I really enjoyed this read. Alec was such a great MMC, his loyalty to his human mate was very swoon worthy. I loved the slow burn and tension between Alec and Kayla as she tries to navigate a world entirely to her. The cliffhanger at the end leaves you absolutely speechless.

I knew I would enjoy Mate before finishing the first section of Chapter one. I was grinning at Alec's character and really felt his frustrations with his mother's meddling. It made me think of Lady Bridgerton trying to get her sons to marry. Once chapter one was finished I realised I would love this whole story ❤️.  The whole chapter had good pace and characters I immediately loved. I just couldn't wait for the FMC and MMC to meet.

So much to love from the sassy friendship between Missy and the FMC Kayla, the brotherly bond between Alec and Elliot and the numerous witty conversations throughout. Suspense filled moments and such sizzling chemistry this was a spicy fated-mates romance that I didn't want to put down.

The plot kept upping the suspense and action as Kayla and Alec fight all odds to stay together. The uncertainty had me really question who they should be trusting, I have sooo many theories on who might be responsible for the rogue attacks.

The characters just felt real and unique. However i felt the exes were a bit under developed. The slightly cliché bitchy wolf ex predictably caused issues throughout the story. Seeming to never take no for an answer. Then Scott shows similar desperation and he causes so much jealousy for poor Alec. I felt she should have ended things with Scott far sooner, though I'm also glad she didn't just immediately end things the second she was getting attention from Alec. She tried to give him a chance but after several of chapters it just felt bit forced. I feel she wasn't being fair to either male by dragging it out. I couldn't wait for her to end things and loved that her best friend clearly never liked him.

“Tell the dipshit I say he’s a prick,” she calls out before the door closes.

Our FMC was constantly overwhelmed as she and her best friend try to come to grips with werewolves, mates, magic and the danger Kayla is in as a human mate to the Alpha. I just loved thier playful, easy, friendship and loyalty, the ability to tell eachother hard truths and support eachother. They have clearly been good friends for many years.

Our MMC, Alec doesnt have an easy time of it, either, as he must constantly wrestle his desires and his inner wolf. Alec is desperate to respect his mate and give her time to build real feelings for him and learn about pack life. His respect of her was so refreshing, he didnt want to pressurise her into a relationship ven when her being with Scott was causing him physica pain. Yet he was constantly pushed to be near her and the primal need to claim his mate.

Dex is the wolf inside Alec. He hardly ever seems to agree with Alec leading to some hillarious moments as they argue. Dex's personality is playful, possessive yet deadly. I laughed often at thier interal arguments then kicking my feet with glee when he spoke to Kayla in that growly sexy voice. Loved how Kayla treated him as a separate person welcoming time with Dex in wolf or human body where Alec is pushed back into an observer.

The cliffhanger ending had me so cross because why did it need to end on such a cliffhanger! I can't cope, i need to know what happens! My emotions are everywhere even after taking time to calm myself to write this review. Wow! I didn't see that coming!

If you love fated mate (Wolf x Human) books this one is for you. Alpha Alec Stone is the Alpha of his pack, his parents are wanting him to find a Luna for his pack but Alex really wants to find his fated mate. Kayla Write is a human event planner, in a relationship with a guy named Scott but their relationship hasn't been going well for a very long time. Alec ends up hiring Kayla for a pack event (of course she doesn't know about werewolves) once Alec smells her he realizes that she is his. Things get complicated..and well I don't want to get into details because it will spoil the book. But this does end in an epic cliffhanger! (How could you do this to us! Lol) I absolutely cannot wait to read more of this series...it was so good! I recieved an advance reader copy of this book for an honest voluntary review.

His Wolf Has Opinions, Every Single One Is Correct, and That Ending Owes Me an Apology

Mate, by Evelyn Parker is a steamy, possessive read that makes you question how much of love is chemistry and how much of it is choice, and it makes both sides of that question hurt. Kayla Write is an event planner who’s good at her job, sharper than people give her credit for, and six years into a relationship with a man who checks his phone through their dinners and spends his weekends anywhere but home. She’s convinced she still loves Scott, or at least that their history deserves another chance, so when a billionaire client shakes her hand and sends sparks up her arm, she tells herself it’s nothing.

It isn’t nothing. Alec Stone is the CEO of the biggest tech company in the world and, unbeknownst to her, the Alpha of the largest werewolf pack in the Western Hemisphere. His family is pressuring him to choose a Luna, and he’s been biding his time, waiting for a fated mate he’s starting to believe doesn’t exist. Then he catches her scent, and his mate turns out to be human, and taken.

What surprised me most is how hard the bond hits Alec. He feels it physically when his mate is intimate with someone else, and the author doesn’t soften that pain. Distance from her wears him down in ways that affect everything he’s responsible for. And the bond doesn’t just make him want her; it strips his control in a way I rarely see in shifter stories. Most shifter books treat the mate bond as a certainty the hero wears with ease. Here, it costs Alec his footing, and that makes his restraint mean so much more, because you can see exactly what it’s taking from him.

And then there’s Dex. I loved that Dex isn’t just a wolf living in Alec’s soul or a growl in the back of his mind. He’s his own character, with his own voice, opinions, and sense of humor, and he interacts with the people around him rather than just influencing Alec. Their back-and-forth had me laughing, and the push and pull between the man who wants to do this the right way and the wolf who has zero patience for it gives the romance a dynamic I don’t see often in this genre. It made the story feel fresh.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t like Kayla at first. For a stretch, it felt like she wanted Alec’s attention without having to make a choice, and that made it hard to root for her. But she grew on me. She keeps two offices, one with dark wood and bourbon for male clients and a softer one for women, because she knows how to market herself before she markets anyone else. As the story goes on, she shows a backbone and a sense of fairness that win me over, and by the end, I'm fully in her corner.

The supporting cast is just as fun. Sloane is the voice of reason who isn’t afraid to tell her Alpha he’s being an idiot, Elliott keeps Alec grounded when he’s about to lose it, and Shaun gets rejected by woman after woman and couldn’t care less. Missy, Kayla’s best friend, delivers some of the book's funniest lines.

The pace does drag in the first half. Many early scenes follow the same pattern: attraction, near-misses, and someone stepping in to stop Alec at the last second, and the tension starts to loop instead of build. The bigger external conflict takes a while to show up. Fair warning: this one is open door, very explicit, and frequent. Content warnings include attempted sexual assault and graphic violence.

The world has a lot of interesting pieces I’d have liked to see built out. It hints at Elders, witches, pack hierarchy, and traditions that bind people together for life, but it mostly mentions them and moves past them. More than anything, I wanted to know why Kayla can feel a bond that humans aren’t supposed to feel. The book raises that question more than once and never answers it. I suspect, or at least hope, many of these "holes" will be addressed in the next book.

And that ending. I screamed, threw my Kindle, picked it back up, and checked for a next chapter that wasn’t there.. I won’t say a word about it, but I am desperate to get my hands on the second book and find out what happens to Kayla and Alec.

Verdict: Read it for Dex, a wolf who’s a real character and not just a voice. Push through the slow start, because the last chapter will leave you begging for book two.

I received an advanced copy of this book free of charge, but all opinions are my own

This book made me both laugh and cry, and my heart swelled, and the spice was spicing enough that *I* felt the mate sparks!! I adored this book, and I felt everything the characters were feeling. Alec’s pain when Kayla was with Scott, Kayla’s guilt and regret, and Dex’s possessiveness and adoration for Kayla.

I really loved how Dex wasn’t just some voice in Alec’s head, but he had a personality, and Alec and Dex had a great back-and-forth dynamic with lots of banter. I adored the sections from Dex’s POV just as much as I did the ones from Alec’s.

The book is a little slow and repetitive to start off, and at first, I honestly thought Kayla was the WORST, but she warmed up to me rather fast. Her best friend Missy is funny, and delivers all of the best lines in the book, and the beta female, Sloane, was such a cutie!!

My favourite characters were obviously Alec and Dex, their dynamic was top notch. You can tell that they’re two different personalities, and they both obviously love Kayla and would do anything for her, but they have two different opinions on how to do it.

I liked how most of the world building came from Alec telling Kayla about it, and helping her understand it, and not just Alec telling us, like I find it is in so many other paranormal and fantasy books. There was more world building that was mostly hinted at, like Elders and witches, as well as werewolf hierarchy and traditions. I am hoping this will be expanded upon in the next book, which I am fully SAT for! Also because of the ending, because WTF

Ohh, that ending!! o.0

The storyline on this book was fantastic! A compelling read that's hard to put down once the story gets going. The side characters were great and the MMC and his wolf made for such an interesting dynamic that really made this book shine. To be able to have his wolf as a whole extra character in the story gave it a huge amount of depth.

Be warned though, if you need a book to have a happily ever after... but damn... it's good! I thought my ereader was broken at first when no more pages turned, and I sat there in shock when I realised that no... that was just the end. Well played, author... well played :D :D (sadistic, but brilliant!)

I admit, I wasn't sold on Kayla at first, I found her to be a bit boring and her thoughts repetitive... but I continued on because I loved Alec, and OMG Dex is really what made the book for me!! Seriously chef's kiss. The mixture of playfulness and raw strength/aggression was really enjoyable to read. (That picnic scene!!.... awwwwwwwwwwwww)

By about halfway through is where I think the story became excellent, and I was absolutely hooked. There's a whole background of stuff happening around the 2 characters romance, and that made for a thrilling read, waiting to see how all of that would play out and affect the couple.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. GIMME MORE!!

ARC Review: Mates
I read this book in just two days, and I absolutely loved it! The story pulled me in, and I was invested in the characters from beginning to end. The author did a fantastic job developing the characters and making you fall in love with them. However, be prepared because this book does end on a cliffhanger!
⚠️ This review contains some spoilers!
One thing I didn’t particularly care for was how vulnerable and weak the alpha seemed when he wasn’t around his mate. If you’ve read the book, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
It also becomes pretty obvious that the trouble happening within the pack is a direct result of his ex’s actions. And the significance of the ring Alec wears seems fairly self-evident, especially when you consider how everything unfolds.
One aspect I found especially interesting was the unique role of the two gammas. I haven’t come across this concept before, where they can help heal their Luna, whether the wounds are physical or emotional. I thought that was a really neat and refreshing twist!
Despite a few things I questioned, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am definitely looking forward to reading the next one to find out what happens. That cliffhanger has me wanting more!
Overall, I highly recommend this book! If you enjoy shifter romances, pack dynamics, and a story that leaves you eager for the next installment, this one is worth picking up. You will not be disappointed!

🔥 Mate by Evelyn Parker – A Must Read! 🔥

I absolutely loved this book! I love wolf shifter books, although it’s been a while since I’ve read one, so at first, I found it a little strange getting used to the wolf being a separate entity with its own name within the same body. However, once I got into the story, I was completely hooked!

The book is told from three different POVs, which I really enjoyed, and I honestly could not put it down. I read it in just two days, which is the quickest I have ever read a book! That says everything about how much this story pulled me in.

And the chemistry between Kayla and Alec? 🔥🥵 Absolutely incredible! This book is hot, steamy and addictive, and I was completely invested in their story.

But OMG, THAT ENDING! 😱 I was left screaming and immediately needing Book 2 like YESTERDAY! How am I supposed to wait for the next instalment after that?!

If you love wolf shifters, sizzling chemistry and a story that will have you hooked from start to finish, then this is definitely a MUST READ!

Now excuse me while I struggle with the fact that I have to wait for the next book. 😭🐺❤️

Review of an Advanced Reader Copy

Wow! What a ride!!
I was a little confused in the beginning and it took me a little bit to really get into it, but once it picks up, you’re locked in! I almost finished it in a day.
The writing sometimes felt like I was missing something sometimes and I would have to go back and check that I didn’t.
Overall, the book was great!
Kayla is a human who meets Alec (and Dex, Alec’s werewolf) that is an Alpha werewolf. They are mates, but as Kayla is human she isn’t aware. She feels the connection when they shake hands, and is instantly drawn towards Alec. However, Kayla has been in a 6 year long relationship with Scott. Scott’s an a-hole anyway, so we’re just gonna kick him to the curb.
Meanwhile, Alec and Kayla’s chemistry starts ramping up. Kayla finds out Alec is a werewolf and then everything is explained to her.
Apparently though, it’s like a big deal that Kayla is human so there are others who start threatening Alec to reject the bond.
So anyways, the ending was crazy and I’m ready for book 2 (there better be a book 2!!!!)
Be ready to be sucked in through the drama, the spice, the yearning, and everything in between!!

Mate- is a title that screams read me!
I love a fated mates story more than any other and I rather enjoy when the female is not a wolf. So this is checking boxes all over the place. I love the characters, Alec is the Alpha dreams are made of. Dex, Alec's wolf, a whole character of his own and one not to be dismissed. Kayla a solicitous human "Luna" . A great beta couple and a charming and funny delta just to name a few. I'm pretty invested, and this ends on a huge cliff hanger! I kept clicking the button and the page did not turn, didn't give me more, just sat on those two devastating words "The End" so I am struggling right now! I have a pretty big suspicion I know something, but it will be pure torture waiting to see how it all turns out. I know this is a turn off for a lot of readers but I don't regret it one bit I fully enjoyed the time spent with the Howlite Stone pack and will be patiently waiting for book 2.

Alec is an Alpha, he's got big emotions ... kind of like a three-year-old.
This whole interaction had me grinning from ear to ear.

A rich, hot, werewolf alpha and his human mate. Been there, done that. So, the majority of books containing these tropes - even if I like them - are sadly mediocre at best.

BUT this is is NOT an issue with MATE by Evelyn Parker. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Fot once, beeing a mate doesn't automatically mean great love or just being together. Nope. Alec really needs to sweat to convince Kayla to even give him a chance. Moreover, even if she isn't happy in her previous relationship, she remains faithful and loyal. Alec doesn't have it easy...

Letting Kayla know about werewolves does not go as Alec would like. It is good for the plot and makes our hot Alpha grovelling. Who doesn't like it? 😉

As for minor issues - as for me, there was too much of initial "coincidence", meaning how Kayla got to work for a pack. Also I am not quite convinced about all the results of claiming a mate.

Still, if you like these tropes, you will enjoy the novel 😁

I got a free copy as an ARC reader and I am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.

I received an advance reader copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Evelyn Parker created an addictive, high-stakes paranormal romance with MATE! From the moment Alpha Alec Stone meets Kayla Write as a client for Stone Technologies, the magnetic attraction and forbidden tension between them make their connection intriguing. Watching Alec struggle with his primal urges while trying to win Kayla’s heart, all while Kayla navigates her career and existing relationship, adds plenty of emotional conflict to the story.

The chemistry, secrets, and constant pull between destiny and reality make this an engaging read. The forbidden werewolf-and-human mate dynamic brings plenty of romantic tension, and the cliffhanger ending will leave readers eager to find out what happens next!

If you love paranormal romance featuring fated mates, forbidden attraction, secret identities, and intense romantic tension, MATE is one to check out! 🐺🖤

Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC. 💜📚

Read as an ARC read and I zipped right through this one! Read in about 24 hours or so. It was different from other werewolf books I've read in that we get the perspective of the MMC's wolf as a POV. I haven't read a book where the wolf is a completely different entity within the host person so that was strange but interesting.

I think the yearning was yearningggggg in this book and that made it very hard to put down. There was tension galore for over 50% of the book before the MCs finally got together properly.

We grt multiple POVs and therefore get to the see the emotional growth and depth of each MC throughout. I liked both MCs, neither was super immature or unreasonable, they both wanted what was best for each other and interacted like reasonable adults.

I wouldn't say there was a ton of action in the book but the author is definitely setting up for the rest of the series. It does end on a cliffhanger... boooo but I'll be coming back for the next book for sure.

I got this book as an ARC read and I have to say I loved it! There were just some parts that left me wanting more of a wrap up with explanations and background for why certain actions were happening and then there were other parts that seemed repetitive, like Kayla's struggle to accept Alec. That being said, Alec's patience with Kayla is so sweet! I want to see more of Shaun and Missy...and I want to know why they disappeared on that weekend getaway. Huge hole! Sometimes Shaun seems suspicious and I am wary of his assumed closeness with certain rogues, but other times he seems loyal. Is it just a matter of time until he snaps because everyone loves to pick on him as the "third strongest" wolf? This book made me laugh and gasp and have the swoon feelings, so I would recommend a read or add to your TBR but be warned....it is a SLOW SLOW 🐌 WORTHY BURN to spice and that cliffhanger is rated at 9.5 for leaving you wanting to know WTH happened?!?!?!? So when is the next book coming out????

* ARC reader review 🤍*

And just like that, after a whirlwind of 24 hours, I am reminded why I love fated mates and werewolf stories!

Evelyn Parker has written a story that very smoothly, at first, and with a smile, grips you by the hand from page 1 and then drags you through it all in one breath. It was in less than 24 hours that I emerged at the end, and what an end it was (spoiler alert - the cliffhanger ending is torturous).

This book is everything you would want from that genre - easy reading, whole lot of emotion, choice, decision struggles, and a steaming hot fated mate situation.

I am literally left gasping and frantically searching for information on the next book!

Thank you, Evelyn and team, for the ARC opportunity, but mostly about this amazing story I got the chance to read! 🤍

I love a shifter story, and this one had a human as the Alpha's fated mate. Alec felt the connection immediately in Kayla's presence as well as when they touched. Kayla felt tingling in her hand but was confused as to what it meant. Dex, Alec's wolf, was all in from the beginning and kept pushing Alec to claim her. Alec was more cautious and wanted to be sure he wasn't pressing her to do something that she might not want.

I like how Alec's team protected and accepted her, especially his Beta who cautioned him not to take it slow but get the job done. There is both OM drama and OW drama -- Kayla's STBX boyfriend, and Chelsia, the wanna be Luna. I wanted both of them to be struck by lightning.

I was really getting into the story, Alec and Kayla were having happy times in the shower, and when I turned the page there was no page to turn!!! (Im)patiently waiting for the next book.

This was an ARC read ... and it was another wow. I love shifter stories, they are one of my favorites, and I read a lot of them ... So to find something with again a different, not just another were story, is always a fun discovery! We meet Kayla, human - Alec, Alpha male and Dex, Alpha wolf ... this is a 3 POV coz you get to see it from the wolf's perspective too! Which makes it hilarious at times (the in mind(scape as they call it there) banter between Alec and Dex) and easier to get into his POV in general. And with Kayla you get the struggle any human would have in this situation, fear of the unknown, making life altering decisions, doubts etc ... I loved every second of it, until it said The END ! I hope we don't have to wait too long for part 2 coz ... I want to know!!! Oh yeah if you read this, you will know what I mean, and you will join me! I was not ready for that!!!

ARC Review.

This book was everything you could want in a warewolf romance!

Ill keep this short and sweet as i am someone who doesnt want to read a big review, im sure there is people out there the same.

Fated mates ✅
Slow Burn✅ but not too slow
Multiple POV✅

The main thing i loved about this book was the personalities of the main characters. No alpha-hole and whiney FMC ❤️

This book was a terrific easy read with the multiple POVs through the chapters, getting to know the wolf in Alec’s body was icing on the cake.

The ending will have you screaming and crying.

I will be coming back for book 2

I was sent this book for to review free so this is my honest review.

If you love a wolf who is sweet and kind and not an alphahole this is the book for you.
Such a beautiful romace.

This one started off SO strong. I was immediately hooked and couldn’t wait to see where things were going.

First of all, Kayla’s boyfriend was an absolute POS (although I’m not entirely sure that was intentional). Thankfully, Alec came along, and talk about right place, right time.

I loved that Kayla, despite being human, seems to have some very werewolf-like senses. I feel like that’s hinting at something, and I’m so curious to see if I’m right.

Somewhere around the middle, though, it felt like the plot had stalled out a bit. I was still enjoying the story, but it definitely lost some of the momentum from the beginning.

BUT THAT ENDING?! A CLIFFHANGER?! I have so many questions, and now I NEED to know what happens next. Despite the slower middle, I’m invested.

I received this book and am ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this book. It was fun, entertaining and light hearted. That being said, it felt quite cliche. It reminds me a lot of the Wattpad werewolf books I use to read a lot as a teen.
I liked the main characters but man was it frustrating seeing Kayla stay with a guy she clearly lost feelings for and not just ending it when she isn't getting anything from the relationship and clearly desires Alec.
The writing wasnt bad, it just had that familiar troupe heavy feel to it. Over all I liked it but it didn't blow me away or surprise me.

I was given and ARC of this book. My opinion is freely given.

This was such a fun, emotional ride! The highlight by far is the dynamic between Alpha Alec and his wolf, Dex—having Dex as his own distinct character with great banter added so much depth. While it starts off a little slow and Kayla took some time to grow on me, the incredible chemistry, top-tier spice, and side characters like Missy totally won me over. Natural world-building and hints of a bigger supernatural society make it so promising. Fair warning: the ending is a major cliffhanger, and I am desperately ready for the next book!

"Don't be afraid, little human, I love you more than the light of day."

I was so horny whilst reading this book. Amazing.

The tension, the relationship, the mate bond, Dex, Alec.... Perfection 🤌🏼❤️

Dex reminded me of my own dog, so "fearless" big though guy in his own mind and what a cute little pup after all 🥰 I need more of them together!

"You need to behave because I only have so much self-control. I want you more than anything, but I won't take you until you're mine."

Are you kidding me with that ending?? I did NOT see that coming 😱

Alpha Alec Stone is leader of the strongest werewolf pack in the USA.

He has an issue with an event he is hosting and for once has to get a human to run the event. What he didn’t expect to happen when he met her, that she would be his fated mate.

Kayla is a human but also has a boyfriend, for 6 years. Things hadn’t been going well between Kayla and Scott but her feelings become more confused once Alec is on the scene.

Gripping story as human/werwolf/rogue werewolves attacking strands keep you guessing.

The second half of the book felt as if it dragged slightly but it ends on a cliffhanger. So can’t wait to read next one

Mate by Evelyn Parker is an absolute home run and everything I love to read in a shifter romance! I knew this book was going to be a winner right from the opening chapters, and it was so hard to put down once I started.

The world-building and the character development throughout the story were both fantastic. You really get sucked into the pack dynamics, the tension, and the emotional stakes.

My only (minor!) disappointment, though it's a testament to how good it is, was that it suddenly ended on such a dramatic, heart-stopping cliffhanger. I am desperate for more! I sincerely hope the second book comes out soon so I can dive right back in and escape into Alec and Kayla's world.

If you love agonizing slow burn followed by burning chemistry and connectivity you will love this book! A wolf shifter book written in 3 different perspectives as the wolf and his human form are 2 different entities but one in the same and Kayla their mate make 3. Making this book something different from most shifter books I have read. I was hooked from beginning to infuriating and suspenseful end and am now impatiently waiting for the next book in the series! I will recommend this book to anyone that likes werewolves and shifters!

I devoured this book! And that ending… MY GOD!

It’s a fast-paced, easy, and fun read that keeps you hooked from the beginning. The main characters are well-written, and the story makes you want to keep turning the pages. The love, frustration, angst, and internal struggles are so palpable that you really feel immersed in the story.

Would absolutely recommend! I’m hooked and cannot wait for the next book!

I had the privilege of reading this ARC. The book quickly consumed me. I loved the pace and the MMC and his pack are wonderful. I usually dislike putting werewolves in this super rich, high society context but it came up rarely enough to not annoy me. Some characters motivations and actions stayed unclear - but that turned out to be a good setup for wanting to read the next book in the series.
I sometimes had trouble keeping up with the timeline, it was in parts not quite clear how much time had progressed.

I got an advanced copy of this book and I could not put it down. Every time I woke up in the middle of the night I grabbed my kindle and read more, then when I was so exhausted I had to sleep again I'd lie there looking forward to my next reading session.
I absolutely love wolf shifter/fated mates books. I've read so many over the years and this one made me fall in love all over again.
But that ending!!! Omg I need the next book now!
This first book was delicious in every way and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2

Read as an ARC. Really injoyed this read. Had me on the side of my seat almost thought out the hole book. Really hope book 2 comes soon. Absolutely need it. I must know what happens next. Love the MFC energy, never gives up no matter what life throws at her and also the MMC energy touche and dead but a real soft for his women, what can you ask more. Never read a shift book were you have the wolfs point of view and that he is his own mind. Recommend it if you like werewolf/ mate books.
