The last thing Slade wants is to be in charge of anyone but himself. The military taught him the price of being in command. Dave Logan is on his honeymoon though, and leaves him right where he doesn’t want to be. Things go from bad to worse very quickly when a prince’s son is kidnapped, and Deep Six is on the verge of losing its biggest security contract on his watch.

The head of security at the hotel gets fired over the incident and Slade thinks teaming up with small, but fiesty Taylor Kincaid to find the boy is smart. As the situation unravels though, he sees that there is a lot more to it than meets the eye and Taylor could be in just as much trouble as the missing child. When the full picture becomes clear, Slade realizes they are all in trouble and he has some tough choices to make that could cost him the only woman he’s even considered letting himself love in a very long time.

I see I'm going to be in the minority with my review on this one. Having read SEALed Fate (book 1.5 in the series) which I really liked Twisted Honor no longer had any surprise factor to it as you already knew what was going to happen. No we had not personally met the two main characters but the whole suspense plot and outcome was already told in SEALed Fate.

I dont have a problem with plots that crossover to other books in a series but you dont usually know all the pertinent information already – who did it – why they did it - and who died, etc. I read suspense for the suspense and there wasnt any here (if you'd already read the previous book).

One thing I did enjoy was the service dog. This dog had served with Slade over in Afghanistan and now was his best friend who helped him in many ways.

This book has every necessary ingredient to keep a reader turning pages non-stop from cover to cover. The action keeps coming at you, but it's not all about that. This is a story of two perfectly competent, yet damaged, people who not only have a job to get done in order to save a kidnapped child, but a connection that just may allow each of them to heal after years of damage. And the heat between them...hooooweeee! Add in appearances by some of our Deep Six Security favorites, along with a dose of some scorching new characters and it's the perfect recipe for spending an afternoon utterly entertained. If you have not yet one clicked this book, do it now!

As Deep Six Security's 2IC, Slade has been left in charge while David Logan and his new bride Susan are away on their honeymoon. Things quickly go south when the son of a client goes missing and when Taylor (who is head of security at the hotel where things go wrong) gets fired over the incident, Slade brings her into Deep Six as an asset, but finds she may have more problems than he has. Sparks fly as egos and genders collide. This series has it all - romance, alpha men, humour AND strong, feisty, self-assured women (YAY)- not to mention great character development and well written storylines. Can't wait to read whose next on the Deep Six Hit List!

This book took me so long to read and at chapter 25, I'm done. I just can't slog through it anymore. The characters are working with chemistry and making love noises and it's been such a jerky ride with stories coming out of everywhere that just don't seem to quite go anywhere. I mean so much chatter about Jaxson... Moved on. So much chatter about the Sheik, finished. There's not even a have it out with Tariq. Depressing. I don't want to see if Taylor and Slade get together. I want the next book, which will hopefully not be such a cluster f$&k.

Taylor Kincaid was a head security of an exclusive hotel. That was until something happened that cost her, her job. Slade at Deep Six Security meets her and asks if she wants to work for them. This is a wonderful and suspenseful story. It does contain some profanity and sex so it isn't for everyone. The story is great. I especially liked the conversation between Lola and Buddy. Good job Becky McGraw. Great book No spoilers you have to read it to find out what happens

Becky McGraw has done it again. She brings you characters that you can't help but fall in love with. I really loved this book. My heart broke for both Slade and Taylor for all they went through in their lives. It's well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I also fell in love with the epilogue. To see it written from the dogs point of view was so sweet. Also we find out they get married which is great!!!! Can't wait for the next book. Would recommend this book!

I was disappointed with the 2nd book in the series. Maybe it was because I loved the 1st one so much. The H and h in the 2nd book didn't have the same great chemistry as Dave and Susan did from the 1st book. Slade's character in the 1st book was playful and flirty, but he seemed to lose those qualities in the 2nd book. The author should have paired Taylor with Jaxson, and Slade with Cee Cee. Now that would have been an explosive story. There wasn't really a good explanation as to why Taylor and Slade were attracted to each other. It almost felt like the author was trying to force together two people that didn't fit.
Certain instances in the story seemed completely ridiculous and unbelievable. Taylor having no concept of different styles of sex besides kink was nonsense. She hopped up on the bed for doggystyle because she automatically assumed that was the only sexual position. I mean really?!! After she describes some very terrible instances of prior sexual abuse and Slade wants to immediately show her how a real man has sex with a woman, I couldn't help thinking a real man would have been getting her some counselling before putting his hands on her at all.
And, the incident in the woods where Taylor evades being shot by batting her eyelashes and puffing up her chest was beyond unbelievable. I mean a trained assassin isn't going to fall for allowing a woman to keep inching up on him because he is so distracted by her boobs.
In summary, I never felt invested in this story like I did with the 1st book. I couldn't put the 1st book down, but this one was hard to read to the end. I will continue on with the series though because Cade has definitely caught my attention. I am eagerly anticipating his story.

What a great read. John Cash Slade is left in charge of Deep Six Security when Dave Logan and his wife Susan are on their honeymoon. Slade does not like being in charge. Of course, something major happens. The team is working security for a Saudi prince when his son his kidnapped. Slade hires Taylor Kincaid who his fired as head of hotel security when the child is kidnapped. Slade and his dog, Lola, were in the military together. They left after both were severely injured and many on their team were killed. Lola serves as a service dog because Slade has PTSD. He hasn't had a full blown attack in a couple of years but he has one with Taylor. Taylor is familiar because she was involved with someone who had PTSD. Slade is a one and done kind of guy. He thinks the only girl he needs in his life is Lola. Slade and Taylor get together but he tries to push her away. They are able to rescue the child and stop a terrorist attack. This is great press for Deep Six. Slade tries a new therapy that Taylor tells him about. She also goes to therapy. This helps him see that he can love and he wants to explore his relationship with Taylor.

Mixed feelings

Slade is written as a wounded warrior with PTSD. Taylor is a woman struggling in a man's world where she's not taken seriously, partly due to her small size. She supposedly has a lot to offer professionally but that is hardly shown in this story. They both have issues from past trauma and hers is a real surprise. It's somewhat unbelievable that she thought it was normal.

Some of the actions are contradictory. Spoiler alert: The issue with the bomb is explainable but he doesn't ask and she doesn't realize this means he has trust issues. At one point she is shot in the arm but later doesn't have a wound and doesn't need treatment. There are several other things I won't bother to list.

Slade flips between being nice and mean to Taylor several times but it takes her way too long to realize he has past girlfriend trauma.

I debated between 3, 3.5 and 4 stars for this story. I liked a lot of it and have put the next book in the series on my to be read list, but several things just weren't good, including the epilogue which settles it at 3 stars.

Why on earth would Dave Logan leave the class clown in charge of his company while he’s off with his woman? This is the question that currently plagues Slade (technically Dave’s second in charge) when he opens an ominous box left on his desk. And of course, everything that can go wrong will; a kidnapping, a resignation, and a pint-sized woman with attitude to the max, and that’s just his first day as boss!

Yes, there were aspects of this story that crossed over with SEALed Fate, but this was necessary to the telling of the story. The things readers already knew were minor and not explained in detail in the previous story.

I really liked Slade and Taylor together; Slade with his surface funny man persona that hid the deeper side to his nature, and Taylor with her ballsy in-your-face sass, that masked the innocent young woman who had a sordid and fragile past. Twisted Honor was a great addition to the Deep Six Security series and left me wanting more.

Slade and Taylor are just such a brilliant mismatched couple!

Slade wants nothing to do with being the boss until he realises he can hire all the people that Dave has been dawdling on!

First up is CeCe, Dave's sister. He is going to blow a gasket when he finds out. But when a young boy is kidnapped whilst in the care of Deep Six, Slade's time in charge is just about to get really hairy!

Taylor is a strong but naive woman. She was cornered into an unhealthy relationship with her past boyfriends and when she and Slade connect, she stuns him with her lack of knowledge about a healthy, consensual, loving relationship. Well he'll just have to tutor her!

Great read. I did want to smack Slade on several occasions - as a level headed, pro-female advocate he can be a bit of a caveman sometimes LOL.

I had read this book before but on a sleeplessness night picked up my kindle to read for a few minutes to settle my mind.
Tip: This is not the book to do that with.
Hours later I finished the book again after waking my husband with a few fits of giggles that were not well suppressed. (His new nickname is Grumpy.)
The story sucks you in quickly and refuses to let you go. You'll love the dynamics of the team and if you haven't read the first book in this series it's ok. The way it's written you can easily drop in on the team's goings on at this point. That being said, I'm willing to bet you buy the rest of the series too, including the first book! I loved this book and can't wait to go through the series again now!

Just okay.

When I read the book synopsis, I thought there would be more dogs and more humor. Unfortunately, the female protagonist, Taylor, was a conflicted jumble of insecurity and hard-headedness. I will give character the benefit of the doubt--perhaps if she had succeeded in getting her MP training, she wouldn't have reacted the way she did after the incident in the woods. I think Lola was my favorite character!

Not for me

Started out ok then got so disjointed I kept getting lost. Kept going into different directions and the main characters swept along with it all and once again with no direction. I am afraid I will not be reading anymore of this series.

So get this bad guy was shooting at a Taylor ;
“man was at the perfect distance to shoot her, and she was too far away to stop him.
Think. Anticipate. Prepare.
Taylor raised her hands high, flashed her eyes and forced her mouth into a smile that she hoped was sexy.  She took a step toward him exaggerating her walk, sticking out her chest.”

What a great installment of the new Deep Six Security series which is a spin off from the famous Texas Trouble series.

Twisted Honor stars Slade and Taylor Kincaid. Slade has been out of the military, special ops, for 5 years with a head injury and his heart was broken by "Jeannie" who wouldn't stand by him after he was injured. Now, he has sworn off any relationship with women... only fun and gone.

The issue at hand is that Dave Logan, owner and his new wife, Susan Whitmore, former FBI and we met both Dave and Susan in several books in the Texas Trouble Series are on their honeymoon and Slade is in charge. Slade doesn't want to be in charge but here he is and what happens, their biggest contract that Deep Six Security has is with a Prince and his Son has been kidnapped.

If you read the Cross Over book SEALed with Fate, with the HOT SEALS (Cat Johnson's series), you would have found out Jaxson Thomas was head of the team protecting the Prince and his family at a High End Hotel in Houston. Jaxson resigns so that he can be blamed and Deep Six has a chance of keeping the contract.

Now, Slade is really in trouble. He has to deal with this issue as well as run the company. He decides to team up with the Head of Security at the Hotel where the kidnapping took place, Taylor Kincaid. Taylor has been fired because of this incident and even though she and her team were not responsible for the Prince.

Slade hires Taylor to help him find the Prince's son quickly. As the story continues, someone is trying to kill Taylor and Slade must protect her too. Slade can't even call Logan because Logan and Susan left their cell phones on Slade's desk, so he must get the team to help them find the Prince's son, stat.

There are many twists and turns in the book which makes it exciting as all hell. Don't miss this installment. You won't regret it.

As Dave Logan's second-in-command at Deep Six Security, Slade is less than excited to be left holding down the fort at home while Dave and his new bride Susan are away (and incommunicado!) on their honeymoon. Because, as sure as shooting, trouble comes knocking, and it's up to Slade and the rest of the Deep Six crew to keep things from boiling over. Add in one small but mighty woman and her ill-behaved dog, a kidnapped boy, and a former Special Forces operative with a bad attitude, and it's all Slade can do to keep from losing it.

Becky McGraw's Deep Six Security series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. The men of Deep Six are a force to be reckoned with, but it's their personalities and quirks that make them so enjoyable. And, of course, any woman that is equal to the task of hanging with the men of Deep Six has got to be feisty and self-assured, and both Taylor and Cee Cee have that in spades.

I thoroughly enjoyed Twisted Honor. It is action-packed, with an engaging storyline, and, as I said, characters that I have really come to like. I also very much appreciate that Becky weaves information into the plot about subjects that are very pertinent to former military folks and the people that care for them.

Twisted Honor is an all-around good read, and is an easy 4-star book for me. If you're a fan of a bunch of alpha males and the women that love them (and, really, who isn't?!), grab this one and enjoy. (P.S. If you haven't read Till Death (Deep Six Security Book 1), I highly recommend it, too.)
