Draw Faces: How to Speed Draw Faces and Portraits in 15 Minutes

Rate this book
Learn to draw a portrait in 15 minutes!
In the past ten years, I have earned thousands of dollars sitting at events and drawing fast sketches of people’s faces. I got faster and more precise as I kept practicing, but I also discovered you need some basic knowledge to even give it a try. While you’re sketching as fast as you can and looking at the facial features, analyzing everything in your brains, there are certain tricks you can apply, questions you have to ask yourself when you’re analyzing a face, and tips you should know in order to minimize the time you spend on them.

In this book, I will tell you what I know, give you a number of examples, and take you through what I have found to be the most effective steps when you’re sketching a portrait.

This is a unique method that will help you become better faster. Don’t wait and grab this fantastic chance of becoming a fast portrait artist!

Drawing faces has always eluded me--usually my sketches end up making harmless-looking people look like deranged psychos, so I had a look through this book. It's a basic introduction into drawing faces, very short, and shows a few examples each of eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, face/hair outline. I will probably do a slightly better job of drawing faces now that I have read this, but like I said, it's very short and I don't think I'll be charging for portraits from the sidewalk anytime soon. I did like how the artist talked about why drawing certain things were awkward, like open mouths and such. He also talks about which pencil to use for which feature. 3.5 stars

Terrible instruction

The instruction in this book was very amateurish I cannot recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn how to draw people or faces

This is a very basic book about quickly capturing faces. In that, it's helpful. I have other more in depth books on drawing realistic portraits but they're all assuming you have a refrence photo and all the time in the world. This book teaches you how to get a good refrence sketch out in the world. One that you can go in and touch up later, or leave how it is.

Very helpful!

Looking forward to implementing your suggestions. Teeth are clear now, never thought of gums. Better understanding of my pencils, thanks.
