Get yourself worked up with this hot two-pack of Zach Morgan's hot romance tales. Simmer yourself steamy in the kitchen with "Fire Up My Heart," and then bone up on your Greek culture with "By His Side." Whether it's the kitchen or the library, these hot men have some Talented Hands...FIRE UP MY HEART -- Paul trained hard to get where he is, and now he’s the sous-chef in one of the city’s best restaurants. Everything’s great. Well, almost everything.Paul’s boss, Ethan, is tightly-wound, outspoken in his views on homosexuality, and incredibly hot. As Paul falls for Ethan, everything he’s worked so hard for could go out the window in a flash. When a local gay couple book out the entire restaurant for their wedding reception, Ethan is forced to confront his own feelings before he makes the biggest mistake of his life. Can Paul possibly persuade his own boss to overcome his personal demons, or will he be forced to keep his professional distance lest he lose his job?BY HIS SIDE -- Soren's worked hard to get into grad school, and he takes his work seriously. Teaching undergraduates about ancient history? No sweat. Reading ancient inscriptions? No problem.Al Greenberg, though... He's a problem for Soren. Kind, funny, and smoking hot, he's also Soren's faculty advisor... and graduate students and professors are definitely not supposed to date. When an accident puts everything Al's worked for in peril, Soren's forced to reach within his own heart and extend his hand. Can he save the day - and find out how Al really feels - or will both of them be left in ruins?
This M/M short story reads more like "Life in a restaurant's kitchen 101" than a short romance: there are several explanations that might have been interesting had they not been so dry. The two leads are stiff and unlikeable and the chemistry between them is non existent.
The second story has more flesh to it and is therefore more interesting, but I would not go so far as to call it compelling.
This was 2 books one about a chef and the other historian professor and grad student. I thought they were good. Topics were so-so. Almost too much explanation Chef 101 but a bit interesting. The historians about the same almost lost at the beginning but then caught on. I'll have to agree with other person "dude" was out of place, not a word I was expecting out of anyone, just felt wrong. Kind of like yelling STOP. Other than that fun read.
The first story is a "dummy's guide" to working in a restaurant kitchen.....very descriptive about the equipment, prep work and even food storage and then it ends very confusingly with sex in the cellar amongst the potatoes and onions......health and safety issue surely??? The only redeeming item was the word "pillock"....not heard that in a decade!!
The second story had a little more about it, but couldn't really connect with the characters, lost interest and skimmed to the end.
Two books by the same guy. Great stories, lovable characters, lots of loving and then the word that destroyed it all. DUDE - no, nope, nein, niet... ~shake my head vigorously~
