid and I loved Jordan!

I loved Reid and Jordan's story. I can truly attest this can be read as a standalone, although after all those sneak peeks or inside jokes, I want to go back and read the other books in the series.
This light hearted almost romantic comedy. Rachel's writing always has me smiling if it's a mafia or contemporary romance, I laughed a lot, my kids and husband can attest to that as well.
I love the flawed characters, maybe because I find the perfection, perfect sometimes, it's so nice to read a story I can relate to and still get a fairy tale our of it.
My goodness the girl is a size what? She's got crazy unmanageable hair that makes her more real to me. And men even if perfect on the eyes usually aren't always the sharpest tools in the shed, especially when it comes to woman and love. Something almost sincere with their falling in love and getting a fairy tale or at least that's how you hope it ends.

4 Witty Stars!

This series is hilarious. This series starts with The Consequences of Loving Colton where we meet the emphasis Max. Max who is an island on his own and the antics that come with him. In the first book Reid was forced into Max's scheming, where he gets extremely traumatized and scarred for life. Now after Max has found his HEA, he's back to meddling and wants to help Reid get back on the wagon of love. It has felt like forever since I've been waiting for Reid's story.

As Max convinces Reid to get out there again with his lethal eyes, he sets the bar with a plain Jane. This plain Jane named Jordan at first doesn't succumb to Reid's eyes which makes her all the more interesting. What tops her off is that she is far from being plain and her ability to hold her own with Max as well as the fact that when they meet again she's there to help him and his career.
Jordan has always been invisible but she's damn good at her job. However, she's never come up against the forces that are Max and Reid. Now thrown into their crazy shenanigans she has to hold her own.
For Jordan its hard for her to believe someone like Reid could actually like her. It's also hard to believe that once he finds fame that he won't change like so many of her other clients. The crazier the antics occurred the crazier her hair grew and the crazier Reid fell.
I love the way Rachel writes especially with her humorous banter. It's absolutely brilliant they way she can write all the banter between the characters. I also love Rachel's ability to write in such different genres and keep coming out with great books. Sure now that we know of Max's antics they aren't quite as funny as the first two books but they are still pretty hilarious.
I have always loved Reid so I was excited for him to get his happiness, especially after Grandma but let's be honest I can NOT WAIT for Jason's book. This book was light, fun, witty and sweet. I adore this series and it was exactly what I needed to brighten my week.

I guess I should start off by saying that I have NOT read the first two novels in this series. And one of the things that I absolutely LOVE about Rachel's stories is that they are all stand-alone. Meaning there are no cliff-hangers between one book and the next. And whilst the characters all stay the same, you never really feel as though you have missed something if you come in right in the middle (or near the end) of a series.
Except (for me) with this one. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't that there was anything wrong with this book, and please don't think that I didn't enjoy it because I DID immensely, however for the majority of this book I felt.... well I probably felt a lot like Jordan did in the beginning. That I was an outsider looking in. That there were a lot of inside jokes within this group that I wasn't privy too, and stories they had about each other that I would never fully understand.
Aside from that (which really just enticed me to read the first two novels in this series and serve as my warning to you that you should definitely read the first two before reading this one) this is another great read! There are a lot of laugh-out-loud moments in this story (maybe even more than were featured in her Seaside series, or her The Bet series). I especially liked the part where she merely referenced New Jersey (my home state), but managed to perfectly capture the atmosphere here (we even have a retirement home about five minutes away from my house, but so help me I do not want "grandma" anywhere near me)!!
The love story between Reid and Jordan was just that - a complete love story. There was no wondering what would happen with these characters, there was no shaking your head at the lack of chemistry - it was all there! In fact sometimes you found yourself wondering how they didn't see what everyone else saw - and the more you read, the less it becomes an "inside joke" and the more it becomes another fictional family to which you now belong. It was a perfect blend of a romantic comedy (and definitely would make for an interesting movie)!! I am now eagerly anticipating the next book!
I would HIGHLY recommend this novel to anyone who is already a fan of Rachel's (although seriously, read the first two novels first - I plan on reading them after this), but also to anyone who enjoys a good laugh out loud romance.
