Hmmm first... I don't think the title of the book reflects what is actually in the book. Yes there was a mistress... but she wasn't hired for that purpose, but then again she was hired and became a mistress so… I guess it could work.
I think going into it, I assumed that there would be some type of agreement where she would be the mistress.. Actually the whole book made me think of a low budget scandal (Which is a show I love btw).
I get that she was supposed to be this great “fixer” but she came off very hmmm I guess immature. I mean seriously if she would have said “HOE” one more time I would have snatched my head off and then when I was expecting her to be fierce and serve said “HOES” with some words of wisdom.. she fell flat like a pancake…. I was like WHOA give me something where I could be like HOT DAMN.. nope didn’t happen.. I actually yawn. However this this is no real fault of the author but once you experience an olivia pope type “fixer” you kinda have in your mind someone who will serve fierceness on a platter without blinking an eye. Instead of someone who just throws cash at the problem.
Now let's get to my real issue… Jamie is a total airhead. Yep I said it. and Nathan is a totally lame.. again I stand strongly by these statements and let me explain why...since I did just just lose some valuable time reading this book.
***Some SPOILERS*****
The affair isn’t what had me rolling my eyes… NOPE it was the freaking fact that this wasn’t his first time having an affair… and the icing on the cake is the what she looks like… um hell to the no.. First red flag.. the affair, second, multiple affairs and then she has the nerves to be all “I am happy he doesn’t give his wife smiles that he gives me” the hell… um she clearly has a reason to be pissed off… regardless if the marriage sucked ass her husband should have kept it in his pants or got a freaking divorce. I expected more from Jamie, but nope she was a disappointment, she actually made me sick.
Nathan.. yeah this dude was actually “the man” in this book, I mean he got to have his cake and eat it too… I mean seriously I don’t give a smooth fart how attractive this dude is.. he is still gross and I swear I only read about a condom being used ONCE in this whole book. Yeah shockingly I am a reader who looks at those details ( usually because I am expecting a pregnancy) but they were reckless.. and again it was gross.
I gave 2 stars only because I felt sorry for his freaking wife… like she is crazy because she has been putting up with her husband’s crap for YEARS… If I was supposed to feel slighted by her actions.. I wasn’t at all and it didn’t make me lean or agree with Jamie and Nathan at all. Usually there will be a point in the book where I am like OKAY neither of these freaking guys belong together or something where I am like.. it’s not right but I get it.. NOPE NOTHING hit gold at all for him to be that loose with his penis.
This whole book was a cluster f*** of mess. I also didn’t like the ending, actually hated it. Now if there was a book where let's say… Nathan continued to slang his penis while jamie idk grew a freaking pair and set his ass on fire then maybe I would be interested but this book just honestly didn’t do it for me at all.
Loved the storyline even if cheating was involved, if I had a wife like that I would have killed her myself. Only which it was more to the story I wanted to know the secret his pass lover had about his wife. What happened to Christian, just a few unanswered questions.
Not so interesting. The "She could curl up with an amazing Lena Skye book"was gag... seriously? This is the only book that I've read the author promoting her own that way...
This is the first time I have read a book by Lena Skye and it will not be the last. She is one fine writer! This book had everything one could want in a book hot steamy sex, intense mystery and a strong Alpha male and oh yes we have a bonus of a strong Alpha female as well.
Jamie owns a PR company who is hired by Nathan and his wife Stephanie to fix their images as they move more into the public eye with their multi million dollar company. Jamie recognizes from the start their is issues in this couple;s relationship from not only their body language but also because Nathan openly flirts with her. It all starts with a wink and a smile...
This was a really good book. I had to stay up and read it til the end and then go find another book to get from her. So i highly recommend this book. I do not like cheating but in this book, to me, it was something that went with the story line so i was able to overlook it.
Love this author but not this book. Boring, stupid story, totally underdeveloped characters and plot. I would expect more from this author. The whole book is about a married man having an affair with his publicist and the lengths guy's crazy wife will go to in order to keep him in a loveless marriage. The premise has promise but the execution fell short. So much more could have been done with the wife's character and her desperation, the male lead Nathan was weak and pathetic, and the female lead was described as strong and independent but everything she did involving Nathan said otherwise.
The end of the story was rushed and unsatisfying, and loose ends abound. A disappointing book.
I really like Lena Skye's books, I'm glad that this one was not one cut into parts. I enjoyed this book, the charters were well written and their story was brought to life in a believable way. Although many people will have a problem with this subject, I enjoyed their journey. Jamie knew she was wrong and she fought hard to not love Nathan. I'm glad that everything worked out for them.
Anything Lena Skye writes you know it's going to be good, this book was no exception!! I loved Jaime's character , she don't play when it comes to her job and she loves hard when it comes to her man Nathan. I really wish Stephanie & Christian got a little more punishment for their dirty deeds but Jaime & Nathan is happy in the end!! I hope Lena has a spin off for Jaime friends, that will be a good book!!
Is this serious? The characters are stupid. I only like Christian (a bit) and he was treated like shit by the girl.
The story didn't have any kind of build up. They were attracted to each other. In a few pages, they were having sex, fighting, sex, fighting. And then they're already in love? Uggghhh!
She even had the nerve to judge and hate Christian but look at what she's doing?
I always love your books and this one is just as good as the others. Keep doing what you you do. Now being a married woman myself I'm not into what went down with Jamie and Nathan, but that witch of a wife didn't deserve that man's love.
I didn't like Jamie as much and felt she got what she deserved in the end with the tabloids, but Lena made it a happy ending for her. Overall, the book kept me wondering what would happen next.
All the ways I hated this book and the reasons why I didn't finish AFTER 50%. Yes, this may be all spoilers and expletives are involved. If this bothers you, stop now.
The characters are tacky and have no redeeming qualities. 1.Nathan is an asshole with a history of cheating on his wife, so now I'm supposed to believe that this relationship with Jamie is different? Please! 2. Jamie is an unprofessional moron. The way she talks to clients and tries to fix people is crass and made me cringe. She also makes no sense. The author did all this work of trying to establish Jamie with morals. To bring up her father's infidelity, how it traumatized her, and she would never. Then 2 pages later she's screwing the man. 3. There's is no build-up of a relationship, no sense of a conflict. Jamie does a cursory "we shouldn't" speech, then Nathan grabs her, kisses her, and she's climbing him like a damn tree?! Ugh.
Errors 4. How is it possible to misplace quotation marks so much? 5. Did she really have the name of Jamie's bad date be the same as her driver? It's confusing as hell and I had to convince myself that yes, she met the man online and he wasn't her damn employee.
I could go on and on but basically I refuse to waste anymore time on this.

Jamie was very annoying to me, I couldn't stand her character she was to uppity for me. She gave zero f about the wife this mistress don't get sympathy from me. Nathan was all about himself interest. When Jamie was alone for 6 months, she should 've just sit down and ate her food. This book was ok.
