The book I read was called tracked. The setting of this book took place in Costa Rica. The story of this is book is about a girl named Raven and how she witnessed a murder a year ago in Costa Rica. She has returned to face her demons and find answers. At the same time a boy named Kyle has come to Costa Rica to find a doctor named Dr.Portman. Kyle is a clone along with some others who have inherited supernatural abilities. He enters into Ravens life and tries to help her with problems. They soon find out that there lives are connects with this doctor. Raven is soon attacked and injected with something and they find out its a tracker. Soon Kyle's friends come down to put a stop to the doctor and help get rid of the trackers. Raven finds out about Kyle and the others and soon realizes that she also has supernatural abilities due to the tracker. A man named Felipe and dr.Portman come after Raven and the others. They all soon go into hiding, then Raven goes to the spot of the murder to see if there were any connections to now. The doctor and Felipe hold her hostage and make her remember to help her see how it all fits to together. After she knows the truth dr.Portman stabs her in the chest to get the tracker out of her, as she is dying Kyle and the rest help save her and put the doctor in jail. In the end Raven has to decide whether to keep her abilities, she soon decide to keep them and plains to head with Kyle to help her control her abilities.
In the book I saw many cultural differences with the Costa Rican people than people in the US. The people down there live a very different life. They play music in the streets and have dancing to give a warm vibrant feeling. The foods they have are different, they eat certain foods that aren't that common for the American people. The style of there is clothes Is different as well is there way of life. They people in Costa Rica certain there lives around religion. They make everything they do off religion to help them and others in life.
The authors purpose for writing this text was to how the worst things can happen to people but they always can over conquer the problems. The evidence I have to support this is that the whole book is about this. Raven witnesses a terrible event which lead to the death of a friend and her in pain and misery. Her decided to return to Costa Rica to help bring closure to her friends and herself show how this awful event had control of her life but now she wants to be in control and conquer the pain. She is finding clues and asking many questions when she returns, she has dreams to see if anything new happens. She even goes through a trance to get the memories back to feel closure and help get the murderer who ruined her life and many others around. The theme of this book can many like the theme of control over one another or how much you try to hide something it always resurfaces in your life. Evidence to prove these themes is the event that happened that Raven. This murder had total control over her and what her life should be. It made her more scared to do anything, she felt like doing anything would result in a murder again. The murder kept around her 24/7 in her thoughts and dreams. With the other theme it is shown in Costa Rica. She came to help her parents but soon people start asking her questions about the event even though she didn't want to talk about it. Even though she didn't want anything to do with the event it came back to her life in a major way. She kept it hidden as long as she could until it was necessary for her to find out and resurface back into her life.
I would definitely recommend this book. This book has so many good things about it. It has mystery, adventure, action, betrayal and love. A lot happens in this book and the way the author ties everything together is so good. She does it like a perfect bow on a present. The connection between the characters is amazing and fascinating. The author knows how to connect to the audience to make them feel wanted and she makes the story make you sit on the edge of your seat most of the time, she makes you want to read more with great cliffhangers, so in my full opinion I would stronger recommend reading this book.
