Healing Slowly

Book Three in The Stargazer Collection

Megan Davis has structured her life to avoid making meaningful connections with anyone. A past trauma sees her incurring crippling panic attacks for years since that fateful day. That is, until a nurse who helps her through one in public brings such a feeling of calm to Megan's life, she can't help but take notice.

Lily Harris has spent her entire life caring for others. Along with her job as a nurse in the country's top hospital, her world revolves around her four-year-old son, Wyatt. With her ex-wife causing nothing but grief, she's thrown completely when a stranger nervously enters her life and does the last thing she helps her with her son.

Can Megan lower the walls she's built to keep others out long enough to let Lily in? Can Lily accept that Megan caring for her may just be exactly what she needs in her life?

Healing Slowly, the third and final book in The Stargazer Collection, is a sapphic romance about taking a risk with someone who sees all of you, even the parts you hide the most, and loves you anyway.

Well, damn. Cobin actually made me like a cozy, zero-spice romance. The power here is in the quiet violence of emotional vulnerability. Cobin writes panic attacks and emotional walls with precision. She doesn't let Megan or Lily off the hook with easy fixes.

Elle Cobin wrote a soft book with a razor-sharp core. If you want a sapphic romance that respects character depth over cheap tricks, pick this up. It’s subtle, it’s grounding, and it’s damn good storytelling

Leaving space, whether it was in conversations, between their hands, or in time was such a central theme to Healing Slowly as Lily and Megan discover space can create a place to feel safe and wanted.

Megan had a traumatic event and it changed the entire course of her life, it's only when she meets Lily, that she feels hope again. Lily has centred her life on her son Wyatt, and if she is to bring someone else into her life, Wyatt needs to be their priority as well.

I loved how Lily understood Megan and was willing to wait for her, she showed her the patience and kindness that allowed her to feel comfortable and to gain her trust.

I'm not usually one who enjoys kids in books, but Wyatt is so curious and he really helps to bridge the connection between Megan and Lily. He is a cute little guy with a severe nut allergy and rules that go along with it.

This is the third in the Stargazer collection, there are returning characters, but they can' be read on their own, although they are all good stories so why deprive yourself?

I really enjoyed Trust Fall, loved Game Plan but Healing Slowly had me absolutely captivated. If you've read Trust Fall you know what I mean when I say I was weary of Megan but this book made me love her so much and was the perfect redemption story.

Megan experienced a traumatic event that changed the entire course of her life for nearly a decade and when Lily and Wyatt enter the scene they were exactly what she needed to find herself again. This story was so sweet and emotional and such a satisfying slow burn. I loved every page and could not put it down!

I typically find kids in books pretty obnoxious but Wyatt was written so well and was really the glue that held the story together and I found myself so charmed by his curiosity, wit and ability to make Megan feel comfortable with him and Lily.

This was absolutely my favorite in the Stargazer Collection, watching Megan slowly get her life back and learn to trust again was so satisfying. While this can be read as a standalone, I'd highly suggest reading Trust Fall and Game Plan first. This series is just, so so good!

Healing Slowly

***Possible Spoilers!***

As someone who didn't like Megan in the previous books, this one changed my perspective on her entirely!! I loved her story. I also loved Lily and wanted to give her a hug throughout this entire book. That ex wife of hers was a real piece of work! 🤬 And little Wyatt!!! That's the true star of the show! He's so sweet! They all got their perfect ending, but I was most excited for him! He deserved the happiness he Megan brought to him and his mom! This is one of those stories that will stick with you forever! 🥰

A beautiful end to the trio of stories. A sweet story that brings a family together over the love of a child.
