Generous Life Journey

Rate this book
At twenty-three-years-old, even though I was a new Christian, I thought I knew everything, and I set out to prove the Bible wrong. Then, the church I was attending announced they were going to have a twelve-week Bible study on finances. I asked myself, "What could the church possibly teach about business and money management out of the Bible?" I thought it was a joke or a trick to get me to give more money.

That small group study brought me to the intersection of faith and finances. We will all come to this intersection at some time in our lives. How we navigate when we get there will go a long way in determining our success in our walk with God and in life. Picture in your mind what your church would look like if your people were financially free. Dwell on that image. Dwell on the impact your financially-free congregation could have on your community, on the world.

This book is the story of how my encounter with God forever changed my life course, and taught me how you handle finances is an issue of your heart.

This book is written by Pastor Gunnar Johnson, (not Pastor Robert Morris, who wrote the foreword), the stewardship pastor at Gateway Church. He presents a Biblical perspective of finances, not based on any one program, but on simply understanding what God's Word says about the subject. I highly recommend this book. We as believers need to have a good understanding of how stewarding our finances is honoring to God and builds His Kingdom.
